Hello. >> Yeah, just wanting uh inquiring what we're doing. >> Um just uh filming >> for >> Sorry, >> specifically for >> uh just for myself. Yeah. >> Just wondering what business you got to film. >> Ah, here we go. The classic, why are you filming moment? Legally speaking, this is where things get interesting. If you're on public property, you're allowed to record anything visible from that spot. >> Yes, even industrial sites where you live. >> But what would you do if someone came up to you with a camera? >> Would you confront them or just walk away? >> Let me know below. >> The premises. >> Uh, do you mind telling me where you live? >> Uh, no. I'm the plant manager for the site here. >> That's a bit strange though, is it? asking a member of public. >> No, I just Well, obviously from a manufacturing facility and there's somebody that's filming our premises, I would just obviously got a query as to why that would be. >> I won't worry about it, buddy. You just uh you're probably better off just going about your own business really cuz like I say, it's um >> you can see it from the public, can't you? >> Oh, yeah. No, I realize around >> my guy just dropped that like he's a local celebrity. You can almost feel the confidence radiate off him. But notice how he's keeping things light and polite. A perfect way to stay in control without escalating to worry about. >> I just wondered if there was anything that >> No, no, no to worry about it like that, buddy. Just like just doing a bit of photography in the area and Yeah. >> Okay. Can I Can I possibly take your name? >> You can take you can take my details. No problem with that. >> Yeah. People call me Scott. >> Okay. And And you're local to here. You live >> Yeah. I'm well known around here, right? >> Okay. You I'm surprised you haven't heard of me. >> No, no, no, no. I'm just I'm just wondering why why you taking pictures of our premises. That's all. >> No, mate. My name My name's Scott Cheg and um like I say, I'm well known in area like So, >> yeah. U massive photographer really. So, >> no, that's fine. >> I'm not [laughter] trying to stop you doing it. >> Now, here's the gray area. >> Yeah, the plant manager's concern makes sense and industrial confidentiality. >> [laughter] >> But remember, being suspicious isn't the same as being illegal. This kind of moment tests how much both sides actually know about their rights. >> But clearly, when someone comes and films, you know, our premises, we sort of raise a question mark as to why somebody would want to do that. >> Yeah. I know you've you've come out very polite and um yeah rather than beating around the bush basically anything I can see on the public off the public road whether or not it be your site from here >> I can film so it's >> Oh yeah I mean I realize you're not breaking any law it's just with us being obviously a manufacturing site and um we've obviously got an interest when people come and >> point the camera at the site and film the building and etc etc. So I wondered if there was any relevance >> other than from a personal perspective. >> None whatsoever, buddy. It's just a shame you haven't got a few trucks coming in and out. It's not busy and have got a few decent shots there. But >> I mean from a from a personal perspective, is that is that your hobby? Do you do you film? >> Oh, no. You're asking a few questions. [laughter] >> Yeah. All sorts of stuff. >> And what's your name anyway, mate? >> My name is Chris. Chris. Chris. >> Nice to meet you, Chris. >> Yeah. No, there's like I say, I've got many hobbies. This is one of them. >> Okay. And um yeah, so >> I mean I I think from a you know from a competitor's perspective whether a competitor comes and films our premises that's clearly you know something that we wouldn't want to do but if it's just you know for personal use and um a hobby is something >> well that's the thing I couldn't really tell you if I'm working on behalf of a competitor either. So because I'm sworn into secret secrecy with that respect like so it's like I say just doing doing a bit simple photography and uh yeah that's it really. So, so you're not you're not working on behalf of any competitor then? >> Like I said, I won't I won't be able to disclose that information if I was really, but like I say, it's just straight straightforward bits of photography as as we see like and uh yeah, >> I'll tell you I'll tell you a funny story while we're here actually. >> Are we are we being filmed now? >> Um yeah, my camera's rolling. Yeah. Basically, >> I'm glad I've been polite then, but >> No. Do you mind turning it off while we speak then? >> Well, no. You've got the freedom to walk away if you want to. >> I'll go the other side of your camera then. That's no problem. >> Yeah. Um >> if the sound's on, that's okay. >> There was a fellow in the building trade and um he needed the toilet badly like and he said to the fell, he says, >> "And just like that, the encounter ends with a handshake and some awkward small talk. >> No laws broken, no drama, just another day in the world of public audits. >> But here's a question. Should companies adapt to public photography culture or keep treating it as a potential threat?" Food for thought. can we find a toilet? And he says, "Yeah, there's not one on site." So anyway, he says, "Well, I'm bursting for a number two." So fell says to him, "Go and get some of that ice over that rock will use that like." And you can imagine how it'd have been all night. [laughter] But yeah, weren't funny for the fella. >> Yeah, he's got a unique stroll to him, that fell, ain't he? >> Yeah. >> You know, just how he walks across that zebra crossing light. >> I Okay, we'll leave it there for now then. All right. No problem. >> All right, buddy. You have a nice day, Chris. You as well. >> Take care, buddy. >> [laughter] >> What are they on about competitors, man? It's brilliant, isn't it? Competitors, eh? What are they going to be doing standing outside a gate? Yeah. So, we're just adjacent to the roundabout here and um
