A man enters Target, then immediately heads to the electronics section where he tells the Target employee he wants to purchase a new iPad. So, they go to the back to grab one while the man patiently waits. The Target employee returns with the new unpurchased iPad and for a moment they look at it together before the shoplifter abruptly snatches it and makes a run for it while the worker holds on for dear life and then the suspect hits a spin move breaks free and then sprints towards the store entrance. Finally, he reaches the parking lot and then randomly chooses a direction to flee. Unlucky for him, an officer actually happens to be in the parking lot and immediately chases him as he runs towards other nearby businesses hot on his trail with his taser deployed. He gets a clear shot, aims, and then fires, but can't tell if he hit the shoplifter. He faced two charges, felony grand theft and misdemeanor resisting an officer without violence. Surprisingly, the felony theft charge was actually dropped by prosecutors. However, the resisting charge was transferred to another court because he did this in a Target outside of his home county. And for that resisting charge, it remains pending.
