Deputies responded after receiving multiple reports about a suspicious vehicle parked along the roadside near Interstate 94. Callers described a driver who appeared unconscious behind the wheel, raising immediate concerns about public safety. You got a Bacardi there on the floor board. Looks like it's empty. Hey there. The driver was asked to step out of the vehicle so they could ensure his safety and continue their investigation. He suddenly lashed out and punched the officer in the chest, further escalating the situation. Moments later, officers physically removed him from the vehicle. He was ultimately taken into custody and transported for further processing. The suspect was charged with driving under the influence, assault on a peace officer, obstruction of a law enforcement officer.
