who are you I'm visitor visitor get up come over here come your hands all right ladies and gentlemen buckle up because we've got a case out of Maryland that is straight out of a cop drama except you know real we're talking body cam footage a controversial police shooting and a lot of unanswered questions let's break it all down so this all went down on February 1st in suland Maryland officer Braxton Shelton from Prince George's County PD rolls up solo because who needs backup when responding to a potential break-in right and things go from 0o to 100 real quick all right here we see officer Shelton pulling up standard procedure right except notice anything missing no announcements no police we're coming in just straight through the door like he owns the place show me your ass show your ass bring your ass over show me your [ __ ] hands show SH now here's where things go sideways Shelton yells show me your hands which fair enough he's responding to a break-in call but before anyone can say or do much boom shot fired and here's the kicker only 35 seconds have passed since he got out of his Cruiser let that sink in 35 seconds got one down hands show your hands who are you who are you I'm visitor visitor get up come over here come show your hands in the apartment roll them roll them get on the ground do you live here do you live here no why you in here it's my cousin ho who is he that's my brother yeah shot slide stop me stop me the rooll in mess got one down I got another one L on the ground stop me yo I'm okay I need to give render aid but I can't clear the clear the apartment stop me son inside the apartment why you in man my uh I'm I'm staying with my cousin till I move into my own place how did y'all get in here huh how did y'all get in here good clear I'm going clear I'm going clear police later find a gun in Jay's pocket and another near the kitchen sink but there's a problem the body cam footage doesn't clearly show if Jay had a weapon in his hands when he was shot and PG County PD is being reow quiet about about that detail clear I'm going clear I'm going clear let's get a traum K in here no it's clear let me Che [ __ ] what you Jay's family has lawyered up and their attorney isn't saying much yet but you better believe this case isn't going away anytime soon so what do we have here a cop who enters without announcing fires in under 40 seconds and now we're left wondering was this Justified or a tragic case of a trigger happy response I'll leave that one up to you guys let me know what you think in the comments below
