Here [music] we go. >> This is Frederick Lee Roberts. One Thursday evening around 5:30 p.m. He went to a gas station to check his lottery ticket. When clerk told him it wasn't winner and discarded it, he became visibly upset. He then asked her to check another ticket, but it was crumbled and torn, so she refused. His frustration escalated. He ended up throwing a ladder at her, robbing the store for all their lottery tickets, and destroying everything in sight. But only to hear the full story in detail from the clerk herself. >> He came in the store and told me to scan a lottery ticket. At first, he came I was in the back changing the bills. When I came out, I hear a whole bunch of noise. He picking up sandwiches, chips, and he just come and take everything on the counter say, "Back this up." And I'm like, "Huh?" Cuz I'm lost. Like, back it up. And I was like, "What? What do you want?" He was like, "Oh, check the ticket, baby girl." So, I checked the ticket. I said, "How's like give my ticket back?" I said, "It's in the trash. If you want, you can go get it." Then you have this rip up like I said I can't take that up. I said oh you going have to call the police today. I said I'm going to call him. So then he start coming around the corner tell your [ __ ] and I'm going to call him. So once I start put my phone on the ladder with the ladder hit me one time I said hey you going to get out. So he kept coming toward me with the ladder. He hit me again. He hit me the second time. I'm not going to lie. I need scissors. I picked up I said oh get out of there and I still call the police. So that time hit me. He tried to hit me again. By that time when he show again I felt that he had a little flap. I kept it up. So once I go through that I get off me. He start getting lottery tickets. He was ripping the whole lottery thing out of the thing. >> There's three bags that are set up with lottery tickets. He's shoving those bags over the counter over the counter. He was shoveing the bag of sandwiches inside the bag. >> So then while I'm standing around the corner still recording him on my phone and talking to the police in the phone, he still stuff in the bag. So the girl like bro you this girl like get out the store like [ __ ] that. I'm taking this [ __ ] I'm taking this [ __ ] I [ __ ] call the police. I said I'm on the phone with the police. So he still stuff in the back. He turns around take blunts off the thing. take all I think is like oh get my purse all my information but I ain't going to get lock the door so by the time that guy orange shirt like police so I come so I lock the door know you don't know where I understand it was a wrong idea for me to lock the door at this too much so I lock out the door y'all right up the street so I lock out the door so once he se up the trash can he throw the trash can so he now see the police he pick up this little thing that we got on this step on he picked up those up he pick up those I pick the trash He throw that at me. Once you see the police kicking the door, he run through the back. I try to hurry unlock the door. By time I tell him back, he I don't know if he back door cuz we keep the door locked. So apparently he must have bust the back door. They got him. >> Police sure got him. Watch the moment the officer arrives at station while Frederick is in the middle tearing the place. >> The door's locked. >> Hey the [ __ ] ground. Open this door. Open it. Get the [ __ ] ground. 33 back. 33 foot chase. Get on the [ __ ] GROUND. You're about to get tased, boy. Yeah. Get on THE [ __ ] GROUND NOW. [laughter] ON THE GROUND. >> That was a good taste. [laughter] And right below, no pets allowed. Honestly, these these poor I don't know if it's a gas station or whatever it is don't make enough to deal with this just ghetto people and trust me they're disrespectful to us. They really are the force on the ground. I'm in the super stomach. Put your HANDS BEHIND YOUR BACK NOW. OH, NO. 110. >> Get up. >> Now, go back to my car. Frederick Lee Roberts was found guilty of robbery without a weapon and resisting an officer without violence. He [music] spent 272 days in county jail. If you haven't already, make sure you check out our last video. >> Okay, let's go find something else. [music] >> [music] [music] [music] [music] [music] [music] >> Okay. >> [music] >> I'm almost done, by the way. So, I don't want to make this too long. It's already been an hour. Then I have to cut up these videos. >> Drag the girl from one side of the street together. >> Tonight, new video shows neighbors scrambling to help a woman who was viciously mauled by two dogs in Auburn. The neighbors say the dogs came from a longtime problem property that's been taken over by squatters near Thomas Jefferson High School. We'll come with Tammy Matsa live tonight in Auburn with the very latest. Tammy, how's that woman doing tonight? >> Preston, last check, she is still in critical condition after that horrifying attack. You know, good Samaritans who ran to help her are still reeling from what they saw. And they tell me it should have never happened. >> The commotion and horror played out on this Ring surveillance video, but we're not showing the attack. Michelle Proven heard screaming, then rushed outside to see two dogs viciously dragging a young woman across the street. >> Should never happen to her. >> There's no reason. Michelle grabbed a bat, handed it to another neighbor who swung at the pitbull and pitbull mixed dogs, but he got bit, too. And they literally watched the dogs drag the girl from >> No one thought to get a gun. That'll take care of it. >> One side of the street to the other and sit there and yank on her arms. She had a bloody face and all parts of her body. The dogs ripped her clothes off. >> An arriving King County deputy shot and killed the pitbull after it launched at the deputy. >> If I had a gun, I would have shot the dog myself. >> The second dog ran away. But later, we were there when animal control had a tough time wrangling the dog from a house. That house neighbors say was taken over by squatters and they own the dogs. Neighbors say their complaints to authorities have fallen on deers. >> This house >> because we live in a dog worshipping culture. So they don't care if humans are killed, humans are mauled. Don't [music] care. They they just don't care. This is a big nuisance to all the neighbors in this area. Um, they get multiple calls, I'm sure, in a week about this house, but it seems like King County doesn't want to do anything about it. >> King County prosecutors say in the past they haven't had any cases referred to their office involving the dogs, though the owner has a criminal history, including domestic violence assault. Prosecutors say they expect to get a felony case referred to their office later this week. >> We have told the county it's turning into a landfill over here. They're doing bad things. Everybody knows it. And we said someone's going to get hurt [panting] and finally someone could. >> Now, I asked Sheriff Deputies and I'm told that house has had two recent calls. one for a welfare check and another for suspicious activity. Live in Auburn, Tammy Matasa, Komo News. >> I talked to that attorney today who filed this lawsuit on behalf [clears throat] of Junji Ma. She tells me that she is still working very hard to overcome the emotional trauma and the physical injury she suffered during that attack. >> She's constantly needing to get repeat surgeries to the arm because dog bite injuries are crushing injuries. >> Junji Moss suffered a broken arm plus serious injuries to her head, legs, and torso when two dogs ran across the street and mauled her while she was jogging last year. >> But I saw the dogs drag her across the street. Mich Proan ran to help Moss back in February. Today, the house next door to her is boarded up and there's a new lawsuit against its owner, the dogs owners, and King County. >> I am happy that hopefully this will bring some sort of changes. >> Proven and other neighbors tell me they repeatedly called King County deputies and regional animal control each time they spotted criminal activity or dogs running loose or injuring people. >> More than one occasion attack somebody, they didn't keep them in the house. >> Everybody said their hands were tied and um yeah. >> How can your hands be tied if you're animal control? How does that happen? Because a dog owner should not have a dog if they cannot cannot afford a fence, a strong one and a foundation where the dog cannot dig under it. And really if pe if someone it dies that should be 20 years minimum. 20 to 25 years minimum if your dog kills someone because there's no reason for it. Cuz the excuse is, well, the dog is just protecting itself and it doesn't know. This woman wasn't in its property. The dogs like this don't seem to know where their property is, especially if they're roaming the streets. So they're not defending their property. They're not defending their owner. They're just mauling people. A dog like that needs to go. It was pass. >> The lawsuit chronicles some of those calls dating back several years before the attack on Moss. Shortly after the attack she suffered, the county gave people living there notice that they had to get out. The house was then boarded up 6 weeks later. >> Shouldn't take her to make them do anything. >> These dogs were perpetually vicious. Attorney Gemma Zenowski, who filed the lawsuit on behalf of Moss, tells me the county reached a systemic level of failure. >> This was not just the involvement of animal control or the King County Sheriff or code enforcement or the prosecutor's office. These residents contacted all of these entities and all of these officials trying to get somebody to come out and use the authority that they had to do something about this >> because they're dog lovers. They're not going to do anything. They put vicious test tube baby Frankenstein beasts over human life. Oh, well, it's the owner. Well, if he beating on his girlfriends or whatever, >> whoever it is, they didn't even say the gender. Of course, the dog's going to be violent. So, even more you should do something. Anyway, [music] I'll see you all later and I'll be recording this and cutting it into
