Deputies responded to multiple 911 calls reporting a violent disturbance at a local gym in Oakland County where a man was allegedly attacking staff members inside the facility. Don't move. >> 911, what's the location of your emergency? I'm at 6 3 I'm at 6433 Orchard Lake Road. I need police here right now. There's a man attacking us. Okay, what is he doing? >> to leave. He's pun- he's punching me. He's punching other uh staff members. I'm at the Planet Fitness on Orchard Lake Road. Okay. He's walking to the parking lot right now. I'm watching him. According to reports, the suspect, later identified as Wesley Keywon Joe, had gotten into an argument with gym employees before suddenly turning violent. Orchard Lake Road, 6433 Orchard Lake at Planet Fitness, section 2603. RP states there is an Asian male that's punching staff. No, stop. OPEN THE DOOR. STOP. RADIO, HE JUST TRIED TO RUN ME OVER. HE'S TAKING off in a Lexus. Um out of the parking lot, southbound. Southbound. Copy, southbound in the parking lot taking off. Orchard Lake Road clearance. Hey, firm. As patrol units pulled into the parking lot, officers immediately spotted the suspect moving quickly toward a vehicle. Commands were given for him to stop and show his hands, but he ignored every order. As one officer moved closer, the suspect suddenly accelerated, allegedly attempting to run him over before speeding out of the lot. That moment instantly transformed the call into a high-risk pursuit. He just ran into my car, radio. My car radio. Radio, he's taking off now on Orchard Lake Road. He's going 30 mph. Sirens filled the area as officers chased the suspect through nearby streets, but he showed no intention of stopping. During the pursuit, he crashed into multiple police vehicles, at times appearing to deliberately ram them in an effort to escape. Box him in. Hands up. Open the window. TURN YOUR VEHICLE OFF NOW. Radio from 47. I'm good. I'm good, firm. The chase finally came to an end after the suspect's vehicle was disabled following multiple collisions, but even then, the situation was far from over. Officers surrounded the car and issued repeated commands for him to exit, but he refused to comply, forcing deputies to escalate their response. Tasers were deployed as officers worked to gain control, but the suspect continued resisting before eventually being pulled from the vehicle and taken into custody after a brief but intense struggle. At least one officer was reported injured during the incident. No, don't let me go. He's going to jail now. Yeah. They saw They saw him in the car running me over. So. Following his arrest, Wesley Keywon John now faces a long list of serious charges, including assault with intent to do great bodily harm, fleeing and eluding police, assault with a dangerous weapon, resisting and obstructing officers, assault and battery, and destruction of police property. His bond was set at $500,000. What started as a simple dispute inside a gym quickly spiraled into a violent confrontation and a dangerous police chase, a situation that could have easily turned deadly in a matter of seconds.
