Stand by. Stand by. Uh my name is PC Tarik. Um attached to Hammersmith like Adam. Uh currently on response team. I've been in the Met for uh 7 years. Half my service I've spent like Adam as a special constable and then later joining as a full-time response um police constable. After leaving college this is all I've wanted to do. I've always uh had this thing in me where I wanted to give back to the community uh and support people in need and try and protect the public. >> So I'm Adam. I'm I'm 6 and 1/2 years in the job now. 6 and 1/2 years a PC. Got a taste for the job and never looked back from there really. So there's no other job like it really. It's something absolutely different every day from one job to another. We we've got no idea where we're going to go to. >> Especially on response team you deal with things um fast-moving things and every day is different um and you make a real change on response team which is which is the most important thing for me. Like this area the uh White City estate um seen a unfortunately rise in um gang activity. We've had a lot of issues around knife crime and uh people habitually carrying knives um vehicles on clone plates. Um like for example this moped here on the right is he's currently on his phone. He's seen us. He's approached the junction and he's quickly done a U-turn and gone right. We have loads of mopeds that turn up here and do that sort of behavior when they see us. Um we're trying to approach him get a video of him but I believe he might think that he might know who I'm behind it. We'll see his reaction. This this starts building my stop and search grounds now. Why has he come to a main road? Why has he then double backed and turned? He's also uses using his handheld device. He's not indicating where he's going. That is the only way out of the estate. I'm going to get off here and see if I can cut them off. >> Get out of the car, yes. See what See what's happening. As As Tarik is saying, that moped is on a big loop as soon as it's seen as it's now kind of still loops around around the estate. Just want to have a chat to him and try to establish what he's doing. >> One vehicle believed to be involved in running over one of our police officers causing GBH injuries. >> Yeah, keep the channels clear. I want to stop him on foot. I want to stop him on the bike. >> Over 23 correct VRM. CCTV receiving. >> Stand by. Stand by. >> Tarik's correctly spotted this moped. As soon as it's seen us, we've had a huge adverse reactions to marked police car. He's spun around on the spot and then he's starting to do loops around the estate to get away from us. At that stage, we we're not aware that this is the the moped that 2 weeks ago run over one of our colleagues causing him to have a broken leg, GBH injuries. And so there is a lot of intelligence around this vehicle, but until we can get behind it and see the number plate, obviously we we weren't aware. Tarik's got out to try and try and try and speak to the chap, just ask him what he's doing in the area and at that stage he's made off while Tarik's on foot. So what we're trying to do at the moment is just um curral some resources to the area. So that's what we were just trying to trying to get some support from. This is a dangerous offender, someone that's got very little regard for human life. So it'd be good to try and then catch up with him so that they can answer some questions about what they did. I think it was on this road about 2 to 3 weeks ago. >> Uh we've picked up a vehicle Latimer Road, White City. Two up, VRM covered. Two males on the bike and we believe potentially LS bike. We got units towards White City, please. >> Moped sighted. Loom Mountain Road heading towards the estate. CCTV CCTV, it's a riot wall, I believe, routing it up to the A40. >> Yeah, received the word right here. We're going to set up a preemptive stinger site. >> Yeah, received. Confirm preempt. >> When we use a stinger, we we're always hard cover, so we're not going to be anywhere where we're going to get run over. Like, absolutely not. And then >> It was a white It was a white It was a white vehicle. I don't know if there was potential heating. >> Yeah, received. >> Do you think your stinger could be of use? Car sighted. >> Yeah, yeah, we're on the top one as well. >> Moped Mountain Time. >> So, you'll come up here. >> It was a white vehicle. >> the This is the known route that he's taken before. >> Down the right towards Wanstead Park. He is uh So, we got the reg you gave out, however. >> Be careful, there is a moped that's going around. He's been very reckless trying to I don't know if he's got a knife on him or anything like that. He's going around the estate. That's where you're going, so be mindful of the water pistols. He's going to come through here, I believe. So, if you set up a stinger site behind that wall there, you got hard cover. >> MP from Alpha 654, we've got a stinger site on the pavement. If it goes west from that roundabout, we've got a stinger site set up with hard cover over. >> Received it at preemptive tactical contact vehicle advised 620 vehicles MPV. >> I have it. >> Show me where you last seen him, MPV. >> That's fine, Serge. 141, please. That's one stinger. >> He's currently north side of the roundabout now. >> 550 up. >> Go on the footbridge and going in, MPV. >> Yeah, we're trying to get a stinger in open position now. >> I think bust up. What What do you think about What do you think about being behind that barrier there? Cuz then you've got options if he comes on the curb, it is hard cover, isn't it? >> Do that and then it gives us two options. >> Receive. >> Yes, yes. We've got the rider detained. >> Um shall we go back through the pavement way and then let's get out the route. >> The moped that we were looking for earlier on potentially been sighted by N Pass, so the the police helicopter, they've tracked it um doing a drug deal, which sort of marries up to what I was suspecting earlier on. It's involved in gangs. It potentially still armed with a weapon. So, the update was that they had the male who was on that back moped. Whether or not it's the same one or just identical in the wrong place at the wrong time. That moped as well was involved in them drug dealing. They've got the rider stopped. He's come out of the address. There were some unmarked units there and they've detained the male. I think they're going to search him and see what they find in terms of a section 23 search. >> The moped that they've stopped before uh male's just been arrested for possession of offensive weapon. >> You're under arrest at the moment on suspicion of possession of offensive weapon. I believe you're concerned in the supply of Class A drugs. Okay, so you don't have to say anything. May I have your defensive do not mention any questions such as where I am in the court. You've been seen to go into an address where there's two machetes, uh loads of snap bags, loads of other items which make me believe that you're concerned in the supply of controlled drugs. >> No, you don't just take these. >> There we go. >> We're interfering people. >> So, it goes to show kind of um when we're getting these reactions to our police vehicles and they're making off from us, it is usually it is usually for a good reason. Either the vehicle's stolen or or it's um they're in possession of weapons or drugs. Um that that's the kind of thing we're dealing with when when these vehicles make off from us. So, >> Right. Can you come and follow me? >> It's very good. So, what I'll do is I'll lay it out on on our bonnet over there and I can show you what they've uh found. This is what's been found. Uh two of these, uh loads of drug paraphernalia. Uh it's a fantastic result. These were apparently accessible ready on the sofa when the officers went into the address following the arrest of the individual who was on the moped, moped that we saw earlier on. Um uh might maybe linked to this one because there's loads of mopeds operating in that area and past assisted with identifying um this other moped, which is this one um that we stopped here and following the arrest, which I believe was following a stop and search, these items were found in the address. Uh it's a successful job. Um we've got two dangerous weapons off the street and loads of drug paraphernalia and we've potentially um protected and preserved a life that could have been endangered by these weapons. Um so, the moped that was seized linked to the uh arrest for the machetes and the drugs, um some males have approached the officers who are waiting for the uh recovery to to take it. They've uh started becoming a bit aggro with the officers, inquiring why it's being taken away. Uh clearly, like my colleague said earlier on, it it's being utilized as a pool vehicle and they're not happy that we've disrupted their their activities today. So, I I concerned a little bit about my colleague's safety, which is why we're utilizing a bit of progress to get there. I'm just going to jump out and see if he's okay. >> Yeah, absolutely. >> All right, mate, you all right? It's been seized. >> Why has it been >> It's cuz it's got no Well, the rider who had it had no insurance. Do you have the V5 certificate for the moped? Yes, I understand that. Cuz the driver couldn't provide any insurance details, so the moped's been seized. The rider? Yes, couldn't provide any insurance details to the officer. It's fine, he's with us. Anyone can record you, mate. It's fine, focus on that. Essentially, it's seized now. V5, Perivale. Thanks so much. All right, thank you very much. Yeah, oh, we've given it to the person who got arrested, who was on the moped. But, you take the VRM and we'll inquire that way. No worries. So, essentially, he saw that he's come up to me. Essentially, it's some sort of owner who's on the phone. I can't clarify that that's the owner. We've had multiple people claiming owner- claiming ownership of this moped. Claiming it's not in the right hands and nobody can determine who it actually is, so we've done a good job. Keep him here until you get the car in position. >> We'd handed the seized moped over to some colleagues just to look after until the recovery truck could arrive. As we'd kind of said that to them, they've been approached by four males, one of them's in a full-face balaclava, proclaiming to be the the keeper of the vehicle and wanting to take it away. This vehicle's been seized, obviously, as we said before, due to it being driven without insurance and without a license. So, it's always it's always been seized now. It matters not that the person that's come up to us was not the one riding it. And so, we're we're just going going to escort this vehicle now, make sure um when it's not going to be approached by any of uh any other people that came before whilst the driver's in there on his own. So, just just make sure uh ensure their safety. So, we're approaching Sloane Square now, where we do get a lot of lot of robberies, lot of theft snatch um from person. The reason for that is we we've got a lot of these lovely boutiques around here, cafes. People come and do their shopping, they come and sit here, not necessarily paying any attention to their surroundings. Um so, yeah, we're just looking for those people that are not meeting the baseline for the area. As you can see, people are walking around in couples, singles. Uh they're all going somewhere. The The person that's going to draw our attention today is going to be the person that's just sat observing everyone else. They're going to stand out to you like a sore thumb. >> Those surron bike um thieves, they they they usually have their faces concealed with the helmets on and stuff like that. And they they stand in corners of Sloane Square or slight down the side streets, just observing members of the public and seeing if they can catch anyone with their phone now. >> They get on the pavement, the person's got no idea what's coming. They grab the phone, they're gone. >> And it's frustrating really because you shouldn't be living in a society where you should be in fear of having your phone out. But, we do advise people just to be careful and be vigilant when they have their phones out. As you can see around now, there's loads of people with their phones out in their hands. So, it's a very very targeted hotspot for these um phone snatchers. If we know that they're coming through Westminster towards our area, we can plot up on roads where we can where we believe they might come out from. Um potentially stand there with the stinger. It's just about being in the right area at the right time in order to potentially intercept them. >> Preemptive tools is stop search. We can we can search people, you know, in those areas like I say, engage with them um if we suspect they're going to have stolen property on them. Uh that that's another tool we use. We've got great CCTV as well. We've got the National Police Air Service, which can uh deploy to calls and track these people better with much less risk during a pursuit if we've got a police helicopter that can safely follow them from afar. And with a few surons now that can follow these bikes, you know, on the little cut throughs and rat runs that they use much more suitable to pursue them than we are in a in a car or even on a motorbike which is quite heavy and unwieldy. >> Okay. >> And I know I had it in my >> Right, okay. And you think maybe where do you think this is potentially happened? >> I don't know. I didn't like put it in >> So how long how long ago when when was the last time you >> 15 minutes. >> And when was the last time you had it definitely on you? >> It was like 15 minutes ago. >> So she was at Zara and then potentially pickpocket happened there. Thankfully it's just property, okay. They haven't harmed you, have they? And you don't know who it was. Okay. Um and you said this happened around >> It was Zara. >> By Zara opposite Harrods. >> I had some cash and I had my driving license and two bank >> Okay. Um have you So your bank cards? >> I've just frozen one of them. >> Fantastic. >> Have you already called police, ma'am? Did you call first? No. >> I've literally just called now. >> A female flagged us down there. She's been a victim of a snatch theft now. >> thing is that you haven't been harmed. What we'll do is we'll take some details about the property that's been missing and we'll make a note of it. Pickpockets around this area target for cash and jewelry. And I think they wouldn't have been interested in your driving license. >> Okay. >> And in terms of property so you said to us there was some it was your purse that's been taken out of there. What does a purse look wallet what does it look like, ma'am? >> It's a gray wallet with a handle in the middle. >> Uh so with our victim in relation to the pickpocketing that we were flagged down by, took the details down descriptions on the items that were taken from her in order to put on a crime report. We took her back to the shop that she'd attended where she believed the the offense occurred and we spoke to the security there and managers to see whether or not anything had been returned or picked up or found. Unfortunately, nothing was found. Hopefully, what we hope would happen is someone will pick up her purse, find it, and hand it over back to police and then hopefully we can reunite her with her items. So, essentially, we received a call stating that a teenager had a knife on them and has brandished the knife out and has attempted to stab three other males. There's more information that's just come through now stating that this male was in fact on a moped after this incident has occurred. And they potentially might still be in the area. There is a description of this male that's been circulated. We've got multiple units coming towards this area to try and see if this area if this male is still in the area. >> The description is of a black male with a balaclava just essentially wielding wielding a knife. There isn't a great deal more for for it. There's mention of a motorbike helmet and a motorcycle as well. Tesco's Labroke Grove corner of Oxford Gardens. Definitely don't worry. We'll We'll be there in 2 minutes. >> Yeah, cool. >> Hello, lads. >> Hello, guys. Have you seen him There's a chap who's walked into Tesco's earlier on. He had a black helmet wearing all black about half an hour ago 15 minutes ago. Have you seen anyone acting shifty like wrapping around in a moped? All right. If you do, please call us. He's tried to go for three other people randomly. No, he's with a knife. He's tried to stab people, yeah. So, if you do see anything around, just call us, okay? Thanks so much, matey. >> Uh so, yeah, we were called to Labroke Grove to report of a male who's potentially tried to stab two to three other males. Straight off the bat, what officers have started doing is calling CCTV, trying to see what we've got live in that area. We had officers on scene very quickly, but they couldn't locate anyone matching the vague description we were given. And we just flooded all the surrounding area, so we went around all the areas that we know gang members to to frequent. Gang tensions around all the estates, trying to locate the males, anyone fighting, anyone matching those descriptions. And then we've left our CCTV essentially doing inquiries, trying to see if they could pick this male up. So we've just had a final result, which I think was a target just got a phone call from CCTV with a with a number plate potentially for a vehicle that the the male with a knife has made off on. So there'll need to be some further inquiries done around that, just to see if we can try and pick up who's riding it, where it's where it goes to, get an MPR marker on it, get it stopped, just try and see if it is indeed this bike. And essentially that that might well end in in the male being searched if if the officers have grounds to for for weapons just based on the on the call that we attended. It can be typical for a shift. It depends it massively depends on the day. So when we were saying at the start of the shift like every day is different, this day we've had a lot of obviously powered two-wheelers making off from police in different for different offenses, doing different things. But in terms of it being frantic and going from call to call, yeah, absolutely. That's that's an everyday occurrence, so that's not something that's ever changed while while I've been doing this job. We're always very busy. Which is nice as well. It's nice nice to be busy. Response policing is is the core of policing along with neighborhoods. We will respond to the complaints, the issues people are having, and we we try and come up with resolutions for them. Sometimes quick time, sometimes a bit slower. And but it it's where you you can make I feel like you can make the most difference because you are dealing directly with the victims and the suspects. Um and you're you're the person that turns up when someone needs help. So, yeah, I'd definitely encourage that. >> My name is PC Tarik and I'm attached to Hammersmith like Adam. I've been with the Met for 7 years, half of which I've spent as a special constable. After graduating from college, I joined the Met as a full-time response police constable because this is all I've ever wanted to do. I've always had this desire to give back to the community, help those in need, and try to protect the public. My name is Adam and I've been with the Met for 6 and 1/2 years. It's something completely different every day from one job to another and we have no idea what we're going to go to next. In particular on the response team, you deal with things, fast-moving things, and every day is different. You make a real change on response team, which is the most important thing for me. I've been a PC for 6 and 1/2 years and I never really looked back. Unfortunately, there has been an increase in gang activity in this area, the White City Estate. We've had a lot of problems with knife crime, people carrying knives on a regular basis, and cars with cloned license plates. For instance, this moped here on the right is on his phone right now. He saw us, came to the intersection, and quickly made a U-turn and went right. There are a lot of mopeds that come up here and act in that way when when they notice us. We'll try to move close and get a This begins to build my stop and search grounds because I think he might think he knows we're behind him. Why has he come to a main road? Why is he turning and double-backing? He's also using his handheld device, but he's not indicating where he's going, which is the only way out of the estate. I might just get off here and see if I can cut him off. Yes, observe what check out what's going on. We would like to speak with Tariq and try to find out what he is doing with the cloned vehicle that is thought to have been involved in running over one of our police officers resulting in GBH injuries. Tariq mentioned that the moped had done a large loop as soon as it saw us and that it is now merely doing loops around the estate. Yes, keep the channels open. Tactical contact standby standby and VRM CCTV receiving request NPS were flagged for him to stop on foot, but he didn't stop for me. Tariq was right to identify this moped and as soon as it saw us, we experienced a severe negative reaction. There is a lot of intelligence surrounding this vehicle. But until we can get behind it and see the number plate, obviously we weren't aware. He spun around in front of a marked police car and then began to make circles around the estate to avoid us. At that point, we didn't know that this was the moped that had run over one of our co-workers 2 weeks prior breaking his leg and causing GBH injuries. Tariq then got out to try and The man is a dangerous criminal who has little regard for human life, so it would be beneficial to try and talk to him and ask him what he's doing in the area. At that point, he's left while Tariq is on foot. So, what we're trying to do right now is just bring some resources to the area. So, that's what we were trying to get some support from. We picked up a vehicle on Latimer Road in White City 2 weeks ago and VRM covered two males on the bike. We think the bike may have been lost or stolen, so we got units towards White City. Please, a moped was spotted on Blue Fontaine Road heading towards the estate CCTV. I would like to catch up with them so they can respond to some questions about what they did. We're right here. And we're going to set up a preemptive stinger site. I assume that CCTV is a right towards routing up to the A40. Therefore, if we use a stinger, we always use hard cover, so
