Officer Trujillo sticks around. >> No, I'm in a public space. I'll stay here. I'll stay here. >> You're going on to the truck anyway. >> No, I'm I'm good. I'm on a public easement. There's no sidewalk. It's a public easement. >> You You're doing good. Just, you know, shimmy. >> And Officer Trujillo uses his cruiser as a shield. >> You're good, bro. You're good. If if between me and you, you tell me that you'll spank him good, we'll just leave it at that. Just give him a little swat on the bum. Tell him bad boy. All right. Thank you, brother. >> You have a good >> You, too. Kudos to James Freeman for his determination, wit, and sense of humor. In the battle against state tyranny, Freeman is an absolute gem. His videos remind us that in America, we're supposed to have certain unalienable constitutional rights. This includes free speech. The courts have [snorts] long held that citizens can insult, mock, and taunt law enforcement officers. It even tell cops to go f themselves. It is all protected speech. And if a police officer's feelings get hurt, too bad. Relatedly, the courts have held that all citizens can record a police officer or other government official in public. This includes recording conversations with police when they have detained you. And if you are a third party recording a police interaction with someone else, the only restriction in some states is that you stay at least 6 feet away. Now, to be clear, police are free to ask anybody for an ID. However, unless police have reasonable, articulable suspicion that you have committed a crime or broken a law, citizens are under no obligation to provide ID. And again, if an officer's feelings get hurt, so be it. The police are law enforcement officers, not feelings enforcement officers. Although too many police don't understand that until they get confronted by an educated citizen like James Freeman. By the way, in Oklahoma, police and sheriff's deputies are now turning on each other. You can get the out of my face. I don't give a who you are >> in Oklahoma. That is a Cleveland County sheriff's deputy insulting a local Lexington police officer. >> This is my county, too. >> Back up, man. Back up. >> You don't ass. >> You need to stop. >> Chill out. Back up. Everything's going to be okay, but you need to back up. >> Negative. This right here. We're not going to be distracted. >> In the white hat, that is the Cleveland County Sheriff. >> Sheriff, you need to back up out of my face, sir. >> You have no >> You're not going to tell me what to do, mother. >> You're not going to get my sheriff's face. >> Just like you told me. >> Mother your hands off me, man. >> Pull him. Pull him back. >> Check out that video at the link below. It generated a lot of comments on YouTube. One of the most popular was from Daddy AF945 who wrote, "If they're this disgusting to each other, how do you think they are rolling up on a kid walking down the street?" Indeed. And that's why a lot of people refer to police as the most dangerous gang in America. I look forward to reading your comments about the remarkable and amusing push back by James Freeman. I'm David Schuster. Thanks for joining us.
