Is that Sean? >> I think so. >> Is that Sean? >> I think so. >> Good. Thank you. Come on this way. Don't move. >> I wasn't driving this car. Period. Then what? >> That I don't That's what I don't know. I know what the car was involved in, but I wasn't driving. On December 27th, 2021, deputies rushed to Northwest 9th Avenue in Wilton Manners, Florida, after receiving frantic calls about a vehicle that had crashed into children walking on a sidewalk near a bus stop. Investigators say Sha Charles Greer was driving a Honda Accord southbound when a Broward County Transit bus began merging into traffic. Instead of slowing down, Greer attempted to pass the bus, lost control, and drove off the roadway onto the sidewalk. In just seconds, the car struck six children. 5-year-old Paris Kylie Jones and six-year-old Andrea Fleming were killed instantly and pronounced dead at the scene. Four other children were rushed to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. One of those victims, 10-year-old Lazia Stokes, remained hospitalized for months on life support. Lzia later died from her injuries. >> Oak Park. >> Ma'am, you step out. Come this way. Is that Shawn? >> I think so. >> Is that Shawn? >> I think so. >> Good. Thank you. Come this way. Do not move. Stay right there, ma'am. Do not move. Hands there. >> Call it out. Call it out. >> Power line and OPB. >> Don't move. >> Okay. That's what this is for. What the [ __ ] did I do? >> Right next to >> What's your name? >> Sean. >> Sean what? >> Okay. >> Confirmed. Target is in custody. >> Sean Greer. Correct, sir. >> Yeah. >> Yep. >> What did I do? >> Goodness. There you go. >> You all right? >> Yeah. Thanks, buddy. >> Can you tell me what happened? >> Like, what the good? >> Like, how the did you even find me in the car? Like, what? I don't understand the happening. >> Sit sit down. >> Sit down right there. Oh, >> am I under arrest? You're being detained right now. Yes. Detective speak to you in a minute. >> Okay. Well, regardless, I want my lawyer. >> All right. Well, no, there's no detective. Not a problem. We're going to get you. >> My friend asked me for my lunch. >> I got you. I got that way. You don't get yourself in trouble. You work with them. No, we just met through mutual friends. >> So, just um >> he just said, "I need a ride." And I was like, "Yeah, >> bear with me. Um give us a few minutes." And um >> can I call my boss? >> Yeah, that's fine. Yeah, >> I'm just >> Yeah, just on there. >> Definitely not how I want to spend my two. >> No, I understand. Um probably you guys, too. >> Hey, Par. Yeah. Go ahead. So yeah, um the detect will explain everything that's going on. Just to be fair, don't speak to him or whatever you say as long as whatever else is okay. That way it'll keep you from getting into any trouble. >> Right. He The only thing is he just asked me to call his mom to let her know that he was arrested. So that's >> So just hang tight on any phone calls until he's an adult obviously, right? Yeah. Okay. So >> do you mind if I hold your phone till we get over there if you don't mind? Okay, I appreciate uh just it's equal possibility. Again, I don't know if you use your phone or not. So, got to uh could we use that as minutes? Maybe not. So, just for that reason, but you don't mind that we hold on to it, right? Okay. Appreciate it. Thank you. You have any other cell phones here? His phone? >> I was just going to ask you. >> That's his phone. >> Oh, yeah. We need that. Okay. Any other cell phones in here? >> No. >> Not that I'm aware of. >> Okay. Did he have any cell phones on him? No, sir. Okay. This is his phone, she said. So, um, I appreciate it. Just give us a few minutes, uh, and just follow the great truck. All right. >> Instead of stopping to help, Greer fled the scene, leaving behind chaos, injured children, and devastated families. Witnesses described a horrifying scene as bystanders tried desperately to help before first responders arrived. Deputies later located Greer's damaged vehicle near his residence, missing its front bumper. Evidence from the crash tied the car directly to the scene, and Greer admitted his involvement. At the time of the incident, Greer was driving with a suspended license and was already on probation for a prior offense. Have a seat over in this black chair. >> All right. So So my name is my name is Detective Strowsky. This is Detective Deus. I'm not sure if he already introduced himself. >> No, I didn't. I'm sorry. Um, we're the ones that's investigating kind of everything. Okay. Uh, before we go into any other questions, uh, read you your rights. >> I'm not under arrest. >> At this time, no, you're not under arrest. >> So, how are you guys able to detain this? I don't understand. If I didn't do anything wrong, how am I in cuffs? And how am I being treated like a criminal if I'm not under arrest? >> So, right now, you're you're being detained for a criminal investigation. >> Okay. >> So, so we're conducting criminal investigation. You're not under arrest at this point. You are detained. Before I ask you any questions, I want to advise of you of your rights under the law. You understand? I'm a police officer. Mhm. You have the right to remain silent. That is you need not talk to me or answer any questions that you do not understand. Should you talk to me? Anything you say can and may be used against you in the court of law. You have the right to talk to an attorney before talking to me and to have an attorney here with you during questions now or in the future. If you cannot afford to retain your attorney and you want one present, one will be appointed to you before we ask you in questions. If you decide to answer questions now without an attorney present, you still have the right to stop answering at any time until you talk to an attorney. Knowing understanding your rights that I explain >> to you, are you willing to talk to me without an attorney? >> Mhm. >> Is that a yes? Yeah. >> What do you think this is about? >> I haven't done anything. I've I've stayed clean. I've stayed out of trouble. That's it. >> Um, you have a car? >> No. >> You don't have a car? >> No. >> Never had a car? >> No. >> You have a 2009 Honda? >> No. >> Never. >> Holding one. >> Never driven one cuz I don't have a license. >> What is What does holding one mean? >> It was being transferred into my name and I was buying it. I was in the process of fixing my license. So you were buying it from who? >> Lisa. >> Okay. Who is she to you? Um >> long friend. Honestly, I was friends with her son and then me and her became friends and just a honestly good friend. >> So yesterday morning you wake up around 9:00. The car is there. >> Mhm. >> Uh you go to your sisters and then later on in the day you meet up with Mindy and then what happens after that? I stayed with Mindy last night. >> Okay. >> Came back this morning. The car was gone. >> Okay. >> Um we have reports that the car was involved in something and we're just trying to figure out >> what was the car involved in. >> So there was there was huge damage to it. So we're trying to figure out what happened to it. >> I haven't even seen the damage. >> So what? So where? >> You tell me. >> You tell me. >> I'm asking you. >> The damage on the car. Where's the damage on the car? >> It's kind of all over. >> There was no There was absolutely no damage on that car. >> When you saw it last, >> there's no damage on the car. Okay. >> We fixed it up. >> Where was the damage that you guys did? >> There was roof the the inliner roof was hanging down. The [ __ ] the plastic on the thing was hanging off. >> All right. So, just just run me through yesterday. >> I went to Walmart across the street from my sisters. Took the bus to my sisters. went to Walmart, then went to my sisters, then got picked up by Mindy, and that's it. >> What time did you take the bus to go to go to Walmart? >> Say like 10:11. >> 10:11. Um, so you were up at Walmart the whole time. You're up at your sisters the whole time. >> There's video of me in the Walmart. >> Okay. >> At like 10 or 11. >> It's not 11:30ish, but by the latest. Yeah. I'm in that Walmart. >> Did you go home at all? >> No. Um, how long are you at your sister's house still? To >> like 6:00 when Mindy got off work. >> And then what time did you get to your sister's house? >> What time did I get to my sister's house? From Walmart? >> Yeah. >> I don't know. I was probably at Walmart for like an hour, hour and a half. >> So, what time? >> Say like 1 >> 1:30. >> We're investigating a serious crime. Everything is leading to you. So, we're just trying to say it is or it isn't. Okay. >> I wasn't driving this [ __ ] car. Then what? >> Period. >> Then who what? >> That I don't That's what I don't know. I'm not lying to you about losing the key. I'm not lying to you about not [ __ ] thing. I know I I know what this is about. >> I know what the car was involved in, but I wasn't driving. >> So, what was it involved in? >> Six kids getting hit. >> When did you find out about that? >> This morning. I have >> Lisa. >> So Lisa told you >> kind of found out. Yeah. >> Okay. When she said like I mean that doesn't you don't think to like oh wait a second I had that car. >> What am I supposed to think? Hey I'm on probation. Let me go turn myself in for a car that I'm not even supposed to be in possession of. I don't even drive and let me call the police and just turn myself in to talk to them. You guys, obviously you're going to sit here and think that's a great idea. But in my mindset, I've been on probation for 3 years. I'm trying to finish this [ __ ] up. >> I I understand that. >> You know what I'm saying? Get that. >> Like, and now I'm involved in all this. This violates me completely. >> And that's it would it would it would be worse than a violation. There's more there's more reasons that we have you here than just you have a car that you're not supposed to have or you have some weed in your pocket or you're on probation. I don't give a about that. I really don't. The weed, I could care less. The car that you don't have, I think you're allowed to have it because when I spoke to Lisa, she said, "Yeah, you have it." So, that's a legal transfer. Whether you haven't paid for it, doesn't matter. You're still in possession of it legally. That's fine. So, I don't care about that. The driving, if you're driving without a driver's license, that's a citation. Okay? If something happened after that, if you got into a crash and and you don't have a driver's license, it's a citation. If you leave and somebody hurts, that's worse. And we're not trying to jam you up for something you didn't do. If you didn't do it, we're trying to find out what happened. If you didn't do this, we're trying to find who did so that we can put these famil family's minds to rest so that we can say, "Hey, we had somebody. It wasn't him, but he he led us to this person. Now, we're going to investigate this person. We're asking you questions. >> Mhm. >> The questions we ask you, we already have the answers to. >> Correct. >> Right. I'm >> well aware of that. >> Okay. So, if we're asking you a question and we already have that answer, why are you going to lie about that answer? So, who who who was driving the car yesterday if it wasn't you? >> And that's the answers I don't have. >> Because we have video that it was a white male. >> You know that? H. >> How do you know that? >> Cuz you just told me, >> right? I just told you that. >> So, I said yes. >> Okay. So, how do you know I'm not lying? >> Cuz you're a cop. >> Okay. >> And did you sit here and lie to me? You're allowed to do that? I don't know. >> Legally, we're allowed to, but >> we're allowed to, but we're not going to. >> What the [ __ ] >> I have no reason to lie to you. >> So, what the >> We're trying to get the story. We have video of a white male driving, hitting six kids, killing two. We have witnesses saying your mom picked you up. >> Help us understand how a car you don't drive, for which you lost the keys over a month ago, ends up missing from your place, but conveniently ends up right back at your place after all this happens. Just help us understand that. Like like how considerate is a person that says, "Let me take this car from this guy, but then let me put it right back where I got it from." >> I was coming back from Walmart in that car. I didn't hit any kids. >> Okay. >> I would know if I hit six kids >> and I would have stopped. >> I was driving that car. I shouldn't have been driving that car. >> I swerved out of the way of the bus, but I did not hit any children. I didn't. I know I didn't. So then what did you hit? >> I hit the pole and I see where I hit the pole. I would know. >> And at this point, bro, I don't give a I want to give [ __ ] truth to everything. I would know if I hit some kids. I would have stopped. I'm a good person, bro. >> Okay. >> I'm scared or not, I don't give a >> Okay. So, let's take Let's forget about that for a second. >> So, you So, you were driving. I was driving >> around what time did all this happen? >> Whatever time it happened, bro. I don't know the specifics of that part, bro. >> All right. Who was with you in the car? >> Myself. That was it. Just driving. I was I was coming back from Walmart. That's true. Was I have receipts? My room floor right now is filled with my groceries still. I didn't hit any [ __ ] kids. Personally, I swerved out of the bus. There was people behind me as well. I I would tell you if yes, I accidentally ran over some kids, but I I can't physically sit here and believe myself saying it because I didn't I didn't hit I didn't I would have [ __ ] saw six kids. >> So all all by the pool, we have we have kids that got hit somewhere. >> Hit no kids, dog. And I know you listen to people every day and [ __ ] and obviously it's not your job to believe and what not to believe, but I didn't hit no kids, bro. >> There were kids hit on on that sidewalk. There was there was kid kids hit near that pool that that >> I love kids, bro. I played stepdaddy to hundreds of them out here. I love kids, bro. I wouldn't >> We have video that shows your car hitting kids. We have your We have your bumper. >> So, right now I'm being charged. >> But now you're being charged. >> Yeah. >> Can you tell me what with like I didn't kill no kids, so you can't charge me with murder, right? >> You're not getting charged with murder. >> It's not a murder charge. >> Murder manslaughter. >> It's a leaving the scene charge cuz you you left the scene. >> How serious is that charge? >> Because you were in an accident and you left because you were in a crash and you left the scene. >> And how serious is that charge? >> It's a felony. >> Yeah, >> it's a felony >> on top of the five felonies I'm already facing right now. So being thrown under the [ __ ] prison. I appreciate y'all doing your job, bro. I really I really wish I have more answers for you guys, but I didn't hit any kids. >> It's all right. It's all right, man. You all we wanted you to do was to tell us the truth. >> Yeah. >> That's your truth. Then that's what we want. >> All right. >> That's it. We're done. >> Down here. >> Advising passed out. Possible overdose. They have an open time all the way to the end >> all the way. Ow. Ow. >> Can you go around the other side? I'm going to put the seat belt on. >> Yeah. Just put it like on your side. It's a little uncomfortable. >> All right. in the plaza on the corner of Oakland and 21 Avenue. Oakland and 21 Avenue. She just keeps saying that she needs EMS now. She's possibly running. >> Huh? >> Let me try and find out. 51 BS main jail one time for TJ responding 4200 417 >> about 597 trans right in here.
