to pull in here okay and another gentleman actually gave part of the to be able to move for sure a guy who was parked near the scene said here's a place just to get the right P was ahe run so we Happ to catch them pulling in here they if they went down the side street they would have been gone she had a passenger offer me money cuz he wanted and he took off down back that way he left the so so what happened you were at the Right Aid light going which way we were coming down this way okay not sure what street we're up but we were making a left they were stopped we're coming and then around 1:39 p.m. on March 1st 2024 officers with the Ramy Police Department initially responded to the scene of a motor vehicle crash involving a 2005 Hyundai Elantra and 2019 Toyota Corolla in front 988 e Clemens Bridge Road since they realize that the location of the crash was in barington officers with the barington police department were called to the parking lot of the Dollar General corporal crystal yanovski with the barington police department arrived on scene at the Dollar General around 1:55 p.m. and made contact with both the driver of the Toyota as well as the driver of the Hyundai the driver of the Hyundai would later be identified as Alysa trying all right so you were on Gloucester then left the light and then that first left caner I don't know the name Ro yeah where they the first left after the light where they were stopped and as we're making our turn Su okay so you were trying to make that first left onto sh that's sh uh the smaller Street yeah okay so you were trying were you in the process of turning yes okay and then was that car at the stop sign then yes okay so were they going they were making a left they accelerated into us had to back so we got caught mid turn and we tried to point them into the lot that's right there right at the corner and they gotcha okay so your damage is perfect were you driving yeah uh you have your license in yeah perfect and the insurance information please Hi how are you right good what's going on so what my side is is I do have somebody that run they do have a warrant and they turned restart I'm sorry I there I have a witness to what actually happened to and they turned like I was already in the process of making the left when I turned onto the street and they turned hard into me that I have somebody that run so I am only by myself right now that's all I can give you but I do have everything that actually I give it to the first officer so I do have my insurance I have everything and I did stop because I knew I had to but that person did have to run and I'm not going to lie like which person ran you say someone was in your car yeah that's what they said too so I'm pretty sure like I'm not going to lie about it so okay so someone was in your car you hit this car and they told you to leave and you drove it was like uh a joint accident because they I was already turning when they when this happened so when the accident happened your pass they pulled over to like come down the lane for FedEx and I was already turning when they did that okay and the tin down there over so the person in your passenger seat said leave and you did truthfully yes okay but I soft here because I know I have to and I'm not going to keep running cuz I'm not where's the the person that was in your P SE where do they live at I don't even know honestly you don't know yeah I really you don't know their name I do know their name but I like that's something that I like I just kind of went to the ski in accident right now like I'm not going to blame them I'm not going to blame anybody this this is actually what happened in the accident is that they were they were turning too hard on me and it'll end uping okay well what happens is I take your side of story I take their side of story I put it on I understand but I'm trying to tell you the truth also at the same time so they they left they left me here to deal this by myself so I stopped here because I'm not going to keep running and or doing things stupid okay like but the person in your pass and your seat I need to make sure they're okay I don't know where they went and I don't even know act like they're somewhere like I actually just met them again I don't even feel comfortable giving you their phone number because they do have a warrant that's why is not that big of a deal it's not cuz it's in another place but I'm just telling you that like I don't have any problems and I'm not going to keep I'm not going to take somebody other's [ __ ] for me I like if that actually makes sense no okay it doesn't no what do you mean take someone else if he's sitting here and he has a warrant and then he gets arrested he didn't want to take my he didn't want to have a was he driving or were you driving no I was driving I been constantly driving but like because of the you don't want to give me their name to make sure they're okay no is that really a problem street she was coming out Tre making all clammed into them and took off right okay someone followed with them and she pulled in here so that's how they found her okay she's saying she had a passenger with her and he was like I have a warm like one so that's what she did um after talking with her I smell alcohol on her so I just want to make sure that uh her eyes are a little glassy but she's talking fine and I just want to make sure I don't first time do so okay so you're putting through fields in yeah I think so I think if you want to talk to her real fast and see if you can smell it and maybe what's her name just confirm I just wrote down her de okay I'll get for you no it's okay based on their investigation it would later be determined that the driver of the Toyota was struck by the driver of the Hyundai as he attempted to turn left onto sh Avenue after driving Southbound on Clement's Bridge Road he claimed that the driver of the other vehicle failed to stop at the stop sign as she struck his vehicle while attempting to turn left the driver of the Toyota told Corporal yanovski that alysa's passenger fled the scene because he was wanted and Alyssa refused to provide the officers with the fugitive's name as Corporal yanovski was speaking with Alysa she detected the odor of alcohol and asked Alys if she had anything to drink Alysa initially denied consuming alcohol but she would later admit to consuming wine earlier that day Sergeant David Hunt later arrived on scene to assist hello Miss how are you hello I'm good what's your name Alysa Alysa Alysa Briel Alysa Briel where are you from I'm from Pine Hill Pine Hill mhm okay all right so my name is Sergeant h can you explain to me what happened today like why are we here um so I was driving down on this road and we were at a a turn it's the one that goes behind the back of the fedexes mhm I'm not sure when that it is but the they made a they jerked from the Middle Lane to to turn and I was already in the middle of where I was already going to make a left okay and our cars hit each other I had somebody in my car that has warrants so I pulled down here I stopped they ran I'm still here okay that's basically all that I can really tell you right now okay so I'm I'm not worried about the person that ran from your car about a warant or any of that stuff my first concern that is that everybody's okay yeah the accident itself yeah okay I do respect that too I appreciate that from you but all right like they did not want any parts of this and it look when it comes to there being somebody else in the car and running from it after the accident dri I get it too you're responsible for the vehicle at all times as a driver are you the registered owner of the car yes I am and I do have everything but like I said like I don't have a dash cam and I don't think they did either but they made a short like they we like they I I'm not worried about the crash we're good okay it it it's a crash it happens all the time okay that's why we have insurance you have insurance right absolutely I wouldn't drive without it okay then insurance companies are going to take care of it and okay that's the end of it I mean it's we'll do the report that we need to do you'll get a copy of it and submit it to your insurance company that's all and the insurance companies they have adjusters and they have claims adjusters what they're going to do is that person's insurance company your insurance company they're going to have a phone conference happen to and they'll go back and forth and New Jersey is a new fault state so they're going to sit there and they're going to bicker back and forth as to percentages of fault based on your statements to them based on their statements to them and based on what the police report says and then they'll come to an agreement saying well my client's this percentage of fault my client's this percentage is Fault nobody's ever 100% unfortunately New Jersey is just weird that way like Bas on money in a lot of cars and other stuff so it's it's not that big of a deal M all right but what I do need to ask you is um do you have any medical issues or anything like that no I don't now you're not hurt in any way no no okay um do you have any ailments with your legs balancing issues anything with your ears or any of that type of stuff no I'm like a little stressed out but I'm okay that's completely understandable you can just the reason I'm asking you those questions is because I smell a little bit of alcohol alcoholic beverage coming from your breath have you had exercises the first exercise was the horizontal gaze nagus hgn test during the hgn test corbo yanovski observed the lack of smooth Pursuit distinct and sustain nystagmus at maximum deviation and the onset of nystagmus prior to 45° the second exercise was the walk and turn test during the walk and turn test Alyssa failed to touch Heel To Toe on each step and turn improperly the final exercise was the one leg stand test and Alyssa failed to raise her foot in the proper fashion and initially failed to count aloud before she was reminded to do so guys something no aniy like okay so you see the alcohol content is at four 4 and a half yeah five okay base on the motor vehicle accident the odor of alcohol her admission to consuming alcohol before driving and her inability to adequately complete the field sobriety exercises corbo yanovski placed Alysa under arrest for driving Under the Influence her vehicle was impounded for a mandatory 12-hour hold under John's law Corporal yanovski transported her to the Hillsboro Township Police Department for further processing so considering everything in the test that you were put through um you're going to take a ride with us you're going to be placed under arrest okay for suspicion of DUI all right we'll go back to the station we'll run another test for you okay all right so right now you're going to be placed under arrest okay just put your hands behind your back my car that we're going to secure it and um there needs to be uh what's called a DUI hold on it okay is it to be impounded can I call somebody no we we have to impound it so this is what I can tell you though okay if after if after this other test you put you through okay all right there's the possibility that you can go get your car afterwards possibility okay but there's also the possibility it has to stay in impound for 12 hours those are the two options I can't give you an answer until we put you through that last test all right okay so we're going to come testing her Alco test results indicated a back of 0.16% which was double the legal limit of 0.08% after the officers were finished with their paperwork Alyssa eventually released to a sober adult after they signed the potential Sherl warning form on alysa's behalf she was issued the following summonses operating under the influence failure to report accident and leaving the scene of an accident court records indicate that Alysa had previously been arrested for DW in Haden Heights NJ on July 15 2023 she was later arrested again for dwa Magnolia NJ on March 7th 2024 just hop on out for me and then you just go right where that officers is okay straight through the door to the left what you car I to the left I'll take these CS off thank you sit I'm going to take the cups off okay all right perfect and then you'll have a seat all right so I just have to do a little 20 minute observation on you and then we'll get that last test going all right see un okay okay on this right here
