welcome back to the DUI Channel we are on the campus of the University of Central Florida or UCF in an unincorporated area in Orange County Florida where on May 6th 2021 at 2:42 a.m. a sergeant for the UCF Police Department conducted a traffic stop on a white 2017 Jeep Wrangler due to an expired registration decal located on the license plate the vehicle then pulled into the parking lot of the sigma Kai fraternity house before coming to a complete stop the sergeant then began speaking with the driver of the vehicle as his investigation continues it looks like a registration all right cool all right see you see you're coming from your friend's house where's that at station where's that station station the reason I'm stopping is your tag show it exped a year ago how come you haven't taken care of it okay so I got a ticket and my dad was just like fix so I paid it and my dad was like I just haven't gotten chance to do registration I like great I'm going do on my own and I've just been working for for so I just never renewed it I know it's really old yeah like over a year like bad yeah whose idea is that up there on the dash you for mine can I see that it's mine sorry I just lose my IDs all the time gotcha how much you had to drink ay no not at all nothing at all nothing like I literally just got back to my friend's house okay you didn't have anything to Dr he friend J no I was hanging out with her crying over my boyfriend okay but then you're coming to visit him I'm coming to visit him cuz we talked about it and I was like all right I'm come here and I guess I shouldn't okay you're being pulled over cuz I know um where's station at it's okay I'm from West Palm Direction I live in Hawthorne okay you know where that is nope Hawthorne Glenn no so like EMA you pass Northgate right near stadium and then you just keep driving and right before General hathor's right there but I don't know I'm like bad with all right so but you don't know where you're coming was driving my mom's car and we got pulled over and then I got a lawyer I got a lawyer for my ticket but the weird thing is is like I got the lawyer and he just never really contacted me I was like where's what's going on with my ticket okay and he was just like oh like Oola cuz I got like pulled over in Oola he's like oh it's been really slow with Co and I was like okay let me know he never let me know so okay um I did pay him like you told me that you got it you got pulled over for your tag right no I never got pulled over for my tag okay well you said what were you talking about then when you said your I was driving my mom's car you said something when I asked you about your tag being fired over a year you said you got pulled over and you need to fix it or something like that well so I got pulled over but the officer like looked at my tag and then you're good to go okay so I I don't know if he didn't want to deal with it like I don't know but I mean that was over a year ago that it that it expired when did that happen what do you mean oh I got pulled over like I want to say like September okay all right let me check out your license just wait right here okay okay just let me know all right while issuing a citation for expired registration the sergeant requested backup to further investigate the suspect what you got Serge fired like well over a year ago I can't I'm assuming you don't want to sign one yeah you correct um I honestly I can't tell if she's just really dsy or if she's SLE one okay so spech is very on theed yeah good after dispatch advised the Corporal that the suspect's license was valid he approached her vehicle as his investigation begins hey you Nancy hi Nancy how you doing how are you good police sister okay where you coming from 1,002 13 and so on until I tell you to stop eyes are on your elevator foot arms are going to be down by your side if you happen to put your foot down for any reason pick it back up and keep counting she's going to search it real quick you have anything illegal on you anything sharp turn as the suspect was being searched the sergeant inventoried the vehicle and found two additional ID cards in her possession all right Nancy you're not getting charged with the uh with the alcohol okay you say it's your friends you're the only one in the vehicle you're in possession of it I could charge you with it I'm not going to okay you have a fake ID in your wallet okay you know that's a felony correct yes okay I'm not charging you with that either okay thank you all you're getting charged with tonight suspect Nancy was transported to the Orange County Sheriff's Office sector 4 building for further processing while there she submitted two breath alcohol alol samples which yielded a result of1 38% breath alcohol content this is several times above the legal limit of 02 breath alcohol content to drive in the State of Florida if under 21 years of age in court Nancy was charged with expired registration and driving under the influence of alcohol or DUI she was ordered to pay a total of $131 this amount has been paid in full on June 25th 201 21 50 days after the arrest the defendant agreed to sign a DUI pre-trial diversion contract to remedy the behavior leading to the arrest on February 9th 2023 the charge was disposed as Nola PRI one year 7 months and 15 days after the original disposition this means that the prosecution chose to no longer pursue the case and subsequently the defendant was never convicted of any offense involving the incident Nancy was sentenced to zero days in jail 12 months of supervision 50 hours of community service a vehicle impoundment of 10 days no alcohol consumption before turning 21 ordered to associate only with law-abiding persons maintain employment or status as a full-time student submit to random urine screenings attend DUI school participate in counseling and complete a victim impact class you tried yeah seriously your life's not over okay think about it this way right no no you guys are literally wearing my light here think about it this way here just step right here you know how much worse it would have been God forbid that you kill someone dude I never would have like look at the way you're talking look at the way I'm talking to you like you know I'm fine and this is the thing that's so bizarre to me right now like I'm literally fine and this is insanity lean back like I'm literally talking like a normal person and that's why I'm so confused about this whole test CU I did everything perfectly like I'm so confused how you doing sir
