Um >> but she I mean she got out of the car super quick. So like she wasn't stuck or anything but >> Okay. >> I definitely told her get out because I didn't know if it was going to like go on fire or something. >> What did she tell you what her name is? >> Um no. >> Okay. I kind of just was I looked up to be honest. cuz I was looking up to see if the light was going to turn green, you know. >> So, you looked up, you saw both the lights, >> and I literally just saw her car flip. >> Okay. So, you just saw her car. >> Yeah, I just saw her car, but I seen another car drive off like in front of her, you know, but I just seen her car flip. That's what like freaked me out. I didn't even want to pull over to be honest. I didn't want to find her like >> Yeah. No, I hear you. You know, I mean, my brother had just had this happen in 2019 to him on Highway 70 and he died, you know, instantly. He had a rollover in his truck and he died. >> So, when I seen the car, >> I was kind of hesitant, you know, but then I was like, "Fuck, I need to call 911, you know, like cuz I've been in situations like this and I I appreciated the help that over, you know." >> I hear you. Yeah. So, >> but then when I got over here and she's like out of her car, but like she's still in there looking for her phone. I'm like, "Girl, like you're in shock. And does the officer got your information? >> Yes, they did. No, that's okay. But >> yeah, >> I was going to wait to see if she needed a ride, but this is her mom. >> It's going to be a different ride now. So >> Oh, I know. >> Unfortunately. >> Oh, yeah. >> But she is Okay. This is >> Hi. >> I'm her mom. >> Okay. >> Yeah. Not uh the Gerine's mom. >> Okay. All right. Uh yeah, it's uh she was a witness. She was going to give her a ride, but you're here now. I was at the light to be honest and I just seen her and another car and I seen the other car trying to do the passing lane. Cuz she said it on my phone. >> Oh, there you go. >> Um, so I'm going to be transparent with you guys. Right now, they're investigating her cuz she admitted to drinking. Okay. >> So, they're going to do some tests, you know, make sure she's good and all that. >> Do what you guys need to do. >> But, like I said, the important thing is that she's okay. She's up and walking. Uh, she she said she Oh, she couldn't Oh, she did find her phone. She called you, right? >> No, she didn't. >> No, she was dying off. >> But she did find it. >> She did find it. >> She That's what she was doing in the car. And then this happened here. So, I'm going to have my officer take photos. >> Okay. Um, we got the tow truck on the way so we can get it rolled over so you guys can get personal stuff out of there. Whatever you need to get out of there. >> Okay. >> Um, and hopefully we can get the truck open. Do you have anything in the trunk you think that you might need? I >> I don't know. I'm going to read you something. Okay. >> I'm Miranda. >> No. >> This is going to be the New Mexico Implied Consent Advisory. Okay. >> Listen to me. I'm about to tell you something important. You are under arrest for driving while intoxicated. The New Mexico Implied Consent Act requires you to submit to a breath test to determine the alcohol content of your blood. After you take our test, you have the right to choose an additional independent test. If you choose to take this additional independent test, you have the right to a reasonable opportunity to arrange for a physician, a licensed nurse, a laboratory technician or tech technologist who is employed by a hospital. >> Or a physician of your own choice to perform an additional chemical test. The cost of this additional chemical test will be paid by the law enforcement agency. Do you agree to take our test? >> Yes. >> Okay. When the field sobriety tests wrap up, the rollover at Mayfield and Valley is no longer just a cut off and lost control story. Based on her statements and what officers observed on scene, they make the call to arrest her for DUI and take her for a medical check as part of the postc crash procedure. The body cam ends on a sobering reminder. Even a little alcohol can come with a heavy price. Do you think this was mainly caused by the other car cutting her off or by the fact that she had been drinking?
