Or did he just barely clip it? I guess we'll have to look at the car. I mean, a lot of damage. So, it looks like he hit it head on. Yeah. You ain't killing me tonight. You ain't killing me. No. No. No. On April 18th, 2024 in Canton, Ohio. Officers responded to a crash after a vehicle struck a utility pole and reportedly left the scene. As officers examine the damage and try to figure out who was behind the wheel, their investigation soon leads them to another location where they believe the driver may be right here. Yeah, they kind of go back in. But where was this pole? Dude, he was cruising to snap it like that. Oh, yeah. Oh, right there it was. Huh? Right there. So, he popped up. I know. There's nothing until you smash that. or did he just barely clip it? I guess we'll have to look at the car. So, I still have to look at the damage on the car and everything that he see. I didn't even I was going to start to like peek through his car a little bit cuz Sergeant R starts to just look at it without messing it up. His car is like a hoarder car. It's filled to the brim with When I first walked by, that's what I saw saw. He had he had uh that's Did you see me pick that the little baggie of white powder up? No. Yeah. Yeah. My knee is knee's messed up. I mean, a lot of damage. So, it looks like he hit it head on. Yeah. That's probably something to swung up and hit it. That was That's not from the inside. That's You know what that is? That's a pole. The pole fell down. You know what? There's a There's some wood in there. By this point, officers are still at the crash scene trying to understand exactly what happened. They look over the damage, check the area around the vehicle, and discuss where the driver could have gone. To me, this still looks like a pretty standard crash investigation until officers receive information that Tyson may be at another location. Stand right there. Please. No. You ain't killing me tonight. You ain't killing me. No. No. You got to kill me. Kill me. They got kill me. They're trying to kill me. They trying to kill me. The army sheriff the sheriff on the Come on. They're going to kill me. They might kill me. You're going to get sprayed. You're going to get sprayed. Don't Don't spray. Call the spray. Call the sheriff. They might kill me. Call the sheriff. Call the gun. Here it goes. As officers continue at the Amvets building, they locate Tyson and immediately have trouble getting him to cooperate. He's extremely agitated, repeatedly telling officers to call the sheriff while resisting their attempts to control him. Once officers get him to the floor and place him in handcuffs, Tyson starts repeatedly saying he can't breathe. In my opinion, that's the [music] moment this encounter becomes much more serious. You never put that over the radio. Huh? They never put that over the radio. What? I called out anything about it. Awesome. Now I know that. Can you calm down? Yeah. I don't He might be out to 83 over this bag. angry. Did you have a pulse? I didn't feel medics to step it up. Feels not responsive. I don't know if I can feel Yeah, handsome. I think that's possible again. Where you at, B? Keep going. Okay, let us know when when you need it. By now, Tyson has stopped responding and officers realize something is seriously wrong. They check for a pulse and begin CPR while calling for M's to hurry to the location. Whatever was happening during the struggle has now turned into a medical emergency. This is still not coming too inside. Yeah, we're doing CPR right now on him. There's 46 coming out here. That's the 46. As far as I can tell right now, so you're fighting. Mhm. They just dropped as you we tripped him on the ground. He was still yelling. Swept his legs underneath. We picked him up, laid him on the ground and then face or face down or face up. Yeah. He went he was sideways and we got him on his stomach. You have any idea on him like age? Yeah. Yeah. You have a driver's license? I think it's this is going to be him. 14. Good. Okay. All right. As officers continue working around Tyson, they talk among themselves about how strong he had been just moments earlier and how quickly his condition changed. Meanwhile, M arrives and takes over the medical response, eventually transporting Tyson to the hospital. To me, the contrast is hard to miss. The same man officers were struggling to control minutes earlier is now being rushed away for emergency treatment. When I pulled on something, he was Yeah, he was not He was not bending at all. Did he have Did he have Was he holding on to the counter? Cuz I swept one leg. He wasn't going. Then I got both and he was still I had him pinned up against the counter because I decided to uh I'll talk to you all about locker room. Well, you know, I had a weird I had a weird feeling about this call. That's why I came to it. Well, yeah. I was Everyone was talking about some like crazy calls that they had at the hall. When they said when the when the caller said that they were trying to keep her there, that's when I turned around to come. black male red walking north on Valley 11. So, we got we're we're calling the crash team right now. So, for what for what it's worth, get as much information as you guys can get so in case it does in case the crash team doesn't come in. But most likely, even though he may have been having a heart attack and that's why all this happened, I mean, we don't know. Mhm. Um, so I'll go get start. So just but what yeah, whatever you do, just get as many photos as you can and then just don't touch anything cuz they're going to measure everything. So if you just want to see what you can get, I wouldn't touch too much in the car, but see what any information you can get out of the car. Um, and then just keep the road blocked off. Sweet. Okay. Yep. Frank Tyson, 53, died after being taken into Canton police custody. Two former Canton officers were originally charged with reckless homicide. So, what do you think? Once Tyson was restrained and repeatedly saying he couldn't breathe, did officers recognize the seriousness of his condition quickly enough? Let me know in the comments. And for more real body cam breakdowns, subscribe to Code 3AM and stay tuned for the next case.
