He was ultimately able to resolve the court case through a negotiated plea and was adjudicated guilty on felony trafficking in marijuana. As shown in the body camera footage, officers would go on to find bag after bag after bag until they recovered slightly more than 200 lb of marijuana. Now, it's important to note that under Georgia law possession of just more than 10 lb is enough to constitute marijuana trafficking, meaning that the amount recovered in this case was more than 20 times the minimum trafficking threshold. Under Georgia law, this same bracket is 10 lb but less than 2,000 lb, which is a pretty large threshold in my opinion. And this classification carries a mandatory minimum sentence of 5 years in prison. And this is exactly what the court imposed, a 5-year felony confinement sentence. Georgia law also prescribes a $100,000 fine for marijuana trafficking within this weight range. However, on this driver's sentencing information, he was able to get this $100,000 fine absolved as probably part of his negotiated plea agreement. With the driver being in possession of more than 200 lb of marijuana, this large amount has a rough street value of $800,000 through 1.2 million dollars. As always, let me know your honest thoughts on this case down below in the comment section. Stay safe out there, and I'll see you [music] in the next video. >> Marijuana? >> No. >> No marijuana? >> No, no, no. >> Can I Can I search? >> No. >> Can I search the back here? Kilo 5, sir. >> All right. >> Go by the driver's side. Can I You got a translator? >> Yeah. >> Lock him up. >> Hey, that's weed. >> That's why you're back. >> it. >> 13.
