But by the time officers arrive, the suspect has already fled. Sensing that something isn't quite adding up, officers choose to follow a hunch. Little do officers know, they're about to find themselves in the middle of complete chaos, making them question their own minds. >> Hi. >> Hi. How you doing? >> Good. How are you? >> Good. How are >> I got hit twice earlier. >> Are they both already gone? >> Oh, yeah. He's in every single day. He's out here prostituting too. All right. >> Oh, really? I can never get like a good picture of his face. >> Oh. >> Do you know which one he is? >> Yeah, I think I do. Can you see him over there? >> He's a He's a guy. >> He's a guy, but he he goes by a female's name, right? >> Yeah. >> Judging by the officer's reaction, this is far from the suspect's first encounter with law enforcement. And as it turns out, officers won't have to wait long before crossing paths with him again. What follows is anything but routine, as the situation rapidly spirals and a wave of mayhem is set in motion. >> Can you come outside with me? Come outside with Look at back. >> Sir, do you have a nice day? >> Come outside. >> Um, I'm not supposed to be here. >> Come outside. >> I'm not supposed to be here. >> Come outside. >> I'm not supposed to >> Come outside right now. >> I'm not a sir. >> Okay. >> Don't touch. >> You're going to stop. >> Stop it. Do you hear me? >> Only moments into the encounter, the situation is already getting out of control. The officer could sense that if these opening moments are any indication, he's about to be in for a much wilder ride. >> Why are you doing this to me? >> Get your hands Put your hands behind your back. >> Sir. They lied. >> Put your hands behind your back. >> They lied, Mark. They kicked us out of the store. And they lied to us here. They lied to everybody. Why is it that you're lying to me? >> You were shoplifting. >> Blasphemy. Blasphemy. I did not do such a thing. >> Get up. >> I did not do such a thing. I can't MOVE MY LEGS. DAMN IT. A girl said run. >> Shut up. >> A girl said run. >> I can't hear YOU. >> A GIRL SAID RUN. What am I supposed to do? Just get scared and do anything? >> Get up. >> Why did she say such a thing? Why did she tell me to run? >> Get up. >> Why did she tell me to run? WHAT DO YOU WANT from me? TELL ME WHAT YOU WANT from me. Why do you lie? You're lying again. You're lying. I can't move. I can't. >> Why can't you move? >> Because he tells me you won't listen to me. >> That doesn't mean you're moving them. >> LISTEN TO ME. You never do. >> I'm seeing you. I'LL BE SEEING YOU. >> DO. HE DOESN'T LISTEN. HE'S A LIAR. HE'S A LIAR. >> From the very start, it becomes clear the suspect is proving to be more than one officer can comfortably handle. Additional units are called in, and before long, backup begins arriving on scene. But even with more officers present, the suspect shows no signs of settling down. >> He's saying that he can't He can't move his legs right now. So, he Walgreens >> doesn't listen. Why do you want this from me? Why would you shoot at me? I did not do nothing. Go ahead and lie. Go ahead and lie. Go ahead and lie. Go ahead and lie. You know I didn't do this at the beginning. Mommy is not going to do anything about it. She's not someone to care. She's not She doesn't take advantage of you. She just takes advantage of all of you. I am not a man. You don't know me. All you do is lie. You confuse me. You abuse me. >> Can I go to my car first? >> Next, the suspect says something so unexpected that it leaves everyone wondering where this is even going. At this point, any sense of logic seems to have been thrown out the window, and the encounter is only becoming more unpredictable by the minute. >> No. >> If you kick us, that's another charge. >> I didn't mean to. Stop it. Stop me. >> Stand up. >> me. Stop me. Stop it. Please stop. Please stop. Please stop. Please stop. Please stop. What do you do? What are you Gabriel. Why did you chase me? >> Just bear with us, man. We're trying to help you. >> You're not helping. You just grabbed me from the door. I'm scared You just lied. I stopped you. He says I'm killing him. Stop. >> [screaming] >> I don't want to be high. >> Do you remember me, Abraham? We used to work together, bro. Yeah, I'm here to help you, man. Just want to make sure you're okay. >> I forgive and forget. Just breathe. Let me Please let me breathe. >> Pull it out. >> I did not do such a thing. I did not steal. I did not steal. Help. Help. Help, please. Please stop. Please. >> No, we're just trying to help. >> Please let me breathe. This is too much. This is too much. Your hands. Your hands are too much. Just let me breathe, please. No, just let me breathe, please. I can't breathe. I can't breathe. I can't breathe. I can't No, no, I can't breathe. I can't breathe. I I can't breathe. I can't breathe, please. I can't breathe. Stop forcing me. Can you just let me breathe? You don't let me relax. Please, just can you quit kicking me? Yes, you are. You named me. >> Even after everything, officers continue to be patient with him, but the suspect wants no part of it. Eventually, he is placed under arrest and secured inside a patrol car. By this point, officers likely believe the most dramatic part of the day is behind them, but as it turns out, this story is far from over. >> Okay, when did you get out of jail last? Didn't you get locked up a couple weeks ago? >> No. >> No? >> I've been good. >> You sure about that? I have like a warrant for trespassing or something. >> No. Why do you have to abuse me? >> We didn't abuse you. >> Yes, you did. You grabbed me inside. >> Hm? >> You grabbed me inside when I was saying ask him to let me come by. You grabbed me inside. I am fine. >> Officers can tell almost immediately that he's not being truthful. The signs are hard to miss, and his story simply isn't adding up. Even so, they keep pushing, hoping that sooner or later he'll let something slip. >> That's why I asked if you had any other medical problems. >> You know, friend no me. You have my name is Abraham. >> Abraham what? >> I got I got a license plate and I don't know so much. >> I understand. Abraham, what's your last name? >> I don't know. Right now. >> Okay, Abraham, if you don't give me your last name, we're just going to book you in as John Doe and you stay in jail. >> Abraham >> Okay. Thank you, Mr. >> Tells me somehow >> So, here's the thing. Relax. The whole reason officers were here is that there were uh multiple cases that stores down on Apple Sales that you went in. They gave your exact description, 5-ft tall with the long hair. Everybody [clears throat] knew exactly who they were looking for, okay? >> I had my shirt off. Just to let you know, I am a female. I am not a male. >> Well, today you identify as a male. >> I am not a male. >> Okay. Well, >> if you want to see >> I don't want >> I am not a male. >> I don't know what you're saying. >> I have my bra on. I was walking with no other shirt. >> Okay. >> I did not have my shirt on at all. >> They identified you wearing a long-sleeve gray shirt with the black pants. You're small, you're 5-ft tall. >> Yeah, yeah, yeah, it doesn't matter. Yeah, it happens. It happens. People get caught getting mixed up. It wasn't me, though. >> Okay. We're just going to come check you out. We'll get you squared away, okay, Abraham? >> What do you mean by squared away for me as? >> You get squared away, we're going to you're going to go to jail. >> Why is that? >> For shoplifting or resisting an officer. >> Hey, excuse >> At this point, the suspect identifies himself as Abraham, but before long, officers begin to realize this may be just another part of this elaborate web of lies, and there is still much left to uncover. >> I don't I had got to see the video you're looking for, a video, but >> Yeah, it's 100% him. >> Yeah, he's We've been dealing with him quite a bit up here today. The last time I I dealt with him, he gave me a he gave me a whole 'nother Yeah. >> Yeah, but like yeah, I don't know what's going on here. >> His first name? Jeremiah? >> That's right. That's right. >> That's good. >> I don't know why I said Abraham. >> I don't know why you told me Abraham. >> I was talking. I don't remember anything he was talking about. I don't remember it correctly. >> So, it happened like two nights ago. >> Yeah, I got I got I got rescued. What's wrong with that? >> What you did? >> Yeah. >> And I >> Stop being mad, please. >> You tried to get any >> No, trust me. I'm not mad one bit. >> Yes, you are. You Clench your Clench your fists, man. Look at that. >> I I see I haven't heard that word in forever. >> I want to help him, but they won't listen to me. >> You guys said you're going to take him right out with you. >> All right. >> After giving multiple false names, the suspect is finally identified as Jeremiah. With that mystery settled, he is taken to a hospital for a routine medical evaluation. But once inside, Jeremiah's behavior becomes increasingly concerning. >> We'll be en route to MMC. >> Uh 1325. >> Come on. Jeremiah. Come on. >> You want to call me Maya? >> Okay, what do you want me to call you? >> Maya. >> Maya. Come on, Maya. >> Meaning it's Oh, I got it. >> Thank you, Maya. >> I'm from Brooklyn, Boston, Boston. Boston. I mean it. That's the model. >> Appreciate you walking with us, Maya. >> You don't want to eat all those chips? >> I'm not trying to eat all of those chips. >> You're going to eat it. >> I'm not. I'm not. I'm not. I'm telling you. I'm not. >> Can we have your name, sir? >> Is that my answer is? I'm going to show you where your judge I'm going to show you where your old judge I mean it. >> I'll see you later. >> I'll see you later where your old judge >> What? >> That's going to be I trusted you, too. You lied to me again. About your feelings. You did not like me the way you looked at me. You looked down at me. Well, why would you do that? Why would you not defend me? They took advantage of me and you know it. I'm more innocent than what you think. My family knows it. Over jealousy. You are not innocent. You're guilty. You're guilty. You are guilty. AND HE KNOWS IT. WHO ARE YOU going to impress, then? You are the bully. I forgive you. >> Still, the process must move forward. And by this point, officers have undoubtedly had quite a day. >> The cat notes and everything. Like, at this time, she was self-dispatching to a 21 walk. Self-dispatched to the weapons call or whatever and then And we're good. We're good. You ready? I'm sorry. You ready? >> I'm fine. >> You set up. Come on, man. What answers do you want? I'll Let's go and I'll I'll talk to you as we're going. If you guys You get Yeah, just show me the room, okay? Yeah. I'll be back. I'll be back. >> A new beginning. New year. >> [singing] >> Let it go. >> [crying] >> I'm sorry, baby. Yeah. >> I did not call you that. >> knew you did you. >> No. >> Yes, you. >> No, I didn't. >> Yes, you. Nope. >> Yes, you. You ready? I could tell. You're a lot different than you were earlier. You would have just listened to me, this all could have gone a lot more smoothly. >> It's okay. >> I forgive you though. No, you didn't. >> You didn't say anything to me. >> Wait, I did. I told you to put your hands behind your back and you didn't. You pulled away from me. You hit me on my neck and then you took off running. And then I told you I was going to tase you if you didn't stop. You didn't stop. And that's why you got tased. >> I forgive you right away, too. >> Thank you. Well, I forgive you, too. I don't take anything personal. >> Jeremiah is charged with shoplifting and resisting arrest. As with any criminal case, the charges are allegations and he is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
