Get on the ground. Don't move. Get on your face. >> What is this guy doing? This guy's messing with this girl here. I'm going to have to talk to him. Come here. >> Step over here. Drop your s. Keep your hands out of your pockets. >> Put your hands in your pockets on me. Step over here. Get over the wall. Keep your hands out of your pocket. Get over the wall. >> All right. >> Put your hands behind your back. >> Get on the ground. Get on the ground. >> All right. >> 21 DP 13 416. GET ON THE GROUND. STAY ON THE GROUND. >> All right. All right. >> All right. STAY ON THE GROUND. ALL RIGHT. Stay on the ground. All right. All right, you talk to me. >> Boulevard and S. Get on the ground. Stay on the ground. >> I got it. I got it. >> Now, okay. Get up. Lean over the car. One in custody. Keep me another unit rolling at Boulevard and Sand. Don't move. >> One DP13. Go ahead and do >> Why'd you try to run if you didn't do nothing wrong? >> Because I don't want to go to jail. >> Hey, take him. >> Take him. >> What's that? >> Go out, right? There was a guy and a girl walking down the street here. He uh went up and was grabbing the girl. Looked like he trying to get in her pockets just by grabbing her. Obviously, he has something to hide if he's uh trying to fight >> and willing to run like that. He told He just told us he has a warrant cuz he missed court. So, >> how old is he? >> I don't know. We're checking right now. >> Get all his IDs. said he didn't want to go to jail, but he's going to go to jail for resisting obstructing. Anyway, so >> you know those people you were up there talking to? >> Yeah, the ones who was on their back. >> Yeah, you were stopping. >> That's Lizzie and uh I forgot the other dude name. I just met him. I was just helping her up. She didn't stop or nothing. Sir, I swear. I just pushing her up on her back. Then I turned around and you stopped me. I pulled up my pants. I'm scared cuz I just bailed out. >> Pull up your pants. I swear to God I was >> Oh, if you're wondering why, cuz you're reaching in your pockets, right? >> Why'd you try to run? >> I wasn't. I'm scared, man. I just got out of jail. >> For what? >> For um jaywalking. >> For jaywalking? >> Yeah. >> So, if you would have just talked to me, not made this into a bigger deal than it already was, you'd be walking away from here. But since you tried to run, >> I'm sorry, sir. >> You got something to hide then, right? >> I'm not hiding nothing, sir. I was just I just bailed out not even two days ago. >> Hey, he got ID. >> No. >> 440. That's why you ran, right? >> You got warrants. >> What do you want to do? Just warrants for >> Yeah, I'm going to do them for the warrants. >> Do resisting, too? >> Um, >> yeah. >> No, we just wrestled around. >> No, we just wrestled around. >> All right. So, resisting and then and then 13,000 of warrants. Good. That's a good robbery warrant. >> You're under arrest. You got warrants. You got $3,000 warrant for predit larseny in front person. >> You got $10,000 warrant for robbery. >> Can I say something? >> What do you want to say? >> I just got out of court for that. >> Listen, you can go explain it to the judge. All right. >> You got warrants and you tried to run. Now you got caught up now. Okay. Put up a good fight though. I give you that. Nice try. Turn around. Try to run again. It ain't going to work. >> He his elbow. He's He tried to run. He fell in the middle of the road. So if you could just look Just look at his elbow. Just It probably ain't even nothing. I just want to make sure. >> Sit down. Have a seat. Your elbow's not even bleeding that bad. He's going to jail. They're running up this guy's record. He's He's definitely out here up to no good. He's out here pickpocketing from people. By looking at his record, he's got pages and pages of larsening from a person, which can be anything from pickpocketing to stealing purses, taking stuff from people. So, he's got $13,000 in warrants. >> Here's the deal, man. You're going to jail. You got $10,000 robbery warrant, $3,000 ling from person warrant. I know what you're up to out here. You got no business being down here. So, you got caught today. You're going to jail. >> He was bent over like this and he was unscrewing. I said, "Man, what is you doing under the hood of that car?" >> I usually buy wreck cars like that and fix them up. >> A little butt kicking was about to take place. >> Don't move. GET ON YOUR FACE. You're in a stolen vehicle. >> The vehicle's a silver. >> We're on our way. Officer's following a rolling stolen vehicle right now. >> We're trying to catch up >> in the parking lot. He's waving in and out right now. United South out of the parking lot going to >> All right, we're chasing this Honda right now. >> Get it there. >> Yeah, you're recovering. >> Get on the ground. >> Don't move. Get on your face. PUT YOUR HANDS BACK. PUT YOUR HANDS BACK. Put your fans back. >> Do you have any weapons or anything on you? You have any ID on you? >> All right, relax. Relax. You're in a stolen vehicle. >> Just look. What's your name? What? All right, Matthew, just relax. >> Look, Matthew, just >> I have for this stuff, sir. >> Lay down on your stomach and just relax. >> Hey, relax. All right, it's over. It's over. >> Stand up. >> Matthew. Matthew. >> Relax. It's all over. Okay. >> It's no big deal. You >> have any weapons or anything? No, sir. Nah. >> All right, Matthew. >> There's no way you could call my arm. >> What is that? >> Oh, it's like a shank. That's what the fool gave me, too. >> We're good. Thanks. >> So, they got this shank. >> It's like a reser. >> Are you on parole? >> Probation, sir. >> For the same thing. >> For the same thing. >> Okay, Matthew. Hold on. I'm going to lock your cuffs up >> cuz I already know like it's stolen sir and then I have prior man. So I'm I'm messed up. >> All right, Matthew. Let's go ahead and have a seat. We'll take care of it and just relax. All right. >> She knew the car was stolen, but she didn't have anything to do with it. >> Well, she didn't know like it was stolen. Like she knew the person let me use it. >> But I can't. But you can't tell me who gave it to you. >> Yeah, you know. You know how it is, man. >> All right, brother. He said he knew it was stolen. He can't tell me who gave him the car. He's on probation for 10851 already. Says his name is Matthew. I'm not getting his ID anywhere. He's got a couple more wallets. Mel, I don't know who that is. Hey, what's the name of the girl you got? >> I got a bunch of different IDs here. >> None of them belong to the suspect. So, you live in Cathedral City? >> I just go buy me a CD with my money. >> Oh, no. I panic. The suspect had this in his right front pocket. I asked him what it was. He said it was a shank. It actually fits right into an ignition or maybe a uh lock on a door. That's a homemade burglary tool for getting into locks. So, I'd also charge them with 466 of the penal code possession of a burglary tool. The ignition in this car is completely punched out right there. And there's the screwdriver. So, he probably started with the burglary tool, maybe switched to the screwdriver, completely pried out the ignition, and is able to stick the screwdriver in there and turn the ignition. That's how they get the car started. He's going to jail for possession of a stolen vehicle. I love it when they don't get away. We got a combative inmate coming in. The uh patrol officer radioed ahead to our control and said that either they're being physically, verbally, or both resistive in the backseat of the car. >> Hey, sorry. >> He's a DUI. >> Hey, Alejandro. You've been in here before? >> Never. Sir, >> how come you're acting this way inside this car? >> Cuz I just feel so unfair. It's so unfair that I >> that I know I didn't blow more than a seven or a six. >> I I can smell you from here. >> Well, let's do the blood test. >> We will. But what I need but but right now what I need to know is if you're going to cooperate or not? >> I'm going to be very cooperative, sir. >> Okay. >> Very cooperative. >> We're going to give you some very specific orders. You going to follow them? >> Yes, sir. >> Okay. I'll give you one chance. >> That's fine. Okay. >> We're going to try We're going to give him one chance to walk. I >> made it. I graduated, baby. Yeah, I made IT TO LB LAS VEGAS, BABY. LA. >> All right, you know what? I made it, BABY. WHAT'S UP? >> I CHANGED my mind. Let's go with the chair. >> Oh, funny game. So, I get with the other big dogs, right? >> Well, do you think they're going to take advantage of a young cello like me? >> Alejandro, settle down. You're not doing yourself any favors. >> Oh, no, I'm not. But you guys ain't either. >> Oh, right. I GOT THE CHAIR. I GOT THE CHAIR. YEAH, BABY. I don't even deserve the chair, but I got the chair. >> I have a red dragon up in here, baby. This a killer right here. I'M A KILLER. YO, I CAN'T BELIEVE this captain is scared of me. That's a killer, BABY. WHY are they going to do all this to me? Cuz I'm a little buzzed. What a trip. >> All right, keep your voice down. You're being serious. You guys are totally trippy. >> Las Vegas, baby. >> Do you have any allergy to medication? >> No. >> Are you currently on prescription medication? >> No. >> Okay. Have you been drinking alcohol at all? >> Sure. >> All right. How many drinks do you think you had tonight? >> Three beers and three shots. >> How often do you drink it? every day. >> Do you ever get withdrawals or anything like that? >> Sometimes. >> Sometimes. When's the last time you had a drink? About an hour, half hour ago. >> Two hours ago. >> Two hours. >> Okay, Alandro, >> come on, guys. Let me go. I'm totally like not violent to society. >> I love the spies. They get all crazy on the spot. >> Alejandro, settle down. You're going to come out here eventually if you behave. >> I will. I will totally shut up. I just don't know what's going on. This is totally amazing to me. >> Yes. >> This is amazing. This is amazing. >> It's amazing, man. >> Okay. I I gave you a chance. All you had to do was cooperate. Keep it down. But you're being disruptive. We can't have that in here. >> Okay. >> Shut up. From I mean, how many minutes you need me to shut up? >> You show me something. Okay. >> As we saw when he came in the car, he went from cooperative to uncooperative very quickly. At this time, we're doing a blood draw to determine the exact alcohol level in his blood. This is the most accurate method. He said he's going to cooperate. Standing by just in case he changes his tune. >> Cuz I never done nothing to present any harm to you guys. >> All right, Alejandra. >> I love my life so bad, man. And there's no turning back. There's no turning back cuz I'm dying. >> All right, Alejandro. Uh, your blood draw is done. >> Well, you can do it, man. You got a good life, man. >> Try to keep it down. Okay. the better behave. The better you behave now, the better off he'll be later on in the process. >> I know. >> Okay. >> So, you brought in Alejandro. >> Yeah. He decided to go see his girlfriend after having a few drinks at the bar. >> Uh his girlfriend told him to go home. So, he went around the road and uh lost control, hit the uh curb, um tried to continue down the roadway, hit the curb again, and then his left front tire went and hit the garage door of a residence. When I showed up, uh, Alejandro was pushing the front tire and the assembly down the road to his car, which was about 50 yards away. >> Oh, man. So, he went and got the tire and was bringing it back. >> Yeah, exactly. >> How about you? >> Look straight ahead. Alejandro's now been in the open booking area for a little bit. He's had a chance to use the phone, get uh screened by our nurses, talked to our psych staff. Let's go see how he's doing. >> How you feeling? You coming down a little bit? >> A lot better. A lot better. Yeah. >> You got some clarity? >> Yeah. >> Okay. You starting to see how things could have gone a little easier if you'd have just gone with the program when you came in? >> This is my first time here and um I didn't know that like attitude right off the automobile was going to get me that far. Do you get like that every time you drink >> or would you drink more than usual? >> I've I've never been that >> that drunk. Okay. I wouldn't I wouldn't recommend it again. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. Probably don't like the person that comes out when you do that. >> It's uh they caught you on for a reason. You turn into the boss. >> All right. Luckily, no one got hurt except your car. Yeah. >> All right. Thank you. All right. Head back in. Thank you. >> Hopefully Alejandro learned his lesson. So now what happened? >> I was out with my wife. She was out selling the medical stuff. >> Selling what, man? >> Weed. selling weed? >> No, I'm about to lose my job. I I'm a telemarketer. >> So, she's selling wheat and you come to jail. >> Well, cuz I was looking out, you know. >> Oh, you were part of the deal. Oh, okay. Go ahead and have a seat. You have any certified convictions? >> No, I just got busted for writing a fake restraining order in California. >> Was it Felonius? >> Yeah. I tried to get I tried to get my ex-girlfriend in trouble. So, I went to court and said that she tried to kill me and she didn't do it. >> All right, man. Go ahead. Take that jacket off. That's like overtime trying to get somebody in trouble. >> Yeah. They gave me the restraining order and put her in jail for 2 months. >> It's a little vindictive on your part, right? >> Yeah. >> So, you guys decided to go into the pot business, huh? >> Well, not really. I mean, I It's not my thing. I mean, this stand here. Face that direction. It's a nonviolent crime, man. You're putting too much into it. Put your hands on your head. >> Right here. >> Is there somebody missing an eye? >> No. >> Somebody get a leg cut off? No. >> Is somebody dead? >> No. >> All right. >> You just got to You got to watch the certified convictions, no matter what they are. All right. That's when the ball starts rolling, man. >> I know better than this. >> Come on this way. >> Yes, sir. >> Go ahead. Sit in number two. Wait for the nurse to call you up. Okay. All right. Looks like a task force brought him in. Looks like he was trying to supplement his income. He >> was looking for the lookout for his wife. >> His wife was the saleserson and he was basically, I guess, on the lookout for police, but it didn't work out too well. >> You're here with your husband? >> Yes. >> Okay. What happened out there? >> Um, I was selling marijuana to somebody off Craigslist. I was the one that posted the ad. I was trying to get my hair done. So this guy called me up and he was like, >> "Oh, well, do you have anything?" I'm like, "I'm trying to get my hair done." He said he would give me 100 bucks. >> That's what you charge usually. 100 bucks for a quarter. >> I've never sold marijuana before. >> How did you have marijuana to sell? Then >> I am a marijuana patient. So I met up with them and that's when the cops got me. >> I was just trying to get my hair done. >> That was the way to do it. Did you get your hair done? >> No. Okay. So, you're crying. Why are you crying? You've never been arrested before. You've never been arrested before. >> Okay. Why is your >> And I brought my husband in here. >> Why is your husband in here? >> Because I gave the money to him. >> Do you know what you're going to get charged with? Did they say? >> Oh, um, they said that I have some possession of spice, too, because I have spice on me. >> You You consume that? >> Yeah. It's kind of a relaxing. I'm going to go talk to your husband. See how he's doing from that end? I'll let him. Anything you want me to let him know? >> He's terrible. >> You love him. How do I know you're going to say that? >> All right, I will. >> Thank you. >> Can you come here to Kobe? She's really upset. She's more concerned about you, though. >> I just wish we would have stayed at home. >> What happened tonight, though? >> She goes to the convenience store. I was inside the store waiting um till the transaction was done. She gave me the money. Once she gave me the money, next thing I know, I see all these cops and now we're here. >> I just thought that it was odd that she'd put an ad in Craig on Craigslist and mentioned the the 420. >> See, I didn't do it. I was just look her lookout basically. But I mean, I should have known better. I should have told her, "No, this is not the right way to go. Don't do this." I'm a sports better. I mean, I'm over at the Stratosphere almost every day gambling, which is why it sucks I'm here cuz tomorrow there was going to be a good game. I was going to take the Chiefs and under tomorrow, but you know, cuz they're playing the Sorry, Raiders. The Raiders suck, you know. So, I was going to throw everything I had besides my wife's wedding ring on the Chief. >> No, don't do that. Don't do that. You know, that's bad luck. >> Yeah. >> Live and learn, right? >> Yeah. >> All right. I'll let you know when your paperwork comes up. >> Get you guys through the process. We'll see what's going to go on, what your charges are. Okay. All right. Thank you. >> Long, come over here, sir. >> This is what they found on her. This is Spice. Uh, she's getting charged for trafficking schedule one controlled substance. >> All right. We got a copy of your charges back. What it has here is conspiracy to violate a Uniform Control Substance Act, which is the bell is $10,000. >> Okay. >> All right. Okay. >> All right. So, we'll get you called and get you processed through. All right. >> See back right up there. >> Come on back here, ma'am. >> Ma'am, go ahead and step right over there. >> Got a copy of your charges here. Okay. So basically what you got was um the trafficking for your spice you got here and then you got the um you got charged for uh the sale of the marijuana here. Okay. So each one of your charges you got was $20,000 a piece is for your bail. >> Trafficking and what? >> Trafficking of the spice and then you have the uh sale of the control substance which is the marijuana. >> I got you. >> Okay. And just remember you can't talk to him when you're in that other room. I've been noticing y'all communicating with each other a little bit. Absolutely. >> Don't do that. You get yourself in more trouble while you're in the facility. Okay. All right. All right. Have a seat and I'm going go ahead and get you processed through. Okay. >> All right. >> All right. >> The whole ad thing on Craigslist is funny to me. It's pretty blunt. So, I'm not surprised this is the way it turned out. Hopefully, this is a learning lesson for him cuz this was not a smooth operation at all. Spread your feet apart. >> What brings you to jail today? >> Oh, I I drove too slow. >> Drove too slow. Yeah. Evidently, I had three cars in front of me, but I couldn't go fast enough. >> Is this your first time ever here? >> No. I've been here once before. >> Been here once before? >> Yeah. They rolled me up underneath a trailer. I was sleeping. >> Sir, take a seat there in the tan chair there for me. Please take off your jacket there. >> Were you treated okay last time you were here? >> So, so you gave us another chance to come on back again. See if we could treat you a little bit better. >> Yeah, that might. >> Okay. Well, thanks for coming back there. Okay, sir. Stand up, please. Other direction. >> Come on. Up here. I need a signature from you. >> I'm sorry. I can't see. I don't have my eyeballs. >> Maybe that's the reason why you were driving so slow. It's uh 127. >> No, no, no. The reason was I had cars in front of me. >> Oh, okay. Let's go out here and take a seat in this chair with the number two on it. >> I'm here. I drove too slow. >> Seriously, they arrest me for driving too slow. Maybe if I was in the other lane, I could have drove faster. >> Who Who gets thrown into jail FOR DRIVING TOO SLOW? >> YOU NEED YOUR VOICE DOWN. >> LARRY, do you have a question? >> Yeah. >> Why am I in here for a traffic ticket? >> A traffic driving too slow. I'm here rolled up for a traffic ticket. Driving too slow because obviously I didn't take off from a stoplight quick enough. Did you just write a ticket out? >> No, sir. >> Oh, so you lock people up for a traffic ticket for driving too slow. >> You going to let me talk? >> Yeah. >> Okay, >> your turn now. >> Thank you. >> You have no answers. >> No, I don't have answers. >> Evidently, so why talk? >> So you can just sit there until >> that's what I've been doing. >> But if you could become disruptive and >> I'm not disruptive. I just wanted I just wanted a question. Oh, I'm too loud. >> Yes, Larry. >> Okay. I tried too slow and I'm too loud. So, what are you going to do? >> How about quieting it down? >> Thank you. >> Done deal. >> Thank you. >> So, when do I get out of here? >> Oh, you >> I thought we were done talking. >> Larry, come on, buddy. >> You all right? >> Officer, did you bring in Larry? >> Yeah. Second time DUI offense. I was driving northbound on Las Vegas Boulevard. stopped at a light and he pulled up next to me uh pretty abruptly and just started mean mugging me. Just started staring at me the whole time, uncomfortable, everything else. Light went green. He's waving to me to go, but we're in lanes next to each other. So, I just rolled out my window and told him to go. He just sat there. All the cars behind him start honking at him. He finally starts to go forward. So, I pull him behind him and turn on my lights and he just keeps on driving. Turn on my lights, siren, everything else, PA system. Tell him to stop. Won't stop. drives another almost two miles before he finally parks in a parking space and uh just rire of alcohol. >> Well, thanks for taking them off the streets. Most likely you saved someone's life out there. Thank you. >> Sit down there, Larry. >> I'm trying. >> Okay. >> You're not going to whip me or anything, are you? >> No, sir. >> Okay. Am I going fast enough for you? >> Going just fine. >> Okay, cool. Just check it. Hi. >> Fingers to your dump. Upper and lower. Wash your hair out from the back to the front. Look up. Perfect. Turn to your right there. Turn your whole body to the right. Perfect. Larry, come on up here. You got a sign right there that you had you brought in no money. >> Well, I don't know about that now. >> Well, we didn't account for any. >> Evidently, I guess I have to believe you. >> Larry, you're being arrested for a DUI, second offense there. >> Really? >> Yes. >> I thought it was for driving too slow. >> No, you're under the you were arrested for a DUI. >> No, I was driving. No, he said he said I was driving too slow. That was the probable cause to pull you over. >> And now he's throwing a DUI on it. I wasn't driving under a DUI. >> Well, you can't be drinking and driving when you're in the car. >> You know what? >> I'm just saying whatever he wants. I'm just saying >> you're going to go to court there. >> Yeah, we'll take care of it. >> And you can wait 48 hours. >> Send the first two rows. >> I'm glad that Larry got the officer's attention today so he didn't injure anybody when he was driving under the influence. All right, turn this way. Spread your feet for me. >> What did you do to get arrested? >> I called 911 because the security people came into my room without me knowing. >> You called them a few times. these men that just came into my room. I don't know who they are. They did not introduce themselves and I was I was scared. I was lying on my bed. >> And I was just scared. >> Turn around and face me like this. >> Yes. >> All right. Bend your head down. >> Phone calls kept getting disconnected. That's why I kept calling them to have them stay on the phone with me because I was scared. >> All right, ma'am. Come right here. Connie, she's going to sign for her paperwork. So far, they counted $8,120. So, sign right here for me. Okay. All right. If you want to just have a seat right back out there where you were sitting. All right. That's a lot of money for somebody to just be carrying it around in $100 bills. Usually, they have it broken up a lot more. >> Have you ever been here before? >> No. >> You know why you're here, right? >> Because I called 911 three times. >> Four times? four times. Whatever. >> What if you cause a disturbance? >> I didn't cause a disturbance. I didn't argue with anyone, but I need 911 on the phone because they record the calls and if anyone does anything sneaky to me, at least they can hear it and it's recorded on tape. >> That's what my dad told me to do and I'm just doing what he told me to do. >> And where do you live now? You live >> I live in Hawaii. I'm a princess. >> You're a princess? >> Oh, so your dad took care of you? >> Why do you have so much cash? cuz I was traveling. I'm traveling. I'm I'm a tourist here and I just came here to adopt some animals and they're not they're not cheap. They're expensive and they need medical attention and their medicines cost a lot of money. I was going to take them to Canada with me. >> All right. Well, good luck here in uh >> Vegas. >> Thank you. >> What happened? Why is she here? >> She came here to adopt animals to stay in the Venetian. Had a disturbance with security cuz she was causing noise or whatever. So they wanted to talk to her and then she felt she was being violated. So she called Metro four times and hung up. Wow. >> And they were told to call back 311 and she refused. So Miss 911. >> Did I hear you say she's a princess? >> She said she has a palace in France. >> She did have a lot of money rolled up in her property. >> Mhm. A ton. >> Shayen. Come on now. >> All right. Step over here for me. Okay. This is a copy of your charges. Misuse of 911 and your bail amount's $2,000. You can probably post your bail with the amount of money you came in here with. >> No, I will pay for it with American Express. >> Oh, gotcha. You're not doing that yet. >> Oh, >> but I don't think they take American Express. This is your copy. >> Thank you. >> Come this way with me. Come on. >> You're going to walk straight through the middle right here. You're going to sit there. Very Stop. Stop. Stop. Stop. Very front row on the right hand side with the females. >> Okay. Some of her story sounds a little bit legit. Maybe she really does come here to help animals and stuff, but hopefully she'll not use 911 again unless it's an emergency. >> Can you do me a favor and put that sword down? >> Sir, step away. He's the one. He made me bleed. >> Put that down. >> No, he made me bleed. He's the one. >> Okay. Put that down. >> You've been watched. >> Put that down. >> I will die. >> No. >> Yeah. Charm line. Charlmagne. >> He's messing with everyone related to Charlemagne. He lied to Justin. [ __ ] >> Justin. >> What? Can you do me a favor and put that sword down? >> Why are you so upset, Justin? >> Hey, just >> cut my hand. >> Hooked up with the Catholic church. my hand. You lied to me. I'm a machine. You didn't use a switch blade. You didn't use our screwdriver. You didn't use a screwdriver. >> Justin, >> my god disposal. I am a bad you and you. >> Why are you so upset, Justin? >> I am. >> Okay. >> Why are you upset today, Justin? >> I'm trying to understand. And I want to talk to you. I want to get you some help. >> Don't come at me with that. Shoot me. >> Don't come at me with that, Justin. Come on, man. You don't want to do this. >> Run. What are you doing? What do you do? >> Picture to my left, too, after viewing the body worn camera footage is a still photo from the bodywn camera showing uh Mr. Charlan lunging towards the officer with the sword. And again, this is another closer photo of that officer firing around, striking Mr. Charland uh with the suspect within about 2 to three yards of our officer. arrest. >> You've been arrested before? >> Um, I got arrested here like once or >> you're in Vegas? >> Yeah. >> What'd you get arrested for today? >> I don't know. Some stupid thing. I left my bag like 20 ft away from where I was. >> What brought you out from Ohio? >> Uh, I'm trying to make it as an artist. >> What do you do? Paint music? >> I make I don't know. I make like uh I paint with pen and ink and uh all kinds of >> You uh sell your work on the street on the strip? I try to sometimes, but most of the time I'm just like sitting there like spinning my heart out, you know, like kicking it. >> Do you make decent money? Good deal. >> I actually haven't made anything, man. I've been to like been to like all the places around here and I haven't made crap yet, dude. I'm so like pissed off. It's [ __ ] dude. >> Ready? Let's get you out of these handcuffs, man. >> Stand here face that way, please. >> Hey, did you have a shirt when you got arrested? >> I mean, yeah. I took everything off. >> What did he do that constituted indecent exposure? Someone flagged me down saying that he was behind the O'Reilly auto part naked. Went back there. He was naked. >> Butt naked. >> Butt naked. He said he was meditating, talking to the universe. >> Lewis, do you know what you got charged with? >> Uh, decent exposure. >> Decent exposure. Do you know why? >> He was naked. Like standing there meditating. >> Why? >> I don't know. I've never done it before. >> There people around? >> No. >> No. You're just kind of doing your thing. >> Well, somebody saw you cuz they called. >> Oh, really? >> Yeah. So So do me a favor. Keep your clothes on when you're in here, okay? It freaks these guys out a little bit if you get naked. >> Yeah, no problem, man. >> All right, I appreciate it. >> Go ahead and take a seat in the first row. >> First row, Lily. All the way. >> Anywhere in the front row you want. >> If I can just keep him to keep his pants on while he's here, it'd be great. I just want to say this again. >> You can scoot over if you want. Poor guy. No, he's okay, buddy. I just We can't have you running around. He's >> freaking people out. What's your name again? A >> Jesus Christ. >> Can see the resemblance. >> Can't have you walking around. Okay. >> Makes everybody crazy. As you can see, the response. >> Keep your pants on in here. Okay. >> I will for sure. >> Yeah, we frown on We frown on that here. It's a family jail. >> Seriously. Louis, >> come here. >> No doubt. He likes barefoot more. >> Are those your shoes? >> All right. Keep your pants up. >> You have to step low. >> Oh, yeah. You don't want to show things in here. Stand in that red box. No, I'm not kidding. I'm not kidding. >> Look that way, bud. >> Oh, wow. That's a That's a picture. >> Awesome. Kodak moment. >> So, you are charged. Louis, >> you are charged with indecent exposure. Okay. >> Right. No doubt >> that's what you're charged with. >> Can I just leave and come back? >> No. Well, you want to reschedule your arrest for a better appointment? Yeah. >> But more convenient time. Yeah, that would be nice if we could do that. But we can't. Keep your pants up. >> Okay. >> No, seriously. They're creeping down and I'm not going to look. So, you keep them up. Okay. Go. Go walk. And if if they offer you a shower later, you should take it. Okay. >> Well, hopefully he makes it out here. I'm not sure. He keeps putting his hands in his pants and letting him ride down. And >> I'm going to let him have his own row. >> He did mention he wanted to reschedu his arrest. We'll see what happens. If I hear a bunch of yelling, I'll know it's him. >> Okay. >> I love working down and booking. It's what I like to call controlled chaos. I love not knowing what's coming through the door and it's just one of my favorite place to work. >> Got a couple of code fives coming in. Got uh one male, one female. So, we'll see what's going on. >> Yeah, this guy said he was high on marijuana. His eyes are all glazed over. It's pretty obvious. Um she um was pregnant and on the way down here she was saying she wanted to kill herself. >> Going to cooperate. We take you out of the car. >> I can't go that way, homie. >> Why not? >> You know what I'm saying? Cuz I got to homie. You >> Man, come on. >> Well, I guess he's going to the chair. I I I did it s >> Sit down. No, I don't want to. >> Okay. >> We don't normally get two coives arriving the same time, the same car. originally thought they might be feeding off one another, but uh after I talked to the one, I think they were they would have came in separately. They would probably both be in the restraint chair >> because of what happened when y'all were in that car. You got to be in this chair for 30 minutes at least. I understand, but we don't have no control over that part. So, you got at least 30 minutes to stay quiet and try to stay calm. >> We can't do anything about that right now, right? So listen to this. Stop crying. Listen to this. Are you ready to listen real quick? Okay. So for 30 minutes, stay calm. Try to get yourself together. It's upsetting. It's frustrating, but you want to get to a phone, don't you? >> So 30 minutes is better than 2 hours, right? >> All right. >> I love you, man. I love you. >> 30 minutes. >> I love you, man. Look at me. I love you. >> Apparently, he's her cousin. She called us and said that he had got jumped earlier in the night. Something about retaliation for some other call that we were out on. >> We show up and start asking him what's going on. We can tell that he's high. His eyes are real fogged over. He admitted to us that he'd been smoking marijuana. Um, as soon as we start talking to him, he starts yelling at us. He's sitting on the stairs at the time. He balls his fists up, stands up, and starts walking up to my partner like he's gonna punch him. So, we had to take him down, put him in handcuffs. We walk him around the corner to put him in our car. And then one of the neighbors comes running up to us saying that she was threatening to call somebody to come over and shoot the place up. Um we ended up finding out that she had a warrant for something fairly minor, but and we didn't have any evidence to actually show that she was going to shoot the place up or anything like that. So we just went ahead and arrested her for a warrant. Got them both in the car and they both just started losing their minds, screaming and kicking and you know she started telling us she wanted to kill herself and she's going to have a miscarriage and all this other stuff. Right now at the moment, the charges just an obstructing a police officer on him and a traffic warrant for her. >> Thank you very much. >> Oh my god. Please don't. Oh my god. >> Okay, look. Okay, listen up. Listen up. Listen up. >> Get that [ __ ] away from me. >> Let me explain something to you right now. Your bench warrant is just traffic. It's just traffic. Okay. 12 to 24 hours, you'll be out. But you need to do your part. As I told you before, so far you're doing good. So, it's up to you. If you gonna feed off of this and how he's acting, then I can't help you either. You can't even talk to him. How I'm gonna talk to him? >> That's your cousin. You've known him for how long? >> Yes. >> You can't talk to him. How you expect me to talk to him? I've only seen him for what, 5 minutes? >> I can't communicate with him like that. >> Excuse me, cousin. Can you calm down so she can help you? >> So, I'll come back, but you do your part and you got to worry about what's going on with your kids and what your bill is right now. Okay. >> Yes, ma'am. All right. I'll calm my life. Cousin Dave, she going to help you. Just got to be cool till she come back. She going to help you. >> Ain't nothing wrong, man. >> I'm going to sit here and shut the dead, homie. >> Just like you're doing. >> Okay, now turn to the right. >> Okay, hold on one second. All right, you're going to lean forward. Feet forward. Ready? Ready. Hold on. All right. >> Hello. >> You want to walk towards the wall? >> See that wall over there? Now you're starting the regular process. Okay. Like everyone else, >> we're going to take you out of the chair. We're going to put you in belly change. You're going to be a lot more comfortable. >> All right. >> But you got to be compliant and follow the instructions. >> Since he was arrested in city jurisdiction, officer is going to have to take him to city instead of county. Since his cousin was arrested on a bench warrant, she gets to stay here. >> Okay. You're going to go to that fourth row. Okay. All the way to the fourth row. Pass the red chairs and have a seat. >> Man, come on, man. Man, come on. You mad. I I want be I want to be out, man. I found you. I'm mad. I want to be out. >> Sheniko, you're up. >> I'm let me >> Sometimes we got to make those decision to break family ties and take care of who needs to be taken care of. >> Yes, ma'am. >> He's an adult, right? >> Yes, ma'am. >> Right. >> Yes. It's hard. We got to make decisions sometimes, right? >> Okay. Okay. There's a copy of your charges just like I told you. Bench warrant. All right. Okay. >> No, we're not going. >> You're going to go into this next room. You going to walk through the middle aisle, have a seat on that front row. If you need to get up for anything, you raise your hand. Listen for your name to be called. Okay. All right. Good luck. Go ahead. Sometimes it's hard. You have to break some family ties. She's got to decide she's going to be loyal to her children or to her cousin. And she's going to have to do what she needs to do. Take care of those kids. >> Get out of the ground. >> Somebody's carjacking. >> Uh, no. That's not what really >> uh it looks like a uh a bank robbery just uh just occurred in a different area command and uh it's looks like it's heading this way. >> He's going to be east of our location. The vehicle still going and it looks like uh pick up >> as they wrapped a corner right there. They dropped two suspects and they pretty much jumped out of the vehicle and bailed. There's going to be a couple units going after them. >> Go ahead when you're ready. >> Looks like we're going to do a pit here and then we're going to try and take this guy into custody. >> We got a lot of pedestrians in the area. Standby. like he's uh he's doing pretty good speeds right now. He's about 45 miles an hour. >> Um >> if we get an area where there's not too many pedestrians or traffic attempt to pit maneuver, I'm the one behind them. Uh eastbound. Eastbound. >> Looks like northbound's going to join in with us. >> North with us as well. We are still eastbound. We are getting ready to go. Still eastbound and stand by for the caution. McDaniel McDaniel. >> He's got a flat tire. might take him down here. >> And here he comes. LET ME SEE YOUR HANDS. GET DOWN the ground. >> I need some help. >> Hold on. Hold on. For 413. the legs. >> You have anything on you? >> Negative for weapons. Legs roll over on your butt on the right. >> Stand up. Walk this way. >> We got both. We got >> the other one got taken to cuss corner's office. Um part >> got ID on you? >> No. >> No. >> Anything illegal on you? Sharp's going to poke sick or cut me? >> Nothing. >> What's your first name? >> What's your first name? >> Is that you, Carl? A bag. We got a mask. My gloves. >> Hey, how you doing, friend? You okay? We got medical coming for you. All right. This your wallet. Is your ID in there? >> My social security card's in there. I gave it to uh one of the other officers. >> This I'm going to have medical come check you out. Make sure that you're okay. At this point, we got a lot of time. But the first thing I want to look at me, Carl, look at me. Look at me. Because there's a lot of people whose lives were endangered over the last 20 minutes. Okay. >> I tried to stop it back at the auto parts store, >> but it for some reason you were still intent on going. All right. So, we are going to get this resolved, but first we're going to get you checked out. You understand? Carl, look at me. >> All right. Everybody else that fell out of the car back there by the coroner's office, we have >> What have you been arrested for? >> Okay. Talk to me because it's over at this point. Okay. It's over. It's >> um sir, my brother had nothing to do with nothing. No, no, no. Listen. I'm talking about who you are right now. I'm >> Carl. My brother had nothing to do with nothing, man. I just let him out. I don't want him to get charged or nothing. He had nothing to do with anything. >> I'm just running them right now. I'm trying to find out. He's got prior for attempt murder. Um, battery with deadly weapons, robbery. >> So, he's been at this a long time. >> The other guy, they got him in custody, right? >> And they also found a gun on him. >> Yeah, I did hear they found a gun over there. >> Was there a third one outstanding or >> There was a third one outstanding. I don't think we've picked him up yet. >> Okay. >> But he bailed out way back where the pursuit began. I'm sure these guys won't stand too much longer as to saying who that guy was. So, I'm sure we'll find him. >> He knows he's been had. So, >> yeah. And this is going to be our probably our guy we're looking for anyway. So, especially with his record, >> your car was stuck over there on the railroad because you were driving over there cutting donuts and car >> and uh >> shut the door. Okay, we've got a call of a U gentleman that's left his car on the railroad tracks and is now walking away from it. Uh, okay. We've got some issues. You at BNSF, I guess. >> Yeah. >> Hi. >> I'm Du terminal manager here. >> And where might he be? >> I don't know. >> Unknown. >> Off somewhere off. >> Yeah. back. We're going to just go ahead and drag it back off. I mean, there's no >> Did anybody get a look at him? What he was wearing? >> Uh yeah, I think uh I think the one signal man I think may have uh I think he came right up to the truck and talked to him. >> Uh our subject has uh left the area. So once we find out if it's stolen, we'll see if we can find him. >> Okay. Deputy Adams believes what he thinks he has the suspect over here at this store. This may very well be our suspect. >> If there's any stolen looks like a grave center, >> what's going on this afternoon, man? >> She uh dropped me off. >> What? She dropped you off in >> a van. >> A van? You wouldn't by chance be driving a white GMC pickup, would you? No. >> Come on. No, sir. >> Come on now. >> You see it? You You seem a little dirty. Why? Why are you so dirty? >> Because I work down >> in a machine shop. >> Yep. I'm working again. >> Okay. >> I'm working again. >> Okay. So So you weren't driving a GMC Soma pickup? >> No, sir. >> Cuz you don't want to lie to me, do you? >> Hi. >> How are you? Were you the one watching the uh the video? >> Nope. This guy was hi. How are you? Scott Dean. Um, so we we have a positive identification. Is that my understanding? >> Okay. All right, sir. Go ahead and grind your cigarette there. >> Cigarette out. >> Put your cigarette out. >> Yeah. Stand up here. Come on. All righty. >> I'll explain that in just a second. >> Just a second. Just relax. >> What you are under arrest for is uh >> DUI. Uh because >> DUI for what? Ain't no >> Okay. Well, let's get you set down the air conditioning here and I'll explain it again. >> Air condition just coming up. >> Oh, sit down. Sit down. Watch your head. There you go. >> Scoot. Scoot back in there. Scoot. >> What is this about? >> I'm getting ready to explain it to you. Okay. Well, let me break it down for you. Somebody car jack. >> Uh, no. That's not what really >> Where's my car? >> Uh, your car. >> WHERE'S MY CAR? >> Your car was stuck over there on the railroad where you know it was. >> Where's my car? >> Um, because uh you were driving over there cutting donuts and car >> and uh >> shut the door. >> Shut the door. >> Shut the door. >> Well, I'm trying to explain to you what you're being arrested for, sir. >> No. Go over here. Car. >> No. No. >> Yes. >> No. No. No. No. You didn't. Um. >> Yes. So what you're going to jail for is DUI. >> Carjack. >> You're going to jail for DUI. >> DUI for what? >> For no car. >> You can't. >> You can't. >> Destruction of railroad property. >> You can't >> and obstruction J. >> Okay. >> All right. >> So, we're going to go back over to the railroad tracks now and uh go through the truck more thoroughly and uh see what kind of incriminating evidence we find there. Look what we got here. Scotty, open containers. >> So tell So here, this is what I want to know. >> Give me the truth this time. Tell me what happened for real. >> Okay. We've been here 13 years. >> Okay. >> Me and her got into a little just, you know, just going little fight. >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> It happens. It happens. >> So, how'd you wind up on the railroad tracks, man? >> The truth is I don't freaking know. >> Hell, I tried to get out. >> Okay. Well, I'm just glad a train wasn't coming, man. >> You couldn't move that truck. >> So, I did. I got out. >> I was I walked standing in the store. Don't tell him. >> Here. Here's the thing, man. >> Yeah. >> You can try calling your wife from jail tonight. Okay. >> Another night in the streets. Another night in this hell. I've been kicking and tripping. The cops threw me in jail. Got my fingers ink. They got my hand on the right. Still, please get me out of this jail tonight. Just get me out. I like working down here in booking because every day it's a little bit different. So, it's not stagnant. You're not doing the same thing day after day. And And every day is different. There's different people coming in, different situations. You have the people that come in high and upset and they'll run their mouth. You know, they just want to push your button, see if they can't get a rise out of you. And um that time, that's when you just have to take a deep breath and and uh not let them get to you. >> Is it your wedding night? So, you're out drinking tonight, >> ma'am. Is it your wedding night? Did you get married today? >> I don't have a statement to make. >> You don't have a statement >> until I have a chance to turn. >> Okay. >> Keep your feet spread. >> Are you filling me up? >> I'm patting you down. >> A little >> sexually harassed, >> ma'am. >> Just a little. >> I'm just patting you down. All right. She's not resisting. You don't need >> I'm not even resisting. >> Go ahead and walk third row all the way across to see the nurse. >> Cuz she came in for a DUI liquor. She had driven up in a uh blue pickup truck. Supervisor of parking called us over cuz she was being verbally abusive to the uh toll collector. And um prior to our arrival, she had tried to switch um seats with the passenger. She actually did switch seats with the passenger and um did a field sobriety test on her. She failed. >> Thank you. >> Okay. >> Do you have any medical problems we need to know about? >> You'll have to talk to my doctor about that. >> You don't know what you have? >> You'll have to talk to my doctor. >> Answer his questions. >> Do you take medication for anything? >> You'll have to talk to my doctor about that. >> Okay. She refuses. She's still pretty drunk. >> Don't with me. I'm not that drunk. Don't try to with me. >> Yeah. You're having a mitch, right? >> You're very, very >> No, I'm very angry >> talking. >> What have I said to you? I asked you if you were it was your wedding day or if you were at a Christmas party. >> I can't. >> You can't. >> I can't. >> Believe me. >> We're going to take her back to the side sale. >> You seem to be trembling >> holding on to my arm. >> No, I'm not. >> No, I'm not. Um, it should be. Okay, >> let's take her back. Um, we're going to take her to a side. Oh, you know what? You just want to hurt me. >> You better do a lot more than that, >> man. We're not here to hurt you. >> Oh, obviously you're here to hurt me because you are twisting my arm. >> All right, stop right here. >> Spread your feet. >> Spread your feet out. >> What is it? What better be a girl? Is that a guy? >> Are you putting me in a cell with a guy? >> No, ma'am. They're lovers. All right, listen. I'm asking you to put me in with some lovers. >> Spread your feet. >> I wouldn't do. >> Are you serious? >> Are you really going to be running your mouth like that before you go into the cell with them for a few hours? Ma'am, >> stop be doing that, ma'am. >> Ma'am, you need to stop running your mouth. >> Straight back. Ma'am, >> do not move till you hear the door shut. Otherwise, we're coming back in here. >> All right, I'll check. So, she'll just sit in there and probably tell at least tomorrow morning. Then maybe if she can uh control her attitude and her language, then we'll wrap it up and we'll put her through the rest of the booking process. >> We'll get him. Um, >> sir, face the wall. Yeah. >> Oh, they found drugs. >> They're lactose pills. >> I'm allergic to lactose. >> Something angry tonight, sir. >> No, you guys cracked me out. >> He's um DUI with accident. >> So, what's going on with him? It started out with another officer working another accident and heard a screech. Our suspect was driving a superduty truck, so really large. Um, went head on with the other truck. I take him off to the side to do the fieldy test. He failed that pretty miserably. And you can see where the windshield cracked outward and there's hair and blood in the windshield which basically says he's not wearing a seat belt. So, he's actually really lucky he lived. But the guy on the other truck is who we're waiting to see the status on. He was transported to UMC trauma. This guy's also got a prior DUI. >> What'd you hit? >> Somebody hit me. >> Okay. >> And uh I don't know. I didn't have my seatelt on. >> So you said another vehicle hit you. What vehicle was that? Do you know what kind of vehicle? >> Like a white picker jumped over the curb and hit me. I I tried to go left. I leaned right. >> I guess you're lucky to be alive. >> Thank you, Stephen. I love these guys. >> That I can understand. >> Have a seat in the blue chair. >> His whole story was that the other car jumped the median and slammed into his truck, but it's exactly what he had done. >> Whatever. >> Oh, so you have altered perception of the accident. >> You prove it in court and you can run your mouth. >> Okay. We saw another another officer was out actually on another accident and saw the accident take place in front of >> eyewitness. Nice. >> Yeah, he done hit me >> while you were traveling eastbound in westbound lane. >> Yeah, right. >> So, he might have hit you. >> Yeah, I just pulled out of the parking structure and I'm in a westbound lane. Whatever. >> But he only had one beer >> and the pills. >> Yeah, check those pills out. They're lactose pills. I'm allergic to milk and cheese. >> All right. Thank you for your cooperation, sir. >> Okay, stand up. Sir, we're going this way. Walk straight this way. Here, I'll I'll help you find your way. >> That's nice of you, sweet lady. >> To the left, then to your immediate right. >> Wall. >> All right. So, you need to remain standing against the wall here till you get the door closed behind you. It's just sad. He came out with scratches on his face and the other person's in the hospital. The drunk person always comes out better than the sober person. We constantly have to be on our toes. We don't know what kind of individuals walk through that door. We see people come through the door, they're happy, cheery one minute, next minute they just snap. So tell them that they focus their aggressions on the police officers cuz they're the ones that arrested them. Um once we start patting them down, if they start turning on us, we'll place them in isolation cell until they become cooperative and non-combative. Step back about a foot. Got anything sharp on you? >> Been in the hospital the last 24 hours? No, >> I didn't do it. >> You diabetic? >> I got a learning disorder. >> Are you suicidal? >> No. Well, sometimes. >> Are you suicidal now at this point? >> No, I want to die. Cuz I didn't do anything. >> You want to die cuz you didn't do anything? >> My old lady is is accusing me after >> asking these questions. cuz I need need your response. >> Listen to his question. >> I'm going to take your cuffs off. I want you to put your hand flat on the counter. >> All right, >> I will do so. >> I didn't do anything. I did. >> Take your jacket off. Pass your jacket. >> I didn't do anything. >> I didn't do anything. >> Keep peeling down one layer of clothing. I didn't do anything. >> Have a seat, sir. >> Okay. Here, Terry. Look at me. Here's for your keys. >> Exactly. And here's your identification. So, go ahead and put an sign it or put an X there. Whatever you can do. >> Well, see, you're signing it just fine. >> I didn't do anything. That's what I've been trying to tell you and the officers. >> She slapped me, though. >> She Look at that red bar. >> She abused me. Grab that stuff there. Right over here. >> Have a seat there. >> Feel anything? >> Oh, he's extremely agitated. He's probably intoxicated, too. He's come here on a salt for domestic. He struck his significant other. I don't know his wife or his girlfriend, but he's extremely agitated. He's just not going to listen to what we got to tell him. >> I don't know you. I didn't hit her, so leave me alone. I know she was upset. She didn't have to get me arrested. No, your wife is the most beautiful person in the world. Your question like her or not. >> Yeah, right. >> You like her or not? >> You treat her like >> I treat her like gold. He still treats me like >> Let's hold it down. >> He'll probably stay with us the rest of the night. It's too late for him to bail. >> So, he'll go to court tomorrow and they'll determine what's going to happen to him. We got an uncooperative individual coming in. He's supposed to be a spitter. So, uh, see what kind of demeanor he's got and deal with him accordingly. All right. 12:34. Death with him before. He's spitting. He tried to kick our cage out. We were getting here. His feet are on the driver's side back. Been spitting all over the place. Heads up. You going to spit on her? >> No. No. I just spit him. No. No. I >> Why don't you slide out this way? Your feet are this way, man. Hey. All right. >> Man, dude, these fools. I'm coming. I'm coming. What kind of curious is this? Wait, >> that >> Well, that that's prove to me you ain't going to spit. Take that thing off. >> Look, we're going to spit. But look, he's hella fat. I want him to hit you. >> Got to find out. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. Are you Are you just Are you a Sask? Are you hurt? You >> don't have anything sharp on you, do you? >> That's Nope. >> All right. >> Except you. You're awfully sharp. >> You already searched me already. Oh, yes. I >> cuz we have to. >> That's right. >> Okay. Your hands going to go on the counter. Hey, >> I'm never going to make the course. >> Pay attention. Listen up. Your hands are going on the counter, right? >> Yes. There's some in reception. Don't >> you do this every day like a thousand times? white. >> You're going to be a thousand and one, right? As long as you're cool, everything's going to be all right. >> Then you're not going to make it on the force, dude. >> Take this outer jacket off. >> Okay, go ahead. Take it off. But don't >> you take it off? >> Oh, you going to let me take off my >> Well, I'm taking I'm not going to take the jacket off. >> You need to leave that on. >> I'm not going to spit, dude. I was just hugging movies. I'm not going to spit on you. >> Put it on till we tell you to take >> Well, I'm not going to take the Uhuh. I would look ridiculous with a boot on and no jacket on. Here, take the off like that. This is too jacket. You got to be careful. Here, I've got it. I got it. I got It's tall on me. I don't think I got a button. I never went before. Hold on. Hold on. >> If you would let me. I'm not Phillips. I'm not going to do nothing, dude. I'm not. >> Just relax. >> What? How am I going to relax and stand up at the same time? I'm not going to do nothing. >> But relax. Dude, you sound like rapist. Like this molest me on the way here. If you would let me. I'm going to be if you're beat my ass. I'm going to be very upset. >> Listen to me. What? >> I don't want to make this any harder than you, okay? I want to get you through this nice and simple. Supposed to. >> So, quit flipping around, moving your hands, and being a problem. All you got to do is listen. Listen. Keep your mouth shut. >> Well, I got to breathe out my mouth cuz my nose all congested. I got asthma. Been outside. I've been outside all day and this cold. I'm coming. Come on. That's how you got to do it, bro. Like, punching. >> What you got to do about it, do >> Whoa. Whoa. Hello. Hello. I kicked me again. >> I didn't kick me again. >> I didn't poop. I didn't mean you, dog. I didn't mean to. >> Okay. Second man. >> Oh, thank you. >> Oh, I can't. Hey, I hurt you. >> Let go. >> Face down. Let go. >> Face up. Listen. >> You got to get your boots off. >> Okay. Why you think my voice is going to be cold? >> Why are you sitting here? You're not a drug addict. >> I can help you get these boots off. I mean, you being ass and and I'm >> Okay. Whatever your name is, we're going to leave and if you get up, we're going to tase you. >> Okay. Stomach hand underneath your stomach. >> Other one. >> Okay. Keep your feet up so you don't get closing the door. >> Damn. You guys can get a new job. We got that nursery school. >> Okay. Come on. >> Sit down. You get up. We're going to zap you. >> Okay. Come on. Don't zap. Don't zap me. Don't zap. Say okay. >> Sound like sucking helium. >> He was arrested for he beat up his mom earlier today in the afternoon and he was still he was trying to get back in his house today. So, uh, one of the neighbors called saw him lurking out there. So, we went back there and arrested him. He probably won't get out of isolation cells until sometime in the morning and then uh he'll probably go to court. I've worked for the sheriff's department for going on 7 years now. I work at intake where we process prisoners. I work at various jobs down there. I I do transport. I do the actual booking in of the prisoners where I pat them down and take their property from them, stick it in a bag, give it to the property personnel. >> Yes, sir. >> Right down the center. >> Hell yeah. >> That's what I'm talking about. >> I need to take a >> take these handcuffs off. >> Stop right there, Max. >> Yes, sir. Let's get it. Come on. >> What's your name? >> My name's Ken. Yes, sir. That's my rights, bro. >> Hey, why don't you represent your right to remain silent? Let's do that one. >> I am remaining. >> I bet you won't do that one, will you? >> Can I go use the bathroom? >> Sir, you have to be patted down before you get to go. >> Let's get it then. >> We're going at it. >> We're getting her done. >> Don't you worry about it. >> How many pair of pants you got on? >> Two. >> Two. >> Two pairs of pants. >> Did I lie? >> I'm asking you. Do you have two pairs of pants on? said. >> Yeah. Did I lie? >> You might need to quit drinking, man. >> You might need to quit thinking. >> Yeah, I already know the >> Leave them out of your pockets. >> I already know the drill, man. >> Take a jacket off. First one. >> Come on, man. It's military, dog. >> I got to take a leap, dude. >> Grab your boots. Put them in a special bag for me. >> Yeah, cuz you're a special K. Right over there. Have a seat in the blue benches. >> All right. >> Can I use the bathroom? >> Thank you, sir. >> Taking him back in the back to try to get him fingerprinted and photoed here in a little bit. >> We just want to get them through the process. That's why we try to keep them down here as long as we can. Sir, do you have any serious medical problems? >> Sure. >> Thanks. >> All right. >> Yes. >> You do? What's your name? >> Bobby. >> Is your name Bobby? >> What's your serious medical problem? >> Any beer, Warner, or alcohol today? >> Yes. >> How much, sir? >> Too much. >> How much is too much to you? Too much to me is five. How much is too much to you? >> 1 10 15 15 beers. >> 20 >> 20 beers. >> All right. >> Do you use street drugs? >> Yes. >> What do you use? >> Heroin and um method. >> Heroin. >> Have you swallowed any heroin in the last 24 hours? >> Yes. >> You have swallowed drugs? >> Yes. >> How much have you swallowed? >> Um >> we have a possible ingestion of heron. >> Didn't swallow any drugs. I don't see drugs. >> How many? >> 10c. 10 or 15 cc's of what? Heroin >> or >> you swallowed the drug? Why did you swallow it? >> Cuz I had no choice. >> You had no choice. What do you mean by that? >> Cuz I had no choice. >> Put him over here. >> Walk with us, man. >> Fire department was going to see a pile. They say everything is good. I'm >> sure they would. Yeah. >> Lean over this right here. Lean over this. There you go. How you feeling? We'll stay there. Don't get over there and tell him not to stay until we leave. So you better tell us now. >> No, we already did. He already said he swallowed 10 to 15 cc's of air. All he knew had a guy. >> That's what he said. I asked him why he did it and he goes, "I had no choice." I had a guy on 22 his arm. You could tell it was broken right at the forearm. He goes, "Man, they told me it would delay my court date if I went to the hospital." Said he has a lot of hair on. >> He said 10 to 15 cc's of hair. >> It up. >> Can you take it like that? face. >> Hey buddy, >> it's red cuz he's been hang sitting there. >> Sit up. >> Sit up. >> Let me see your face. >> When did you swallow it? >> We need to call 911. >> He needs to be laid down. >> Lay down. >> Yeah. >> Hey, will you call the medical and give me more nurses? >> Says he swallowed 10 to 15 cc's of heroin today. I asked him why he swallowed it. He said he had no choice. I don't think it's a suicide attempt. was just I think he was getting pulled over and had nowhere to put it so he swallowed it. This is what the outcome is when you swallow drugs. Times you swallow the crack or the heron. >> You didn't swallow her on a crack. Nobody told you to get up. >> You need to lay down and tell the squad. >> Have you done any other drugs today? >> What? cotton >> today. You did? >> Yeah. >> How much oxycottton did you do? >> About 80. >> Did you shoot it up or did you take it orally? >> Fire it. >> What does that mean? >> Fire it. >> When you fire it, >> what does that mean? >> Huh? >> What does that mean when you fire it? Do you swallow it or you shoot it up? Snorted. >> So you did that and heroin and you got drunk. >> What is going on? >> How are you? >> You going this guy ruined it. >> He says he did. >> Oh, he said >> he said he said he swallowed it. >> Prisoner of mine. He was de geared so he's passed out in a yard. Brought him down for a warrant. He's very intoxicated. Seen agent 24 was on scene. >> Yeah. Engine 24 was on scene and says his vital signs were normal on the scene up there. Bring him down here. They asked him if he swallowed anything. He said he swallowed her. >> Of course. >> And then he went limp and kind of >> It's pretty much your call. >> He's intoxicated. >> You want us to take him to the hospital? >> Okay, >> let's go. Sometimes, you know, people know how to to work the system knowing that if they come in and claim this and can play along with the symptoms, they can uh get a little bit of extra time out of jail and just get up to UC for a for a few hours for treatment. Most of the time they end up sending them back. Now this guy is saying he didn't swallow anything. He shot up Oxycontton, but he didn't they didn't swallow anything. >> We just take him to UC, get him checked out, maybe put another charge on for obstruction. >> Did you swallow heroin? Yes or no? >> How much you swallow? I just talked to him now and he did swallow. Harold, >> he doesn't know because he swallowed something. He don't know what he did. He's all >> I got an Oscar nomination here. >> Our nurse evaluated him. His vitals were good. More than not is people that come in here quite frequently. Know uh know what to do. I'm not saying that he's lying or that he's not having any kind of medical issues, but um we're taking him up to the hospital for precautionary measures. >> I'll be back. Door's always open. Take your hands out of your pockets. >> You got rolling papers and everything but the weed. And the only weed that's in the back seat is not yours. >> And like I just got a call here. We got two males fighting at one of our fast food restaurants down here on the strip. >> In front of the business. White male 30 610 130 blonde hair and a gray outfit. got me blonde hair and a gray outfit. I'm here. >> Yeah, he's got a problem. He looks a little amped up. >> What's going on? >> He was I believe the grounds. I don't know what happened. >> Step to the car and take your hands out of your pockets. >> Take your hands out of your pockets and step up to my car. >> That's the second time I've asked you. You're making me nervous. Take your hands out of your pockets and step up to my car. >> Unless you charcoal or something. Take your hands out of your pockets and >> don't resist. >> Now, put your hands behind your back or are you going to get the taser? >> I'm trying. >> Put your hands behind your back, >> man. You know what's up. >> Man, you know I'm trying, man. Just shut up. >> Wrong answer. >> Shut the up. >> Let your hands go. >> Let your hands go. You know, I was trying. >> Trying to do what? >> Trying to let you arrest me. >> Sit up. >> You know what's up. >> Sit up. Now we're going to stand up. >> The only way I'm going to arrest you. >> You ready? We're going to stand up. Stand up. Stand up. >> Now we're going to stand in front of the car. >> That's what I asked you earlier. Right here. >> You know. >> Listen. Listen. Sit down. Sit up. Sit down. You know what? >> No. No. No. No. >> Sit down. Sit down. >> I will sit down. >> Sit down. >> How do you want me to sit down? >> On your butt. >> Ah, there you go. >> What is your problem tonight? >> What is your problem? >> Because people trying to harass me. >> For what? >> What's your first name? >> Being white. >> What's your first name? >> Eric. >> Eric what? >> Excuse me? >> I don't want to release that. >> How much have you been drinking with me? >> Huh? >> About five beers. >> How old are you, man? 22. >> Where's your ID? >> In my wallet. Where the do you think it is? >> Hey, you keep it up with this attitude. You're going to be in jail tonight. You know that, right? >> All right. You ready? We're going to stand up again. >> Let's walk to that car. >> Come on. >> Let's take him out back over by the MD. >> Come on. >> You know what? I'll just walk him over. Come on. >> Come on, man. I >> The guy in the white, >> you know, I didn't know what you had in your pocket and that's why you're in this situation now. should have just showed me your hands. >> Have I done anything to you? >> Let me go, man. >> Come on. Come on. Walk >> hurts. >> I'm going to take them off if you relax. Soon as you relax, I'm going to take them off. >> Come on. >> Right here, B. Right here. Turn around. Right here. >> You want to go home or you want to go to jail? >> Right now, it doesn't really matter. It should matter cuz you don't want you don't want to be in jail with your attitude today. >> What you trying to charm me with? What you trying to trying to do? >> Conduct. >> All right. >> Okay. >> He was leaning over this guy in the hat right here saying, "Let me see your ID. Let me see your ID. You Asian [ __ ] You don't belong in my country." Yeah. >> And uh the guy was ignoring him for like 10 minutes. He's doing it 15 minutes and he was like leaning over spitting on him. You Asian trash. You trash. Get out of my country. >> So this guy got up and was saying, you know, go go away, you know, go inside the store. leave me alone. >> Right. >> And um he was on the phone and he pushed him. What? And so that's when I came over there said, "Hey, knock it off and started calling us monsters." And >> did he do anything? Did he hit you or do anything? >> He tried to attack the other guy I was with >> and he pushed him away and then he had to go and then that's when he started walking away and we called again >> and that's when we came up on him. >> Yeah. And then the manager was coming out and all the managers are like minorities. We're all minorities and he's just you know >> racial slurs and stuff like that. Okay. >> What's his deal? He he said that if we let him go, people here are going to kill him. >> Let's just go ahead and take him to jail and be done with it. >> You smoke weed, you got rolling papers, you got everything but the weed, and the only weed that's in the back seat is not yours. >> Now, you want to try this again? >> Yeah. >> All right. Tell me what happened. >> Now, we're headed to a chain of three nightclubs in the area. Had a lot of drug complaints in it. We get out, talk to some people, see what we can find. Hey, how we doing? >> About to go in there. >> You about to go in there? >> Yeah. >> Smoking a cigarette. >> You are? >> Yeah. Where's your other hand at? He's got something on him. >> He's got something on him. >> Step by the car, player. >> Turn around, face the car. Turn around and face the car. He's No. Turn around and face the car. Put your hands behind your back. I ain't even got nothing on me. >> It's all right. >> I know. You just shoved it in between the seats. >> No, I didn't. >> Ma'am, step out of the car right here. >> That's fine. Set everything down on the seat. >> Sit all your stuff down. >> Sit your stuff down. That's fine. Turn around. Place your hands behind your back. >> How old are you? >> I'm 22. >> 22. Outstanding. Bring it over here. >> All right. From this point forward, all three of you have been detained for our narcotics investigation. Anything you want to tell me about what's in your car? Nobody knows anything? Nobody knows anything? >> Yeah. >> Yeah. What you know? >> What's in the car? >> What's in the car, ma'am? >> Some weed. >> Okay. Where's weed at, man? >> Where in the car, please? >> Right there. And right there where? Be specific, please. In the back. The very back. >> How much weight is in the car approximately? >> Like >> 3 oz. 3 g. 3 lb. >> 3 oz. >> 3 oz. Okay. Is it your weed? >> No, it's somebody else. I just got it from somebody. >> You got it from somebody? What? What are you going to do with it? I was going to smoke it. >> 3 oz. >> And we have packing packaging materials. And what do you know? >> Bingo. >> That's one bag. She claims she has 3 oz. >> Uh I think she got ripped off cuz that that's probably maybe like an ounce and a half, maybe two, unless they smoked up an ounce of it. Unfortunately for her, it's still enough to get her a felony charge of possession with intent to distribute marijuana more than a half ounce. >> Is he vicious? >> No. >> Okay. >> Yeah. >> The story was he wasn't doing anything. He was just sitting here. >> I got pictures of that. >> All right. >> That's originally what I saw. >> Probably about a quarter ounce. The officers who approached the car when we first walked up, who approached the car from the passenger side, saw the uh rear seat passenger, the black man with a baseball cap, uh shoving that item in the seat. So, he's going to get charged for the possession of u of marijuana. Simple possession. At this point, my officer saw you palming the weed. I found the weed in the back seat where you were sitting. Some >> weed? >> Yeah, we found we found it. About a quarter ounce of weed sitting in the in the uh in the back seat where you were sitting. D ain't mine. >> It ain't yours. >> Who else is in the back? Is it a dog? The dog had a weed? >> No. >> Okay. There was nobody back in the back of the car but you and the dog. You got rolling papers. You got everything but the weed. And the only weed that's in the back seat is not yours. >> Now you want to try this again? >> Yeah. >> All right. Tell me what happened. >> All right. Earlier he picked me up from the beach. I had like water on me and we smoked the blunt. That's why I got that package. >> And then I I swear to God I didn't know about the weed in the car. >> Which weed are you talking about? You talking about the weed in the back of the car? >> Yeah. I didn't know about that. >> Okay. Where Where's a quarter you had? >> Um uh I put it in the back of the seat. >> You put in the back of the seat, >> but that was way before y'all came though. >> Okay. >> So I I understand how y'all like cuz that's why I always put it. I mean if I'm like in the car. >> All right. Thanks, man. Appreciate you being honest with me. >> Yeah. I just want to say first of all, we're gonna go ahead and uh take you over to see the matter trip for a bond hearing. All right. Is this your first time ever doing this? >> Mhm. >> All right. >> My first time in trouble, too. >> First time in trouble. All right. He gave me a cat and mouse and the cat always win. We got a lot of people coming for this electric Daisy carnival. I think it's like 140,000. They say projected a night. So, they're all coming in tank tops. It's real hot outside. It's got to be at least 102 right now. A lot of them are coming for possession. I ask everyone. They keep saying the same thing. Possession. Possession. >> Did you come from EDC? >> Were you going? >> You didn't even make it there. Did you go yesterday? >> Yeah. So, what is it like? like a big old they have different plan. >> Do they like to get arrested then if you didn't even make it there? >> Did you know that that's illegal? Yeah. >> You have any piercing? Take your piercing. Okay. Take that out. Nipples. Okay. When did you get here? In Vegas. >> Yeah. Did you come with some friends or what? Yeah. Are they here? >> She's your friend. >> Both of them. Oh, you guys run in the car? >> You know I got to cut this, right? >> How much was this bracelet to go into EDC? >> $400. >> $400. >> All right, let's go back here so you can get yours. I'm >> right here by the comos. >> Let me know when you're ready. Unfortunately, that bracelet I just cut off was $400, which it's going to tally up tonight. Everybody else that'll be coming in with that bracelet. >> Come over here. Sit on that chair where you were at. >> All right. Take all the the bling on your face. You're going to have to take that off, too. >> We're going to have you change out. We're going to switch you out to some pants. >> How old are you? >> 18. >> Parents know you're here. >> Yeah. Turn around. Say something. >> Have to across your chest. >> What kind of drugs did you say you had? You had shrimps in there. >> Shrimps in your on yourself. >> All right. Do me a favor. You're going to continue on your process. Go see the nurse. Third row, first chair. Have a seat. All right. So, obviously we got a total of three arresties. How many people did they have in the back seat? >> They had like five. Five in the back seat. I counted five seat belts. So, uh there was definitely a marijuana odor coming from the vehicle. >> Okay. Show me exactly what you found inside. >> All right. This was underneath the passenger seat. >> So, we got the marijuana. >> Uh-huh. This right here was in the back. There was that little fold in pouch on the back seat right there. This was actually the purse. It appears to have some uh lime juice in there or something. >> Oh, that's right. She said it was lemon juice. >> And that was actually in the uh purse in the passenger side right there. >> Uh this was also found in the back pocket and and you can see the uh the residue all over it. >> All right. Uh have you ever seen psychedelic mushrooms before prior to your law enforcement? >> No, I have not seen those before. >> Yeah, they're pretty distinct, right? There's nothing that really kind of looks like this. So immediately we can recognize that these were elicit narcotics. But after we uh randomize each individual, they admitted that they were psychedelic mushrooms and they were headed to the uh electric daisy carnival. Hey, Delo. So, out of all the days all get somebody here, man. Damn it. If you won't let me stretch out my leg, >> man. Nice and quiet. >> Are we in the last time? >> Did you just have water? I'll just cut her. YEAH. >> GET OFF MY BUTT. >> I DON'T HAVE CUFFS. >> I I do. >> I'VE GOT A CRAP IN MY HIP. GET OFF MY FOOT. >> Get off my foot. >> You're kicking my serge. >> I'm not kicking anybody. And you know what? >> Somebody call 911 now. >> You're here. >> Somebody call 911 now. >> Now, >> ma'am, you already called 911. I have a broken wrist on my right arm and you slammed your handcuffs on it. >> Ma'am, stand up. >> Good. >> NO. >> Stand up, ma'am. >> STAND UP, MA'AM. >> I CAN'T STAND UP, MA'AM. >> Thank God for body cameras. >> Oh, God. SOMEBODY CALL 911, PLEASE. >> MA'AM, we are we are 911. >> We were walking by. She started laying down and she was screaming over here on the on the chairs. She laid down. She was complaining about her hips. We tried to get her to get back up and sit down like everybody else, but she's been causing a scene. She's a little bit uh 421A, so we cuffed her up. We put her over to a side. See if she'll cool down a little bit. >> It's real busy tonight. That Electric Daisy Carnival. Um already had about 20 people coming so far. It's not even 10:00 yet, so it's going to be a real busy night. Couple people already in a code five chair. Just can't follow directions out there. There's about two rows full, which usually only half a row. So, we're rocking and rolling tonight. Uh it's going to be a fun fun exciting night. It's electric Daisy night tonight. We're super busy. A lot of code fives coming in. A lot of people uh half-dressed and keeping us extremely busy in here tonight. >> So, why are you here? Um my friends told me that um girls are not going to um get searched or touched. So um I took their drugs. >> Your friends told you that girls don't get searched or touched. >> Um yeah. >> Spread your feet. >> Some kind of friends you got? >> So it's your first time going? >> Yes. >> Where are you from? >> I'm from Germany. >> Germany. >> Mhm. You came very far to get arrested. Hand on your chest. >> I didn't know exactly what it was. It was just a >> You didn't even look to see what it was. >> It was just some capsules and >> Have you ever been arrested before? Never in your life? You're my second new one. Like the second arresty virgin. Go >> ahead and slip those on. I'm going to have you cover up a little bit. All right, bring your hand down for me. >> We'll find out in a bit what kind of drugs you had and all that cuz it depends what it was and how much. That'll depend uh how long uh your stay with us here in jail will be okay. You're going to be all right. It's not If anything, you're going to have to bail out. You know what I mean? You're going to probably have to bail out. It's your first time. so I can understand your emotions. Go over there. You're going to sit in the third row. First chair. It has a number three on it. Let the nurse know about whatever medications you're on. Okay. Third row. >> Uh what happened with those three that came from the electricity carnival? >> Yeah. So we stopped them. They had I think eight people inside a small Honda Civic. And so the uh driver's view was obstructed by a bunch of placards and EDC stuff hanging from the rearview mirror. Gave us probable cause to stop the vehicle. As soon as we stopped it, um my partner smelled a strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. So upon searching the vehicle, we found quite a bit of uh narcotics. We found some uh psilocybin mushrooms, psychedelic mushrooms, some uh little bit of marijuana, paraphernelia, lemon juice. They they were telling me that supposed to make it taste better cuz I guess these things taste pretty bad. I think they grow it in like >> grown in manure manure. >> And uh one young lady handed this to me. When I uh looked inside and was able to locate looks like some acid hits, you know, we were able to uh intercept this amount. This time in the last 3 years, I think I've confiscated approximately 30 different pills and I've made probably about a dozen arrests in the last 3 years. So, luckily there's some uh pretty uh dangerous narcotics that we took out of the uh the carnival tonight. >> Destiny, come on up here. Selena, come on up here. Come on up here, girls. All right. >> All right, ladies. I'm going to need you to fill these out. Which is which? Which was Destiny? You're being released on your own with continents. That means that you don't have to pay to get out of jail tonight. This is saying that you're going to return to court. That's why you're not paying today. That's why you're getting released. Assign the bottoms. Let me get Ronnie up here, too. All right. I already explained this to the girls. This is your charge. You're going to get a copy of all these charges. All three of you will end up having the same court dates. You guys all know that these are all felony charges, right? >> Yeah. They'll be calling you back here shortly. Okay. It's amazing that people come out here every year for this electric daisy carnival and they don't realize what could really happen to them bringing drugs here and being arrested. It's going to mess up a lot for them and I don't think they really see it there. I mean, they're 20 and 18 and they still got a long ways to go in life. quart to 3 in the morning. Night seems to be winding down a little bit. Um, we'll see. Hopefully, it's winding down, but there's been some times where we said it's winding down and it picks right back up. This is the last day of EDC, which is a 3-day event. So, it's usually a little bit less, but there are still a lot of people, 100 plus thousand still on at the event. So, we're expecting to still be very busy here in the jail with arrest tonight. Were you with those two other girls that got arrested? Yeah. >> How much did you spend on your trip here to Vegas? Um >> alto together with the carnival and everything. >> I would say a little more than 800. >> Probably each one of you guys, huh? >> Yeah. >> All right. Stand inside the box for me and then look straight ahead. >> All right. Look straight ahead this way. Come over here. So, what about the drugs? >> So, it's like a really big thing for people. I barely got into a culture, so I know it means more to some people than it did, >> right? >> How come you're not dressed in all those bright colors or anything? >> I like to be comfortable. You're dancing all night, so you get tired. You don't want to look like trash, >> right? All right. Since this is your first time, basically, you got to raise your hand like school in this next room, okay? You can't get up just for anything. You got to raise your hand first. Listen up for your name. Go over there. When your friends come in here, you can't talk to them. >> Just have a seat right there. Hi. >> Stand up. Those are tights. >> Yeah. >> H >> have to take those off and give you some pants. Okay. >> Cuz they're like strings. >> Pat you down and then I'll take you and change and give you some jail pants and take these off. Okay. Have a seat. >> Are you the med student I heard about? >> No, I'm not in med school. I'm in engineering school. >> Engineering school. Where at? What school? University. >> Reputable University. Very cool. >> Have you been here for all three days for the EDC? >> Is this your first EDC? >> My second. >> Second. >> Yeah. Come on over there. They're going to help you out with some different clothing. Okay. Some of that's not authorized here in the jail. You know, it's interesting some of these young people and their decisions that they make going for engineering at a reputable university, come down to party, make a bad mistake, could ruin their uh chances on their career. You know, this is a felony arrest and if they can't get it to removed from their record because if they get convicted, that doesn't look good for their future. So, it's just sad to see somebody so young make such a silly decision and kind of throw their future away. Oh, you still got >> You're not as young as these other ones coming in. What's going on with you? >> Pick everything up. >> How old are you? >> 57. >> Yeah, it was a good time. >> What are you doing out there at the EDC? You having a good time? >> Young was >> making you feel young? >> Don't feel young anymore. >> You ever done the EDC before? >> This your first time going out there? >> Where you from? Here. >> LA. >> So, do you enjoy until today? >> No, I haven't. I mean, I enjoyed yesterday. Yes. >> Come on over here. >> I think they're going to change out her top and give her a new top. >> Can't have the bedazzling inside the gym. >> Yeah, I know. >> Throw in that rib. So that that sheet of paper you filled out, that's for an O. Okay. So basically what it is >> you're going to get released on your own recgnance, which means you promise you're going to show up to court. It's a charge that they can do that for. Okay? So here's your possession of control substance. Okay? >> It is a felony and it your court's going to be about a month from now. When you get released, >> they're going to give you a piece of paper that has your court date. You better not miss that because if not, they're going to arrest you if they stop you for anything. >> Okay. >> All right. Um, I'm going to have you sit right here and sign for your money. Okay. >> Sophie, do you normally use drugs? No. >> Do you hang out with people that use drugs? >> Um, just like I uh he's not even my friend. He's just a friend of my friend. And >> so you really don't even know him. And what did you think when he told you to hold the drugs for him? I mean, you it didn't you didn't think that what is cuz everybody that's come here that has is involved with EDC is is all drug charges. All right, go ahead. Stand up. You're going to go through there. You're going to sit in the front row, right side, raise your hand before you get up for anything and then listen up for your name when they call you. Okay? Go through here. >> Front row. She's so young and innocent. I mean, common sense would tell you if somebody's telling you to hold drugs, I mean, they're you're risking a lot by doing that. >> Come talk to me right here for just a second. Have a seat here for just a second. I just wanted to talk to you. Actually, I was just interested in your story. You were telling me earlier that you're 57. This your first time at EDC. >> Um, what made Did you go with the friends or I did >> went out there with a bunch of friends and stuff? A >> little bit younger group. I can fit in. Didn't >> fit in very well at all. >> You must have fit in a little bit. >> Never been in trouble. Never did anything. >> You never been in jail any time anywhere or anything like that? >> Well, that's that's a pretty good record. 57 years, right? >> Yeah. probably the oldest person you arrested out there. I'm sure >> this your first time at EDC. You've never been in jail any time anywhere or anything like that? >> Well, that's that's a pretty good record. 57 years, right? Probably the oldest person you arrested out there, I'm sure. >> Well, I'll take him cuz we usually don't deal with too many pleasant people. Do you know what they actually arrested you for today? >> Possession, I >> possession of drug control substance. >> What kind of drugs that were they saying? >> Molly's, >> but I thought it was called ecstasy. That's how old I am. >> Oh, have you ever done that before? >> No, you didn't get to do it this time either. >> Oh, you didn't get to do it? You just had it. >> Probably better. If I were going to get arrested, it would be better. Then I would look like this. Thank you, baby. >> What do you think of this experience? >> I could have lived the rest of my life without this. It's very embarrassing. I really know better. >> Sometimes, you know, we we get caught up in life and mistakes and sometimes that we uh learn a lot from them. I think you're >> Well, I think I got the message. >> Yeah. I think you understand what you should be doing and shouldn't be doing, which is a good thing. All right. Well, we're going to try to get you through this process. Unfortunately, you came in right when just about everybody else did, so it takes a little bit of time to get paperwork processed and things like that, but we'll we'll move you through so we can get out of here as soon as possible. You can get back >> my nap now. >> Take your nap and get back to get back home. >> Yeah. Right. >> I'd like that. >> All right. I appreciate it. All right. Just have a seat back where you were. She's probably the most pleasant lady we've had in here all night tonight that I've had to deal with. Definitely understands that she made a mistake, which is understandable. And I can appreciate people making mistakes and learning from them. And so I think that's uh sometimes that's what jail is supposed to be is you learn from your mistakes. And uh she's one that will learn from mistakes. And I'm pretty sure we'll probably never come back into custody again. I can help you. It's >> the end of a long weekend, EDC weekend. Had a lot more arrest this year than we've had in a long time. And a lot of young people this time. And most of these were all felonies. We had a lot of young girls that put drugs inside of their bras and and hiding them on their person for guys. They took the wrap for them. Not sure if they'd all get convicted yet. The courts will figure that out, but they'll still have that felony arrest on their record. And it's just really unfortunate because on the way into this EDC carnival that they have, they actually have an amnesty box that they can actually get rid of any contraband, i.e. drugs or anything like that. Our narcotic unit was really on it. They had a lot of proactive officers out there making good arrests. So, I'm very happy actually with it. Even though it's been chaotic, we were able to get a lot of drugs off the street and uh away from the actual event. So, I think overall it turned out well. It's just unfortunate some of these young people didn't have a full understanding on what they uh really did. >> I got a little arrest. >> I'm sorry. I am really sorry. >> Just trying to process him here and he's not cooperating. So, we're just going to take him straight to jail. >> You know what? I'm Mexican. So, excuse my stuff. >> What? What does that mean? >> You're racist. >> That doesn't even make any sense. >> Racist. >> Okay. Period. >> Okay. Let's go, Vegas. Let's go. I've always enjoyed working on New Year's. Even though it can be cold, I enjoy coming out here onto the strip and seeing all the people. I'd rather work out here than inside of the jail. It's fun to be out here and to and to see everything that's happening. When the police officers are going to arrest people, we're going to take them back to our buses here in the back, be able to process them just like we would in the jail, but out here mobile. Just setting up one of our processing centers. We set up three or four of these around the strip area every year. We try to process them here the most we can, store them on our buses, then we transport them to the detention center. So, faster we can get the patrol officers back out to the street, the better. Where'd you guys pull this young lady from? >> Right here at the MGM that DV, they were at the bar inside the MGM. She got upset at him and uh she ended up hitting him in the head, being given the groin. When someone's booked into the jail and a special event, we have to bring them into uh what we call our it's like a mobile holding cell. They're on the bus for no longer than 2 hours. Typically they're cited usually class two citations and then we get them booked into the system and then we take them on to CCDC and then they're released a little bit later. This is my third year coming out here for New Year's Eve. I enjoy it in the inside in the jail. We deal with a lot of negativity. Jail's not a happy place. So when you're out here, you have contact with the public. You actually get thank yous. It's not very often you get that in the jail. We're having a lovely time. Thank you. Thank you for having us. >> Excellent. >> Lovely. >> Best ever. >> Good. I hope you guys keep enjoying it. >> Best ever. We'll be back. Thank you so much. >> Oh, you're welcome. Thank you guys for visiting. >> Have a good night. >> You want pictures, too. >> Also, we're here to make a good impression for the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department. Willing to talk to the citizens and the people visiting our lovely town. Let them know that they're safe. It's good to that they see a good presence of police officers on a night like tonight. >> Thank you. And K, how great are the visitors from Australia? >> Oh, they're fantastic. >> Yeah, I went ahead. >> Oh, thank you very much. >> Appreciate it. >> All right. >> I'm sorry. I guess I had Yeah, I'm sorry. I got I got a little arrest. >> I'm sorry. I am really sorry. Put your hand on your >> Put your hand on your head. >> Put on my back, please. I'm not going to do anything. >> Can I put my pants off, please? I'm copy. I guess I'm the fastest. >> I might get arrested again. >> We're just trying to process him here and he's not cooperating. So, >> we're just going to take him straight to jail. There you go, young lady. >> Thank you very much. >> You're welcome. >> Right now, we're moving the crowd back just a little bit. We have our mounted unit coming through. They are able to uh control the crowds a lot better than we can when they get unruly. So, they're going to go out into the crowd. It's getting close to be about 10:00 right now. So, they're going to be out here for the rest of the night through New Year's and make sure that we have good crowd control. >> This is just the start of our New Year's Eve event. Uh it's by 11 o'clock and close to midnight and this is where it starts. Things are going to get crazy. It's going to go by really fast. So our first code five is supposed to be a male coming from one of the casinos. Our first code five is a male coming from one of the casinos. >> He uh went up to six gang unit officers, challenged him to fight. Uh they brought him over our processing center, started fighting us, wouldn't give us his hands or anything like that. Feels that he does not want to be in jail. >> All right, let me go talk to him. >> First name, Eduardo. >> Eduardo, Sergeant North. Where would they pick you up from? >> Strip. the strip >> because all I said was it smells like bacon up in here. >> Okay. So, you're being sarcastic and acting stupid. >> No, I'm not being sarcastic. I think I have a a freedom speech. >> Okay. Uh, how much you been drinking? >> Not really. I am the age and I think I have heard of speech. So, >> Okay. Do you want to cooperate and walk in and get through the process or do you want to >> course? Yes, of course I do. But, um, like I said, >> listen, Eduardo, you're talking over me. You need to be quiet. >> I'm sorry. I'm sorry. >> You have one chance to cooperate. Go in and follow instructions. If you don't, you'll be placed in the chair. Do you understand? >> Yes, I do understand. >> Okay. He's going to try to walk. >> Based on his behavior, he can walk in. If he can't and he fails, then he will be placed in the restrain chair for a cooling down period. Take >> your shirt off. Relax your hands. Take your pinkies. Slide your fingers down. Slide your fingers. Hiding some. Come on. Mexican. >> Slide your fingers down. >> I ain't know what you know. >> Slide your fingers down. Slide them up. >> Put your shirt up to your armpits. >> What was that? >> Nothing. How many times do I have to ask you to >> Nothing. I'm sorry. You going to listen to the whole process? >> Yes, I am. Yes, I am. Okay. Okay. I'm sorry. Yes. >> Yes. >> I'm only going to ask you once. >> Yes. >> Lean forward. >> I told you you'd have one chance and that was it. So, you need to do what they say. Okay. >> Lean forward. >> I'm sorry. I can't speak English. >> Yes, you can. You're speaking perfect English. >> Problem that we have when people walk in from code 5 is that they agree that they're going to cooperate, but especially if they're under the influence of alcohol, they have a hard time following directions, then they end up failing. >> This is not let me breathe. I'm sorry. >> No, I'm serious though. >> I can't breathe. You can talk to me if you can breathe. No, I'm serious. >> Sit in the first row, sir. >> Where's your hat? >> I like the hat. >> Thank you. >> We have to have spirit in here, even though we're stuck here. >> Absolutely. >> This is our New Year's Eve party. Woo! >> It's very exciting. >> Get up, sir. >> Get up, sir. >> Wait, wait, wait. I got one more glove going, >> sir. Sir, you need to get up. Okay. >> All right. >> Get up. >> Oh, don't fall. Don't pull his arm. >> Hey. Hey. You okay now? Are you okay now? >> Come on. >> You going to stay in a chair now? All right. Sit down. >> It's this thing is too tight. I'm not even lying. >> You know, if you just keep put right here, it'll go away. >> You know what? I'm Mexican, so excuse my stuff. >> What? What does that mean? >> You're racist. That doesn't even make any sense. >> Racist. >> Okay. Period. >> Okay. >> Keep breathing. I'll calm you down. Just focus in and out. >> Is this Spanish girl for me? Is Spanish girl good for you? >> Oh, I knew that word. I knew that word. >> Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. >> Just because you understand. We don't disrespect people in here. You understand that? >> Okay. >> Okay. Make sure people don't know Spanish. Make sure people don't know Spanish before you start. >> You understand? >> He's not actively fighting. We'll go ahead and put him in. >> All right, sir. >> What's her name? What's her name? >> Yeah, they think so. >> Yeah. >> Wait, wait for it. He didn't like what I had to tell him and so he started cussing me out in Spanish. Although he didn't realize that officer Rodriguez was right next to me and knew exactly what he was saying. >> What are you saying, bro? >> No, I I didn't say anything. I said, "I ain't good." I mean, that's We all at least last week. >> No. No. No. Not at all. >> Eduardo, >> take your arms out. >> You sobered up a little bit. >> You so it up a little bit. >> What? >> Put your arms across your chest, man. >> Why you being so loud? I'm right here. >> So Mexican. >> That doesn't mean anything. >> Yeah, it means we're loud. No, it doesn't. Mexicans are loud. No, it doesn't. It's terrible. We are. >> Are you feeling better? >> No. Feeling worse. How how's that cell going? >> We're about We're about to have a fight. >> Come here. Come here. >> Hand behind your back, man. >> Yes, sir. >> Hey, New >> Look, we ain't going to have you start no fights and stuff, sir. >> Hey, no, no, no. I don't care what he said. He's sitting down. You got up >> and you realize he's drunk. >> That's not smart. I don't think I committed a crime to be up here. I believe I do have I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I do. I'm sorry. >> All I'm telling you is that's what the court's for. Like, I don't think you'd be here if you hadn't been out drinking. >> It is what it is. >> He started goofing off too early, so he can ring in the new year here in the facility with us. >> It's almost midnight on New Year's Eve. In an hour or two, it's going to be full in here and things are definitely going to be popping off. There we go. Happy new year everybody. >> Happy New Year. >> Happy New Year to you, too. Be safe out there. This is probably the ninth new year I've had to say happy new year on the phone with my family, but I am with my metro family, so I'm bringing it in with family. Either way, >> we got one. >> He's the He's the winner. He is the first customer. First arrest of 2015 here in Vegas. Thank you, sir. If you let go, >> just relax on your >> sir. It's a new year. Calm down. >> Resisting, man. Arms up, man. >> Listen, you need to listen what you're going to do and you want just >> You're twisting my arms up, man. That hurts. >> They're coming off in a second. >> I already gave up, man. Why you keep with me? >> You're not following directions. >> My arms ARE ABOUT TO BREAK. >> YOU NEED TO calm down. >> I give up, sir. >> We're yelling. Okay, but my hands are not resisting anything. >> We bring him to our processing station here. Basically, we take all this property off, inventory it, take the handcuffs off, put them in the belly chains. >> What's your first name? >> It's on my ID. >> It's on his ID. See, now that's the problem with you. You're going to jail, so you might as well just >> Well, there's ID, man. Let me see. See this guy? I'm not even resistant for a sergeant. Hey, put him on the ground. >> No, I'm stuck. I'm stop. >> What's your first name then? >> Lazero, bro. L A Z A R O. >> Hey, what happened with this guy today? >> We were escorting the fire department through the crowd because they had a medical emergency. They were carrying a guy on the stretcher. This guy yells, "F the police." Uh, basically takes his friend and pushes him into the fire department, guys. Which almost caused the patient to fall um and get dropped. So, we grabbed him and arrested him real quick. Brought him back here. >> What did I do? I'm pretty close, man. Please get the jacket on. Alcohol seems to have got the best of him tonight. So, I let him sit on the bus till we get a load to take back to CCDC. >> Looks like some patrol officers brought in a class two for us. What this guy end up doing? >> His buddy him decided to go in Pepper Mill, ate a meal. He ate a steak, chicken fingers, ordered a drink, having a good time. his friend and him to uh basically stated to each other they going to to uh decide to leave the establishment without paying. They had no money. He approached the manager, asked the manager uh he to step out for a smoke. The manager kind of count on what was going on. They called for us and we arrived and took him to custody. He basically admitted it to us that he had no money to pay for me homeless and has been out here from Washington. We're out of job, which I understand, but fortunately he can't do that. >> How you doing, young man? >> Good. >> What's your name? >> Jacob. >> Jacob, how you doing? I'm Sergeant Peterson. Nice to meet you. >> It's a little cold out here tonight, is it? >> Yeah, it's freezing. >> Once we're done here in just a minute, we're going to get you on that bus so you can get a little bit warm. So, do you understand what you did was wrong, though? Right. >> All right. How long have you been homeless? >> Um, a month. >> A month. >> Yeah. >> What brought you to Vegas? >> The city itself. Just the monumental way it is and stuff, you know. >> Yeah. >> I had a job for a little while. Got fired from there. didn't have a place to stay and ended up just wandering the streets and ending up with the wrong crowd. >> All right. All right, Jacob. Be good. >> We'll stick in this property. You want to spend a night at CCDC? Get by the cold for a little bit. >> We still get a hot meal in there. >> That's right. Free. >> Stand up. Stand up. Stand up. >> It amazes me the type of people and the things that we get out here. Everything in between comes out here celebrating the new year here in Las Vegas. Looks like we have three people coming in. Not sure the circumstances yet. >> There's no reason to get upset, >> but I feel >> Why not? >> He's not going to be punished for what you've done. >> Get in trouble for what he did, not for what you did. >> Officer, >> he's my baby brother. >> What happened tonight? >> Uh, we just beat my little brother, guys. You know how brothers are. >> Oh, you guys got into a little scuffle? Yeah, it wasn't a big deal. >> Both of them were your brothers? Yes. >> You're all three brothers? >> Y'all three got into it? >> No. No. No. Little one didn't have nothing to do with it at all. >> Oh, he was just there. >> Yeah, he was there and he got he fell into it. Just let him go, man. He didn't do nothing. >> Well, that's not my decision. That's the officers who arrest. >> Basically, we just got some citiz going on. And they were fighting with one other guy, >> but they're just so drunk that they don't even know what they're doing. >> Yeah. They're very intoxicated. They're all over the place. >> Yeah. This guy's got like a footprint on his forehead. Doesn't even know how that happened. >> Yeah. He's 19. And by the time he's been drinking, too, huh? Yeah. By the time he got up off the ground, his pants are down around his ankles. Just just a mess. >> How'd you get that mark on your head tonight? >> Uh, actually mark uh I've been there. Uh, >> no. There's like a black mark going all the way across. Almost looks like somebody stepped on you. >> That's how I've been there. I don't know. Oh, yeah. The mark. >> Can you tell me what happened tonight? guys uh caught me and I uh I've been them. I've been there with them. >> All right. You know what we caught you doing? >> What you got me doing? >> You know what we caught you doing? >> What you got me doing? >> Okay. >> I know. I never had any kind of history. I knew that. >> I don't know if they're actually brothers or if they're just >> friends, inter brothers. So, they're actually going to be booked. They're going to spend the night in jail then instead of just a couple hours. >> All right. 2014 2015 is over. The barricades are down. Our buses are out of here. We're still going to have a few officers out here. We do some last minute pickups if we need to, but other than that, the main part of us are out of here. We're going to go head back to the jail. >> Happy New Year. >> You guys, >> what are you doing? Why are you up moving around? >> I sit next to my brother. >> What just happened? Oh, all three of you guys are brothers. When Why are you in here? >> Cuz me and my my brother were horse playing. >> Do nothing to hit your brother. Your brother, right? >> So, where were your horse playing at? >> Like right by the the PH. >> So, what got you in this situation right here? You horse playing in front of the horse playing. The cops took it out out of context. >> No, they seen us as we were fighting in there. >> Yeah, they thought it was fighting with each other. We're just playing with each other. >> Yeah, they did their duty. >> He got a He's got a little dirt on his head. You guys roughed up pretty good. >> No, that was him. That was us. >> That's you, too. >> Me and him. >> So, why is he your brother? Why is he here then? >> Um, >> he was in between us. >> They They came He came afterwards when the cops when he seen the cops were were trying to apprehend us, he he came to >> and they they apprehended him. >> They apprehended him on top of >> your first time being arrested. >> No, sir. >> How many times have you been arrested? >> Three times. >> And you? >> About about six. >> How much have you had to drink? >> Oh, I only had a couple drinks. >> And you? >> Couple drinks, too. I'm 30 years old. I mean, >> what's what's a couple? Um, two drinks. Literally two drinks. >> Hard liquor or beer? >> No, that that hard liquor. >> It was It was one beer and hard liquor, baby. >> Okay. What about you? Do you drink me? No, >> sir. >> No, sir. No, he he's a he's a good guy. He's a He's a really good kid. He's sleepy, man. >> Oh, he doesn't go to school. >> We actually took him out with us. Let him see the fireworks. >> We want really We didn't really try to take him out, >> but you know what? He didn't want to end up like this, though. >> No, no. Cops arrested us for for for like teasing or with each other. We're like, "What's going on here?" Like, "What are the charges?" I mean, >> they got me handcuffed me. explain to me what is the actual like charge that we're being charged with. They're like, "Oh, um, you guys have been drinking tonight and um, >> so on and so forth, but like, hey, we're just having fun with each other. We always have fun with each other. >> It was a very good New Year's out there for us. I know it's been a little bit busier inside the jail, but we were quiet on our processing center, but it was cold. I think that probably kept a lot of people inside. So, we had a good year. 2014's now over. We're ready for 2015 and we'll be ready to go then. >> Inside the fountain, the Mirage. What do you do? Just jump in there and grab a handful of change and throw it in your pockets. It's >> just survival. That's all it is. >> Don't let me see you out here again. You understand? >> Lesbian. >> I don't care. He's actually grabbing her breasts and uh she's not stopping him. >> Getting a call here. says that there's a mill walking around inside the fountains of the Mirage. What they'll do is they'll come down here and jump the fence and probably one of the local vagrants and grab a handful of chains out of the fountain, too. >> What's that? >> Well, here's here's his wet footprints here. So, >> he probably took off. >> Yeah. Well, he was wearing all blue. You said >> all black. He was like all black >> mustache be in the 30s 40s. >> And you don't see him down that way. Is that him there? >> He had a hat on. >> Glasses. >> How much change you get? >> Oh, a little bit. >> Drop your Drop the What do you got in your hands? Nothing. >> Okay. >> Put your hands behind your back. Palms together. Just stand over there for me, sir. >> Little hard to deny it when you got wet pants, huh? >> Yeah. True. >> Yeah. So, what are you doing in the fountain? >> Spread your feet apart. >> Taking change >> a little. Yeah. >> All right. So, you don't mind if I take everything out of your pockets, right? >> No. >> All right. You got ID on you? >> No. >> No? >> No. >> What have you been arrested for? >> Uh, I got one felony, trespassing, things like that. >> Felony for what? >> Grand lararseny. >> Grand lararseny. You got a drug problem? >> No. >> No. >> No. >> This is just easier stealing change than it is to ask for it. Huh? >> It's just No. I just refuse to beg. I got pride. What's left of it. Well, you got a whole pocket full of change, huh? Yeah. >> How often do you do this? >> Oh, every other night. >> Every other night. Right here in this one. >> Well, a few. >> How much you usually make? >> Try to make 15. That's all. >> Wow. As of right now, you're not under arrest, but you are going to handcuff. I figure out what's going on. Okay. >> Got a whole pocket full of change here. Huh. >> This is the big one. That was my last last one for the night. >> This was your last one for the night? >> Yep. >> So, what do you do? Just jump in there and grab a handful of change and throw it in your pockets? It's >> just uh survival. That's all it is. It's all it is for me. >> I've been here 17 years. It's only been working for four. >> How long you been homeless? >> About six. >> Six years. >> Yeah. >> So, you just wait till it's dark. >> Yeah. When no one's walking around, jump over and >> grab a handful of chains. >> Daytime. It's too embarrassing to do it during the daytime. I mean, I I tried to keep a low profile on it. >> Well, there's a lot. It's >> kind of hard to keep a low It's kind of hard to keep a low profile, don't you think? >> Hard to keep track of everything that >> Well, listen to me. It's kind of hard to keep a low profile when you're jumping out of a fountain. People are tracking you. Now, I tracked your foot trail from back there because when you jump out of the water and you got wet shoes, it tends to leave a little wet trail. Here's what I'm going to do. You don't have any warrants, okay? I'm going to cut you loose with the warning, but your hard work for the night. It's probably going to hit you worse in the pocketbook than anything else. So, you're going to grab all this money and you're going to throw it back in the fountain and you're going to be on your way. Don't let me see you down here doing it again. I appreciate appreciate you not standing out here begging people for money because I know when I go on vacation, that's the last thing I want is someone sitting there begging me for money. Just throw it in there. Don't let me see you out here again. You understand? He's on his way. He won't be back. If he's comes back next time, we'll take him to jail. >> One DB 13. One minute one. >> Standby. DB3. Hey, I got a guy out here fishing for coins in the pond in front of Mirage. WA Brown, glasses. I don't know if it's the same suspect as yours. >> Affirm. It sounds like the same subject. One of my partners over here just called me on the radio. Sounds like he's out with the same subject. I just gave you a break and you have to come back and grab some more money, right? >> You guys saw him before, huh? >> Yeah. This is the guy we stopped before. I made him throw all the money back in the water. So, he was back in here. >> Yeah. Yeah, you went and got a couple more handfuls and uh >> came back. >> Well, guess what? Now you're without money and you're going to jail. You just don't learn, do you? >> It's It's hard to leave it. >> It's hard to leave it. >> It's hard to leave it. I mean, all that work from nothing. What kind of work is it? You jumped in the water and you picked the coins. >> This guy's all over. He's actually grabbing her breasts and she's not stopping her. >> No, I'm gay. >> Yeah, but you were just kissing this guy in the street. I'm a >> lesbian. >> I don't care. Got it. >> Got a couple of females up here kissing on each other. Now they're walking away from each other. Now she's kissing on some guy that just walked by her. This guy's all over. >> He's actually grabbing her breasts and uh she's not stopping them. Don't like the way this is going. People are seeing him grab her like that. >> Her other friend just jumped into an SUV. >> Be three times on the boulevard in front of Hawaii Marketplace. You >> go get him. Can I talk to both of you over here, please? Thank you. >> What is that, man? >> Both of you over here. >> Both of us. >> Oh my god. >> Come here. >> No. My girl. >> She jumped in a car already. >> Shut up. >> Yeah, she jumped in a car. >> Shut up. >> Okay. She jumped in the car. >> What am I? >> My girl. >> Yeah. >> Oh my god. >> Front of my car. Where's your ID, ma'am? It's in my hand. >> Okay, relax. How much you had to drink? >> Huh? >> Jody. >> How do you know the young lady? >> I just met this young lady, sir. >> Okay. Where's your ID? >> I was just showing her a CD I'm giving away, man. You >> Okay. Don't put your hands in your pocket yet. Don't put your hands in your pockets. Put it behind your back. >> That's my girl. >> She jumped in one of those SUVs. >> Don't hit my car. It hurts. >> No. Don't. Don't. If you hit it again, I'm going to put you in handcuffs. >> My girl, >> I didn't jump in a car with her. She jumped in a car with somebody else. Don't hit the car again. >> My girl won't jump in the car. >> She did. >> What do you do for a living? Yo, face the front. >> Put your knees on the bumper. >> All right, dog. >> I sell homes. >> What? >> I sell homes. >> You do? You're real estate. >> So why are you out here like this? You're a mess. Hey, >> you're out here on me. You're grabbing guys on the street and you're kissing them. You don't know who they are. >> No, I'm gay. >> Yeah, but you were just kissing this guy in the street. >> No. >> Yeah, I saw my girlfriend. >> Okay. All right. Just relax. >> Neither of them. The one guy has a a little minor record, but she doesn't have any kind of record. They're both a little intoxicated. >> They don't even know each other's names. They hook up in the middle of the street. >> They're all over each other. She says she's gay. She insists she's gay. She keeps telling me she's gay. Now she's going off with a guy. She's a little bit confused, but you know. >> Hope she doesn't regret it in the morning. >> You're cool. >> No, he with you cuz you ain't white. Tell him it's prejudiced. >> Do you want to go in handcuffs? >> No. >> Do you want Well, why are you telling him? The reason I stopped him is cuz he he ain't white. The reason I stopped him because he was all over you and you were all over him and you weren't together when we first got here. That's why I stopped him. I stopped him and you to make sure you or your friend were okay. Now you'll stop talking to him like that or you'll be in handcuffs for trying to start a fight. Do you understand me? Do you understand me? Don't lean into me again. Do you understand me? >> Yeah. >> Lesbian. >> I don't care. Okay. Man, why you fighting? Why you bassing me, dog? Why? >> Put your hands behind your back. >> Palms together like you're praying. >> Let's go. Let's get rolling. >> Those bikes. Let's go. >> You going in handcuffs till I figure out what's going on. >> They come off just as fast as they go on. I feel more comfortable. You in handcuffs right now. Relax. >> I'm a Christian. >> You relax, too. And stop inciting him. >> Yes, you are. in Las Vegas. >> Can I have your cross? >> Yeah. Oh, no. Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. >> Take it. >> Oh, wait. I want to talk to you after we get out of here. Okay. >> You didn't do anything. >> I'm gay though. >> It's okay. I'll be your friend. >> Okay. So, what are you up here doing? >> I'm up here giving CDs away. >> Giving? >> Yeah. Giving >> or selling? Are you accepting any money from people or giving to you? >> I'm giving them away. >> I'm going to give you this. I'm going to put take the handcuffs off. You're going to take a walk. All right? And I don't want you up here again. And don't be taking advantage of drunk females who will come up to you in the street, especially ones that start kissing on you and your hands go to places they shouldn't be. >> You know what I'm talking about? >> What am I talking about? >> Not to take advantage of young fans to come kiss on me. >> Yeah. And what were you grabbing? >> Boobs. >> Boobs. >> Exactly. >> Thank you. >> There's lots of people walking out here. They don't want to see that. >> Hang on a second. Rub your wrist. Loosen them up. You young lady, go back to Polo Towers. Your friend will show up eventually. Try and avoid other guys in the street or women. >> Newly released video footage shows what the DA says is an undocumented immigrant on a stabbing spree on the Las Vegas strip. I go through the disturbing details of the case of Yonyi Berios as he's accused of murder and an act of terrorism. Welcome to Crime Fix. I'm Anget Levy. If you've ever been to Las Vegas, you know how busy the Las Vegas strip is. There are people out and about at all hours of the day and night. So imagine being there and a man starts running around with a knife and stabbing people. A Las Vegas grand jury has indicted 34year-old Yonyi Berios for going on a fatal stabbing rampage back in 2022. The brutal attack left two people dead and six injured. Now, Barios faces additional charges, including an act of terrorism and six counts of battery, along with his original two counts of murder and six counts of attempted murder. The Clark County Coroner's Office identified the people who were killed as 47year-old Brent Howlet and 30-year-old Maris DGiovani. Police say that Barios, before this happened, was in the Win Hotel looking for work before asking a hotel janitor to contact US Immigration and Customs Enforcement to return him to Guatemala. He was allegedly trying to sell his knives for money to travel back to his home country. Barios, who was in the country illegally, identified himself as a chef and asked to take a photo with some performers. According to the police report, Barios thought the show girls were laughing at his clothes and that's when he said he quote let the anger out. Video captured Barios chasing after Maris DGiovani outside the Win Hotel and he stabbed her straight in the heart. DGiovani died in the arms of another showgirl, Anna Wetsby, who suffered a punctured lung from the attack. The CCTV footage, which we've frozen into still frames, continues to track the knife wielding suspect as he ran down the sidewalk, stabbing four more people. Las Vegas Metro Police eventually detained Berios at the Venetian Expo, and he was still wearing his blood soaked chef's long-sleeved white jacket. Initially, he was charged with two counts of murder and six counts of attempted murder. Officers found the foot long kitchen knife in some bushes nearby that they believe Barios discarded while he was running away. Barios told police that he came to Vegas just 2 days earlier to move in with a friend. But when that friend refused to let him stay, he packed his things and took a bus to the strip. Among the victims were a group of showg girls and bystanders walking outside the casino and all just seemed to be there minding their own business. Remember, this is the Las Vegas strip. There are a lot of people around with tourists and cops constantly patrolling the area, and these victims were not expecting anything violent to happen. At one point, the police report mentions Barios told one of the victims, "Sorry, man." before stabbing him in the back. One of the two people killed was 47year-old Brent Howlet. I mentioned him earlier. He was visiting Las Vegas with his wife from their home in Canada. The couple was traveling the world and their last stop was Vegas, which according to Brent's wife was his favorite place. His wife described him as quote, "A great soul and loving spirit. He could make friends with anyone. He loved three things above all else. His wife Carmelita, his friends, and animals." She created a new welfare foundation in his honor. The Showgirls were a part of the best show girls in Vegas modeling and talent agency. And in the 12 years it's been around, they said they've not had any arrests or injuries to their performers. Maris Diovani was described as an exceptional young woman by her boss at the agency who was always looking out for the girls. Diovani also traveled to Hong Kong to teach English to children there. Her brother released a statement saying Maris always saw the best in people, always gave them a chance, and always accepted people for who they were. Her huge capacity for love led her to have lasting friendships from all over the world. She was a beautiful spirit and we will miss her for the rest of our lives. When Barios first appeared in court back in 2022, defense attorneys told the judge that stress could have induced a psychotic episode. Later that year, a judge declared Barios unfit for trial and ordered him to stay in a state hospital. And last month, a judge deemed him competent to stand trial after receiving treatment. And now, Clark County prosecutors say they will seek the death penalty against Joanie Berios. Months before the attack, Berios was posting on his Facebook page, giving the impression that he was living a very lavish lifestyle. His last post, which was one day before the attacks, condemned a notorious biker gang allegedly involved with violent killings in New Zealand. He appeared in court Thursday, where his arraignment was continued from last month. Are you familiar with the 15 charges that you're facing? >> Do you understand those charges? >> Yes. >> As to those charges, how do you plead? Guilty or not guilty? >> No, you'll be wrong. >> In case you had trouble hearing that, Yonyi Berios pleaded not guilty. His lawyer named a medication he is taking that is used to treat schizophrenia and bipolar disorder. His attorney also questioned his client facing an act of terrorism charge and the assistant district attorney responded. >> Uh when I got the notice of intent to seek death penalty, I was a little surprised to be honest at the way that it read. It included acts of terrorism. My brief research this morning um is that Nevada's terrorism statute is wide open. The reason I was surprised is because there doesn't appear to be any political motive or what happened in this case that we are aware of. Um, but Nevada doesn't appear to require that. I think the feds do. I suspect it will be subject to litigation at some point down the line. I don't know that I I need to attack it >> via probable cause challenge um or rent, but I want to make sure that I've got all my bases covered and to do the research given my logistic situation with closing down shop at the public defender office. I would like the additional time. >> Any objection to the 45 days, Mr. Got? >> No, I'll just note unfortunately for Mr. Barios that terrorism in Nevada is just an act of violence. intended to cause death to the general population. >> I want to bring in Bridget Williams. She's an attorney who practices in Texas. Bridget, one of the things that I find interesting about this case is the fact that they've brought in this terrorism aspect of it. They filed a charge that these things were committed as an act of terrorism, these uh stabbings. So, what are your thoughts on that? because I I found that to be um something interesting that has developed in this case as they've brought this new indictment. >> It is something interesting. I think it's a bit of a stretch in order to say that this is an act of terrorism. We don't know if it is or not based off of the current facts. We do know that this individual is um from Guatemala as it was laid out in some of the the information that we have currently. Um, but that still doesn't rise to the level of it being an act of terrorism. There has to be something else that caused it and influenced it to be an act of terrorism. However, these actions are clearly very heinous and disturbing and frightening. Um, I completely get that. But I think an act of terrorism at this point with the information that we have is going to be a stretch. >> Yeah. um the acts of terrorism, you know, um it's I'm looking at the statute right now right now in Nevada and it says, you know, um it doesn't lay out exactly what they think that act of terrorism is, but you know, there are all these things that discuss, you know, a person shall not knowingly or intentionally aid, further or conceal or attempt to aid, further or conceal an act of terrorism. I mean, the terrorism could have been that he's just, I guess, going around. I mean, he caused an chaos and fear among a large group of people. So, I don't I don't know if maybe that's where they're going with this. Plus, people died as a result. Two people were killed and others were injured. >> That that could be the direction that they're going in. But again, that still in my mind as a criminal defense attorney, personal injury attorney right at this time, that in my mind that doesn't rise to an act of terrorism. that is first-degree murder where those individuals died. Attempted murder for the people who um that he stabbed and did not die. So, we have that there. Um we also have assault with a deadly weapon. So, that's there as well. Um I just I think that there needs to be some more information for us to move to an act of terror. his attorneys have uh raised this whole issue about his mental health and he was not found competent to stand trial when this first happened. He was in a mental health hospital for some time, I mean a couple of years. So now he's been deemed to stand trial or he's been deemed competent, which means he can aid in his defense. So they didn't believe at the time that he was able to aid in his defense like there was his mental state was not so that he could do that. So do you anticipate some sort of not guilty by you know reason of insanity? Do do you do you anticipate that as the defense in this case? >> I anticipate that being the only defense. Right. I mean, we don't have any other information for there to be any other defenses in this type of situation based off of the information that we have. He is one, he starts this off with carrying around a foot long kitchen knife. That's a butcher knife. And just because you can do something doesn't mean that you should be doing something, right? And so as he's doing that, um, he, you know, has his interaction with these showg girls and he believes that because they are laughing at him, he decides that he's going to stab these people and then goes on this random stabbing spree. The only thing that could be a defense in this type of situation would be insanity. There's no there's no other defenses that are outlined or able to be made here in this in my opinion. Um, and so when he does that, it's either that or they are just really trying to prevent him from getting the death penalty. Sometimes as defense attorneys, that's our job is to make sure that the person doesn't get the death penalty. Um, and so that could also be what the strategy is as well because in a situation with multiple murders, that person then qualifies for the death penalty >> and they are going to pursue the death penalty. They've said that um the prosecutors. So, the district attorney uh plans to pursue the death penalty. I mean, this is this is really the allegations are really heinous. I mean, he's in the Wind Hotel. Um you know, then he goes and talks to some show girls and according to the police report, he he felt like they were laughing at him and then he just let his anger out. Uh so, I don't know. I guess you could see that as a mental health thing, but it it to me though says, you know, if that's what he said that he's cognizant of what he's doing. That could be an interpretation that he he does understand that he knows what he's doing or clearly at the time when that first happened two years ago, um that he was deemed not to understand right from wrong and that's when he was deemed someone that could was not competent to stand trial. And so he may or may not at this time now understand what that is. Clearly the court now believes that he does understand right from wrong. Um I think that he is going to again be for his defense council. And if I were the defense council, the only defense in this situation would be insanity or just trying to make sure that he does not get the death penalty. that's going to be the only ways for for the defense council to move forward with a strategy here. >> It's just such an awful sad case. I mean, I've been to Las Vegas. You just walk down the street. I mean, there's so many people there, Bridget. I mean, it's just horrific. And people should be able to walk down the street without a fear of being, you know, murdered, uh, stabbed, no matter where they are, uh, in this country. You know, one of the things that's interesting, there's been some reporting about this. Um, the fact that this guy, he went to Vegas from LA, and apparently he had been charged um back in 20, there was a 2018 incident, and he had been charged in 2019 with the domestic violence incident. And if he had been convicted of that, he could have been sentenced to up to four years in prison. So could have I say because you know you don't know if he would have gotten that much time but um there the case lagged in the system and it wasn't prosecuted in time. So the case was dismissed. So there was there were a lot of questions about that like why did the DA's office out there kind of drop the ball on this case? >> Yeah, that happens more often than not. Um, a lot of times whenever a case is presented to the district attorney's office, it's the DA's responsibility to either accept or reject that case from the police department. So, the police department presents the case to the DA's office and then they accept it or reject it and then decide to move forward with prosecution. If they do not do that, they only have a set amount of time to do that. Um, I know here in Texas on misdemeanor cases, that's 2 years. Felony cases, it can be five or 10. So it just depends. But if they do not do that, then that statute runs. Then they no longer have an opportunity to bring that case and therefore like you just stated, it can be dismissed and even after that it can be expuned. So the he didn't apply for that expungement clearly because you're we're able to see it. But if he had applied for an expungement, that may have even been something that could have not shown up at all and we would have never known about it. So, the DA's office dropping that ball and not prosecuting that case qualifies for him to even have that case be expuned from his record. >> Well, it's um you know, back to the Vegas case, it's just awful. Uh a terrible, terrible thing and we'll keep an eye on it to see where it goes as it moves through the system and how it progresses. Bridget Williams, thank you so much. >> Thank you so much for having me. >> I appreciate that. But I think it's time that he gets a taste of something else because I just can't with that history in accordance with the laws of state as far AS >> WELL, he's the guy who made headlines by jumping over the bench and attacking the judge who was about to sentence him to prison. Let's do a deeper dive into this absolutely insane case with the Honorable Mitchell Goldberg, United States District Court Judge for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. Welcome to Sidebar, presented by Law and Crime. I'm Jesse Weber. We got to talk about this case. It's one that actually was all over in the news, but we haven't had a chance to really tackle it. This is the guy who jumped over the bench and attacked a judge out of Nevada. You know what I'm talking about. The defendant is 30-year-old Deborra Redden, and he was in Clark County District Court in front of Judge Mary Kay Holus. This is a guy, by the way, with an extensive criminal record of felonies and misdemeanors, including for domestic violence and robberies. And he was in court that day to face sentencing after pleading guilty to an attempted battery charge for a baseball attack, a baseball bat attack, I should say. He actually plead guilty to this reduced charge. Initially, he was charged with assault with a deadly weapon. So, now he's in court. He's going to be sentenced. Now during this hearing, his attorney was asking for probation, not any kind of prison time. And Rein makes a statement that he is a person who never stops trying to do the right thing no matter how hard it is. Says that I'm not a rebellious person. This is what he tells the judge. But he also says that, you know, in terms of prison, if the sentence, if it's appropriate for you, then you have to do what you have to do. Okay. Well, it seemed that Judge Holus was going to do what she had to do because she was indicating that probation wasn't sufficient. She said, "I appreciate that, but I think it's time that he get a taste of something else because I just can't with that history." Right after she makes that statement, right after Redden curses her out, sprints towards the judge, vaults over the bench, and attacks her. It's incredible to see. I mean, really, really incredible. You You want to talk about him not being a rebellious person? What do you think that is? I mean, imagine that. He ends up fighting with the judge, you know, grabs her hair, uh, her head hits the wall, he fights the clerk, the marshall, a police officer. He's facing a slew of new charges. Counts of battery on a protected person, battery of an officer, battery by a prisoner, intimidating a public officer, extortion, and even attempted murder. A court marshal had to receive all these stitches. He suffered a dislocated shoulder. According to authorities, apparently the judge, as I said, her head was hit in the wall. Rein put his hands around her throat. She sustained some injuries, but she was okay. How do I know she was okay? Because she was back in court, back at work, only days later officially sentenced Reen. He was brought back into her courtroom again. this time in restraints, gloves, a spit mask. She ended up sentencing him to 19 months to 4 years in prison on that original charge. But now, like I said, he faces all of these new charges because of what he did in court. Now, with that in mind, let me bring on right now a special guest, the Honorable Mitchell Goldberg, United States District Court Judge for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. Thank you so much for coming on, judge. What a story to talk about. Uh, let me first just get your reaction to seeing this because it's not every day you see a judge being attacked in his or her own courtroom. >> Thank you for having me on, Jesse. And my reaction was probably the same as every judge, state and federal, in the country, who saw it. It was horrifying uh that someone with that kind of record was able to get that close to a jurist and actually, you know, inflict some what could have been a lot worse harm on uh her and and her staff. I I hadn't heard the extent of the injuries, but uh what I observed, and I did watch the video, it it could have been a lot worse. >> It really could have been. I mean, I've seen videos before where fights break out in courtrooms. I saw one recently where uh you know a fight breaks out with the defendant and the victim's family and this whole melee. It happens in the courtroom. Somebody actually runs past the judge, but it's rare that you see a judge being attacked and and that was really disturbing to see. Have you ever felt any kind of concern or you know in your courtroom about what someone might do? Is how rare is this to see this happen? I've never seen in in all my years of of being a lawyer andor a judge, which is coming up on about 40, and I was a state and federal prosecutor for for quite some time before I became a judge. I've never seen that kind of, you know, close encounter, but it's different for each jurisdiction, and I'm certainly not familiar with u state court uh practices and safety practices um and protecting judges in the state of Nevada. And I think that was a state court matter if I'm not mistaken. So, I'm in the federal court where we have the privilege and the honor of being protected by the United States Marshall Service. And I I'm not sure of the resources, but I'm going to I'm going to guess, Jesse, that the resources, the funding to the United States Marshall Service that's tasked with protecting federal judges both in and out of the courtroom, um the the the resource resources are plentiful. Uh so I have in the courtroom um you're always a little bit on edge but it really you know depends on who is appearing in front of you. So, for instance, I just sentenced someone not more than 20 minutes ago to life in prison um who was involved in a very very serious crime uh involving kidnapping, retribution for stealing drugs and the kidnapping resulted in an execution. >> So, in that instance, I'm sitting on the edge of my seat a little bit more. Uh, I'm aware that the person has a a history of of being dangerous and violent and our Marshall Service, the the persons who transport the prisoners and are in our courtroom in federal court, um, they they're aware on on who's in court and what the crimes were and what their history was. So, appropriate security, you know, was taken for each case. Now, we in federal court, we do a lot of financial crimes where there's no history of violence. So, I'm going to assume that the Marshall Service um I mean, they protect us beautifully, you know, no matter what is happening in a in a criminal case. But, um I think there's a certainly a ramp up and a ramp down depending on who appears in front of us. >> And I appreciate you saying that the difference between the resources that you have at your disposal versus what a state court has. I mean, I will tell you, I'm bothered by the lack of courtroom security there. I mean, the fact that the court clerk had to throw in punches. I mean, that's what it observed to me in this courtroom. You know, I I I was covering the Harvey Weinstein trial out in New York. Again, this is a guy who was convicted of sex crimes, very serious, but you know, no kind of criminal history. When that sentencing happened, when the sentencing happened, there were court marshals lined all across that courtroom. I mean, on each side. Now, I imagine it was also because they wanted to make sure none of the reporters in there were going to be taking photos or videos, but whenever a sentencing is about to happen, that feels like one of the most dramatic moments. Now, we've seen cases before where, you know, defendants fight their attorneys during a regular hearing. But during a sentencing, especially when someone is going to be sentenced to prison and their life is going to be changed, you would have thought maybe in that courtroom there should have been a little bit more precautions put in place. Are you bothered by what you saw there? Maybe a lack of courtroom security. >> I'm bothered that the poor judge had to endure what happened, but I don't really want to comment on the security. I mean, I watched the video like you did. I wasn't able to see how the defendant was able to get from council table to the bench. And I don't know the resources that the state of Nevada and that courtroom are dealing with. So, you know, I don't want to openly criticize them. >> And just to be clear, And just to be clear, he had taken a deal where he wasn't technically in custody. So, they didn't have him in restraints. He wasn't in jail guard. Um, they might be rethinking that protocol moving forward, but because he took a deal with prosecutors to this reduced charge. So, that was one of the reasons he wasn't shackled up. But, I I'll give you the, you know, the next point on that. Well, we I'll I will comment on, you know, what I've observed as the beneficiary of the Marshall's security. I'm not in charge of security, but we work very closely together. So, by way of one example, about four years ago, I had a multi-defendant uh case where the defendants were accused of robbing, kidnapping, and torturing drug dealers. So, these folks were really, really dangerous. and the Marshall service uh and I we had daily you know meetings about um the the the high level of security that happened that that needed to happen in that courtroom and there were you know quite a few options. So we ended up with and this is all public so I'm not disclosing any u confidential information. We ended up with dividing up the case. It was a 20 defendant matter. We took five of the most culpable defendants first. Five is what the marshals felt comfortable um offering security for in the courtroom. Not more than five. And shackles were used um on the ankles. Now you're probably aware that uh when there's a jury, and this was a jury trial, uh you can't show the jury that the defendant is um currently in custody. It's unfair to the defendant. So, how do you impart security when that happens? Well, first of all, the defendants are not brought in in front of the jury in prison garb, you know, the the the red or or orange jumpsuits. They're given access to um to suits and and and nice clothing. And then how do we how did the marshals effectuate the the ankle bracelets? What we did was we set up aprons in front of council table. We brought the defendants in first before the jury. We got them seated. Their handcuffs were taken off. So, it's very complicated because you we deal with all courts deal with in criminal cases very um sometimes very dangerous people, but we have to afford them their rights as well so they're they're not prejudiced in front of the jury. >> Yeah, it's a complicated issue. Uh completely understand that. I I did want your perspective on on some of the actions from the judges in this case because there were two. So the judge Mary Kay Holus, she comes back to court. I mean, incredibly brave to do this. Um, and but also her obligation. She was the sentencing judge here. And our understanding is she sentences him to 19 months to four years in prison. But that was going to be her original uh sentence. She didn't change it despite the attack on her. very bold, very I have to give her credit uh for doing that. What was your take on that? >> Well, I think that she probably knew that the defendant was going to be charged for the assault on her and there would be a a reckoning if he was found guilty of that at another time. In federal court, again, I'm not proficient in the state criminal laws in Nevada. In federal court, we're allowed to consider what's called relevant conduct. So, we can we consider the crime. We consider a lot of other factors, rehabilitation, safety of the community, and other other things under the appropriate statute. We can also consider what's called relevant conduct. That is conduct that's separate from the actual crime. And in federal court, the sentencing judge could have considered that conduct, which we all saw, which was him flying over the bench trying to injure the judge. The fact that she didn't consider it, I can only guess that she knew he was going to be charged and if convicted, uh, brought to justice and sentenced a new on that crime. And we're going to talk about those extra charges in a second. But just with respect to the charge that he's now sentenced to in light of everything that's happened, I can't see him getting out before four years. Would I be totally wrong about that? I mean, four years is the maximum on the charge that he was just sentenced to, but in light of everything that we just saw, any chance that with that charge specifically that he he'd get out before then? I I don't I don't know the sentencing standards in Nevada state law, but he he's serving already four years, right, on the on the on the initial crime. He's been charged with >> assault. If he's convicted of that, I could tell you if he was in Pennsylvania, u I don't think he would be getting out uh before four years. >> Well, let's now talk about these other charges. So obviously he's hit with a slew of battery charges for just attacking so many people in the courtroom. The two charges that I thought were really interesting were attempted murder and extortion. Um do you think that applies in this kind of scenario with the attack on the judge? Um do you think it's too aggressive? I mean as I mentioned he had his hands uh on her throat. Um and so what did you think of attempted murder and extortion charges? I'm not sure I understand the extortion charge, but I'll say this about the attempted murder. As a former state and federal prosecutor, um generally generally the um the strategy is you look at the facts that you could prove. You look at the elements of the crimes and you generally charge the most serious um charges that you can to gain a prosecutorial advantage. Um whether uh I don't know the extent of the injuries. I don't I haven't talked to the judge and it was hard to see what happened when she was tackled behind the bench. uh hypothetically if there was an attempt to strangle her then perhaps an attempted murder charge would be warranted. Um but uh the prosecutors initially are always going to charge what they believe are the most serious charges. Whether attempted murder can be borne out, that's up to the Nevada courts to figure out. And in terms of extortion, this is the best way I think I can explain it is that uh because she is a uh public official, he was trying to influence what she would do by threatening her. >> I don't know. What do you think? >> I think I'll pass on that one because I'm not sure what I think. >> All right, that's fine. That's fine. I don't I don't I don't want to second guess the prosecutors in Nevada and I don't want to second guess the judges in Nevada. These are just charges. Remember, let's also remember this is a this is a crime guilty. You know, you're innocent until proven guilty. However, >> it's on video. >> Yeah. So, not sure what, you know, short of some type of diminished capacity, uh, mental health defense, I'm not sure what the defense is going to be. >> That that's fair. And and there have been reports about his mental health concerns and and issues there. Um, but but the fact it seems to me, would it benefit him to plead guilty to these charges in light of so much strong evidence he committed these crimes? in federal court and I'm sure because I'm very familiar still with Pennsylvania state criminal law and I think I'll even go out in a limb and say it probably applies in Las Vegas and Nevada. A uh showing of remorse and contrition is always a positive factor in sentencing. I I did want to ask you before I let you go, there was an legal issue that happened with one of the judges. Um, and we wanted a little explanation the best that you can. So, let me lay this out for everybody to explain it. When he was originally being sentenced before he attacked the judge, he was actually eligible for $54,000 bail. And our understanding is in Nevada, if he put up a certain percentage of it, about like $8,000, he could technically be released. Okay. Then he attacks Judge Holus. he has to appear in another courtroom for a bail hearing. And the prosecutors were adamant uh that they were looking for a no bail setting. In fact, they didn't want him to have any option of bail. The other judge, this was not Judge Holus, this was another judge that was determining the bail. Um she needed she what happened was she wanted him to be in the courtroom, but Redden refused to leave his jail cell. He wouldn't come to the bail hearing. And this judge said, "Well, if he's not going to be here, I don't think it's fair. I can't I don't want to set conditions of his bail or change his bail if he's not present." The Clark County DA, Mr. Wolson, said, "Well, we asked for a no bail setting. We asked that he be detained because we believe that he is a danger to the community. The world has seen what happened yesterday, and this person's behavior in court, and I've almost seen nothing else like this. So, we believe he's an extreme danger to the community." he was disappointed uh that the judge would not uh you know take away the bail setting. Um but again it it's now moot because he's already been sentenced and he's now uh has all these charges. But what would have led uh a judge to decide that after he attacks another judge to not change the bail settings regardless of whether he's in that courtroom or not, regardless of whether he chooses not to be in that courtroom or not. I would say he forfeited his right and in light of what he just did to this judge. I was curious about that. Wanted to ask you your perspective on it real quick. >> Sure. Well, you have to remember that as a as a jurist, as a judicial officer, we especially in criminal matters, I we have to think about the rights of both sides. But in criminal matters, when you're talking about the possibility of someone's liberty being at stake, the benefit of the doubt always goes to the defendant. and the burden always goes to the prosecution. Now Jesse, I can comment on what would happen the process that I would impart and I can't really say whether it it has or not. So this is more in a hypothetical but let's suppose in a in a similar proceeding let's take the bail proceeding we have bail proceedings in federal court and let's say a defendant is brought over to the courthouse. uh he's in the holding cell and we say let's start the proceeding and it's reported to me by the marshalss the defendant is refusing to appear. So the question I think you're posing is would I proceed or not? Okay. So what I think I would do in your hypothetical is um and I have done actually I'll tell you you have the marshall you swear in the marshall and you say marshall I want you've now been sworn in. I want you to go down to the holding cell and I want you to say the following to the defendant. Mr. Defendant, you we are going to conduct a bail hearing. You have an absolute right to be here. I would prefer that you are here. I would prefer that you're here because I want to hear your side of the story. You have a right to come to my courtroom. I do not want to proceed without you. And the marshall relays that to the defendant. the marshall comes back up under oath and relays what is the defendant's position is and in order to you know move things along in situations where defendants refuse to be uh part of a proceeding after a lot of steps are taken and after a careful record is made my view is that you can proceed and I'm not criticizing the Las Vegas judge but you know at some point you a defendant can be found forfeit their very precious right to be in a courtroom uh during all proceedings. >> I appreciate that uh providing a little bit more clarity on what potential options could it be. Uh in terms of Mr. Red and I'll let everybody know he appeared in court this past week for a different judge uh and a preliminary hearing has been set for February 14th on all of these new charges that he is going to be facing. The Honorable Mitchell Goldberg, thank you so much for making your sidebar debut. really appreciate you taking the time and hopefully the next time we talk it's not about a judge being attacked but maybe some other kind of case but thank you so much sir. >> After arrest and before trial comes jail. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. >> Another night in the street, another kicking and tripping. The cops threw me in jail in they got my head on the lights. Please get me out this jail. Just give me We deal with all kinds of inmates in the county jail here in uh Clark County. Very nice people sometimes get arrested and make mistakes, but generally speaking, we're dealing with people who are in here for a very good purpose and that they've done something very wrong and they know it and uh we know it. So, it's different atmosphere to know that you're walking into a room with about between 50 and 100 known criminals that uh possibly could want to hurt you. >> We got one highly intoxicated male. I need your hand on that one. Can you help me out? >> No problem, man. I'm coming. >> All right. Let's go do this. >> All right. >> What do I do, man? >> Open up your hand. Relax your hand right now. Relax your hand. >> What? >> You're balling your hand up into a fist. I don't need that. >> I ain't smoking drugs. No, that just an aggressive stance and we don't need that inside the jail. We'll try the ring finger on the left hand. >> I'm a pretty boy, man. Remember? >> No, I don't. >> You remember me? Blue eyes. >> I don't remember you. >> Yeah, you remember me from last. >> Did you get it? >> You remember me from last time? >> I really don't. You're not that memorable. >> Yeah, you are. >> No, you're really not that memorable. >> What I do, man? Don't even make up. >> Hey, S. We're going to take Beetle out of here. >> Don't try. Will you stop balling up your fish right now? >> I work ready, ice, man. I want to show you my muscles, man. >> Okay. Well, don't. >> Okay. Okay. Okay. I won't do that no more. I promise. I promise. >> Face the wall. >> I will. I'm sorry. >> I'm sorry. I'm sorry. >> You understand? You're sorry. >> I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. >> Right now, I want you to be quiet. Shut your mouth. Be quiet. >> Yes, sir. >> Come on in. >> Yes, sir. >> Sit in that corner right there. Yes, sir. >> Stay nice and quiet. >> Don't bother anybody. >> Please help me. >> I started to take him out of the pre-arrest area where he baldled up his fist, started to flex his muscles, showing me how strong he was. That's why we put him into a wrist lock to bring him down here into this cell. We're going to >> We're going to go down and take care of a quick situation in Z8. >> Who are you president, man? >> Told you it was my house, man. >> Everybody back. >> Everybody back. >> Put your hands behind your back. Cut the tension in the body. >> There's no tension. >> You're going to walk. We need to put in the chair. >> Take all the toilet paper out of here. >> Stand up. >> Take it out. >> Backwards. Everything goes. >> Ow. My hand. >> Why are you throwing all the toilet paper? >> I wasn't throwing anything. >> Raise my ass off. That's it. >> Lay down on the bunk. >> What's your name? >> Oh, John. lay down on the bunk. >> Teammate down there and ate. They were causing a disturbance. They're taking toilet paper, wading it up, throwing it on the ceiling. >> You come in here, they were complaining about it being cold. You can see they were throwing the toilet paper up here at the vent to try to stop the air circulation. So, that was the original complaint uh from the officer. Reason why we came in here to to talk to him and that's when the confrontation took place. Hey John, we just want to talk to you for a few minutes. Okay. No problem. >> Get your side of the story and what was going on and and what happened and was cold and nice up in that room. We, you know, we kept telling them over and over and uh you know, then finally the the one officer gave us a bag so we could uh >> lock the van and uh they wouldn't stay because the welds and whatnot. >> Oh, okay. And and that was that was pretty much it. >> So, how are you doing now? You doing okay now? Seem pretty mellow. >> I'm Yeah, that's how I am all the time. And it's not like anybody, you know, gave him any reason to to even act that way to begin with. >> All right, we got to go. We got to fight. >> We got a 416, which is a fight, which often happens around chowo time into into a module. Anybody who doesn't have their face on your >> faces should be in the bunk. >> Do we have the nurse responding? Basically what happened was this guy and the guy in there got into an argument at the table. >> He went to swing on this guy and hit the old fell inadvertently across the face going to swing at this guy. So he was an innocent party and just took the brunt of it. >> He's going to be going off to a disciplinary housing. It's important to keep control in these type of situations whenever there's a fight or whenever there's any kind of issue inside of a module like this. >> This is dangerous, man. You got kids in here, man. They don't care. They don't care. And I got a good job, a wife, and a home, you know, two nice cars, you know. I just I got caught up in some promotional things and and you know, this is what happens. I'm embarrassed, but this here is crazy. I'm I'm terrified of this stuff, you know, and then I get hit for nothing. I >> mean, I could have been hurt. >> I mean, really bad. >> Get hurt, but >> I did get hurt, but I'm lucky, you know. >> I mean, I never been I never been in a fight in my life. So, you know what I'm saying? >> Well, we're glad you're okay. >> The nurse has a little bit of medication for your pain for your nose. the pain down and let us know if you keep turning around. >> Unfortunately, we weren't able to stop it, but at least we were able to stop it before it went too far and before anything else happened. >> Taran County Jail is 13 stories high. Even though we are on the 12th floor, they really don't mean anything because they'll run a line down or run a weapon up or anything like that. And that's why we check the wires, check the doors, check everything that's going around. Uh, one of the things that that pretty much keep me going, I ask myself, if I was locked up in here and wanted to get out, what would I do? How would I do it? Because a lot of times I'll check something that I probably would do and they've already done it. >> Well, you got an inmate that wants to walk around in tight uniforms enticing the male inmates. And due to his sexual nature, uh, I can understand that, you know, he wants to play the whole role, but we can't let him go around and do that. He's going to have to trade, change uniforms. All right. So, let's see what we can do. Pretty much upset a lot of inmates up there due to the fact that he want to continue to wear his skin tight uniform and a couple of them don't like the idea that he keeps getting them racked down for his conduct. So, somebody's probably going to try to hurt him. >> Uh he's going to change due to the fact that his uniform that he got on is too tight. It's nothing against him, but we just cannot have him parading around here with with skin tight pants on. >> Okay. So, we'll be back. We'll be back. >> All right. >> All right. We may have to transfer him out and put him in a single cell somewhere by itself. That's what you want. >> Well, that's that's what it's always been. All right. >> All right. Go in and have a seat. >> You can say what you want to say. It's not working. So y'all y'all y'all definitely is one of the I've been I've been here this I've been here this whole time. I've been the same way. >> All right. Now I need you to work with me. >> I'm going to handle that out there. That's my job is to deal with my staff. Okay. >> Okay. >> This is what I need you to do. >> Okay. Could you Okay. Could you hear me out for a second? I mean I just want to stop you before you keep going. I'm not complaining. They don't have to give me another uniform. I'mma keep my I feel like they trying to turn me into something. >> I'm I'm a punk or whatever. have, as she say, of a pump and that's what I'm >> Your sexual orientation had nothing to do with with what we dealing with right now. >> Okay. Evidently, you trying to make me put on something. Baby, let me tell you something. When them uniforms were designed, they were designed because people were sagging. They got tired of people sagging and all the rest of that kind of stuff. So, they came up with the solution of jumpers. They figured if they gave you jumpers, there was no sagging. Now, they never not a one time said anything about a uniform not fitting you properly. Mine fit me properly. But I still want uniform. >> I still Yeah. But you're not going to put me on no big old baggy uniform. Okay. My My point My point is >> Tell me what's wrong with this. >> Am I bothered? It's too tight. >> Am I bothering one of the uniforms? >> It's too tight. >> Are y'all want Do y'all >> Come on, man. You got the dudes running around. Look, let's keep it real, man. You got these dudes running around here, man. >> You can't hold me responsible for what a grown man >> I'm not a grown man should already know. >> Okay. What size like >> Okay, man. Work with me. >> What is this? That's big. This is >> That's one size larger than what you got. >> But see, this one ain't got all the elastices. So that's just like putting on the 3X and the 4X. Look how big this is. Hold on. Now I'm going to make an example of of Get this. >> Give me that uniform you got on, >> right? I want him to see extra big this is right here. Now Oh, but this still is like telling me even with this uniform on, look at this. I was talking. I would tell every damn thing >> in their face. Oh, come on, man. Look here. >> This is a size bigger. >> Man, you're not going to the prom, man. Look, this thing is working, man. Give me Give me that other uniform right quick. Come on. Come on. Work with me, man. Please. I'm asking you, man. I'm asking. Okay. >> I'll never work this long with nobody trying to get no uniform. I'm serious. I am being very, very patient with you. >> You know, you know, even if you call your crew over here, I'm not going to go through all that. I'm still going to take it to where I want to take it. >> Give me this uniform back. Give me that one. Switch out. >> And I still have my clean one. >> This is too big. I'mma have a claim one, baby. I still want y'all to go ahead and punish me for not for not change I mean for for not changing uniform. >> Okay. Moving you for your safety and a few dudes down there hollering and going on and acting crazy. Kind of concerned about that. All right. >> It was nobody It wasn't nobody was that just love to get attention. Somebody want to say something. >> I mean I don't I don't care about getting moved. That's that's not that's nothing. >> That's for your safety. >> Okay. Oh, okay. I understand. You something else, man. Come on. Let's go. >> Come on. Let's go. Boy, you something else, boy. Hold on. Hold on. >> Yeah. >> Come on. Round this way. N he can change in there. Step in there. >> The uniform too big. >> Step in there. What's the uniform? >> Put his shoes on. >> It's all funny now. >> Take him down to the holding cell over there and put him in there. We have medical do visual on. >> Yeah. Keep me right back. Y'all >> uh just basically being moved from the pod for his safety. He's >> even the way it's supposed to be in the camp brought in before medical personnel come in. >> The whole thing started over. You want to wear skin tight uniforms enticing the other inmates and that has caused a problem. this this is not his first rodeo and it's not the last time and um you know he's he's going to do it again but the main thing is like I said is safety hopefully we can put him someplace where you don't have to worry about enticing other folks This is the Mult County Jail. We're located right in the heart of the city. People say here in Portland, you have uh seasonal depression because we get a lot of rain. So, uh you see a lot of intoxicated people and once you've dealt with it long enough in order to keep yourself sane to a certain degree, you kind of laugh about it. We received a call a little while ago from a Portland officer saying that they had someone they were bringing into custody that was causing lots of problems. >> He's got a few warrants. He uh told us that if he had a gun, he'd shoot us. He's pretty drunk. >> Okay. >> On the right side. >> He's been kicking and spitting in the back of the car. >> Don't drag me out. Please. >> John, are you going to cooperate? >> Please don't drag me out. >> John, we don't want to drag you out of the car if you'll cooperate. >> Your legs don't work that good. I can't move. You got to get out of this side. >> That side? That's fine, John. >> Step out. Okay. >> My head. >> Okay. Well, we got a nurse that'll take a look at you. >> Okay. We just want you to listen to simple directions, John. Okay. >> Okay. We'll do that. We'll do that. >> Come over here so we can search you. >> Face the counter. Do you normally carry needles? >> No, I don't do that. >> Okay. Well, we got to ask you. >> Hey, John, are you suicidal? >> Leg here. >> Are you diabetic? All right. You want to take your handcuffs up? Go ahead. Spread your feet for me, please. Sir, John, please spread your feet. There you go. I can't sp that far now. Please, please don't. We're not. We're just want you to spread your feet. That's all. >> Don't. Please. Please. Please. My legs. Don't spread your legs. >> Don't spam that part. >> I have to. We have to search you. Okay, John. Have to spin them that far if I can surgery. Spread your legs. Don't spam that hard. >> John, your hand on the counter. It's on the back. Lift foot up. You put up where you are. >> I'm going to pass out. I am >> trying to give you an option so you can get through the process. >> All right, guys. Sit down there. Sit down. Sit down. Sit down. There you go. >> All right. That was easy. >> All right. >> So, basically, we put him in a an isolation cell. He came in. He's very intoxicated. They picked him up for drinking in public. Uh he has some warrants for his arrest. I think they also charged him with something else. I'm not exactly sure, but uh just in order to to keep it safe down here for us, we put him in isolation cell. >> John, why you banging? >> I got to go down to pick it up. Uh, they probably Well, so so okay. No, we don't need to talk to him for a while. So, obviously, we made a good choice. He's going to chill out in the side room. >> Step right over here. >> Yeah. >> All right. Face the counter. Move your feet apart. Face the counter. Have you been drinking tonight? >> Energy drink. You've been on any drugs? Put your hand on the counter. No. >> Am I going to have to stay here or what? >> Well, it just depends on You don't have stable housing. >> I got to go to work tonight. >> Okay. >> Take all your jackets off. Place them up on the counter. >> Your face is awfully red. You sure you ain't taking any drugs? >> No, >> not at all. >> Been working double shifts. >> Was that your paycheck? >> Yeah. He broke my string on my coat. >> Well, he couldn't get the knot undone cuz the string in your coat are destroying my property now. >> Listen. >> No, that's messed up. >> I'm going to explain it to you. Okay. >> Messed up. >> No, it's not messed up. It's policy. >> Yeah, you guys destroy my property now. >> Nobody destroyed anything. >> Yeah, you did. It's broken. >> Sheriff says we got to take all loose strings out of clothing. Precautionary measure. We don't want you to hurt yourself or anybody else. You guys grab your stuff. Have a seat. You guys threaten taking you guys to court? >> That's fine. >> Timothy here. It's a little upset. He thinks we've uh ruined some of his property by taking his shoelaces out and some of the loose strings in the jacket. That's our policy. If the string isn't tied in, say like the on the waist or at the bottom of the jacket, it's taken out for safety. >> They ran across the street in front of me where my light was being. watch TV. >> So, you're a contractor for the food service? >> Yes. And you cook there. >> These two are brothers. >> They're both warrants. >> Yes. >> Both warrants. >> They work at one of our jails. >> Both of you work at the at Watau in the food service area. >> Do they have county ID with them? Let's take a look in their wallets and see. >> What are you doing with this coke? What are you doing with this >> coke? >> I was searching his back area and it just kind of popped right out of his waistband. >> It's not nothing. Is it fake crap? >> How much did you pay for that? >> How much is >> How do you know it's not real? >> It's a taste of it. >> Oh, I'll go back and test it. I want to be able to report to the commander who's in charge of the food service so that we can pull her access completely. I mean, the warrants are one thing, but possession would be another. >> Thanks. >> Doesn't get any easier than that, I guess. >> No. >> Apparently, the two gentlemen are uh contractors that provide uh the food service for the jail. Deputy Hawkifer was searching him. Inside his waistband was a little baggy. Appears to be powdery substance, probably cocaine. The inmate says that it was uh he actually tasted and tested it, said it was fake, but they're going to do a test on it anyways to be sure. If it is cocaine, we're going to notify command st. So, they'll probably be terminated if that's the case. Rhonda. >> So, you might want to start making some notes to yourself because I just got word that on the possession. >> Okay. >> The dope that you found in his pocket uh came up hot for opiates. So, it's probably coke. >> Nice little >> It's probably going to go to grand jury. They're charging them with a PCS2 because they're going to restrict their access to the kitchens there at Waco. >> Nice. Two brothers get stopped for jaywalking, end up getting charged with possession. What kind of luck is that? >> Good job. >> Two cousins are going to prison for luring a man to a hotel room on the Las Vegas strip and shooting him. I have the chilling details out of the silver state. Welcome to Crime Fix. I'm Anget Levy. This case sounds like an awful plot out of a TV show or a scene from a movie. It's absolutely devastating. Brian Ultramarano Solano came to the United States from Nicaragua. He was looking for a better life. He lived in Las Vegas and sadly it's where his life ended one evening in May of 2023. It was May 17th when Brian Altarano Solano met two women at a hotel on the Las Vegas strip. Surveillance footage showed Altarano Solano with a bag across his chest. He was walking through the hallway arm in arm with one woman on each arm. They went to a room at Caesar's Palace. 15 minutes later, the women were running away from the room down the hall. When Alto Morano Solano didn't check out of the hotel hours later, a housekeeper found him. He had been shot. Las Vegas Metro Police found an Instagram post showing Ariana Taylor and Erica Covington wearing the same clothes as the women in the video with Altarano Solano when he was walking to his room. Police also said a cartridge casing in Alta Morano Solano's hotel room was matched to Taylor's gun from another incident. The two cousins, Taylor and Coington, were charged with robbing and murdering Brian Altoano Solano within days. Now, as I mentioned, Brian Altoano Solano came to the US from Nicaragua looking for a better life, and this happened to him. He became the target of a robbery and murder. Then late last month, Erica Coington and Ariana Taylor accepted plea agreements, pleading guilty to seconddegree murder and other charges. Taylor didn't speak, but Covington apologized to Alter Morano Solano's family during the sentencing hearing. Solano's mother sadly told the court through an interpreter during the sentencing, "The pain that I felt was so deep. I felt like I lost my son. Why? Why my son?" Alta Morano Solano's father said it wasn't enough just taking his belongings. They had to kill him. I asked for justice for my son. Both Erica Coington and Ariana Taylor have been sentenced to 10 to 25 years in prison. They will be eligible for parole after serving 10 years behind bars. I want to bring in Melba Pearson. She is a former prosecutor who prosecuted cases in Florida. I know this is a Nevada case, Melba, but uh this is a pretty clear-cut case, it seems to me. Uh these two cousins have entered into a plea agreement uh pleading guilty to seconddegree murder. Uh they will be eligible for parole after serving 10 years. Is that is that surprising to you? It seems like a pretty heinous crime what happened. So for them to be eligible for release after serving just 10 years, what are your thoughts on that? Yeah. So, it's a definitely my heart goes out to the victim's family because they are deeply grieving the loss of their loved one and especially over something so senseless. But in terms of the sentence, it's not that unusual in terms of looking at the totality of the circumstances. It's possible that the family didn't want to have to go through an entire trial. It's possible that the two defendants had taken responsibility for their actions and were able as such to be able to craft this plea agreement for them to serve some time in prison, but then have that opportunity to potentially rebuild their lives and maybe make amends for for the horrible things that they did. Uh but the key is just because you're eligible for release after 10 years does not mean you will be released in 10 years. So, part of the things that the the parole board or whoever the body is in Nevada that is going to be deciding whether or not these two women should be released will be looking at things like number one during the time they were incarcerated. Did they get an education? So, their GED programs available in in many prisons as well as the ability to get an associates degree or something like that. Did they try to further that their education? Did they engage in going to counseling or something along those lines? What positive things have they done to better their lives and their future during the time they were incarcerated? Did they get into fights? Did they cause problems? All of those things factor in. And if they did not act in a way that was appropriate or try to move their lives forward, it is unlikely that they would get out after 10 years and will more likely serve their entire sentence. Mhm. >> Both, as you mentioned, you know, they accepted responsibility. They did enter into this plea agreement. They pleaded guilty to the charge. So, so they did accept responsibility to a degree, but when this first happened and they were first taken into custody, apparently Ariana Taylor said um that she had a really bad memory because she had been in a car accident, Erica Coington, her cousin, uh had said, "Yeah, we met the guy down by the valet, but had trouble communicating with him." And then she kind of lawyered up, which is her right. Um, but the the evidence in this case, I want to talk about the evidence in this case. I mean, it was it was pretty um it it was pretty good evidence. I mean, they have video, surveillance video of the two cousins, Erica Coington and Ariana Taylor, walking arm-in- arm uh with Brian Altarano, Solano up to the hotel room. They then uh and through other parts of the hotel and they have him running running bolting out of the room 15 minutes later out of the hotel room. I mean it's not often I don't think that you have a case Melba you probably would love to have had evidence like that in all of your cases. I mean, that it seems to me like a very um high-risk behavior that these two young women engaged in doing this, luring this man to the hotel room, going up there with him, shooting him, and then and dashing out of there. And and they had all of this video evidence where it it put them with him in the room, and then they matched up the clothing with the Instagram video that one of them had posted. Yes, there was definitely some solid evidence and you are absolutely right, Anette. Uh there were many a case in my career as a prosecutor that I wished I had surveillance video or that the surveillance video was actually clear and not furry and you're trying to lead the jury along. Like if you squint this way, you can see, you know, and and and it's horrible when you're in those situations because again, you want to have that best evidence for the jury to understand very clearly point by point as to what happened. But again, part of the evidence in this also included explicit videos of act of sexual activities that may have occurred in that room. And that could be incredibly embarrassing to the family as well. I mean, granted, we're talking consenting adults, but again, you're talking about someone who has lost their life as a result of a murder. And then to sort of have these very intimate moments being shown to a courtroom of strangers could have been a lot for the family to have to endure and deal with. So, it is possible that in order to preserve the dignity of of the victim's name that they didn't want to have all of these videos and all of this discussion around what he may or may not have been doing that night to really enter the public discourse and just focus on his loss and his memory. >> Yeah. And the family of Brian Ultimano Solano, I mean, they they are just, you know, this may bring one chapter to a close, but they will never get over this. It's just so sad. And listening to what his mother had to say via the translator, I mean, she was saying, "Why, my son? Why?" I mean, it's just absolutely heartbreaking. Um, you know, along with the video evidence, which is probably to me just the best evidence in this case. Um, along with some of the denials made by um the two cousins when they were first interviewed because I feel like sometimes denials can make you look worse than an than a straight admission. Uh, but they said that they also recovered one of the cartridge casings in the hotel room and that cartridge casing the police were able to match to Ariana Taylor's handgun uh from another prior incident. Uh, so that was pretty good kind of corroborating evidence as well. I still say in my opinion the video evidence is the best evidence, but when you have that cartridge casing evidence as well, I mean that's that's really good evidence too. Absolutely. Absolutely. And you know, there was some discussion as to whether or not uh who actually pulled the trigger and who actually was the person that had ended this victim's life. But again, when we think about it from the legal and the charging perspective, it's basically a conspiracy. If the two of you made a plan to go in and rob this person and death resulted, both of you are equally as culpable. It doesn't matter that you weren't the one to pull the trigger. You were involved. So, this the prosecution did not necessarily have to prove which one of the two cousins pulled the trigger. They just had to prove that it was literally one of them. The cause and manner of death was homicide and the firearm and the ca the casing was linked to the firearm which was then linked to the defendant. So, definitely >> and a lot of people don't quite understand that. I mean that a lot of states have laws like that whether you're in Nevada, Florida, anywhere else. If you're a part of it and you're there and you're present, you're just as guilty even if you didn't pull the trigger. >> Absolutely. Absolutely. And you know, to go back to a point that you made earlier, this was not only extremely high-risk behavior because the victim would have been completely within his right to stand his ground. So, if he had a firearm, this could have easily turned the opposite way and both of them ended up getting shot. And sadly, I'd seen cases the same way where two people went to commit a robbery. The intended victim had a firearm and ended up killing one of the people that attempted to rob them, but then the defendant that was left behind ended up getting charged with their codefendants murder basically because again, you went into the situation looking to com to commit a robbery, a death resulted, you still end up getting held accountable. So, this could have gone in so many different directions, but no matter how you cut it, it was going to end as a tragedy. And for what? I mean, the the the victim's father said it perfectly. Not only did they h rob my son, that was not enough for them, they had to take his life as well. And and that's was just incredibly heartbreaking. >> Yeah. And one of the cousins mothers had posted on Facebook kind of defending her daughter, saying basically, you don't know what happened. and you don't really know what happened in that room and his wallet was still with him. She's claiming he still had his wallet with $1,500 in it at the hotel room and that they just got away with the bag. So, you know, Melba, I mean, that to me is just almost it makes it even more sad if they took off with a bag and it has nothing of value in it and the $1,500. I mean, it's just heartbreaking. It doesn't make it any better or worse, but it's just it's just awful to me that if even if the $1,500 in the wallet is remaining in the room, it's it's even more senseless to me in some ways. >> Absolutely. And she's absolutely right. We don't know what happened in that room, but we do know several things. Number one, the victim went into that room and never came back out alive and wasn't discovered till eight hours later by, you know, a poor housekeeping person just walked in and that horror of seeing someone deceased in the hotel room. That's the last thing you expect when you go to work in the morning. So, you have the the trauma of not only the the family losing their loved one, but of all the other people that were involved in the situation and had to be witnesses to something so horrible. And you know, we also know that the last people who saw him alive were these two women. And so they're in possession of stolen items from him. They're in possession of the gun and or at least the gun is tied back to them. So the family of the defendants knows the knows the facts. They're seeing what's publicly available. Now's not the time to try and double down and defend those actions. It's to at least show grace to the family that has lost a loved one and let the justice system take its course. >> Yeah, it's a heartbreaking case. Um just absolutely heartbreaking and uh Brian Ulta Morano Solanos should still be here and um my heart goes out to his family and these young women um could be in prison for up to 25 years. Melba Pearson, thank you so much for joining me. I really appreciate it. This is Las Vegas right here. Prostitution is high right now. Everybody's trying to get a little business. 20 minutes ago, it was just quiet and peaceful in here. But out on the streets, vice are picking up all the prostitutes, and they don't. They hold on to them and leave them in the wagon till they collect enough, then they'll come and drop them off. This is the first load of prostitutes coming in. All these ladies are dressed to impress. Notice the shoes. It always says about them. They've got a lot of the the bling going on. Dressing good, using their money makers. So, we're we're slammed right now. Gentlemen, turn around and look forward. One of the problems that we do have in here is because the males and females are in the same room. Females are in the back rows. Males are in the front. Males are always looking back trying to check out all these girls because yeah, there are some good-looking girls here. Sir, turn around and face forward. Nothing to look at. Thank you. Look forward. You couldn't afford it anyway. So prostitutes are coming in in large amounts tonight. We've got to go through their purses. We need to take out anything that as far as money, cards, things that can hold their property. Got to be prepared. Safe sex. This is nothing surprising. Another bag. We had a personal device and uh it's it's nothing new, but this is like a prostitute's bag. She's prepared for anything for her job. >> What's wrong? >> Ma'am, I understand that. That's why I'm working with you. Don't freak out on me. They're freaking out because, you know, this is their property. This is what they work for. >> What a mess. It's only going to get worse tonight. Are you ready for me to call her? >> Yeah. Call her in. >> We need to get your picture. It's Glamour Shots. >> All right. She's done. >> All right. All right. So, what brings you to jail tonight? >> Prostitution. >> Prostitution. You're pretty young. >> Yeah. It's amazing's birthday 2 days ago. >> You just barely turned 18. >> So, you came in with her? >> Yeah. Um, I came in first and then 5 minutes later she rolled up. >> Did you guys just get together and say, "Hey, let's go to Vegas and do some business." So, what brought you to Vegas then? >> To get a little bit of extra money. >> How much do you charge? >> Uh, like 130 140 >> and California. >> Have you uh been making enough money here though? >> Um, I just got out made some money yesterday like $500. 500 in the night. That's pretty good. Part of the process here in booking is that they get medically screened. So, this prostitute's here. The nurse is going to ask her uh just various questions about any reason that she should be here and not be medically rejected, but they all go through this. Nothing personal as far as prostitutes go, but just don't want to say hi. >> Ah, back again. >> All right. Tell me the story tonight. Uh, was that the Rio got arrested for prostitution? >> Okay, if you don't mind me asking, how much do you charge? >> Minimum was 300 for me. >> I I knew you'd be a lot more more pricier because these girls >> They were saying less. >> Oh, they were saying 100 bucks >> for sex. >> So, you can Well, you can just sex because you can see the different class of prostitutes. >> The minimum I'll take is 300 to go upstairs. >> Okay. What about >> It depends on the guy whether or not I'll have sex. >> Okay. Uh, she calls your name. So, >> go back to the book. >> Yeah. Have you had your picture taken yet? >> Yeah. >> Okay. Yeah. Go through the process. >> These girls are just going to get processed and they'll be kicked out again. So, it's not going to take much time for them. They know what they're doing here, know the process, know what they need to do just to get out. So, >> why this career choice? I'm just curious. What makes you decide to do this instead of like >> something else? >> Cuz I love sex. >> Wow. >> We Yeah, we figured that one out. >> So, why not like go to a brothel house >> where it's legal? >> Um, because I just turned 18. Are you going to look into that? >> Yeah. You are? >> Yeah. Oh, you just really like sex. >> Yes. >> You see, you have no other career goals, aspirations out of life. >> No, I want to own a um I want to own a child daycare. >> Prostitutes normally aren't a problem for me. The higher class prostitutes, the you guys that dress nice. >> Well, >> you're a matter anyway. But you come in, you guys know the rules, you know what to do, you're quiet, you're not wearing much clothing, so it's not much for me to search. It's very easy. >> I love my job. >> Why do you love it so much? Tell me about it. >> It's easy money. You get >> How long have you been doing it for? >> 6 months. >> Only 6 months? Really? You haven't been here before that? >> Okay. So, >> you get to You get to go to work when you want to go to work. You don't work. >> You get to pick who you go upstairs with. You get to, you know. >> Okay. >> Everything you do is under your rules. And you make more money than I make way more. I make what you make in a year probably in a month and a half. >> Oh, I believe it. This is crazy what they say. What stays in Vegas? Uh-uh. You're not from Vegas. Vegas. Nope. I'm not. I'm from California. >> Where in California? >> San Bernardino. >> Yeah. >> Yep. The Valley. >> You just come up here for the weekend or what? >> No, I came up here to make money. >> How much money did you make on Allstar weekend? >> The whole weekend? >> Yeah. >> Probably about >> 7,000. Nice. >> A lot more than I made for the whole weekend. >> Well, I don't go in every night unless I make 1,500. So, how much is your check a day? >> So, my girlfriend My girlfriend told me I had to dress hot to go to get into opium. So, I'm dressed hot to get into. >> You are dressed hot. >> But what happened? >> I've been arrested. >> I know. Because I thought you were a prostitute. >> But I'm not a prostitute. did not approach you cuz you're just trying to get to the club. >> Yeah. I just wanted to get off my feet, get something cold to drink that I hadn't didn't pay for myself cuz I've been paying for everything on this trip. >> I'm sorry, honey. You're very pretty. >> The guys are looking at you a lot. So, I'm going to put these clo You're going to put these clothes on you. >> Yeah. >> Okay. And justice, I tell you. Tell you what. Come on. >> You're funny. >> I was not going to have sex with them. >> Yeah, they thought they were. Too bad for them, huh? >> Well, I mean, I might have >> here. We can open this up now. >> Come on here and I put the chains on. But see, it doesn't Look, it doesn't your toe. I know, but it's sticking out. Should I get you some sandals? >> The only thing you can do is a way out of here. This is what >> Don't cry. Don't listen. Let's listen. We're going to get through this. Okay. >> Just remember, we're going to work together. Don't cry. You're going to make me cry. Come on. Come on. It's going to be okay. Come on. You're just going to be here for a few days. If you're not a people person, you're not going to like this job. It's kind of got an aggressive nature to it, which is contradictory to the job because working in the job, your job is to deescalate, not escalate. So, you kind of got to have an aggressive nature, but be able to take it down. >> What's going on? We've got a officer outside requesting assistance with a mail that he's bringing in for a new booking. We're going to go see what's going on. What you got? He's kicking the uh divider window in my control car. Scott, let's go, buddy. >> You want to step out here so we can get the book? All right. >> He was picked up at a bus stop. He kicked out a glass window. >> Swing your foot out. Don't give us a hard time. All right. Just step out here and let's get you patted down. We'll get you up towards that door. Let's go. >> Come on, sir. >> Come on. You going to cooperate with us? >> Why not? You going to cooperate with us? All right. Easy. >> Step out. >> Step out. >> Step out. >> We're going to take you up to this bar here. We're going to ask you some medical questions. Get you patted down. Take this stuff off of you. Are you going to answer our questions? >> Yes, sir. >> You need to focus on us. Whatever happened before is done now. Okay. >> No. No. No. No. Let us ask them first. All right. >> You have diabetes? >> No. >> Heart problems? >> No. >> High blood pressure? >> No. >> Special diet? >> No. >> Dialysis? >> No. >> Hepatitis? >> No. >> Are you suicidal? >> I will any day of the week. >> Do you have a mental health diagnosis? >> Uh, yeah. >> What would that be? >> Dub. >> Just put it down as dub. >> Who cares? >> Turn around this way. Go towards me. get you over this book and so I want you to put your knees up on the bench. All right, >> there you go. All right, >> mate uh stated he wanted to die. He's suicidal. So, we're dressing them out in a suicide smok. There's a couple officers helping him out. Suicide smok's kind of difficult to put on. It can't be ripped. It can't be torn. They can't hang themselves or do anything else with it. There's nothing hidden in it. >> Suicidal statements. >> Okay. That was a stupid move, >> wasn't it? Very stupid. >> Here, let me have his hand. >> Yeah, growl all you want. >> Thanks, Tom. All right, stay right there. Go ahead. Back out. No problem. We got through with the basic medical questions. He would not say that he wasn't suicidal, but he said he would try it any time. So, we took him into the booking cell, got all the stuff off and when he I don't know if he saw the smok or >> I think it was when I said he was suicidal, guys. >> He tried to turn and he started growling, went just rigid. Officer Dickerson and myself both grabbed an arm and just immediately took him to the ground and then we just backed out of there and left him there. Let him sober up. Now we just got to book him in. We have to maintain safety and security within the facility. If we don't maintain control from the onset, it could progress very easily, very quickly, and someone can get hurt. It looks like this gentleman here is very hysterical. We don't know for sure if he's on drugs. We'll have to wait till we get the booking sheet to find out what's going on. >> He uh is trying to convince the officer that uh he doesn't want to be here. We'll assume that uh uh he's going to stay with us. Uh we may have to hold him down here and book him because he's not going to make it in general population with a condition that he's in. >> Get on my face, man. >> Soon as it opens up, come on in, young man. >> Come on, young man. Need to go up to the bar there. >> Okay. What size shoes you wear? I'm going to kill myself. >> Okay. >> I'm going to kill myself. >> All right. Suicidal, sir. >> Yeah. >> Okay. I'm sorry, man. I'm sorry. >> Listen up. Do you have any thought medical problems? Diabetes, heart problem, chest pains, >> high blood pressure. >> I wish I was special diet. >> I wish I was dead. >> Okay, we've got that. >> What I do, man? >> You're being charged with indistant exposures. Listen up. You need to listen up. Are you going to cooperate if we take this? >> I don't cooperate anything you say. >> Come on. Walk over there to where it says we'll get all that stuff. >> I want to die, man. I didn't mean this to happen. >> Okay. Well, it'll get straightened out in court. >> Step through the door there. There you go. All right. Step over to the back of the room. >> I just want to die. >> Go ahead and drop your drawers there so we can get this schmuck on here. >> Just take all that stuff off. >> There's a couple officers in there cuz he is probably hostile. He's suicidal. So, we're dressing him out in a suicide smock. There's a couple officers helping him out. You're going to walk around the counter here. >> All right. >> Sir, I'm >> listen. Just calm down. She's going to ask questions. We're going to try to get your information updated. All right. And we can get you booked and printed. >> What am I in jail for? >> Indecent exposure. >> What did I do? How much does that cost? >> $800 bail. >> I didn't do nothing. Look at me. I got my I'm naked. But >> it's because you said you were suicidal, John. >> Oh, I'm really I wish I was dead. That's why you're in that smoke. So you don't hurt yourself. >> I'm sorry, man. I just want to go home to my family. >> She said she >> You drank a couple of bottle of wine today. >> Not one. >> One bottle of wine. >> I'm not naked in front of me. >> You're not naked. You have a suicide smoke on. >> I want to get out tomorrow. >> You won't get out tomorrow unless you bail out today. >> This way, young man. >> I see where that See where that wall ends on the left right there? I don't know. >> Remember the last time you were here? >> Yeah, I do. >> And we went through the same thing. Remember? >> Remember you got a little upset. We let you have some time to cool out and then you were fine. >> Have a seat there. Go right now. All right. >> Here, sir. >> In case you get tired. Here's something for you to lay down on. Okay. >> WHAT DID I DO WRONG? >> WHAT' we tell you? >> Huh? >> Not a sex offender. >> Didn't say you were. >> Okay. >> Well, it seems like this guy came in uh got arrested for indecent exposure. He's all upset. >> Yeah. Last time he was here, he was the same way. I don't know if he was drunk or high, but he came in, was a little combative. We did the same thing. He sat in there for a few hours and then he came back down. He was fine. >> Yeah. This probably what's going to have that happen here is he's going to have to sober up. I work for the Hamilton County Sheriff's Department in Central Intake Corrections in downtown Cincinnati. Uh I work in the intake division there. I've worked here approximately 7 and 1/2 years. Most people were brought here from throughout the county on things that related to drugs, buying, selling, stealing to purchase drugs. This young lady was brought in for drugs. She's never been here to court before. She seemed very upset and distraught and I'm just trying to talk to her to see what is going on with her. >> I don't want to go to jail. I'm so embarrassed that I'm sitting here and now people think that I smoke. >> Nobody thinks you smoke crack. That was just a charge that it was near you. Your lawyer will be able to prove whether you did or didn't do that. >> That's so bad. I should be a pre-trial next day. You'll be all right. >> I can't even leave. I can't leave until tomorrow, >> right? You'd have to be arraigned tomorrow morning. Court room. >> Are they going to put me in jail cell? >> You'll go up tonight to a to a sale and they'll bring you back down tomorrow morning. >> You won't be on in in jail forever. You're going to go to court tomorrow and be arraigned and they'll set >> What if nobody has any money? >> They'll set a court date for you. They'll set a court date. >> So, I could I could be months. I could be in here for months. >> It'll be several weeks. >> I will come and find out. >> Oh my god. Are you serious? I could be here for weeks. if you don't have money to bond out. But you got to wait till tomorrow. You're getting excited about You don't know what's going to happen. >> It's my job. It's my I'm gonna have my son to pick my son up from school tomorrow. >> Right. >> Well, hopefully somebody will get you out in the morning. Have you ever been in trouble before? >> No. >> Do you live here in the city? >> I just moved in Salem to Bethl. >> All right. Thank you. >> All right. >> Jody was brought over here to pre-trial. What they do here at pre-trial, they're going to set her down and ask her a series of questions there. They're going to find out what kind of family life she has. Does she have a stable environment there? Does she own her own home? Does she live with someone? Uh they're going to find out about her job, where she works, is she dependable. And then they're going to put all this information into the system there and it's going to kick out a bio sheet and a score plus 15 or a minus5. The higher the score, the lower the bond will probably be. the lower the score, the higher the bond is going to be. That kind of shows her dependable, whether she's dependable and trustworthy and if she will probably show up for court. And from everything I've seen so far, she looks pretty dependable. It looks like she has a good stable environment. So, I'm I'm assuming that the the uh bond will be pretty low. They're going to put you in here for a little while and then they'll move you upstairs and put you on a cell upstairs. All right. in here. You will, but when you get upstairs, I'll be feeling next to you up there. >> This is probably the worst thing that's ever happened to me in my life. I don't know what I'll tell my son. He's going to know that I did something. He's going to know that I did something wrong that kept him cuz nothing would keep me from him. He's going to know and he's going to want to know what it was. She'll be brought back down here tomorrow morning where she'll meet her public defender and he'll go over things with her and then she'll be taken into arraignment court about 9:00 in the morning. >> Yeah. This gentleman there was brought in for hitting his wife in the head with an empty Coke bottle, a plastic bottle there, and he was charged with domestic violence. >> 73 years old, haven't been to jail. Now you hit your old lady in the head with a pop bottle. >> Well, it was empty. >> It was empty pop bottle. Okay. and and plastic. It wasn't glass. Okay. >> And I'm going to get rid of her, too. >> You're going to get rid of her. >> You're damn right. >> Both of them. >> All right. >> How long you been married? >> I ain't talking on ground myself. >> Okay. >> Come here, man. I'm put you in here and then they'll call you back out here in just a second. All right. >> Believe me, I didn't do it. >> Have a seat. They'll be right here and get you in just a minute. All right. >> All right. >> All right. Take it easy, James. We'll try to get you up here in just a minute. >> He'll be arraigned tomorrow morning at 9:00. They'll read his charges. He'll plead and then he'll get a bond and be released and told when he's going to come back to court. >> Jody, how you do? Come on, have a seat a minute here. >> Just following up. I'll see how things are going with you. What's >> Yeah, well, obviously. >> What What's going on with your bond? >> Um, they haven't paid it yet. So, >> is that what the holdup is? Your bond or bail? >> Yeah, my whole family's together right now. So, they might throw in my bond's only $418. >> That's worth 10%. I >> mean, I know it's not very much. A lot of people that have a lot higher amount, but if you don't have $400, it's might as well be a million. >> Other than that, you're doing all right. >> I've been better with you. Everybody here has been really nice to me. So, >> anything else we can do for you? >> You taking me home? >> Well, we we'll try to do that just as soon as we can. Good luck to you. Okay. >> Thank you. >> Hopefully, we'll get you out here by Monday. Thanks, Miss Lindsay. You're >> welcome. She's still a little bit upset, a little emotional there. There's a problem with the money on her bond. Once her bond is paid, then they have to contact EMU, which is our electronic monitoring unit, and then uh they'll come and contact her here, get her leg bracelet put on, and then she'll be taken out and taken home there. But hopefully, this is a significant event. It will change perceptions. She won't go down this road here anymore at all. >> BP8 in the front of the vehicle. Super. HE'S GOING TOWARDS US. >> GOT UP in each other's face and then she grabbed me and just all of a sudden just said like this. >> Did he strike you? >> He striked her before she got out of the car. >> Okay, hang on a second. >> I know. I've never >> Police Department. I know there's other people in there right now. You need to come out with your hands up >> one at a time. Turn around, man. Do not turn around. >> This car in front of me just uh cut across two lanes of traffic to make a right-hand turn and he's making some crazy motions here in his vehicle. So, we're going to stop him. The reason I stopped you is you cut across two lanes of traffic to make your right-hand turn in front of a couple cars. >> Is there a reason for that? >> No, I I thought it was one. >> You thought it was one? >> Yeah. >> Well, and you almost hit the car that was trying to make that turn through there, right? Did you realize that? >> No, I >> All right. Do you have a driver's license on you? >> No, I don't have it on you. >> You don't have it on you? Don't Don't go reaching around. Do you have anything on you I need to know about? Any guns, knives, weapons? >> Okay. What's that little bit of grass stuff on your No, no, no, no. Don't go reaching. What's that little bit of grass stuff on your on your >> What? >> Under on your on your pants right there on your lap. >> Stuff on my lap. >> Okay. There's no marijuana or anything in this car, is there? >> Yeah, that's a blood. >> You have a blunt? Cuz I can smell it. Don't go reaching for it. Okay. Do you have a driver's license? >> Yes. Okay. Where's the driver's license out of? >> It's uh right here out >> out of Nevada. Okay. Why don't you have it with you? >> Because they uh took it because it was suspended. >> So, your license is suspended right now. >> I ain't got any child support. I just got out the door like 6 months ago. >> Okay. Why don't I have you step out of the car for a minute? I'm going to have you step back to the front of my vehicle. Okay. >> Control 3 North 34. I'm code for can you send me another vehicle, please? Step up in front of you again. >> Sorry, that was 3DP18 in the front of the vehicle. Pursuit. Throw pursuit. He's going towards the hotel. >> He's running eastbound. He's going towards the parking garage. >> Send back the unit. >> PUT YOUR HANDS UP NOW. WHERE DID IT COME FOR YOU? HE'S UNDER A VEHICLE. >> HOTEL. Go ahead. Don't move. Cross your legs. Cross your legs. Huh? They're >> back there. My car's truck's out there. >> Tomkins, go get his car. Go secure it. >> All right, man. Why'd you run from me? >> I thought I heard a warrant. >> Okay. Well, now you've gone from maybe going to jail where you're definitely going to jail, right? >> Bend your knees. Bring your knees up here. Sit up. >> No problem. So, >> as the suspect was running down this area, he has a small registration packet right there with his uh prepackaged baggies of marijuana. Had that and some paperwork in there. They tried to hide under the car, as well as the registration for the uh places where he's going to deliver to or pick up drugs are all laying over there on the ground. So, canvasing the area, we were able to pick all that up. There's a small package with uh looks like four, three or four dope baggies in it. You wouldn't understand. >> There's no warrant for your arrest, man. You ran and there's no warrant. But you ran cuz you knew I was going to find the weed on you, didn't you? >> No. >> Yeah. >> Just another charge we're going to add to the rest of the charge we got stem from from this whole case. So, >> charge. >> Well, let's see. You got the traffic. You got the traffic violations, which was the reason for the stops. Okay. You got the possession of the mar the marijuana, the little bit that's in the car. You got the possession of the prepackaged narcotics. That's enough to show that it was for sales. So that's a possession charge with sales. Uh you got the obstructing charge for running for me. All except for the possession of the control substance for sales. All of it was misdemeanor. >> As the officers came back to check out the suspect vehicle, it appears as if there's a 22 caliber semi-automatic that's sitting underneath the driver's seat. And he knew that we're going to find all this stuff. So that's what led to him running from me. What's going on? >> We got up in each other's face and then she grabbed me. >> Did you strike him? >> No. No. What? No. All of a sudden just said like this. >> All right. We're being dispatched to a physical disturbance between neighbors. Uh dispatch advised people are still fighting the yard at this time. Hi. >> My brother's here. >> What happened? >> They all left. They uh >> he hit her in the eye. >> Yeah, kind of. >> Let me Let me see you. Okay. >> Right here. >> For no reason. >> How old is your son? >> 21. Almost 21. 20. >> Okay. We're going to check I'm going to check the house. Make sure nobody Everybody's okay. >> Okay. Okay. Go ahead. Watch your back. >> All right. Go ahead. I'm sat here. >> You Michael? >> Yeah. >> I know y'all are going to take me anyways cuz I got warrants. >> Okay. I'm going warn you about that. >> All right. What What's going on? >> See, she was been drinking and she took my girlfriend's car and I told her, "Please don't take the car cuz you've been drinking." And she took it anyways. And when she was drinking, she kept on drinking and and then then she came here and started running her mouth on me. She started running her mouth at me >> and I said, "Please don't." And then she she we got up got up in each other's face and then she grabbed me and just all of a sudden just said like this into my face with her now. And and I kind of for I kind of like wrapped up with her like this to hold her like that and I told her to please calm down cuz she's been drinking and and I kind of somehow we got into the house and and I got her down like this and I said please stop. >> I said and I tried I was trying to calm her down cuz the kids were crying and everything. I said stop. I said, "You need to stop. You need to go in there and sleep." And she would not do it. >> Did you strike her? >> No, I did not. It might have went when I hit her when she fell onto the ground.
