about 30 seconds after making the suspect fall to the ground the police in Seattle shared a video with the public because a news company asked them to people want to know if the police are doing things right the video was made shorter to make it easier to watch even though the police dog did what it was trained to do chief Carmen best was worried she thought the way they used the dog didn't follow the rules about when force can be used and it didn't match what the police department believes in Chief best looked into how the police use dogs she worked with other groups like The Office of police accountability the court monitor the office of the Inspector General oig and experts who train police dogs together they came up with new rules about using dogs these rules were checked and approved by different important groups like the federal court Monitor and the Department of Justice this information was shared in July also the oig is now checking how the police use dogs to make sure they're doing it right these loyal and courageous K9 officers never cease to amaze us with their bravery and skill what did you think of today's action-packed showcase did any takedown stand out
