All right. >> 43-year-old Robert faced two felony counts, aggravated assault committed with a deadly weapon including a firearm which has an ordinary sentencing range from 1 to 20 years in prison. His second count under Georgia statute 16-11-106, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony. This is a separate felony offense when a firearm is possessed during certain underlying felonies including crimes against another person. This specific statute provides for a 5-year sentence which runs consecutively to other underlying felony sentences. In court, the 43-year-old man would go on to enter a negotiated plea to both charges. And if you're wondering if the man spent any time behind bars, on count one, aggravated assault, the judge would go on to impose the maximum 20-year sentence with the first 8 years to be served in state prison. And when he gets out in 8 years, the remaining 12 years will be served on probation. Count two, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, the judge imposed an additional 5 years of probation ordered consecutively to count one, aggravated assault. In total, the man was given a 25-year sentence with the first 8 years to be served in state prison followed by 17 years on probation. Let me know your honest thoughts on this case down below in the comments section. Stay safe out there and I'll see you in the next video. >> I tried filing my taxes last year.
