on February 22 2023 police officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for suspicious driving once talking to the driver the officer noticed that the driver might be under the influence of alcohol good evening officer strathman nominee Petey I don't think I need to tell you why I'm stopping you right yeah yeah you got that okay yeah we were just uh flipping her vehicle around this is my house right here okay I know that doesn't have anything to do with driving in that manner with this kind of weather going on right yeah I know but you can turn around without driving like that right I don't want to hear excuses you drove like a dummy and that's okay it happens a lot when it snows right it just happens around the block so okay but like I already said I don't know yes I don't want the excuses they're really bad you have your license proof of insurance on you uh I do not yeah I did not we're just about to flip that vehicle to both of them belong to her so dude you have your license on you got it I do not no no okay I'm gonna give this back to you so we don't misplay six I have a problem with hanging on to things thank you yeah so you don't have your ID on you because you were just moving cars yeah because we're about to put that one yeah okay she lives right here yeah I I would want to move them too because we're doing the calendar parking stuff and some people go crazy on parking tickets lately I don't blame you I try to only do it when it snows because really they're I don't see the benefit of them or it's not snowing what's your first name no not yours the operator full initial and your last name winter like the season yeah just like what we're doing yeah I'm not a fan date of birth is your ID through Wisconsin yeah and it's expired I just tell you that okay how much have you had to drink tonight none how much have you had to drink incredible I smell alcohol coming out of the car not Red Bull so are you or which one of you is lying to me I mean if you're adults it's clearly find a drink well I was flipping the car because three hours ago I'm not gonna tell you about that but okay cool I'm just looking the reason why I do want you to tell me is because I am trying to figure out where the smell of the alcohol is coming from and it's from the operator then I need to decide then we need to go ahead with field sobriety if we have to that's why I prefer you just tell me it doesn't seem like it's coming from you just because you're closer and when you talk I smell it so I feel like it is coming from you again well that would make sense okay how much have you had tonight uh honestly I have had one beer Just One Beer yeah how big of a beer was it 12 ounces I believe just the normal one normal can of beer what kind of beer not that low okay so you have one Modelo at what time what time is it now I I believe uh 20 minutes before we departed it's 12 41. yeah it's 12 30 I think I had one probably gonna be doing fields in a minute okay all right well let me just add your names to my call and probably gonna run you through fields to make sure you're safe to be driving okay okay but we were just flipping cars yeah but you're still sending consolation I know but you're still operating a motor vehicle in an unsafe manner on a public roadway for sure okay for sure I'll be right back thank you go ahead I'll give Andrea's license to you to pass over to her yep one second all right so Andrea you said this is your house right here my house okay so you're you're free to go back into the house if you want or you can stay and watch the weather's just kind of crummy so I want to let you know if you wanted to be let go you totally can the weather is really crummy so would you rather do field sobriety over at wakanda we have the parks department that we can do it indoors where it's a little nicer if you'd rather do it here in the snow that's fine with me too it's whatever I want to give you the best shot at doing good at these so it's up to you if you want to go to an indoor temperature control area or outside in the snow okay um I guess I'll do it right here yeah all right sure it's only three blocks down there and then it's dry you'd have lights down we can heat give you the best benefit of the devil it's up to you I don't mind doing it out in the snow but it's just I'll do it for me okay all right I'll have you step out and then Andrea if you want to wait here you can if you want to go in the house that's fine too foreign [Applause] Ty I thought for sure you're gonna go inside but anyways yeah I heard that he told me he was expired not a little oh get out of it no no I'm not following directions super great yeah [Applause] you can look just 10 and go ahead keys they have no knives no wallet no weapons tamper so you sure you sure you want to do them here yeah okay I have nothing to hide well yeah we just want to give you your best shot right yeah I was doing it I wouldn't want to do it right here sure that's you you're right I was just swim in our car so I know and I already went over that right a few times yep how dry Behavior driving behavior like that's not acceptable just because you're turning a car just got carried away a little bit you know yeah all right well have you been through Wheels before yeah okay I'll be standing over here I'll be standing in front of my car but face your car so the first thing I'm going to be doing is just looking at your eyes obviously with your feet together in your arms at your sides can you see the tip of my finger yes I can I can all right so you'll be following the tip of my finger with your eyes and you'll hold your head still so follow my finger with only your eyes does that make sense okay any questions no ma'am do you flip your hat around please my head around yep yep okay if you wanna just leave your hood down for a minute once we're done with the Eyes Part you can put it back up I know it's cold out here tilt your chin down just a little bit perfect thank you I'll be going up twice one two okay you can relax for a minute if you need to warm up your hands your pet search for weapons so it's okay if you want to warm your hands up for a minute I'm going to do it right underneath it sounds good yeah it's cold out tonight yeah all right so the next one is the walking turn the first part of the walking turn that I'm going to explain to you is the instructional stance so I'll put you in this instructional stance and you'll stay like that until I tell you to begin the rest of the exercise okay okay I don't want you to walk into the back of your car outside I'll have you just step out this way so you can walk past your car like stand right here we'll make sure to watch for traffic for you keep you safe so the instructional stance you'll imagine a straight line off your left foot you'll put your right foot heel to toe in front of your left with your arms at your sides so you can go ahead and do that this is called the instructional stance I want you to stay right like that until I tell you to begin okay so when I tell you begin you'll be taking nine heels toe steps down that imaginary line leaving your front foot on the line use your back foot to turn yourself nine heels toe steps back down the line it'll look like this one two three and so on until you get to nine I only went to three when you get to nine leave your front foot on the line use your back foot to turn yourself nine heels toe steps back down the line one two three over here right now or do I have to keep it there right now so you'll do nine heel of those steps back down the line while you're doing this I want to keep your eyes on your feet so that answer is one question count out loud and don't stop walking until I tell you or until the exercise is done so do you have any other questions about the walking turn the Shivering well I will take into account that it is cold and snowy and windy but you also knew that and chose to do them outside right okay okay so you do you understand the walk and turn I do okay any questions at all nope no okay when you're ready you can begin one two three four five six seven eight nine one two three six seven eight okay all right you can relax again warm your hands up so the last exercise is the one leg stand we can step back over here in front of my squad so that we're not standing on the road so while I explain this to you obviously with your feet together and your arms at your sides when I tell you to You'll raise either leg it doesn't matter which one you want to raise you'll raise your foot approximately six inches off the ground keep your foot parallel to the ground you'll count out loud one thousand one one thousand two one thousand three and so on until I tell you to stop it'll end up being about 30 seconds while you're doing this keep your eyes on your raised foot count out loud and don't stop until I tell you to stop the exercise okay so I'm gonna stick one without about six inches off the ground I'm gonna count one one thousand two one thousand until you tell me to stop yup yup and keep your eyes on your raised foot count out loud yep okay don't stop until I tell you to any other questions you understand all right you can begin foreign all right you can go ahead and stop have you ever done a PBT before yeah were you blowing it yep okay should be like the last time you did one then you'll seal your lips around the tube and blow really hard like you're blowing up a balloon yeah okay we'll both see that we're we have zeros on there okay you steal your lips around the tube blow really hard okay let me grab the tube off of the end of that thank you okay so remind me again how much you said you had to drink tonight I said I had a Modelo about 10 minutes before you stopped me I never realized we had to flip the cars yep okay anything else besides that one beer uh we had some wine bit before that but I didn't think it was worth mentioning so do you feel like you're safe to be driving uh for driving the car around the block with no traffic during the snowstorm yes was I driving safely no okay uh but oh the matter of what I was doing now how come you didn't tell me about the wine earlier when I said I was just trying to figure out where the smell of alcohol was coming from I guess I come from more drinking than yeah okay that really be a mentioned because I was during dinner because it was her nephew's uh birthday party so okay what time was dinner at for the party okay so we did drink some water okay all right well based on it was before then and we just went in the car all right I'll have you put that tube in your pocket So based on my observations from the field sobriety test I do not feel like you're safe to be driving so it'll be placed under arrest for OWI tonight yep backs your hands together please is there anything you need out of that car because I talk to my girlfriend once we get into cuffs I can go knock on the door for you he also revoked driver's license yes I based off my observations from field sobriety yes if you're asking about driving status no I do not take that into account all right okay so what did that blow then it'll be in the report if you want to look it up oh you can't tell me right now let me finish but I will tell you you are more than twice the legal limit really all right let's turn around and face my car we're just gonna double check that we don't have anything on you my road just got a lot longer didn't it the road yeah my roads are getting out of trouble oh sure yeah yeah really really cool okay so what's going on have you met Lieutenant Boyle before and we're just it's just flipping our mind I had a really bad past experience with him oh no I don't well it seems like a little too comfortable well really with him grabbing me on the show well it's because I don't actually have no idea about this past hey Wyatt we're just keeping you safe so you don't slip and fall asleep I'm sitting in front of my girlfriend's house where I live and I'm a real estate right now I'm handcuffs yeah we don't want you to sleep I can appreciate you guys as a concern hey why do you have anything in your pockets besides like maybe a wallet or keys anything we need to be aware of like any needles knives and she already asked me out um I think Lieutenant Boyle asked if you had weapons but we just did a pet search this time we're going to do more of a complete search so before we stick your hands in your pockets okay what are what's in your pockets that we need to be aware of before we reach our hands in there okay all right all right well you look like you're cold so yeah I am kind of cold Wyatt stop stop talking let's get you searched and put in my car so you can warm up okay step towards the front of my car you can face the front too thank you a little bit Yeah my face will go really nice right now well no we don't we don't want to do that too yeah you're already doing this man yeah I'd like them all to go to my girlfriend and I'd like to smoke a little bit of a cigarette from her if that's okay with you guys now we're gonna we're gonna get to the hospital yeah we're gonna get there yeah all right all right cool yeah I'm standing here what are you guys waiting for oh yeah there you go you're on the clock oh no you can open that up and throw one in my lip yeah I can do that for it all right policy that's the square behavior that goes on in it it's a square Behavior okay what does that means either thank you yeah we're doing real good so what did I not do right in the field sobriety that'll be in my report if you'd like to request it from records well I'm not gonna explain it all to you right now oh why because I'll race it no because you're in custody and I don't want to discuss what I arrested you for I'd have to read your Miranda Rights to you oh okay you won't read those I have nothing else I want to talk to you about with the case it'll be in the report yeah I have to talk to a Dodger or a D.A yeah out of your jurisdiction I've already talked to them quite a few times but you can't be straight to me and tell me what you're arresting me or not disgusting I've already done this before okay this is not cool if you let me talk I this is me respecting your rights because I don't want to read your Miranda Rights too because I have no nothing else to talk to you about with this case if you want to know what I saw in the standard field sobriety test request the report so it'll all be in there my report will be done tonight before I leave you just fully protect it yeah again right over here thanks Lieutenant absolutely man before you put me in the car up your promise and I'll get hurt I'll put you in the cars put you in the car here really yep before she can talk to you through the window and I can tell you're free oh my God you did a really good job yeah pretty cool I can't wait to sit on these for a while and get them real tight well they're double locked so they shouldn't tighten up if you lean back a Buckley up here okay oh I'm I'm really concerned about Mercedes easy what do you what do you want me to uh tell her what's her name Andrea and Andrea okay we'll put this window down well it's not cool I want her to give me a pop of a cigarette though that's not gonna happen I told you we can't do this so can she get me out tonight uh she could yeah you're just gonna have two misdemeanors foreign sorry to have to ask if you want to if you want to would you like to talk to him before we go because we are arrested him tonight he also has his items that he wants with you so if you want to take them if you want to put your shoes on and talk to them you're more than welcome to before we head out of here okay thank you she's on her way out she'll talk she'll talk to him for a minute yeah yeah it was gun County Sheriff I know that you're losing it um Menomonee PD I Know Who You Are you remember talking to me yeah you don't it shows how much you care about me good night here we are I'm sitting in the back of your car do you know what I do for this community yeah you can close the door yeah there it is then it would come up would you explain to her what it would take to get me out I guess I because honestly sir anytime I ever talk to you I have zero respect for you I've never talked to you before so yeah you've never talked to me before I remember you the driver was placed under arrest for driving under the influence and driving on a revoked driver's license make sure you subscribe
