On July 8th, 2024, just after multiple frantic 911 calls, Southbend police officers rushed to a home on First Street. Inside, chaos had erupted. A family dispute turned violent, leaving officers with no choice but to step in. The main suspect, identified as Marissa Dillos Santos, had allegedly assaulted a family member and refused to comply with officer's commands. What began as a verbal altercation quickly escalated into threats, physical violence, and a volatile standoff. >> What do you want? Can I see your neck? >> I can see your neck. Okay. You're handcuffed. >> Once once your mom comes up here and you get your paperwork, then you'll get uncuffed and you'll go in the car. But the best thing for you to do is just go back to Seattle. >> I'm not going to Seattle. >> Can you uncuff me then? >> Oh, yeah. >> Where's your grandma at? Is she okay if she's mad still? >> She's better, but it's who knows when she'll change. So, we need to grab the necessities and take off. >> Cuz we can't just sit here and babysit all night. We got other stuff we got to do, too. >> You guys can pull into the alleyway from this side in front of our cars and we'll help you guys get her in. They left from the back alley. You okay? >> Yes. >> Sure. >> Okay. So when were they back here in the truck? >> Yes. >> Which way did they go? Do you know for sure on the highway? >> I just go that way, but I don't know where they went. >> Okay. So everything is just for information. I'm going to have at least assault for DV at this time. PC. Nobody's inside the house. Nobody. >> Okay. Was grandma driving? Okay. Right down here. Uh she was assaulted. She can't really tell me exactly what's going on. She's got some scrapes. >> Okay. She's intoxicated as well, too. So, >> okay. Hello. >> I'm with the fire department. Where you hurt at? Can you guys tell me what happened again that you can remember? >> My brother was in my house. >> He just left. >> Okay. get covered. But I got hurt, too. >> You got hurt, too? >> What? What did he do to you? What happened? >> He just wanted to my mom, but I got hurt. >> You got hurt a little bit? Where at? >> Okay. Were you trying to break up the fight or something? And did he grab you or push you or anything? >> Okay. >> So, how how did you get hurt in the process? >> You know, >> did you just fall? >> Yeah. You just fell. Did he shove on you or anything? Was that >> okay? She got hurt in a squabble, too. She's saying her your left, >> your left hand that not that much. >> Okay. Can you go on your fingers? >> Just ask yourself back a little bit. >> Hold that on your side of your face. Wherever it goes. >> Here, let's help you up. Okay. Got it. I'm going to help you up these stairs, okay? I just don't want you falling. What I'm going to do is I'm going to go and help look for him with the other officers, okay? Keep everything locked. Stay inside. If anybody knocks on the door, take a look at who it is. But if it's if it's grandma or him, call 911, okay? And tell us tell an officer to come back to this location, okay? Pedophile. [ __ ] rapist. You think I'm scared of you? [ __ ] rapist. >> [ __ ] pedophile. >> Rapist. Pedophile. >> Uh, so my dad did cuz uh we came back from the river. Were you here earlier? >> Yeah. >> And pedophile. Yeah. He was keep on. He's a [ __ ] pedophile. He's trying to tell me that I'm going to jail when he's a rapist. Pedophile. >> Marissa, I'll come talk to you in a minute. Okay. >> Okay. He's a [ __ ] pedophile. He's a [ __ ] rapist. >> Okay. So, we were just here again. >> You guys left. We left. Then we got called back here again because Raphael beat her up earlier. So, now we >> So, Manuela took him somewhere. I don't know where they are at. Um, so we're looking for them actively, too. Um, what what do you guys So, this is the hard thing for us is that she's staying here right now and she has no way to go somewhere else. >> Does she have anywhere else that she can go around here at all just to alleviate this situation? >> Uh, well, she she does live in Seattle. >> She does live in Seattle. Yeah, but I do remember you said that if he puts a restraining order on her, then he could do something about it. >> Yes, but that would take to go through the courts first. So, he he can't do that right at this very second and put a restraining order. But he can like tomorrow, he could go up to the sheriff's office and petition for a protection order in place if he wants to do that. And then if that petition if that protection order gets granted, then she won't be able to come here or even contact him if that's something that he wants to do. >> Yeah, that's what he wanted to do. Okay, then at this point >> she's like she's every time she comes she's always like this. >> Okay, stop. >> No gunk on me. Take me in. Take me in. I'm telling you to take me in right now. You guys had me come had cups earlier. Take me in. >> You don't even live here. This is not your house. >> I do. This is my house. >> I'm telling you, you have no right. You live in Seattle. >> That's what you think. >> You have no right to say who and who cannot be. >> That's what you think. Okay, take me in. >> Your house is not her house. >> This is Take me in right now. >> This is not your house. Okay, let's let's do an investigation and see whose house it is. >> Okay, >> do it. >> Do you guys >> I want you to take >> Do you guys want her trespassed from the property? >> Do it. >> Yes. >> My property. >> Do you want her trespassed? >> Yeah. Do it. >> Okay. >> This is not your house. You live in >> Whose house is this? Is it under his name? It's not It's not in his nor It's not in his m name. It's under my mom's. I'm not. I swear. I'm sorry. But they're trying to boss me around, trying to tell me what to [ __ ] do. This house isn't is under my [ __ ] mom's name. >> My mom is going to put it under my name. >> Okay. >> Okay. That's the only reason they don't want me here. >> They don't want me here because my mom's going to put it under my [ __ ] name. >> Okay. You need to go to the porch right now. You need to go to the porch. >> You They think they think I'm drunk or something. No, I'm not drunk. >> Okay. Why do you think you guys want to keep me away so much? >> Why do you Why do you house and act like this? Destroy your stuff. >> Get drunk. And >> you can't go to my house because you guys are not allowed. This is my house. Okay. >> No, no, no. Last time I checked, my dad's name. >> No, he No, he was not on his name. It's my mom's name and she's going to put it under my name. >> I'm Okay, I could make money. I could buy a house. >> Okay, then go buy a house then. Okay. Then why you still own this is my house? >> Because this is my house. Mom's going to put it under my name. >> Okay. >> Why do you think you have >> Jose and Manuela Cruz own this house. So he is part owner of this house. So you need to go in the house. >> Barely. Barely. >> You need to go in the house and get your stuff. >> He's going to get you one more opportunity. I'm going to give you one more opportunity to go in the house >> and get your stuff. Otherwise, you're being arrested for trespassing. Now >> I'm telling you. >> Go in the house and [laughter] get your stuff. >> I'm telling you to take me. I want you to take me. No, you're not making sense. >> Go in the house and get your stuff. >> I'm not. >> I'm sorry. I'm not scared of nobody. >> So, just for confirmation, he wants her trespass from the property. Back off. >> I'm not going to hurt nobody. Take me. Take me. Take me. Take me. I'm >> You're going to come up behind me like that. We're not going to play. >> Take me. You think I'ming scared of you? You think I'm scared of you? I'm literally behind a [ __ ] wall. >> We're not going to play your game here. >> Play my [ __ ] game, [ __ ] You can win. I want your badge number and your name. >> Stop pushing up against me. >> Oh, you could you could say whatever the you want and God we trust. Do you believe in God? You believe in God? Who is this? He thinks I'm going to [ __ ] hurt him. I already have my hands up behind me. Tell him to >> Oh, he's part owner of this house. Trespass [ __ ] arrest me wants. >> You think I'm scared of you? >> And now you're arrested for assault, too. >> Get out. >> You're hurting me. Hold on. You're not going to Hold on. Give me a [ __ ] second. You're going to go with a [ __ ] pedophile. >> Are you get to spit on people? >> Okay. And he gets to [ __ ] rape me when I was a child. He gets to rape me when I was a [ __ ] child or what? >> What? >> Stand up. >> Why didn't you arrest him? Ready? 1 2 3. >> Take me. >> I told you to take me. >> We'll go on this side. >> You're going to decide what the weight. >> I'm I'mma get I'm get all your >> Okay, do it. I'm >> Did she get spit on you? >> Yeah. >> Okay. They wanted her trespassed. I gave her multiple opportunities to leave the property. She refused, so she wasn't going to leave. So, she's arrested for trespassing at this point. >> According to police, Marissa resisted commands, yelled at officers, and became combative, forcing them to intervene. As deputies moved in, Marissa was taken into custody after a brief struggle. Meanwhile, Raphael Mendoza Serrano was also identified as a suspect, accused of assaulting a family member, violating a protection order, and even interfering with a 911 call. Officers also cited Manuela Serrano Hernandez for rendering criminal assistance during the incident. The once chaotic home was finally secured, but not before multiple arrests were made and emotions ran high. >> Where'd you take Raphael? >> I told Jacob to Raymond if he was going to go to Man. >> He was hiding over here. >> Yeah. Well, guess what? You're being charged with rendering criminal assistance for taking him leaving the scene after he assaulted Marissa. So, you're being charged for that. >> Okay. >> Okay. You need to tell me where he's at. >> Won and Raymond. >> Where at Raymond? >> Uh, the bus stop. >> The bus stop. Which but which bus stop? >> The one next to the um laundry man. >> Okay. Do you do you not see an issue here whatsoever? Do you not see an issue? You think it's okay for you to take him after you saw what you saw >> and he did what he did? You think it's okay to load him up and take him away and let him leave? >> No, I know. I know that. >> You know better than that. And that's why you're going to be charged. I could take you to jail for that right now. >> Yeah, I know that, too. >> We're dealing with Marissa constantly. Now, again, she's causing more issues. >> Jose is part owner of this house and wanted her trespass because she's doing the same stuff. >> So, she's trespassed from the property. She refused to leave. So now she's under arrest for trespassing. And as I was taking her by, she spit on him. So now she's arrested for assault, too. >> What could have been a what could have been a factor is you not taking him somewhere else to get away from the situation and calling 911 >> and reporting it. >> Yeah, I guess they did call 911. But >> they did. You didn't? >> No, because I had I didn't have no phone. >> No way to call them. So was that was my first >> Okay. So you so you just take him to Raymond and drop him off to get away from the situation. That makes that makes a lot more sense to you obviously, right? >> Well, I know I was I know I was concerned with my daughter, too, but that was the point at that time to take him away from her. >> Okay. So, like I said, I'll get a criminal citation for you. I could take you to jail right now if I wanted to, but I'm not going to do that cuz I'm already dealing with enough of what's going on today. So, I'm not taking you to jail, but you're going to get a criminal site for uh rendering criminal assistance, and you'll have a mandatory court date that you'll have to appear at. So, I'll get that get that to you at some point tonight or tomorrow. Okay. >> That's going to >> No, you're still you're still getting it whether you tell me where he's at or not, cuz I'm not playing this game with you where you protect him, then you want to report him, you protect him. >> Why not protecting nobody? You you left the scene with him and took him away from what was going on. I know you know what took place. >> Mhm. >> You don't get to do that. >> I know that. I know. But I had no choice cuz obviously you don't know that fighting. >> Obviously, you don't know that. >> I was not going to let him keep fighting fighting. >> I I'm done here with you with this. This is the way it's going to go. >> Okay. >> These situations need to be taken care of. >> Okay. >> Mhm. Just letting you know too, I'm sending a CPS referral for your kids at this point as well. >> Thank you. >> Cuz they're not safe. >> Thank you. >> At this point with you. >> Okay. Yeah. >> We want the safety of everybody, but at the same time, you guys need to figure out what's going on and maybe if Raphael and her are the common denominators of issues, maybe not allow them here anymore cuz she's not allowed here anymore because she's trespassed. So, if she shows back up, she will be arrested. So, it needs to be figured out. And also, I'll be sending a referral to CPS for the welfare of her kids because they're not safe being around her. So, that's where we're at. All right. All right. Try to have a better night, man. >> Don't step out. I really do have a heart problem. But if you want me to die on your hands, that's fine. >> He checked you out earlier and said you were totally fine. >> Oh, it's a >> It's a body scanner. Yeah. To see if you have anything on your person. >> Wow, that's so cool. >> Hello. All right. >> All right. Hello, sir. How you doing? >> Pretty good. How are you? Good. >> Okay. Go ahead and just hang out with your buddy for a second. >> Thank you so much. >> All right. >> In the end, Marissa de Los Santos was arrested and charged with fourthderee assault, domestic violence, secondderee trespassing, obstructing a law enforcement officer, and disorderly conduct. Raphael Mendoza Serrano faced two counts of fourthderee domestic violence assault, interfering with the reporting of domestic violence and violating a protection order. And Manuela Serrano Hernandez was cited for rendering criminal assistance. A volatile domestic dispute ended with officers restoring order and a family now facing serious criminal consequences.
