The police department of Oklahoma City confirmed [music] that the person identified as 38-year-old Timothy Johnson was hiding in the compartment of railway track number 14,000. The area was messy and only one suspicious protective vest was found. While inspecting the underside [music] of the bed, Johnson, who was hiding there, suddenly opened fire at the police officers. The two officers quickly evacuated [music] to a nearby travel trailer. >> [music] >> Shots fired. Shots fired. After confirming that they were not injured, the three police officers prepared to carry [music] out the arrest, but Johnson fired again. In the second round of fire, David Mercer was shot [music] in the face. In a critical moment, Alyssa made a quick decision, asking her two colleagues to retreat [music] to the police car for emergency treatment, while she remained in the vehicle to keep watch. About 10 minutes later, the special police arrived at the scene and found that Johnson had no vital signs. [music] David was then sent to the hospital for treatment. He has now been discharged and has joined the major incident leave along with the other two police officers. The trailer [music] owner, Jennifer Garner, was subsequently arrested by the police. On the 12th of April, 2024, a jury in Richland County convicted her of second-degree murder and harboring an escaped criminal. The court ultimately sentenced her to 15 [music] years in prison. The case also attracted widespread attention due to her initial concealment [music] of the whereabouts of the suspect, which put three police officers in danger.
