Huh? What was that? Oh, I was just on the outside. Oh, yeah. No, I'll let you out here in a [Music] second. All right. If you want to head inside, I'll be right behind you. And if you want to quickly go to the bathroom, we can let you do that. [Applause] Meet you right out here then. Okay. [Music] [Music] [Music] Man, are you all right in there? I can't hear you. [Music] [Music] Hannah, are you doing all right? Okay. Just making sure you're doing all right. Oh, no. I couldn't hear you at all. Okay. So, Um, let's step over here for right now. That way we're out of the way if anybody needs to come and use the bathroom. Um, obviously you were operating your vehicle, so I want to make sure that you were safe to be operating that vehicle and running through just field standardized field sobriety exercises. Okay. Do you have any physical defects that stop you from um walking in a straight line, balancing on one foot? No. No. Honestly, I will say if I go anywhere in public, I have a bad habit of just staying by one foot. Okay. So, you got pretty good balance then? Yes. Okay, perfect. Um, any issues with your eyes, glasses, contacts? Do you have anything like that? No, nothing. Okay. So, what I'll have you do first is stand with your heels and toes just like how I am. And then I'll just have you look straight ahead. Okay. Can you see the tip of my finger? The one that I have raised up. Yes. Okay. Now I'll have you put your hands down at your side. Okay. So, what I want you to do is I want you to follow the tip of my finger with your eyes and your eyes only. Don't move your head. You understand that? Yes. Okay. Don't move your [Music] head. Heat up here. [Music] [Music] Heat. Heat. It's all right. I'm already going to fail this now, aren't I? It's all right. Just got one more each time. Okay. Or do you not want to do it anymore? I can do it, but I already know I'm probably going to fail. So, okay, this time I'm going to go up. Okay, same thing. Just with your eyes following. Okay, I'll let you relax a little bit while I explain the next one. Um, I'm going to have my finger in that same spot right in front of your face. But for this one, instead of going from side to side, I'm going to move my finger in a circular motion. Okay? And then I'm going to come towards the bridge of your nose. It's going to look like I'm going to touch your nose, but I'm not going to. Okay? I want you to follow the tip of my finger while I do that. Even when I come towards your nose, while you're following the tip of my finger, if you feel like your eyes are going to cross, just naturally let them cross. Okay? Don't like fight it or try to resist it at all if it feels like they're going to cross. Understand that? Yes. Okay. Still see the tip of my finger already. Yes. Okay. [Music] One more [Music] time. Okay. So, for this one, I'll have you stand right where you're at, but then face this way. Okay. Agree that this is a a flat level surface. the best that we're going to get right now. Like a beam in between. Yeah. Exactly. So 4 in. Exactly. So this is this is going to be the flattest best spot we're going to get. What I want you to do is I want you to imagine there's a line coming out of your left foot and take your right foot, put it right in front of that touching heel to toe. Yep. And then right foot. Okay. So now stand just like that with your arms down at your side. Okay. Don't move from this position until I tell you to. Do you understand that? Yes. Okay. So, what you're going to do is when I tell you to begin, what you're going to do is you're going to take nine to heel toe steps down that imaginary line. Nine. Yep. When you get to your ninth step, your front foot is going to be your left foot. Leave it planted. Take a series of small steps turning 180° and then doing nine to heel toe steps back down the line. Okay? And I'm going to demonstrate it a little bit for you. Okay? A little something like this. 1 2 3 small [Music] steps. One 2 three. Okay. I only did three for the demonstration to make it a little bit quicker, but you're going to do nine. Okay? So, you're going to do nine steps down, turn, nine steps back. When you do this exercise, it's really important to look down at your feet. Keep your arms down at your side. Count your steps out out loud. And then don't stop the exercise till you've completed the entire thing. So I'm forward step step back and then nine back. Yep. Any other questions? No. Okay. So once you start in that position that I had you started in before. All right. And then you can begin. We're going to count out loud. 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 Heat. Heat. [Music] [Music] [Music] Okay. Um, next one. You're going to stand like this like we did before with your heels and toes together, arms down at your side. Either foot of your choice does not matter. What you're going to do when you're ready. And after I get done explaining everything, is you're going to raise whatever foot of your choice approximately 6 in off the ground. Okay? Keeping both of your legs straight. 10. Two. You're going to keep both of your legs straight. You're going to look down at whatever foot you have raised up. And then you're going to count out loud. Okay? It's going to look a little something like this. 1,00 1,002 1,003 1,004 1,005 and so on and so forth. Okay? It's important to look down at that raised foot with your eyes. Keep both your arms down at your side, counting out loud. And then for this one, keep going until I tell you to stop. Okay. Do you know uh what foot you're going to raise? I do. Unfortunately, I'm used to my foot up like this or like this. Okay. So, I'm assuming you're going to raise your left foot. Yes. Okay. So, again, remember even the one that you have raised, you got to keep that leg straight. Okay. Both the legs straight. So whenever you are ready you can begin. I'm done with that raised foot. [Music] Remember, okay, you can stop. So, you said before five to six beers. I think that's what you said before. I said before you said you had about five or six beers. I think that's what you said. Okay. So, this is just going to show it'll show and then it'll probably just Okay. So, all zeros. That's what it is right now. So, take a deep breath. Blow into it like you're blowing up a balloon. Just wants you to know that my lung capacity is really bad. Okay. Just do it. Just do the best that you can. Okay. blow. Perfect. Thank you very [Music] much. Do you feel like you're safe to drive in your honest opinion? In my honest opinion is that I know that if you follow me, I mean, even if you don't, I can make it back home just fine. Okay. Where's home again? Okay. Well, we're by the quick trip that's over by the hospital right now. Okay. Cuz you you're in Elmwood Park. Okay. But right now, you're over double limit. Yeah, that makes sense. Okay. So, I'll have you just face that door right now. Put your hands behind your back. You're going to be under arrest for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence. Okay. You can just relax your hands. Okay. I'm going to put the backs together like that. [Music] Are those too tight at all? Okay. I'm going to double lock them so they don't get any tighter. Okay. Okay. I'm going I'll grab your purse for [Music] you. All right. And then we'll walk back out to my squad car. 94 headquarters. You can show me 1095 1055. I'll go down this way and I'll grab the door for you. We'll go that way. And then black car all the way down at the [Applause] end. That other officer already checked you, so we're good to go there. We'll just walk on that side. Yep. And then I'll just have you stand right there for right now. All right. Careful getting in. And then I'm going to reach over and put your seatelt on. Okay. [Applause]
