It's a warm Florida Saturday at a local pool and bar area. Now, pay attention to the four guys in the top right hand corner of the business's surveillance because this group of friends who may or may not have had one too many drinks are about to do something stupid. Well, at least one of them is just feet in front of them. They're eyeing a police cruiser and probably making jokes about it. That is until one man decides that jokes aren't enough, and it's finally time to take a police vehicle for a spin. So, he walks up to it, opens the door, gets inside, and then just moments later drives off. Ironically, that exact second, another officer sees him, gets on the radio, and details his exact description to all officers in the nearby area, including the police officer whose vehicle he just stole. Now, this all happened at 6:20. [music] And just three minutes later, the officer whose car the man took tracks down his vehicle and with the description fresh in his head, he sees a man matching the suspect's description, parks his car and then goes [music] to confront him. >> Get over here. Once this case closes, I'll provide all of the charges that stuck and his actual sentencing and jail time down below in the pin comment. However, for the two taser defendants, their cases are both closed. And starting with the man who fled officers when he was pulled over for driving without a license plate. And his two more serious charges, driving while license is suspended or revoked, which is a secondderee misdemeanor. He was adjudicated guilty as well as adjudicated guilty on resisting an officer without violence, which is a first-degree misdemeanor. In some, he was ordered to pay $653 in court costs and fines, and was given 6 months of probation for resisting without violence. For the man that advanced on police with a knife in hand, he was given two charges of aggravated assault, one aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer and one aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. He was also given resisting with and without violence. Resisting without violence was dropped. Aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer was also dropped. Aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Prosecutors took no action. And the only charge the man was convicted of was resisting an officer with violence. He was adjudicated guilty and the judge imposed 3 years or 36 months [music] of probation. He also paid $644 in court costs, and under his probation, conditions included anger management classes, a psychological evaluation, no weapons, no alcohol, or illegal drugs.
