The juveniles were transported to jail and their mothers were contacted and asked to accompany them through the process, but most refused to come to the police department, saying the kids deserved to go to jail. The situation was even worse for the 16-year-old driver, J, whose mother said she would finally be able to sleep soundly knowing her son was no longer hurting himself on the streets. All of them were charged with felonious assault, receiving stolen property, and failure to comply. Two years after this incident, Jamal got into trouble again and was sentenced [music] to 15 to 18.5 years in prison for shooting another driver in the leg during a road rage incident.
