Sean, text. Don't, don't, don't, don't phone her back. >> I'm going to kill myself if I go home. I hate it there. >> You know what? Guess what? Tonight, put your on the porch and I'll come and pick you up because there's nothing none of these mother [ __ ] dudes. >> On May 25th, 2025 in Circleville, Ohio, Pickaway County deputies respond to a quiet home after receiving a call involving a missing juvenile. At first, it appears to be nothing more than a routine welfare check. But as more family members begin arriving and emotions start boiling over, deputies realize this call is about to head in a completely different direction. Sometimes the most unpredictable calls aren't the dangerous ones. They're the personal ones. >> What's going on? >> I don't really know. My grandma's just mad but I am. >> She's mad about what? She's mad about what? >> Cuz I want to go and live with my dad. I just don't like living with her. >> Is there any reason why? >> There's a lot. Um [music] >> Do you think that we could talk over here maybe that's a smart idea over there? >> Okay. Uh she when I first started coming to her house, she was using my name. And and then I would have to listen to everything and they would take the credit for it. And I just don't like >> Okay. >> Um >> Told you this. Yeah, she's all right up all right, you know. We appreciate it. Okay. >> Um Grandma wanted to use you as a missing juvenile, okay? So Uh more than likely Grandma's going to come get you or we're going to have to take you down to the police office. Okay. >> I don't want to go back. >> Why don't you want to go back? >> Cuz I don't want to be there. >> I understand that. I don't have any control over that. >> But she already told me I could go I could get my stuff and come back. >> Sean, text. Don't, don't, don't, don't hold it back. You you that? you can hear you can tell me. Don't don't hold it back. Just tell me you can come get her. Get the hell out. Don't hold it back. >> Hearing the father about the text messages, you can tell he's trying to prove he didn't convince his daughter to run away. In my opinion, when someone starts saying don't hold it back, tell them everything, they're hoping the full story works in their favor. The question is whether everyone else sees it that way. >> Um as far as no like if she's feeding you, she's >> When I want to eat. >> You're you have all the necessities that you need such as >> When I buy it. >> clean clothes, the place isn't in in habitable as like like there's not feces all over the place or anything. >> I I I I can vouch for that. >> Um okay, I don't know what to do for you. Uh ultimately, why does grandma have custody? >> Cuz there's an incident happened with between me and my dad. >> I was on probation for a year and I lost custody. >> But I was getting told that it Yeah. But then I got told that nobody can take us from me and then it was temporary. >> Then the juvenile pulls out the messages, showing her grandmother telling her not to come back. And that's the kind of evidence that completely changes the conversation. I actually like how the deputies focus on giving advice instead of taking sides. But this family still isn't anywhere close to an agreement. >> So what I do if she wants to >> than her tonight. We're saying all first off >> that's what Ross County >> So we need court first. >> That's not what we're saying. >> You get court stuff? >> Well, if you don't have custody over her, then she has to stay with grandma. >> But yeah, she's down here. >> Okay, forget that. Well, if grandma says that she can leave and come here, then that's between you and grandma. >> You didn't know I got a text right there on her reading it. >> But it says >> She told me she even told me not to come back. You saw the text. It said not to come back. >> Well, if that's the case, then I would go ahead and recommend yes getting law enforcement there. And then tell them, "Hey, she's saying that she needs to leave, and I'm going to take her because I'm I'm dad." >> Right. >> Um and I want this to be documented that way she can't go back and say >> until it comes down to court. That That's all I'm asking you. >> Well, that way she can't go back and say, "I didn't tell her she could leave. I didn't say you could take her. You're in You're in interference with custody." Or >> when she showed up if she was going to show up like she said she was going to show up, she showed up. I said, "You guys can be here." I handed the car keys. She said, "Who do I call?" I said, "That's the right number." >> When deputies explain there's only so much they can legally do, you can almost feel the frustration building. Then the juvenile says she's going to kill herself. And just like that, this stops being a custody dispute and becomes something [music] much more serious. Everyone's priorities change in an instant. >> There's nothing we can do unless there's >> I can't go home. I'm going to kill myself if I go home. I hate it there. I'm depressed there. I hate it there. I can't. >> 49 Got it. Advise the grandma as well as Ross County she's threatening 58. So, either grandma's going to have to come take her >> Stop. >> or we're going to have >> Stop. >> I CAN'T GO BACK THERE. >> [crying] >> STOP. WAIT. GIVE ME GIVE ME DOLORES' NUMBER. GIVE ME DOLORES' NUMBER. >> I will call her. She will come here now. >> [snorts] >> Why Why are you here? >> Because she's entered as a missing juvenile. And you don't have custody of her like I explained to >> No, I'm her father. >> Right, but grandma has custody of her. >> No, she's a temporary >> So, therefore, you don't have custody of her. And I explained to you if you're found to be with her and you don't tell us you'll be charged with interference with custody. >> as soon as they showed up. >> Right, you did. >> I am. >> But the other issue we have as of right now is she's threatening to harm herself. >> they said they have to I have to go back. >> Why why wouldn't she go in there? Why not? She didn't Why wouldn't >> Can you guys call juvenile services right now? I want you to take her >> I I can't go back. >> I want you to pull up in that driveway. And then see this house and then she's got to go from this house here to this house where this file is. That that that's her usually that is a felon. >> Well, we wouldn't be doing that anyway. We can take her down to the Ross >> Of course you would. >> We would take her down to Ross Ross County and then Ross County would take her. >> Can you tell me down and tell me the number to give him to call? >> At this point, the whole call has taken a completely [music] different turn. The father is telling his daughter he'll take her home tonight and that nobody can stop him. In my opinion, when emotions start replacing judgment, deputies know they're running out of peaceful options. >> I'm also got a message from my text and to my wife that she's not allowed back on this property property. >> Well, as of right now she's not on the property, but Kaylee does need to go with her if she's here. That's that's that's That's custodial guardian to you. >> She's going to stay over there for now. >> Stay what? >> She's going to stay over there for now. We just have to have split. >> Where do we need to go? >> I know. We don't want to >> She literally she literally told me I had to tell him here. >> I know. And she also >> She told me I could go back. >> She even told you she's with me outside tonight. >> Uh-huh. >> And guess what? Tonight, put your on the porch and I'll come and pick you up because there's nothing any of these mother can do cuz I'm going to come and pick you up tonight when she gets off of work. >> My question is so >> You watch and see if I >> Okay, but >> Don't [laughter] you She told me >> Okay, I got it. I got it. I got come back. Watch her. >> Now the attention shifts to the grandmother and the father's frustration starts turning into threats. This has gone from a family disagreement to something everyone on scene has to take seriously and believe me, the next 5 minutes are where everything unravels. >> Yeah, 42 49. >> Guess what? >> Can you step over there? >> No. >> Yes. >> That's my mother. >> Can you step over there? >> I will come and get her tonight. >> 42 you're all clear. We got a non-breather. >> You watch if I don't come and get her. >> We're dealing with a 20. >> You done told her you done told her that her was going to be sitting outside. >> over there? >> I will come and get her. And then you going to cause in front of my mother's house? I'm Ross County. You're nothing but a worthless You ain't not You are not a mother. You are a worthless piece of >> Dad's being escalated. He's trying to start a fight so it's time for you to go grandma. >> THAT'S WHY YOUR MOTHER NEVER wants you. >> She told me I could come live here and now you wanting me to come back? >> Watch for cars. >> No, no. I don't text. You text me. >> Mandy here. >> Earlier that I could come live here. >> I'm coming to get you. >> You told me not to come back to come get my come back. >> Okay, get out of the road. >> I TOLD YOU I COULD COME BACK. >> OKAY, OKAY. >> I've got to text the cops to come see me. >> No, I told you I want to go with her. >> I get it. I get it. >> No, she told me I could come live here. >> I'm There's cars coming so let's step off the road. It's all right. Jeff, can you get out of the road? Donchino. Jeff, can you get out of the road? >> Seeing him stretched out in the middle of the road while a car waits in front of him [music] almost feels surreal. If you ask me, this isn't someone thinking about the consequences anymore. It's someone determined to make the situation about himself. [music] Unfortunately, the darkest part of the night is still ahead. >> Jeff, can you get out of the road? >> No, I'm worried about this mother >> You need to get out of the road. >> Run me over. >> Yeah. All right, Jeff. Stand up. Put your hands behind your back. Come here. You're under arrest. COME HERE. DUDE, YOU'RE UNDER ARREST. [laughter] YOU'RE UNDER ARREST. >> I'M letting you know I have a gun. >> You have a gun? >> Yes. >> You're going to get him getting shot. >> Dude, I didn't do nothing wrong. >> 411 male is 21. >> Well, I didn't do nothing wrong. I was letting my mom know. I was letting my mom >> Give me your other arm. >> Yep. I was letting my mom know. >> Oh, really? >> [laughter] >> Stand up. Stand up. >> Dude, come on now. >> I'm helping you. I'm helping you. Stand up. >> Don't send me to jail. >> You're being disorderly. You're drunk and you're you're causing that guy to stop in the middle of the road. >> Please, don't don't >> You've already crossed that line. >> What? What? Where are my keys? >> You're drunk and you have a gun on you. >> Yes. >> Step over here. You're also going to be charged with weapons while intoxicated. >> Weapons while intoxicated. Weapons while intoxicated. >> Have a seat. 4911 on that male for DOC and also weapons while intoxicated. >> No, they take me to the hospital. Take me to the hospital. I'm not going back. I'm not going with >> I understand that, but you need to think you need to calm >> Whatever you want to do, Grandma. >> Take a breath. >> I'm not going back. >> I'm not going >> I'm not going back. >> I understand that. >> I guess you said >> The thing is she's she's made >> call it >> I So, she needs to go to the hospital. >> Okay. >> We'll go to the hospital. >> Let's go. >> We'll go to the hospital. >> Come on, just come with me. >> I have to write you something to bring to the hospital. >> We'll go to the hospital. >> Come on, just go with them. >> Come on. >> Get up. >> That might be the best. >> Get up. >> How about this? You go with Grandma to the hospital. And then she's agreeing for you to go with >> With me. >> Yeah. >> Jeffrey Stewart, 38, was arrested and charged with resisting arrest, disorderly conduct, using weapons while intoxicated, having weapons under disability. So, what do you think? Did deputies show enough patience before making the [music] arrest, or did Stewart's actions leave them with no other choice?
