man [Applause] Ralph picarello III at 39 years old was shot and killed by police after he had picked up two knives and abruptly Advanced towards officers after being told multiple times to drop the knives officers were called to the home in the 900 block of Bound Brook Way at roughly 4 P.M for a report of a domestic disturbance the 9-1-1 caller reported picarella was throwing things at a family member and had held a knife to a family member and himself Mr picarello explained the cause of the argument to officers from a kitchen and asked that nobody touch him quote if anybody comes near me I will go into defense mode when an officer told picarello he would be removed from the home he picked up a knife and a carving fork and did not comply with requests to drop them two officers shot the man after he Advanced toward them at the same time another officer deployed his taser the officers gave picarello life-saving care until EMS arrived picarella was pronounced dead at the scene and no other injuries were reported the names of the officers who shot were released as the following demanding and E Pellegrino of the Baltimore County Police Department Ralph picarello's obituary reads as follows Ralph Joseph picarello III was a son brother father and friend who left us Suddenly at home on May 4th 2022 at the young age of 39 born on June 4 1982 Ralph took an early interest in soccer hockey and baseball he continued his soccer career through high school where he graduated from Kenwood High in 2000.
