Okay, operation tramline. Um, today we've been carrying out operation tram line on the M4 in Wiltshire. Purpose of our tram line exercise is to detect the fatal five um offenses that are carried out by drivers in the UK. We focus mainly on things like mobile phones, seat belts, um people in attention in vehicles, reading maps, etc. looking, drinking cups of tea, all the things you'd expect to see on a motorway. Um, we use a lorry that's that's um a police lorry unmarked that uh is used for the high observation post so that we can see down into vehicles and catch people doing the things that they would do um that you can't necessarily see from a low-level traffic car. Hi, I'm PC Wilman from the road safety team at Wilshire Police. Uh I've been out on Optramm line today uh as a spotter. So my role is to sit in the passenger seat and observe the vehicles uh from above and into the cabs of other lorries. From here I've got a great view of the whole road um and also down into smaller vehicles but into the cabs of larger vehicles that we wouldn't usually be able to see into. And it's a very successful um operation. We've been running it for many years and uh we will continue to do that to enforce the rules and the on on the roads.
