I I didn't I wasn't stealing anything. >> Okay. >> So, I'm going to read it to you. If you want to tell me your side of the story, I would be glad to hear it. So, just give me a second. >> Okay. You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can't be used against you in court. You have the right to talk to a lawyer for advice before he ask you any questions and have them with you during questioning. You cannot afford a lawyer. One will be appointed for you before any question if you wish. If you decide to answer questions without a lawyer present, you will still have the right to stop answering at any time. You also have the right to stop answering at any time until you talk to a lawyer. Do you understand each of these rights I've explained to you? >> Yes. >> Yes. Okay. With these rights in mind, do you want to tell me your side of story and answer some questions or what? >> Why do you have my ex's ID? >> You tell me. Cuz my wallet was in the bag. Oh, my wallet was in the bag with the dog with the my rabbit here. >> Okay. >> Yeah. Why do you have my exercise ID? >> So, tell me what's going on. >> Nothing. I got I got a cart full of stuff and I sat at um the the service desk for a minute and nobody was there. So, I I was texting my friend and I went out to go get my card and my money and I went out and they they stopped me at the door. I think and I was like stealing. I told him I just had to go right here to get my card and I it was we were parts right there. I had my card. I had my money on me and everything. Like I just had to grab my money real quick. That's it. >> You just said you had your card and your money on you. >> But I had to grab it. I was trying to go grab it and she she was like freaking out on. I was like I was trying to steal something. I didn't I wasn't trying to steal anything. >> Usually when someone goes shopping they bring your money with them. >> I know. I left it in the car. >> I didn't leave it in the car. What? What? You left your wallet in the car? >> Yes. >> No. No. It wasn't my wallet in the car. No, I left my money, my cards, my debit cards and everything in the car. >> I left my wallet in the Walmart bag that was had my rabbit food in it, but I left my actual money in the car and I just had to grab it from my friend who was right there. Well, my boyfriend kind of I don't know, but he was right there. I I even have I have my money on me right now and everything. Like I I had the money to pay for all this stuff. It's like I was only pushing the car cuz I had my backpack and in there. I didn't want to just leave it like that. >> I wasn't trying to steal anything. I told the girl that I sat at the service desk for a minute. >> That's correct. >> Yes. >> Okay. So, >> but I wasn't trying to steal anything. I told her that. >> That's fine. What does your wal What does your wallet look like? What do you mean by >> What does your wallet that you carry on the daily look like? >> I have a few different wallets. >> Okay. >> Um I I What do you mean? Why is he asking me what? I don't even know which one I had at the time. >> Why is he asking me? >> That's yours. >> Yeah, that's my mom. >> Okay, that's yours. All right. >> So, you going to pay with the money that's inside? >> Money, debit cards, all that. >> No, that's No. No, because that's not enough money to pay for it. And the other money is some funny it's it's some I got from one of my son's friends. I had his It's That one's a long story, but that's not funny. >> I told her I had to get my money out of the car, but she was just freaking out on me. I wasn't trying to steal anything. >> Okay. So, I'm going to be real with you, right? When you go into a store and you forget that you have you got to get your car, you don't just go walk out with all the merchandise to go get it. >> Well, no. That's why I said the guest services for a minute where there was nobody there. Honestly, I was just pushing the car. I was just going to push car right to the door so I could pull out. Let me get my money. He was parked right there. Like, he would have heard me. I didn't even get all the way out the door. I didn't even push anything out the door. He would have heard the thing right at that that point and falling out to him. >> Like I wasn't trying to steal anything. That's not what I'm trying to do. >> Give us a minute. >> I swear to God. >> Just hang out right there. Hang right there. >> I don't know. >> Can I grab my phone? >> No. >> No. No. No. You can't. >> You guys are going to take me to jail though, right? Like >> why do you say that? Because if you if you just stopped me, then you think that I was trying to steal it, too. Like, that's just how the trouble goes, right? Even though I told her I wasn't, and I stopped right there. I wasn't trying to I didn't take anything out the door. I was just trying to call for I wasn't trying to steal anything. I was just trying to get my money. >> Well, you know, we're just trying to make sure this isn't a big misunderstanding. So, >> this is a big misunderstanding. I'm not trying this up. >> Well, the way it works, right, is that you selected a whole bunch of stuff, came in, you walked past all points of sale. No, I said to get services for a minute. There was nobody there. So then I was going to go grab my money. I was going to pay for it all at services cuz I had >> Why? My god. >> Why were you going to pay for it at guest services? >> Because I have some Target um credit thing. >> I always go to guest services. Always. I always pay for my stuff at guest services. >> What happened on that day? >> I don't I don't know. I don't know. I I don't even know. >> That's you, correct? >> I mean, >> I mean, yeah, it looks like it, but I don't know what happened on that day. >> That's you. >> So, we're not at Doesn't matter what score that was. >> That's you. >> So, >> I mean, it's on video. Like I said, we're here for a reason. You You admitted that you were at just at Target. This is you in another store. >> I I don't I don't know. I don't know where the where the hell that was. I don't have >> I don't even have that shirt. >> You shop at Walmart? >> Yeah, I shop at Walmart, but I don't even have that shirt. >> I don't have that shirt. I don't wear True Religion. >> You might Okay, you might not have it anymore. But >> how do you know what that is from? >> Because you can see the symbols on it. >> Look, you know, we've had previous interactions with you. We know you personally. We knew that was you from before. It's no coincidence. We just saw you in a bike and we're like, "Oh, there she goes." So that's what that's why we're here. We're just >> That's what So we're just trying to We're just trying to see. So obviously you have a you have a reason for or or an explanation for what happened today. We're asking what happened that day cuz you're on video passing off points of sale. >> Passing off points of sale. I don't even know. I don't even know what that is. >> Here's the thing, right? And I'm a very level-headed person. When you start lying to me, I get a little upset. So listen to me very carefully. You I showed you the picture. You said, "Yes, that's me. It looks like me." Then you just 10 seconds 10 seconds later, you just said, "No, no, I don't have that shirt." >> But I don't I don't have that shirt. But it does look like me cuz of my shorts and everything. I always wear those cut off shorts. But I don't go past points of I don't make it a habit to go past points of sale. I don't make it a habit to just be stealing uh food and and stuff at Target. Like I don't want I don't want to get in trouble. Like I don't I don't like getting in trouble. I don't like that. I don't want to lose my job. I don't want >> Do you remember Do you remember that day specifically? Do you remember like did you leave your wallet that day too or what? >> A big incident where you had selfch checkout with a whole cart of food >> and people say you tried to self you tried to do the selfch checkout over the app and it just wasn't working for some reason and employees were helping you trying to get you some help. >> Was it over here on Piling Road? >> Yes. >> That went through. That went through. If I could get my phone I'll show you the receipt to it. Okay. >> That went through and it told me that it went through. It said you're all set and it says that we you went through and that I don't know what the hell that >> if if that's the same incident that happened at Walmart on Pine Island Road that's what happened on Pine Island Road cuz you're saying it's a big incident with selfch checkckout. I did have a big incident selfch checkckout but it went through. It paid and they were telling me that it didn't. And I'm like yes it did. And I showed them my phone and everything >> and that's when I just got pissed off and I just said whatever. I don't have time for this. I needed to go feed my kids or I needed to go home for something. I don't I don't really remember too much of it cuz I don't really remember but I don't make a good point like I'm not >> So that day So that day you were at Walmart and then what happened? You went through the selfch checkout. >> I don't know if it was that day. I had one incident at Walmart. I don't know. I don't even >> I don't have many incidents like that. Just you're just telling me it's a big coincidence that a girl that looks just like you just in a different shirt had the same exact incident of a selfch checkckout where you tried to pay on the app and it it's just all a big coincidence. >> What do you mean? >> Yeah. Someone who looks just like you have the exact same incident at Walmart that you shop at about selfch checkout on an >> on on that day. Let me see the photo. >> You guys are going to take me to jail. >> Yeah. I mean, you're not cooperating. >> Yes, I am coming. I don't want to go to jail. >> All right. Look, >> please. I don't want to go to jail. >> I think you're literally wearing the same shorts. >> No, I just got these shorts actually today. >> All right. So, this is clearly you on this day. What happened? Did you Was it that you didn't pay or you had an issue at the uh at the at the selfch checkout? What? I don't know if it's that day or if I don't even know. You're saying that that's me, but I don't even know if that is >> clearly you. >> I mean, it's that kind of looks like a gorilla. I mean, it's kind of >> You might have had a rough day, but it's you. >> It's kind of blurry. >> But I did have one incident at Walmart where they was trying to help me check out, but it my phone said that I paid. I paid. My ex let me use his card on the Walmart app and that's why I was using the Walmart app because he I didn't have his card. He sent it to me in a text. I put it on the Walmart app and I paid and it said it went through and they were yelling at me that it didn't or some [ __ ] I don't know. But I didn't have time to sit around and just [ __ ] with them. I had to go but it went through. >> Okay. >> Oh my god. I did not I don't get a bunch of stupid and stuff. >> What's a What's a good address for you? Northport. >> Okay. What is it? >> So, you're saying if I let you get your phone, is it here? >> Yes. >> Okay. That you're going to be able to show me that you paid for that day that you're referring to? >> Yeah. If you can Yeah, you can tell me a date. It might take me a minute. I might have to try to get into the Walmart app with a I have it's a whole different phone. I got factory reset. But yeah, when I had an incident at Walmart, it went through. It told me it was all set. We were all set. I even screenshotted it and showed it to the lady and we were standing right there arguing about it the whole time. I mean, you guys must have watched all that, right? >> Yeah. >> Okay. So, then you saw that I was paying for it. >> No, that's not that. >> You saw that I was show that I showed her the screenshot. I showed her where it said all set. You can zoom in. You can see where it said all set. You're all set. You're all set. That means you can go. You're paid for it, right? Nope. >> They can't verify that you paid for any of that stuff in the car that day. You can zoom in on the photos and you can see regardless of where I showed her what it said >> what my phone said >> in their system there was no amount paid for that transaction. >> You guys are taking the chair. >> Can you just uh lean up against you know if I if I say these people do you know them or not? All right. What? >> Did you show me a picture? >> Yeah. Who is she? She >> She was one of my brother's ex-boyfriends. His >> brother's ex-girlfriend. >> Yes. >> Yes. So, my brother, he likes he likes prostitutes and whenever they don't have whatever it is that they need to film their job or whatever it is, they usually give him something to hold on to. Um, jewelry or their ID usually is what it is. Everybody needs their ID back, you know. Um, so that's what they used to do at house and my brother would always bring one of these girls and kind of >> what they would use their ID. Yeah, if they didn't have enough money to get what they needed or if they couldn't get right or is everybody's going to come back to her, I think, you know what I mean? Usually >> my brother's girlfriend. Yeah. >> Um just friends. She's also a trick though, but they're both tricks. >> So, they just happen to leave their IDs at so >> cuz they never wanted to come back to pay him what they owed them. So, they left their teeth there. So, we're all getting evicted. >> Do they know that you have them? >> I don't know if they know that I have them, but they know that I lived in that house and they know that they left their IDs there. >> I haven't been able to reach out to either one of them and let them know cuz I believe we haven't been evicted for very long. >> What about location? >> That's my daughter's wife. >> It's my daughter. It's my daughter's daughter. >> Yes, my daughter's daughter. You have the same. >> Okay. So >> can I go talk to him? I mean like look the fact that some happened at Walmart and then we get called to Target same person and like when it happened at Walmart I looked at the video and I was like um I was like yeah I remember her you we double you at Liberty Tax when they had the issue with your baby. >> Yeah. just hang out a little bit more over there so I can see you. >> Um, yes, >> bro. Okay. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. >> Hold my face. >> Okay. Okay. >> On May 17, 2019, at 12:35 p.m., the Pasadena Police Department received a phone call from an unidentified male reporting a suspicious person in a vehicle. >> Yes. Uh there's a guy in a black Lexus gang banging on kids and UPS drivers on the corner of uh Glenn and uh Howard. He's wearing all red and I have the license plate number. >> Give me one second. What is he doing exactly? >> He's uh ging [ __ ] this thing. He's like this thing this king that gang and then [ __ ] this king that ging. And then he he threatened a UPS driver and then he's yelling at some kids. So I regret they were walking by. Officers responded to the area and were unable to locate the vehicle or the person in question. At 6:10 p.m., the Pasadena Police Department received a phone call from an unidentified female reporting a man yelling gang slurs and acting suspicious. >> 911 emergency. >> Hi. Um, I'd like to give a tip. There's a African-Amean male standing on the corner of Glenn and Howard. Um, he's yelling at cars. uh yelling gang slurs and asking uh suspicious. >> Okay. What are you wearing? Color shirt, color pants. >> Uh he's wearing red and it looks like he has like a black sweater or like a black um like his chest part is black, but the sleeves are red and the king has a red hat. >> Okay. And what is he yelling? Anybody can hear Um something about blood. >> Was he by himself? >> Yeah, he's by himself. Like he's yelling he's yelling at cars passing by and he keeps pacing and he's making people nervous cuz he's acting rowdy. Two police officers in a marked black and white responded to the northwest corner of Howard Street and Glenn Avenue and activated a bodywn camera while seated in their vehicle. The officer saw the subject in question and heard him yelling while on private property. One officer recognized the suspect from a prior call where he had fought with unformed police officers. The officers then contacted a female who was in front of the location and disengaged from the call as the person in question was on private property and not violating any laws. At 6:27 p.m., the Pasadena Police Department received a return call from the unidentified female caller reporting that the male called on earlier was now armed with an AR-15 rifle. >> 911, what are you reporting? >> Hi. Um, I called earlier about a man on the corner of Glenn Howard. >> Okay. Um, >> how long ago did you call him? >> Uh, like uh 30 minutes. The cops passed by and they left. Now the guy has uh he has a gun and he's still yelling and he's getting crazy at the minute. >> It um it looks like an automatic. >> How big was it? >> One second. Is he still in the area of Glenn and Howard? >> Yes. >> What color is it? Are you there, ma'am? >> Um, yes, I'm here. Hold on. >> How big is it? >> But what kind of animal? >> They're saying it's an AR-15. >> Okay. And he's still yelling. And again, he's he's a male, black, wearing a black sweater, red sleeves, red hot. >> Yeah. Um they're saying that he was waving it in the air above his head and now he's hiding it towards the side of the house. >> It looks like he's on something and he's going crazy. At 6:29 p.m., the Pasadena Police Dispatch Center made a general broadcast to all units of a man with a firearm at Glenn Avenue and Howard Street, specifically an AR-15 that he was waving in the air while yelling. Officers believed it to be Daniel Warren, as they had a prior altercation with him in the past. One of the officers that responded to the 6:10 p.m. call advised the responding units that the subject in question was wearing a black vest, but did not know if it was a ballistic vest. Another officer advised that Warren had prior gun history. Officers arrived on scene and walked to the location from Sunset Avenue and Howard Street. One officer saw the subject, who was later identified as Daniel Warren, as Warren was not holding anything, but was wearing a tactical vest. Warren was yelling and eventually produced a firearm, pointing it at responding officers. An officer advised that Warren was pointing a gun and yelled eight times for him to drop the gun. An officer involved shooting occurred and Warren retreated between two houses. Get your hands up. He's pointing something. He's pointing something. >> You know, he's making a gesture. I don't think he has anything in his hand. >> He just pointed at us. >> No, he's got a gun. He's got a gun. He's got a gun. I see it in his hand. I see it. >> Drop the gun. Drop the gun. >> Jump the gun. >> Drop the gun. >> Drop the gun. Drum up the gun. >> [ __ ] There's >> the gun. >> Yep. Yep. He's pointing it. Drum up the gun. >> Take him out. >> Commands. >> Give me commands. >> Shots fired. >> We got shots fired. >> He ducked behind the >> two. Shots. Shots fired. Yep. >> He's shooting. That means in the front yard on the south side over here. >> I can see him right here. >> 274. We got shots fired. Suspect is firing at us and we have officers engaged as well. >> The containment of the scene moved into an isolation as officers attempted to get eyes on Warren by climbing fences across the streets from Warren's last known whereabouts. Officers located Warren seated in a chair between two houses and saw two firearms near him as he was bleeding. They gave Warren commands to surrender and show his hands. An emergency response team or ERT was identified and the police department's armored vehicle was summoned to the scene. The team leader of the ERT initiated a plan to utilize less lethal systems to cause Warren's surrender. Once the ERT was in place, the team leader deployed a light sound diversionary device where Warren was seated. There was no reaction as Warren was then struck with a 40mm foam baton impact round. Again, there was no reaction, so the ERT moved up to Warren and he was detained. Life-saving efforts were initiated, but Warren unfortunately died at the scene. >> 235 What's up? >> Come here. Come here. Come here. Come here. Get your hands off her [ __ ] Get your [ __ ] hands up. Get your hands off. Get your hands off. Get your [ __ ] hands up. Come here. >> Everybody good? He walked out. >> Okay. >> He walked outside and he's just like hanging out in the parking lot. >> How long ago did he do this? >> Like couple minutes ago. >> 5 minutes. 10 minutes.
