Hey, drop the gun. Stop. >> Don't come near me. One at gunpoint. He's not stopping. Don't come near me. Stop. Stop. Alex, stop. Man, don't make >> What's going on today? Tell me. Do not point that gun anywhere. >> My father was killed with this very weapon right here. >> I don't want that weapon to kill anyone else. These are the moments when minors pulled weapons on cops. Starting with the case of a 15-year-old who shot and badly injured an officer, almost taking her life. >> Help me. >> Where's the radio? >> Where are we? Officer shot. Help. >> On November 6th, 2017, a rookie police officer came dangerously close to losing her life when a 15-year-old opened fire on her. The incident began when officer Angelina Bakini tried to arrest the teenager after he was reported as a runaway by his aunt. While patrolling the Mount Herman neighborhood, she recognized Patterson riding a stolen bicycle. But as she attempted to make the arrest, things quickly turned deadly as the teen took a horrifying step. [Applause] >> Oh no. Stand right here. >> 221. >> I'm sorry. What's your location? >> Phillips and Hickory. Come on. You got to stand up. What did I do? >> Come on, turn around. >> What? >> Look, turn around. >> Officer shot. Officer shot. Officer shot. >> Help me. >> Where's your radio? >> Help me. >> Where's your radio? >> Where are we? Officer shot. Help. >> Hey, you got an officer down 2500 block of Hickory Hickory Street. Female officer down 2500 block of Hickory Street. >> That incident was very quick and unexpected. No one would have thought a 15-year-old was about to shoot a cop and try to take her life. But things did not end there. There were more shocking things about to unfold. As officer Bakini was securing Patterson, he suddenly pulled a concealed handgun from his waistband. And without hesitation, he opened fire at the officer. In just seconds, Patterson fired six rounds at her. Four bullets struck her body, making her gravely wounded and slowly losing her life. >> Where'd he go? >> Take your hair first. >> I don't know where he took off. >> Where are you shot? Stay with me. Stay with me. Where are you shot? >> Arms and leg. >> I got you, baby. I got you. Stay with me. Okay. Watch my back, man. >> I got you. >> Watch my back. >> I got her. 423 scene secure. Get a medic. Shot twice. >> He took off. >> Okay. Eastbound towards the >> Okay. [Applause] Yeah. Uh, senior citizen. [Music] >> Officer Bakini's health started to deteriorate rapidly, but luckily there was a retired cop nearby who rushed in like an angel to help her. Within moments, additional officers arrived at the scene and provided emergency aid. Paramedics quickly transported her to the hospital where she was admitted in critical condition. On the other side, the teen was still on the run, armed with a deadly weapon, and no one knew who he would target next. Officers began searching the area for the teen, but came up empty until they noticed something. >> Stand by. >> Get on the ground. Do not move. Do not move. Stop. I got him down. Slow down. I got him. I got him. Got him. >> You don't move. Where's the gun? >> Where's the gun? >> The teen, later identified as 15-year-old Will Patterson, was arrested without any further incident and transported to a juvenile detention facility. Meanwhile, Officer Bakini underwent multiple surgeries and against all odds survived. But her life would never be the same. The injuries she suffered were catastrophic, leaving her with a permanent disability in her leg and ending her dream of serving as a police officer. She was just 22 years old at the time of the incident. On the other side, in 2018, Patterson was convicted of multiple felonies, including the attempted aggravated murder of a law enforcement officer. But in 2020, that conviction was overturned after a court ruled him incompetent to stand trial, delaying justice for years. Finally, after lengthy proceedings, Patterson was retrieded in September 2022 and found guilty of the violent crimes, including the attempted murder of Officer Bakini. In April 2023, at just 20 years old, he was sentenced to an 88-year effective prison term. Next, you're about to see how a troubled teen in a mental health crisis turned an entire neighborhood upside down with a gun. >> Okay, can you drop it for me? >> I can tell you my story right here. My father was killed with this very weapon right here. On the morning of August 18th, 2024, a shocking incident unfolded in the Summit Cove area near Keystone, Colorado, when a juvenile armed with a gun carried out a tragic act. But before going into the details of what happened, let's listen to the chilling 911 call first. >> 911. What's the address of the emergency? >> There's a man at my door. Uh, he has a gun. >> Open the door and check out a gun and he said, >> we got officers on the way. You say he has a black. >> He's right in front of the drive. All right. Right in front of our driveway. >> He's got a gun. >> He's got a gun. And he he's holding it. >> How is he holding it, ma'am? >> He's holding it like he's going to shoot it. He's holding it in his hand driveway. >> About how old did you say he was? >> He either looks late 20s, early 30s. He looks very young. >> This was actually very terrifying to encounter. And this was not only one caller who reported it. Multiple people from the neighborhood called 911 and asked for help. Shockingly, the entire neighborhood knew that kid because he lived in the same area. Responding to all those calls, officers arrived quickly at the location, but they were not ready to witness what was going to unfold next. >> Do not pick up that gun. [Applause] >> Don't do it, buddy. Don't do it. >> Don't do it. >> Drop the gun. >> Drop it. >> Drop it. Drop the [ __ ] >> Drop it. >> There's no ammo. >> Drop it. >> There's no ammo. >> Drop the gun. >> Drop gun. Drop the gun. >> Drop the gun. >> Drop it, bud. Please don't make me shoot you. Do not make me shoot you. Drop the gun. >> Upon arrival, officers located the teen, but he was not ready to comply. The 18-year-old, later identified as Charlie Foster, was in a complete emotional breakdown and could harm himself or others at any moment. After multiple requests, he still refused to comply. And it looked like he was not ready to calm down until a tragedy happened. >> Hey, I'm asking. >> What's going on today? Tell me. Do not point that gun anywhere. >> There is no ammo. >> Okay. Can you drop it for me? >> I can tell you my story right here. Okay. >> What's your story? My father was killed with this very weapon right here. >> Okay. I don't want that weapon to kill anyone else. >> We can't tell that from here. >> Hey, talk to me, bud. Talk to me. How can I help you? How can I get you to put the gun down? >> By listening to me. Okay, go ahead and talk. >> Talk to me, bud. >> You said you wanted to talk. I want to listen. >> No, I don't want to shoot you. >> I don't want to shoot you, bud. >> He's lifting up the gun. >> We have shots fired. Two officers. Suspect is currently down. >> That was a very unfortunate incident. As Foster pointed a handgun at the responding officers, they discharged their weapons. The officers tried their best to help Foster, but in the end, it did not work out. And what details came out next were truly sad. Officers quickly rushed him for emergency medical treatment, but despite their efforts, Foster did not survive. Later, it was discovered that the gun was not real. It was just a BB gun. He had just graduated from Summit High School a few weeks before the incident. To those close to him, he was a very loving and caring person. No criminal charges have been filed against the deputies. Next up, you will see how a 12-year-old and a 13-year-old kid faced cops after stealing a car at gunpoint. >> On your stomach. >> On your stomach. >> Do not move. >> On February 13th, 2024, a very shocking series of events unfolded in Seattle when a woman reported that two kids had stolen her car at gunpoint and even fired a shot to scare her. Officers were immediately dispatched and shortly afterward, they located the stolen car and initiated a pursuit. However, the kids completely refused to comply and started to take some dangerous steps. >> All right, got it lit up. >> Approaching Noai Aurora about 75th Aurora still southbound 75 mph. [Music] Yeah, if that front wheel's disabled, be ready for it. [Music] >> Get out of the car. All right. Hands, hands, hands. He's going to go. >> Both kids had weapons in their hands as they fled the scene. And here's the more shocking part. On that same night, these two didn't just try to rob one person. Roughly an hour after the first carjacking, they attempted to carjack another vehicle and even fired a weapon. But luckily, the managed to escape and the attempt failed. However, at this point, both kids were still on the run with deadly weapons in their hands, and no one knew how the situation was going to end. [Applause] I got right. Drop the gun. God, please. Stop. Let me see your ass. Get on the ground now. Get on the ground. Get on the ground here. Take him. Get on the ground. Get on the ground. Get on the ground now. Get on the ground. >> Stay down. Your hands up. >> On your stomach now. Stay down. On your stomach. Do not move. >> Luckily, the two eventually surrendered on their own. Otherwise, who knows what could have happened. During the foot chase, they were seen tossing their guns aside, and officers quickly caught up, arrested both boys, and recovered the discarded firearms. Later, they were transferred to the juvenile detention facility. Both kids were charged with first-degree robbery and unlawful possession of a firearm. The 12-year-old was later released on electronic home monitoring under strict conditions, while the 13-year-old remained in juvenile detention pending further proceedings. Next, you're going to see how a kid pulled a gun on cops and was about to take a horrible step. >> 40 40 >> Drop it. Drop it. >> Drop it, son. On February 16th, 2025, deputies with the Bernalo County Sheriff's Office witnessed a shocking incident when they were faced with two kids holding a gun against them. According to officials, deputies had been called to this residence dozens of times before, usually for disturbances or concerns about the family. But this time, what awaited them was unlike anything they had seen. >> Black over white. >> Come on, guys. >> And he's refusing. >> Hey, girls, can you guys drop that and come talk to me? behind cover. >> Just go ahead and drop that. >> Put it down, babe. Go ahead and put it down for me. Okay, >> you're not in trouble, but we have to drop that and come talk to us. All right. >> See if there's a magazine inside the magazine. Well, >> put it down, baby. >> They're playing with the gun back and forth. The one in the blue is trying to take it from the one in the orange. >> Put it down, baby. >> Just drop it, buddy. >> Put it down, babe. You're okay. Put it down. >> Now, the kid in the blue and green has a firearm. I need you to put it down, baby. >> Let's not do that, boy. [Music] >> Let's not do that. Let's take our hand off, buddy. Let's put it on the ground. >> He said he has his hand. >> Hey guys, put down someone else to come back. >> Put the ground down and come and talk to me. It's okay. You're not in trouble, buddy. Officers rushed to the location as soon as they got the call that kids had a firearm and were threatening to use it. When they arrived, they found two boys, just seven and 9 years old, holding the gun, and no one knew how this terrifying situation would end. Deputies already knew this residence all too well. The home had a very disturbing history with reports saying they'd been called there more than 50 times, and some accounts suggesting as many as 180 prior calls. Most of those were for domestic disturbances, behavioral issues, and family conflicts. often involving the same children. Despite their age, both boys were already known to law enforcement. Deputies pleaded with them again and again to put the gun down, but nothing seemed to work, and the situation only grew more tense. >> Just put it down, babe. >> I know. Can you put it down for me? >> Just put it down. >> You're not going to be in trouble. Okay. >> Just put on the ground, bud. Come talk to us. >> You're not in trouble. 394. Who has it? >> Can you put it on the ground for me, bud? >> He does have his finger on the trigger right now. >> After multiple requests, the kids still refused to put the gun down. And at this point, the officers had very limited options left to deescalate the situation. >> Put it down, baby. >> Going out. >> 40 40. >> Drop it. Drop it. Drop it, son. >> Load another one. >> Taser. Taser. Taser. >> Load another one. >> Drop it now. You're going to get hit. >> Drop it. >> She dropped the gun. >> Taser. Taser. [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] >> Drop it now. I don't even have a gun. I don't have a gun. >> Luckily, the officers managed to arrest the kids without anyone getting hurt or the situation escalating further. But what unfolded in that moment was truly shocking and almost unbelievable. As officers used non-lethal projectiles as a distraction, the 7-year-old boy did something no one could have expected for his age. He pointed the gun at deputies and actually tried to fire the loaded weapon. Thankfully, the gun jammed and failed to discharge. At an age where most kids are still wetting the bed, these children were ready to pull the trigger on law enforcement. Incredibly, no one was injured and the scene was finally stabilized. In the days that followed, the Bernalo County Sheriff's Office announced the children would not face criminal charges. Instead, the focus would shift toward intervention and support. Next up, you will see a similar case where officers faced a knife wielding teen, which is also not going to end easily. >> Don't come near me. Stop. Stop. Alex. >> On August 16th, 2021, a summer afternoon in Loveland, Colorado, turned violent when officers responded to a call about a 19-year-old experiencing a severe mental health crisis. Officer Eddie Luzon arrived at the home quickly, but he had no idea this situation would soon take a tragic turn. Okay. >> Alex, >> Alex, talk to him, sir. He just wants to talk to you. I open 236 contact with Alex in the backyard. Can his arm lift a knife in his right hand? >> Hey, Alex. How's it going today, brother? >> You put the knife down for me and let's just talk, man. Just talk to me, bro. The 19-year-old, later identified as Alex Domina, was in no mood to talk, only focused on destroying things around him. Officers tried multiple times to reach him, speaking to him like a brother, but nothing seemed to calm him down. As the encounter went on, the situation only grew more tense. I'm not taking you anywhere, dude. I just want to talk to you. Put the knife down the table. Come talk to me. >> I ain't being tricked by that [ __ ] >> I'm not tricking you, dude. >> I want >> Okay, I'm not taking you anywhere. >> 236 still vertical cooperative. Not dropping the knife. Alex, man, I need you to stop and just talk to me, bro. >> Put the knife down, brother. Stay over there. Do not come near me. Don't come near me. One at gunpoint. He's not stopping. Don't come near me. Stop. Stop. Alex, stop, man. As Alex started approaching the officer with a knife, the officer had no other option and discharged his weapon, striking and injuring Alex. Additional officers quickly arrived, gave him medical aid, and he was rushed to a local hospital in critical condition. He underwent multiple surgeries, but sadly, 3 weeks later, he passed away. No criminal charges were filed against the officer as the judicial district attorney ruled that his actions were legally justified. Next, you'll see how a 16-year-old carrying a rifle was caught by police after a deadly struggle inside a store. On June 17th, 2024, a deputy from the Maran County Sheriff's Office fell into a deadly struggle with a teen over a rifle that could turn fatal at any moment. The incident began when the deputy attempted a traffic stop, but the driver fled and eventually hid inside a Family Dollar store. As the officer followed him inside, he had no idea how terrifying this incident was about to become. All right, sir. >> Where did he go? The white the black guy. Come on, man. >> Hey, drop the gun. Stop. Get on the ground. Get on the ground. Get on the [ __ ] ground. Get on the ground. Get on the ground. >> Get on the ground. I will I will [ __ ] Get on theing ground. Yes, sir. >> Get on the ground. Do you understand me? >> Yes, sir. >> Do you understand me? >> Not my gun, bro. That's not my gun, bro. >> Luckily, the weapon did not discharge during the struggle, or it could have been fatal. The 16-year-old, later identified as John Arya Turner, initially resisted, but was eventually detained without any further confrontation. He wasn't only carrying a rifle. Inside his vehicle, officers also discovered a backpack filled with illegal items. Turner was booked into the Marian County Jail with no bond and faced a range of serious charges. However, there is no publicly available information about any punishment or sentencing in this case.
