At 4:00 in the morning, a random man repeatedly kicks on a homeowner's door until it eventually falls off the hinges. He then proceeds to enter the house and for around 10 minutes argues with the homeowner who he doesn't know. The homeowner quickly calls 911 and police arrive, but within the first few seconds realize that this isn't their ordinary suspect. >> What's going on, man? >> What's the problem? >> I'm looking for somebody. And as a result of his actions, which he was clearly in the wrong, he was convicted guilty on all three charges. And if you're wondering if he spent any time in jail, prison, or probation, well, as a result, he was sentenced to 5 years, 5 [music] months, and 17 days inside of Florida State Prison. Now, to some this may seem like a harsh sentence, and to others, it may seem like it's too little. And although 5 1/2 years is slightly on the longer side for some of the sentences we see, it's important to note that this 42year-old man had 11 prior felonies in this county alone. That coupled with burglary or home invasion type charges where you're kicking in an occupied homeowner's door is treated in Florida as a much more serious crime. Plus, when you're verbally threatening officers and also resisting, this doesn't look good either when the prosecutor is examining the court [music] case.
