guys coming from Albertson which one the one up in oh Enchanted Hill around 120 for am on February 17th 2023 officer Jonathan Hickerson of the Rio Rancho Police Department was on patrol on uner Boulevard Northbound when his radar captured a 2013 Honda Civic that was driving southbound at a speed of 604 mph in a 45 mph Zone he made a uturn and began to follow the vehicle and he observed the vehicle almost strike the center median the officer initiated a traffic stop well before 17th a but the vehicle did not stop until approaching Cherry Road once the vehicle was stopped officer Hickerson approached the vehicle and made contact with the driver and the other three occupants of the vehicle on the passenger side the driver was identified as 20-year-old tally of aent Okay Okay the reason I pulled you over man you were going way too fast okay you're were going 64 okay do you have your Li and regitration insurance where you guys headed to we're just on the way to uh to's pull over on the side of the road like this so she turn the on cuz I thought I thought she was going to pull in 17 yeah and then yeah 17 and then she almost that divider right there and I was like oh crap thought like I guess we're going to Cherry oh she get here at least we can keep on that way you s right you right yeah I just hate doing it when like I'm on to stop like that one time I turned my cruise on and they took off cuz they're like oh your light's were on they are they're just not flashing FL oh my front lights they turn they basically turn off the when I put on my uh he so headed north they were coming south right at that the first housing B down here just after PB 64 and 45 um I waited till the entrance to the church to pull to hit my lights just so we wouldn't be in this situation right um didn't pull over there looked like she turned her signal on at 17th there's like that weird little median in the roadway almost smoked it and that's what I was like well I guess I stop at the Cherry now and then she just stopped right here so I did a passenger side approach passenger seems pretty drunk so they were coming from the Enchanted Hills Alberton going home her 27 says she lives in San fipe okay um Petra saw the two bottles at her feet and he was the one that smelled alcohol from there I didn't smell anything on my side just because I made that Pro what's her name um so there's four people in the car okay there a dog back there no just let you know got be good as he was speaking with the driver officer Hickerson detected the odor of alcohol officer Justin Petrus was able to approach the vehicle from the driver's side and he observed to open bottles of alcohol one of the bottles was 100 W knobs while the other bottle was smof vodka based on his suspicion of impairment officer Hickerson called for a DWI officer to come on scene and assist with the traffic stop officer Jessica Martinez arrived on scene shortly afterwards upon arrival officer Martinez asked Talia to exit the vehicle and asked her how much she had to drink Talia responded by saying not that much since she was disp indicators of impairment Talia was offered an opportunity to perform field sobriety exercises hi Talia hi Serge marz I'm with the DWI unit uh there was some concern about your driving and just overall General concerns about maybe continuing alcohol while you're driving would you mind stepping out of the vehicle and talking to you we're going to go right around your veh open to the truck you have anything on you any weapons of any kind no do any passengers have weapons no all right go ahead and on the sidewalk keep your hands out your pockets until I can cut you down and then we'll go from there okay the sidewalk right there keep going to the sidewalk hgn test during the hgn test officer Martinez observed a lack of smooth Pursuit distinct and sustained nice status at maximum deviation and the onset of nice stmas prior to 45° the second field sobriety exercise was the walk and turn test during this exercise Talia held her arms in front of her instead of at her side displayed a lack of balance and failed to walk Heel To Toe the third field sobriety exercise was the one leg stand test and Talia did not raise her foot in the proper fashion put her foot down multiple times and failed to count out loud the force four exercise was the recitation of the alphabet from C to R and Talia failed to recite the alphabet in the correct sequence the final exercise involved counting backwards from 72 to 51 and Talia failed to count in the To Toe steps one two three it's important that you look down at your feet count your steps out loud leave your hands down to your side and once you start the test you do not stop do you understand 0.16% and 0.14% which were well over the legal limit of 0.02% for motorists under the age of 21 after Talia was processed at the Rio Rancho Police Department she was transported by another officer to the San OVO County Detention Center and booked for DWI officer Martinez issued tally of the following summonses driving while under the influence of intoxicating liquor or drugs open container and
