According to the police report, Jermaine refused to get out of the patrol vehicle to be processed, and force was used to remove him from the back of the patrol car. While being booked, Jermaine refused to remain seated on the bench and approached officers. He was forced back to his seat and was subsequently secured to the bench. It was decided he would be booked later once he calmed down. Prior to placing him in a cell for a cooling period, Jermaine also refused to remove his hoodie as required by most correctional facilities. Jermaine was charged with possession of methamphetamine, three counts of RNO, and one count of operating a motor vehicle without securities. The charges were also enhanced with a habitual offender fourth offense notice. Due to three other pending criminal cases, Jermaine's bond was set at $75,000, and the cases were all merged in court. For this incident, Jermaine pleaded no contest. In exchange, one count of RNO and operating a motor vehicle without securities charges were dismissed. Additionally, the habitual offender enhancement was removed. For all other cases, all charges were dismissed except for one count of RNO and one count of writing a non-sufficient funds check. Ultimately, Jermaine was sentenced to 2 to 20 years in the Michigan Department of Corrections with credit for 204 days time served. His earliest release date is October 6th, 2026 with the sentence technically allowing him to serve until 2044. He was also given $384 in fines and court costs. >> [music]
