Breathe. Stop. Breathe. Stop. Hey, breathe. Stop. [crying] And through your nose. >> In a shocking incident, police had to step in after a panicked woman reported that her boyfriend had assaulted her and threatened her life. The situation quickly escalated when the victim suffered a severe panic episode right at the scene, forcing officers to request emergency medical assistance. So, what really happened behind this domestic violence call? Who was telling the truth? And what evidence was collected during the investigation? In today's video, we'll break down the full sequence [music] of events, statements from both sides, and how officers handled this high stress situation from start [music] to finish. >> So, um, she said that he is I'm officer. I work for FD. >> U, my last name is Cross. That's why I'm kind of dealing with my wife's one of the, uh, she's actually that one of the bartenders. She and I were talking at the bar. Um, she mentioned that um, her significant other, her husband, um, basically beat the [ __ ] out of her today. She's got, um, some black eye. She's got some scratches on her. Um, of course, this was earlier today, so it's not >> Mhm. >> in the moment. Um, but he she she says she's in fear for her life, right? >> He doesn't want to kill me. >> Yeah. So, >> huh? >> You don't know her personally or anything? >> No, she just talked to me about it >> um today and this I suggested. >> We'll talk directly. >> Yeah. >> Appreciate it. >> Yeah. >> Do you guys work together? >> I had to call his parents last night because he was beating the [ __ ] out of me. >> Why didn't you call her? >> Because he's coming here. >> But why didn't you call us last night? >> Because I I He has a kid. Mhm. >> I don't want charges against him. Like I was trying to be nice of like, you know what I mean? Like, >> so I'll let you know just for the state of Florida, it doesn't matter if you're going to press charges or not. If they pretty much determine that there is probable cause on him beating you up and stuff through the state, the state will prosecute. >> I I just did like with the kid. I love my kid. Like I said, like that's my kid. I didn't want to get police involved. >> I'm just I'm just letting you know that though. So, >> even not trying to scare you because we want you to talk to us, okay? Because this is a serious thing. This is something that's not okay. >> Okay. And I'm going to be honest [laughter] with you. This is not okay. But I'm just letting you know. >> You see me multiple times. >> Yeah. And that's not And that's not okay. [laughter] But I'm just letting you know if we >> find the PC for it that the state will prosecute. Even if you don't want to press charges or anything, if we find PC and we can arrest him through the state. >> Can you please like like you got like I got bruises on me. I got >> Mark. Okay. We got to go through the whole process. Okay. >> I was just information I wanted to let you know about. Okay. So >> Okay. What? So, what happened? >> Um, well, last night basically he was beating me. We got into an argument and he started hitting me and this is the first time because he's also throwing me down the the stairs. >> Mhm. >> But what happened last night? Focus on last night and today. >> Last night. So, him and I got into an argument and he got in my face and I shoved him away and I was like, "Don't get in my face." And then he goes, "The [ __ ] you need don't get in your face." And then he started attacking me. He hit me. Okay. Where did he hit you? He hit me in my chest. He hit me in my head. He's This isn't the first time. Like Like >> where on your head? Right here. >> Did you get hit anywhere else on the head? >> No. Not that I know of. No. >> Okay. Was it like slaps or was it close? was he grabbed my head and slammed it >> against >> on the stairs. >> On the stairs. >> Mhm. Okay. And then what happened? >> And then I go, "What the [ __ ] is your problem?" And he goes, "You're not going to disrespect me, bitch." And then he [gasps] he kept pushing me down, holding me down. He held me down by what? He held me down by my chest. >> Like on your back? >> Yeah, on my back. in my chest and >> Yeah. And then what happened? >> And then I told him, "Get the [ __ ] off me." And then I ran upstairs into our bathroom. >> Mhm. >> And I locked myself in our bathroom. I called his parents to come get him. >> Okay. Did his parents come get him? >> You guys. >> And then he told me he told me today like I go, "Hey, my go like cuz I wanted I [laughter] wanted to make a mess with him. And he goes, "Hey, like I'm at I told him about my geos." And he goes, "Okay, bet." Like I'm going to come there right now. Okay. But like that's all he said he was going to come here. But he also like I told him like, "Dude, you have I have bruises on myself. Like I have injuries from you." and he told me that no one's going to believe me. >> Okay. Did was that over the phone? Like you called him or he called you called him and then he said, "Okay, I'm on my way there now." Okay. >> Like you could see I have bruises on me. Okay. So, where were you hit last night? >> I was hit on my head. I was hit on my chest. And I was hit on my legs. >> Okay. Where on your legs? I was hit right here cuz he tried to like grab me and like Hold on. Can I take pictures? Yeah, of course. >> Was it just this leg? Um, he also did slam me down on this leg, but it was primarily this leg. Okay. Um, and I don't know if you can see it, but he did grab me by my throat. Okay. When he grabbed you by the throat, what did he do? He grabbed my throat and pushed me down the stairs. Tell me you're not going anywhere. >> Okay. Did he squeeze you? >> Yes. >> Did you feel like you were going to pass out? >> Could you breathe when he had his hand on his throat? Was it both hands or one hand? >> It was one hand. >> One hand. Which hand? >> It was his right hand. >> Right hand. >> Mhm. And were you facing each other or was he behind you? >> We were facing each other. >> Facing each other. >> Yeah. Cuz I told him like I was coming I was already on the stairs and I go, "No, you're not coming in because technically the place is my place." And I was like, "Yes, you need to leave tonight. Like you you cannot do this." >> Mhm. >> And he goes, "Fuck you. It's my house." And he grabbed me. >> Okay. For how long did he have the sander on your neck? Um, I I honestly can't tell you, but it was definitely until like I had to fight him off of me. Okay. Um, for how long did you feel like you couldn't breathe? I can't tell you because it was to the point where I had to like push him off of me and like get the [ __ ] off me. >> Were you saying anything when he had his hand around you? >> No, I couldn't. I could not cuz he was just Mhm. Um, I had to physically kick him in his groin to get him off of me. >> Okay. Did he or did you did you like see stars in your vision? You did. Did you ever pass out? >> I was about to pass out. That's what made me >> What's Okay. So, you kicked him and then you pushed him off you. >> Mhm. >> Okay. >> And you said you were in front of each other. >> Yeah. And then where on your how did you get hit on your chest? >> Um so he pushed me down and shoved me down because after I kicked him >> Mhm. >> Um when he and then I kicked him off of me and then he shoved me like down >> by your chest. >> Yeah. To to to get me to stop. >> Do you mind? >> No. Go ahead. I don't care. Cuz I also know I have bruises on here. Like was there any on your arms? Like did he hit on your arm or >> maybe anywhere else? >> He I just got those scratches. Is that from when >> Yeah, that's from him grabbing me cuz I was trying to like turn away and run away from him. >> Um I do have pictures of old bruises from him before. from him. Let me take a picture of you guys. And then where on your head did you get hit right here? Yeah. Did you ever bleed at all? >> No, but you can also see I have bruises. And I also have bruises right here. Go ahead. Did he hit you in the eyes? >> Yeah, he punched me how many times? once to get me to settle down, quote unquote, settle down. Okay. Um, when did that happen? It happened during our argument and I told him like, "I don't want anything to do with you. Get off me." He goes, "You're going to listen to me." >> Was that when you were on the stairs after he choked you? >> Yes. >> Okay. >> He told me that I'm going to listen to him regardless. Regardless if I I'm his. >> Okay. And then you kicked him off. You ran upstairs and locked yourself in the bathroom. >> Mhm. Correct. And then I had his parents come get him. >> Did his parents come pick him up? >> Yes. >> Okay. Have you said anything to him since then besides calling him right now? >> Um he basically told me he's going to come here and then he also told me that um he's going to kill me and that I like like if I'm not like if he sees me with another dude here, he's going to [ __ ] me up. Okay. Um when was that? That was like how is it now? Uh 2 hours ago. >> So you called him 2 hours ago? No, he called me. He called you 2 hours ago. He goes, "Hey, what are you doing?" I was like cuz I told him that I was going to come to Gio. Mhm. Um, and he goes, "If you're with another dude, you know what that means?" And I was like, "What? What? What?" And he goes, "If I see you with another dude, I'm going to you up. I'm going to kill you." Okay. Was that That was all over the phone. >> Yeah. Okay. Do you have a protection order? >> No, but I want to get one, but I don't know how that works in Florida. >> Okay. um has the access to my like my house like do you guys live together? >> Um technically not anymore because his parents came and got got him. >> I mean no >> do you guys >> do you guys like live together? You sleep in the same bed? >> Yes. >> All his stuff. [gasps] Um they got it last night but because I had to call them and tell them to go hey get your [ __ ] because like it has also been cases of his baby mama has had to come because like it's been a situation where him I and his baby mom and his parents all live together where the point of like he has been beating the [ __ ] out of me and his baby mom had to come into the room to come get him off of me. >> Is that last night or another time? >> No, it's been other times. Okay. So, he has beaten the [ __ ] out of me multiple times. Okay. And I don't I just I don't want him here. I don't want him in like like technically he knows the coach in my house. >> Yeah. That's why I'm scared. But they also came last night when he was beating on me and I called them and I go, "Hey, you need to get him." So, they got him. >> Uhhuh. [clears throat] But also, he still knows to my house because like I've emailed my landlord and I go, "Hey, can you change the passcode, please?" And she goes, "She she just has not messaged me back." But does he have does he like get mail to that house? >> No. >> No, not at all. >> Have you both been living at that house? >> Um, we moved in May 31st May >> of this year. >> Yes. Correct. And that's how long you guys have been living. >> But also like I can show you it's my name on that lease. It is however in Florida if they >> he got all of his stuff out. >> There is Hey, listen to lease. >> There are different ways someone can establish residency somewhere whether or not their name is on the lease. >> Um so he got all his stuff out last night. I understand that. However, if he comes here and we see on his driver's license, >> it's not on his driver. No, it is a different address. No. >> Okay. I'm just saying. >> So, can I I'm sorry. Like my rights. >> It's not on his driver's license. That is like he has a completely different address. >> Okay. Listen. So, we're just in a we're just So, pretty much the situation he's just trying to explain is because of the state of Florida, you guys have lived together for that amount of months. So, right now, even though Yes, he took his stuff out, which is a really great step for you. >> Sorry. Can I just sit down, please? >> Yeah, you can. Okay. So, pretty much we're just in that. So that's good that he got all his stuff out because now you can start [music] a process of making sure you can get your code change evicted because then if something hopefully nothing else will happen but if he starts coming to your breath take a breath take a breath. Breathe. Take a deep breath. Stop. Just take a breath. Look at me. Look at me. Look Hey, look at me. Just take a breath. Into your nose. Into your nose. There you go. >> There you go. >> Just breathe. >> Do that again. Just keep doing that. Okay. >> Give it [music] a second. Okay. >> Okay. >> Do it a couple more times. We're not going to talk until you do it a couple more times. Okay. You're okay. Just breathe. You're safe. You're with us. Okay. We're not We're not going to let anything happen to you. Okay. We're here with you. Okay. >> We're not Yes. We're not going to leave you until we figure all this out for you, okay? We're going to make sure you're going to be okay. Okay? So, just breathe. Even if he comes here tonight, you're going to be here with us. >> What am I going to do? If he comes here tonight, what am I going to do? He knows the passcode to my house. He will get inside. >> He's going to beat the [ __ ] out of me. He is going to kill me. >> Just breathe. >> He is going to kill me. >> I don't understand that. Breathe. >> Breathe. >> Okay. >> What am I going to do? He's going to kill me. [gasps] [laughter] >> He's going to kill me. We're not We're not going to talk to you until you breathe. You need to calm down. Just take a breath. >> What am I supposed to do? >> You have the whole story and everything for what happened. >> And did he ever >> He has beat on me multiple times. >> That's not what I'm asking. >> Okay. What? >> So, he said that he was going to come here and if he saw you with another guy, he was going to hit you. >> Yeah. >> Was that was all over the phone? >> Yeah. And then he also told me that regardless, he's going to kill me because I should not be out because I'm his. >> Was that over the phone? >> Yes. >> Together like >> um we have been together for now 4 years or four more months. Sorry. Four months. >> Four months. >> Yeah. >> You've been dating him for 4 months. >> Mhm. We met on Tinder. >> Okay. Do you have a picture of him? >> Yes, I do. I have multiple. So, yes, I do. Do you have any pictures of any scratches or bruises from last night? >> No, he made me delete them all. Do you have them in like recently deleted? He made me No. >> Okay. He told me if he took if I took any pictures, it would be a problem. So, but um let me see. Actually, let me go to my Facebook. Do you want to press charges? >> Yes. >> Okay. Do you want to write a swarming statement about things that happened as well? >> Yes. Okay. If that's like I want to press charges, I am done with him. >> She lost me his daughter's information. Okay. Was she in the house? >> No, she was not thankfully. [music] >> Was she ever in the house during this? >> Um, she was in the house past occurrences where he has beaten the [ __ ] out of me, but she was asleep. But she has been in the house when he has beaten me. [music] >> All right. So I am officer legal task department. I'm conducted official criminal investigation concerning domestic battery. Any false statements about material matters given by a witness under oath constitute perjury [music] which is a first degree misdemeanor according to section 837.012. Raise your right hand. [music] Do you swear or affirm the evidence you're about to give me is the truth and nothing but [music] do you understand that I can only make material mistakes during this investigation. You have committed the crime of perjury. >> Yes. >> You've already been sworn in. >> Yes. >> Okay. >> So, we're going to take >> Can you attest that everything you told me while we were standing over there over here? That is >> that is [music] true to your the best of your knowledge? >> Yes, >> that is. Okay. >> So, we'll take all of that as your sworn verbal statement. [music] >> Um, I just have to ask some clarifying things. >> You said he punched you once in the face. Which eye did he punch you with? >> Kind of like in the middle or so. >> In the middle? >> Yeah. >> Like you could see I have bruises. [music] >> So was it more like your nose? >> He kind of punched me like in this right there. >> Okay. What you can do from here is you can go to the courthouse and get an injunction against him. So, my question is what's going to happen now? >> Well, obviously I need to talk to him. Um, and then we'll go from there. He may or may not go to jail tonight. Um, but I'm just telling you what you can do >> as far as keep things. >> I mean, he's supposed to be here, so like >> I understand. I'm just telling you the options that you have as far as keeping him away from you in the future. [music] So, you can go to the courthouse and petition for an injunction against him. You can use this case number. Do you have you ever previously reported any instance of domestic battery against him? This is the only time. Okay? So, listen to me as far as your your options from here. Okay? You go to the courthouse. You can use this case number and you basically tell the judge everything that's happened and you need an injunction against this person because of everything that's happened in the past. They may or may not grant an emergency injunction while they're in the process of granting a permanent one, but that's that's up to them and how well you articulate your fears and what's happened to you. You can also because you guys live together whether or not he took his stuff out of the house last night or not. You still need to be I would just get an an eviction >> while you're at the courthouse. Okay. >> So then he can't come. Hey, listen. >> You need to breathe. We're kind of we have the we're giving you options on what we're trying to help you on what you can do forward. Okay. But you have to breathe. >> How am I supposed to get home? >> Okay. Just listen. listen to my options for you, okay? While you're at the courthouse doing the injunction, he said he took all of his stuff out of the house last night, right? >> And see if your landlord can change the code, okay? Because then at that point, since he's already taken his stuff out, we can start to articulate. Okay, now he doesn't live here anymore. >> So, I'm just Well, we're trying to figure it out for you. >> You have to listen to me. Okay. >> He messes me back, right? >> He's on the way. >> Okay. >> So, he's coming here. Just exit out of the chat. >> So, what do you want me to do? >> Exit. Just exit out of the chat. Lock your phone. Don't send him anything. >> So, when he comes here, what is he going to do? Like get arrested? >> Just please listen to me, okay? I'm going through the steps with you. While you are at the courthouse getting your injunction, also get an eviction. So then he can't come back and say, "I live here." [music] Then you will be able to show no I evicted you. >> Yeah. The sheriff's office will will give him vote. He'll >> What's going to happen? I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I inter tonight. Okay. This is what's going to happen tonight. Okay. >> Let's get you service and let's see if we can get you home. Okay. If he's coming here, >> he's way here. He's 20 minutes away. >> Fine. That's perfect cuz then we're going to talk to him. Okay. But at least in the meantime, we can see if we can get you home. So then you're both not here. want to go home. >> Okay. >> Okay. >> And we'll figure that out. We'll get you service. Okay. So, you can get to go home. If he's on his way here, >> if he's on his way here, >> we'll wait for him and her and I are going to talk to him. Okay. >> Okay. [music] >> All right. That's what's going to happen tonight. >> I just trust him more because like I don't know. >> Okay. Okay. Well, do you have service now? >> No, I don't. >> Okay, Chad. Hold on. You should still you should still be on on my Wi-Fi. >> Just say okay. [music] >> And also from this point on try to block him curate any sort of communication you can have with him. So block him on Snapchat, block his number, block him on everything. Okay? Cuz then you can also show the courts, hey, I have now have no communication with him at all. Yeah. Okay. So, this is just another suggestion to think about cuz I know you don't want to go home. Okay, >> I want to go home. I'm scared. >> I know. Because of that, you can also see if you can get a hotel room just for a couple days until you're able to go to the courthouse. Okay, >> I can't pay for that. >> Other than that, then I highly suggest calling your maintenance group to see if they can just change. >> I've already called her three times. >> I can't afford a hotel room. >> Okay, just call in the morning as well. Okay. >> Okay. Okay. >> Just try getting them to change it. It's like the your the best thing you can do at this point. Okay. >> Like cuz I have a taser. So if he enters without >> you can protect yourself in your home. But >> hold on. >> But if he has stuff still in your house, >> he does not. >> Okay. I'm just saying if that's what he's going to say, it's going to be a little >> on the edge because he just took his stuff out. You see what I'm saying? Cuz he was already living there for over like 3 4 months. Okay. >> No, he was not. He was it was like >> well whatever it was May to now. >> So um okay so if I also have documentation of >> okay the documentation even if you're you're the primary person on he has been staying with you for that amount of time he lives there. >> Okay that that's that. >> Okay he has established his residency at that place >> in beats the [ __ ] out of me. So >> as of right now technically he still kind of lives there. Okay. But once you change your box and you can confirm he has taken all his stuff out of your house, he doesn't get mail there and stuff. Okay, then you can get the >> documentation. Actually, I actually, you know what? Actually, [clears throat] >> I have it documented that she got it changed. >> When did she change it? >> Yeah. No, she changed it the 27th. >> Look, yesterday. >> Okay. So, she did change it. >> Yeah. So, >> okay, then you're fine. But he still knows because like him and I were together and he watched me. He pulled me aside and watched me put in the code. So he knows. >> Okay. Well, I don't know why that >> ask her to change it again. >> Yeah, >> I tried. >> Okay. >> But um >> Well, then like I said, you need to contact her in the morning then. >> But like I said, I have documentation. >> Okay. But >> if he knows it now, no good, >> unfortunately. >> Yeah. Since he was there when you changed it, then that gonna kill me. >> He's gonna [ __ ] kill me. >> He's gonna kill me. >> Yes, I already did. >> I'm terrified of it. >> Okay. These are the options we giving you. And unfortunately, that is the the only option we can give you at this moment. Okay. >> He's going to kill me. >> Okay. Well, if he's on his way here coming to talk to us, okay, he's going to be here. Okay. >> I just want to leave when he gets here. Please. Please. >> You can leave now. >> Can I leave? Are y'all done? Y'all are completely done with >> Yeah, we're we're good. No, you can leave now. >> So, we're going to hang out here and see if he comes >> for you tonight is >> to get a hotel room. >> Yes. >> I can't afford >> because then he will not he won't have he won't know where you are. You blocked him and everything >> and then at least in the morning in the morning you can talk to maintenance and say I need this immediately changed now and let them know your situation so they can immediately change it and you can go home tomorrow morning or something or tomorrow afternoon. Okay. Monday morning, first thing you go to the courthouse and start that injunction and eviction process. >> That's like your best bet. Okay. Unfortunately, it's like the weekend cuz if not, we would tell you to go like right in the morning cuz then that would just solve everything. >> I appreciate y'all. Thank you. >> Okay. But she's going to document everything and we're we are going to talk to him. >> I'm sorry I've been a booty butt. >> It's fine. Trust me. >> Like, >> okay. We just want what's we want what's best for you. So, we will want to make sure you are going to be safe. And I know it's I know it's a tricky >> pictures everything you needed for me. >> Yes. And that's all going to be documented and that's all going to be uploaded for you. Okay. Everything's going to be under this case number. Okay. And what did he what did he do? >> He hit me. He has put his hands on me. That is that's him. >> Okay. >> Okay. All right. Yep. You're all good. So, Monday morning, first thing, courthouse for the injunction and eviction. Okay. He's going to beat me >> because he knows I left with another man. He's going to beat me. >> He doesn't know that. He doesn't know that. He's not here. >> He doesn't know that. You haven't blocked everything. He >> is not going to know. >> He doesn't know any of that. >> He is not going to know. >> He doesn't know that. >> Okay. >> He's going to know. He's going to know. >> He's not going to know. I can promise you. >> He's not going to know. >> He is not here. I can promise you with 100% certainty. He is not going to know. >> He's not He's not here. Breathe. Breathe. Breathe. Breathe. Hey. Hey. Stop. Breathe. Stop. Breathe. Stop. Stop. Hey. Hey. Breathe. Stop. And through your nose. She breathing. >> Yeah. >> 623 dispatch. >> At this point, we're going to have to march. >> Can we get EMS to our location, please? Our vision just passed out. Okay. >> I think we're going to have to watch my cuz she can't be left alone. Yeah. Yes. >> Hey, just breathe. >> You're okay. We're here. Hey. >> Hey, just breathe. Good. Hey, >> breathe out through your nose. >> I can't breathe. Hey, look at me. Look at me. Breathe in through your nose. >> Hey, just relax. Just breathe. >> See, you're breathing. Okay, >> just breathe. Slowly. Slowly. Hey, just relax. Relax. [laughter] Relax. >> Lay down. Lay down. They're good. They got We got the >> brother's truck in front of the bar. >> Breathe. Just relax. Relax. >> Just make sure that Make sure just lay down, okay? Nothing's going to happen to you. Everybody is here for you. >> Just for you. Have the paramedics go? >> No. Hey, breathe. >> Hey, breathe. >> Breathe. >> Hold on one second. She's not breathing. >> Breathe. Breathe. >> You need to breathe. Breathe. Breathe. >> Breathe. >> Breathe. Sit her up. Sit. Other side. On her side. On her side. >> Breathe. >> No. Not on her stomach. >> Hey, breathe. Breathe. Breathe. You're okay. Just in through your nose. In through your nose. You're okay. In through your nose. You're okay. We're here with you. There you go. There you go. >> No. Lay lay on your side. Hey, don't lay on your side. Lay on your side. Lay on your side. >> Lay on your side. >> Lay on your side. Just like that. Okay. Just Just keep right here. Okay. Just breathe through your nose. >> I got you. Okay. >> You're fine. Just breathe. Keep breathing. You're okay. >> You're okay. Just breathe. >> Through your nose. Breathe. >> In through your nose. Good. >> Good job. Keep going. You're great. That's awesome. >> You're doing awesome. >> Keep going. We're not leaving you. Okay. You're safe with us, okay? You're perfectly fine. Just breathe. >> Perfect. Perfect. >> Just like that. >> Scanning fam. >> I know. Don't worry. You're fine. Just stay on your side. You're fine. Just breathe. >> Yeah. >> In through your nose again. Ready? >> Just breathe. Hey, you're okay. In through your nose. Hey, in through your nose. Breathe. >> Hey, breathe. It's okay. >> Okay. That's okay. That's okay. Just breathe. You're okay. You're good. >> Look, EMS is coming to check you out. Okay, just breathe. Breathe. >> Hey, just breathe. You're fine. You're okay. You're in a safe place. >> Think of think of colors. >> All right. >> Sounds Yeah, she's having like a panning chat. She's been drinking. >> Yeah, she keeps going in and out. >> Hey, my name's Aliana. Liliana, >> we got our shutter coming out. >> Okay. >> Take all that off. >> Did you find her out here? >> No, we've been dealing with her for a whole separate thing. And then she >> when we were almost done with her, she had a panic attack or >> she was talking what half an hour ago. She stand up talking. >> Yeah, she was standing up talking perfectly fine. And I mean, she was just hysterical cuz of what we were talking about with her. But >> the bartender, uh, I did say she may be on some kind of drugs. She's known to taking stuff. So, >> doesn't for us. >> Yeah. Um, hey, I'll follow you guys, but if she starts acting up, just stop. I'll I'll get out with you all. >> That's fine. >> All right. I'll take this. As the investigation continues, officers shift their focus to speaking with the accused man's family to verify additional information. Here, a very different perspective begins to emerge with new statements and details that could change the entire direction of the case. So, where does the truth really lie? The evidence and accounts from the suspect's family raise even more questions as the [music] investigation unfolds. >> Hi. >> Hello. We have to talk to Nicholas. >> Can I say something before you talk to him? This is about Hana. >> She tried to choke my son yesterday and we had to go pick him up in the middle of the night cuz she was a crazy >> Well, we need to we need to talk to him. >> That's fine. I just want to let you know she's a crazy drunk person and she's abusive to him. >> Okay. >> And we had to go get her and she has been boiling up his I understand which is why we're here because we want to talk to him and give him his side of the story. >> Okay. And we do have um when we had to go pick him up yesterday. >> Mhm. >> She was inside her house. Like we recorded this. I have somebody here that recorded it on her phone. There was we have multiple witnesses where she's in the house screaming like demanding. And I told her, I said, "I'm going to call the cops if you don't leave us alone and let us get the things." Because she put her hands on me yesterday. Um she put her hands and stuff on me when I was in there getting. She shoved and pushed me out of the way. I never touched her. I never did anything >> and if this is going to escalate I want to press charges on her >> because she can't mind. Can we talk to yourself first and then we'll talk to you about everything after >> we're going to do one? Yeah, we're going to do one thing at a time. >> We just need to talk to him first. Mom, if you'd like to talk to us outside, we'll talk to you. >> Okay. So, she called me yesterday morning, I guess 2ish 3, something like that in the morning. Said, "Tony, I need to come and get him or whatever." They were fighting and arguing, whatever. And like, >> so, um, she said, "Oh, he put his hands on me. And I said, "Okay, well, what did you do?" And in my in the background, my son is like, "Tell her how you were choking me and everything like that and I've been defending my life because you were trying to kill me." And so I said, "Well, I'm coming for him." So we got over there and his baby mama and her boyfriend met me over there. I said, "We're we're going to get him. We're going to get him out now tonight." This is not the first time that she has tried something like this. She's like crazy. She's a raging alcoholic. She drinks all the time. She steals my liquor. Um, I've been trying to get her out of my house since Easter and cuz she was supposed to come and stay for two weeks. >> I need a place to stay for two weeks. I said, "Okay, you can stay the night for two weeks." She was never on my lease or anything like that over here. And um, so she um, so we went to get him yesterday and everything and then we're over there and she's like she would not leave us alone to get anything like we're trying to like get us stuff. I said just stay in the other room. I said, "We don't want to escalate this situation or anything." And um and I'm downstairs. We're getting stuff or whatever. And she literally comes by me and shove pushes me out of the way and everything like that. Shoves me very forcefully or whatever as we're just trying to get stuff out, begging him, "Don't go. Don't go. Don't go." And I'm like, "No, we're going." I said, "If you don't leave us alone, I'm calling the police." I said, "Because this has gone on long enough." And I said, "You will go to jail because you have put your hands on me now. Leave us alone. Let us get out of here." and she is like has been blowing up his phone. Holy G I have to say I called her some names last night. I will say that. I was like, "You're a bad person. You're I'm 48 years old and I've never ever called another woman a cunt." But I called her a [ __ ] last night. I said, "You're a [ __ ] You're a bad person. Leave me alone. Leave me and my family alone." And she said, "You're a shitty mom." I said, "No, I'm not a shitty mom. I'm here in the middle of the night picking my child up." >> Mhm. >> I said, "Your family wants nothing to do with you. you are done with us. I said we're done. And she won't leave him alone. Keeps blowing up the phone. Has been blowing up his phone all night. Like he has one phone that gets on the internet. They just uses for games or whatever, but I guess his messenger's attached been blowing up all day where she has been incessantly messaging him. And then when after he and um I sent him with um Callie's boyfriend gone, we're outside the house, you know, getting ready to leave and she's in there screaming like we recorded it like they're gone. when mommy video the parking lot or whatever. She's in there screaming or whatever because she's so mad, threatened to kill herself if he didn't come back and like we're trying to leave and I'm literally standing between her and him like this. I said, "Get away. >> You're not coming near my son. Get away." And she's trying to push me out of the way. And I said, "Get away. Don't put your hands on him. Don't touch him. Leave him alone. We're leaving. You said you wanted him gone. I got him going. We're going." >> Mhm. >> She is crazy. There's something wrong with her. I don't know what, but there's Do you have the video? >> Your phone. >> Do you have your ID as well? >> Yes, I do. >> This Yeah. Come here, kid. I want to take you home. >> I'm showing you guys the video. >> Yes, please. One one second. >> She can't. This is outside. We're outside and she's >> This is when you guys were trying to just get in the car and let >> Hold on. Cuz I didn't want her to call you guys and say he was beating on me or the neighbors call say he was beating on her and that's why they were called because we were screaming and he just left or something. So we stayed. >> Okay. Like she is like saying she just called. She says she just begged him to come and pick her up at the hospital. And I said you tell. But the reason that I took this was because there was another time when we were all living together. He literally came into mine in our daughter's room. That's my baby daddy. He came into our daughter's room and he was like, "Yo, I really need a witness." Because when they were walking home from the bar one night, she was extremely drunk. She gets like this every time she's drunk. And she ran into the stone wall. We used to live over there. So she ran into the stone wall and she was taking pictures of it. And she was like, "I'm going to tell them that you did this, this, that, and the third." So he barged in my room panicking cuz obviously he didn't want to get told that he couldn't do it. >> That's just me and his mom out here. This is downstairs. We're outside. >> Elyently just me and Nick's mom outside of her house right now. She is in there screaming bloody murder. >> No. No. She just stopped crazy enough. >> I don't know if she was watching when I was recording or something, >> but she texted me the code to get into this apartment and everything over there and she apparently, you know, and I told her, I said, "You have a problem holding jobs. You've gone to jobs drunk. She gets fired all the time." I told her, I said, "You are not our problem anymore." >> Yeah. you know, because she's like I've been trying to get him away for her from her for months and this it finally came to a head last night and she's like >> last night when we were there too, it was like really weird. She had snippets almost where she was really angry and she would just lash out and start screaming at all of us and then she was fighting and >> and then she's begging him to stay. Don't go. Don't go. Don't go. And I said and um I told him, I said, "Get in the car." I said, "Get in the car." She goes, "You don't talk to him like that." And I said, "He's my son. I'll talk to him the way I want to. Yeah, >> I'm telling him to get in the car cuz we're getting away from you >> or whatever. >> Um, we've already told him, but I highly suggest you talk to him as well and >> or you guys do the same thing >> and go get an injunction against her. >> Okay. >> Um, you go to the courthouse. >> Okay. >> So, what he's filling out now isn't the >> No, that's like a a statement for everything that happened yesterday. It's just pretty much him that it was. So, >> no, no, no. That's not it. That's something you have to go physically go to the court >> and then you can use I'll give you the case number and you can use the case and stuff >> and just explain everything that's been going on. >> She's trying to make it all like she's trying to make it all like it's all him that >> he's not getting arrested. >> He's not going to get arrested. >> Yeah. >> And like she was like texting his friends saying that he had been beating her. >> I also suggest whoever has her phone number whatever you contact just block her on everything. He needs to block her on everything. I have absolutely no sort of contact with her whatsoever cuz it will help his injunction a lot more and especially with what's going on and what we're going to document and put into our report, >> there should be no communication. And because then if that is served and it is served to her and it is in place, well, if she comes over or he invites her over, then it's out the door. He would have to get a whole new one, >> right? And I told him, I said, "I fear that she would hurt you." Because she's already, she said, "I'm going to kill myself if you don't come back." She needs to be Baker. There's something going on there. Like, I'm going to kill myself if you don't come back. I said, "I don't care. Let her." I said, "This is not our problem." I said, "This is just her talking." I said, "I'm telling you now, if you go and see her, she's going to hurt you." And like saying that his 5-year-old daughter is the problem in the relationship. >> A 5-year-old who is the most wonder Oh, she's my granddaughter, so I'm biased, but she's the most wonderful. She wasn't there yesterday, right? >> No, no, no, no. My husband was here with her cuz my husband's like, "If I go over there, this might I" I said, "No, no, I'm going. Don't you don't go." >> Okay. >> Cuz he doesn't like her. He hasn't liked her. He's been like, he does not. He He's like, "I don't Why is she still here?" She said it was 2 weeks. She said it was 2 weeks. Why is she still here? He goes, "Does she have any of her stuff here?" >> Nothing. Nothing. She never lived here. >> They lived together in a different apartment. We lived in same just a different apartment we moved cuz that one was that apartment flooded a couple times so they moved us to here >> and everything and um >> you know and I had told him yesterday morning was it yesterday Friday morning I guess Friday morning like he called me and I could tell some like I said so just leave her alone don't worry about it I said but you can come home I said I want you to know that you have a home you don't have to stay he no mom everything's okay but apparently she had It just built up all day. Like she's >> she has a a drinking problem and let >> me go get the right. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. So I mean she abuses him. She is manipulative. I have never >> other than with my friends who I managed to get away from people have seen anything like this. And >> she had a similar situation and I got her out of that. So she's very protective of him even though they're not together. Um, she's protective and does not want him in a situation. >> I'd like my daughter not to be raised without her father. >> Yeah. >> I mean, it's I know we have a weird situation. We have baby mama, boyfriend, and son and all together, but we are we all get along and we're family. >> Mhm. >> All the issues we've had, he's never put his hands on me. Never made you think he would. Nothing. >> Okay. So, you and him. >> Yeah. >> You guys have the daughter together. Yeah, they have the daughter together. Um, and so >> together for like 4 years, engaged and everything >> and she >> never never felt threatened by him. >> Yeah. And she got married to someone who ended up not being the best guy in the world and >> very similar to >> very similar to the situation. She is just witnessed this in her own life and I was like, "No, I'm coming for you. We're, you know, I told her, "Nope, you're coming. Don't don't worry about that. You're coming." I highly suggest Monday morning, go to the courthouse and start the injunction process, >> okay? >> Cuz then it it might take a while for the judge to grant it. They're probably going to set the court date where you come in and just >> explain everything to the judge and then they'll grant or not. It's entirely up to them and how well you articulate your fears. >> Like I fear for our lives with her because she's like >> as well as him. >> Yes. I mean, I fear that if she thought him alone that in her mind, state, whatever, that she would hurt him and then hurt herself. Like she And honestly, I think if my granddaughter was there that she would hurt her, too. That she would just take out everybody. I really >> I watch the murder shows all the time. I'm like, "Oh, this was crazy. She's acting just like these people do." And I'm like, "This is fearful that I'm afraid she's going to hurt somebody." >> Mhm. And use like the case number. >> Okay. Um, the report most likely won't be ready like for you >> until probably about Wednesday just because it has to get approved by my sergeant and then it has to go through records and they have to upload it to the system. >> So hopefully Wednesday if you go into the police department, you'll be able to get a copy of the report. >> Okay. >> And if you need that to show the judge so we can read through everything that happened. >> But yeah. >> Okay. I really appreciate you guys cuz like I was like, "Oh my god, he's going to get arrested for nothing." You know, he didn't do anything wrong and because >> I said we always have to talk to both people, >> right? I was like, "She's crazy." Even if she she'll make it like she's completely the victim and everything like that. And you know, I told her and she has always been like when they would have arguments at home and he would say, "I'm going in the other room. Leave me alone." >> And um she would like go in there after him and I said, "Leave him alone. you stay out here with me and leave him alone. >> She used to write all his [ __ ] flush his [ __ ] down this way. >> Yeah. Flushed his necklace, flush it down the toilet, break his stuff, all kinds of crap. And I said, she got I said, why are you with her? Why? >> Yeah. >> Like, you know, I've been telling I said, "You can do better than this. This is this is not right." >> I said, "This is not right. You don't deserve to be treated like this." And I >> and I'm just like, "This is crazy." Mhm. >> I've firsthand never seen until her. I've never seen anything like it where it's like in my face and I'm like, >> "Yeah, >> me, your daddy, >> when especially >> if she does like even if the injunction isn't like in play yet and she does like let's just say show up here or something, you can call us and we can trespass her from your property." Okay. >> Okay. So, that means like it'll be it's usually good forever. But if she pretty much comes here and we come here and she's here, she can go she can also go to jail. But the injunction's in play, that's 10 times better. This is just if the injunction isn't in play yet process or something like that, you can do that as well. >> Okay. I know they don't always grant them cuz I had a violent person before and they didn't grant it. >> Yeah. But hopefully hopefully >> it depends on how >> he was coming to my job to kill me and like had told multiple people this and I didn't get it. But I've never had contact with that person again. So >> as the evidence and statements were gradually clarified, the truth behind the incident began to come into focus. After verifying details on scene and [music] gathering all necessary information, officers reached a final decision to place the involved individual under arrest. This moment marked a major turning point in the case with the entire sequence captured on police [music] body cam, showing how law enforcement managed the situation and carried out the arrest process by the book. >> Hey, you remember those? [music] >> Yeah. Remember those? Are you feeling better? [music] >> Hold on. Stay on your >> [music]
