On July 26th, 2023, police were called to a Texas roadhouse after a man from California reported someone had just used his credit card for an order at the restaurant. When officers arrived, they found the suspect already waiting to pick up the food, but things quickly took an unexpected turn. Let's see what happened next. >> All right. He said, "Hey, somebody just used my credit card at your location. Um, this is the order that was used. I'll be able to look at what we like the orders that we had come in and just like put two and two together." >> Okay. Did he give you his name or anything like that? >> No, I didn't get any information from him other than just, okay, I'm going to call the police. >> Okay. >> And then and then when I went out, so like guess whenever they use like online ordering system, they get like a print out like with their name on it. So, he's got on his phone right now a receipt from us with the name of Wing Fu, which I'm assuming is the actual person because when I talk to him, he doesn't have an Asian. Um, so I'm assuming that that's who it actually is, but when I went to the car and just like, "Oh, hey, what was the name for order?" He couldn't tell the name right away and he had to like look it up on the thing and be like, "Oh, my name's Frank." And then showed me that that was what the name was. That was on the order. >> Okay. So I'm assuming that >> and it was like holding out for that like maybe the person that showed up was like a family member and he didn't know that they were like using his credit card or something like that but I wouldn't wait for him like here to call you guys. >> Are you going to be here while my only request is that I've got guests currently I think in my other to go spots out there and one of them just got their food. It seemed like you only like I ain't even >> The suspect was later identified and charged with fraudulent use of a credit card after investigators confirmed the purchase was unauthorized. Financial hardship may be real, but it never justifies stealing from others.
