Yes, sir. >> The reason I stopped you is you're 67 mph posted to the mids 50 on Baglia. So, you're 17 over. >> Okay. I didn't know that. >> Yeah. >> A love trip to Mexico turned into a license problem. After stopping the driver, it became clear that romance doesn't get you far when your paperwork isn't in order. >> Right there. You were going right and then you banked hard left. >> I'm I'm going to Mexico, sir. >> Oh, >> yeah. I'm going to see my girlfriend. >> You boys like Mexico? [laughter] Well, it's it's one of those things that >> You almost made it, man. Almost made it without getting pulled over. >> I mean, from here it's technically shorter going this way and I kind of, you know, switch it up every now and then. >> Is suspended as a result of your previous DUI. So, it is currently in a suspended status. I don't I I don't I don't know anything about it, but M or MVD right now currently has your driver's license status as not eligible and suspended as a result of your uh extreme DUI. So, and I don't like I said, I don't I don't know how or why that happened, but >> yeah, I thought I I I thought I had the restricted license with the >> I don't know. I don't know. I I Cuz your license doesn't say anything about being restricted on it. There's no restrictions on it. There's no nothing. simply just says not eligible, which is the verbiage for it being suspended. So, that's something between you and MBD. That's not not nothing I can change here on the side of the road. >> Okay. Sure. Sure. Okay. >> That's that's good. So, um first citation is for driving while your license is suspended, canceled, or revoked. And then the original speed violation for your 67 mph and a posted 50 for your 17 over. Pagia and Trek is the intersection down there right by where that speed trailer is that you went by that said you were going over the speed limit. That one. Um, it's right there. That's where where I turned around. >> You're a nice guy. >> Hey, man. It's no need [laughter] to be mean. >> Any idea why I might have stopped you? >> No. >> Were you fiddling with something or distracted while you were driving? Cuz you were literally driving with both of your tires in the bike lane since Skyline. >> Turns out she wasn't in the road. She was in the bike lane. The driver didn't realize she'd been drifting with both tires in the bike lane and had a suspended plate due to missing insurance documentation. was figuring that I might just get a midday drunk. So, >> sorry about that. >> No, that's okay. I just >> easier. I don't know what it was. >> Trying to trying to figure it out. All right. Had anything to drink today? >> No. Smoke any marijuana or anything? Okay. All right. You have registration paperwork and current proof insurance for your vehicle? >> Um, insurance is on my >> Oh, yeah. Yeah, we do that. That's a thing we do. >> Oh, your plates are suspended. >> My plates? >> Hm. >> Why are my plates suspended? No. Something between you and MBD. But this is a Toyota RAV 4, right? >> Yeah. I just got it. Is it suspended or like processing? >> No, suspended. That's the word they used. I'll look into it a little bit more once I get in there. Okay. Well, that expired in August. So, >> Oh, it's current. I don't have the paperwork paperwork. I would have to like look up the user password and stuff. Do you have a second? I I have all the time in the world. It just that you you are it's required that that you be able to provide it. Um then if you don't, I'm going to take your plate because that's what Arizona law says that I have to do. >> Interesting. >> Mhm. Well, if you think about it, the >> one of one of the reasons that probably the mo the most frequent reason that people have their plate suspended is for lack of mandatory insurance. Um, so pretty much what MBD does is they will send you a letter in the mail that says, "Hey, you have to prove to us that you have ID within that you have insurance within 14 days. If you don't do that, you don't respond to that letter at all." What they do is they suspend your plate. And then if you don't have current insurance, we take your plate and then where do you go for a plate? MBD. And then they mandate that you show them insurance before they issue you a new plate. So that's kind of that's their workound is they're like, "Well, this is what we're going to do. we're gonna make you come to us and by doing that we will take your plate. So that's that's how all of that works. That's the how and the why behind it. >> No, that makes sense. >> Yeah, it's pretty it's it's a it's a logical pretty linear. No, no, we didn't. You're displaying uh plates suspended for financial responsibility and not having current proof financial responsibility. Um that is what your plates are suspended for is for for not showing. So somewhere in there MBD sent you something and you went n I'll take care of that later. >> Yeah, >> now now is the later. So, I'm not going to take your plate. Um, under the good faith, under the good faith that you're going to have to take care of it because you're going to have to show the court proof of it. So, I'm pretty sure that you're going to do that. So, I don't need to take your plate and make things even more difficult for you than they already are. >> Get it done as quick as you can. Then you don't have to worry about anything. >> I appreciate you. >> Of course. Thank you so much. >> Hi, I'm Deputy Slope. I work for the Panel County Sheriff Service Traffic Unit. >> Penal County uh traffic uh unit here. So, please make a call. Uh uh have a driver's license, registration, current proof insurance for your vehicle. >> Yeah. Hold on one second, please. >> Yes. I'm sorry. Your uh deputy >> slope deputy slope and now county sheriff's office. >> Two diplomats show up and he just tries to make sense of it. The driver and his companion presented IDs from a fictional nation and demanded diplomatic immunity. >> I didn't recognize the diplomat played from slow jamistan. >> Well, my friend, uh that is the point. You know, diplomatic vehicles exempt. You can >> Yes, I'm aware. I I had never heard of slow jamist stand. So I >> you know >> do you have do you have any sort of ID so I know who I'm talking to? >> Yes, absolutely. >> Uh license uh for you? >> That's everything for you. Yes, >> that's a >> it's a driver's license federal ID also driver's license >> the United territories of the sovereign nation of the people's republic of Slojan. >> Correct. To look around it's also a fishing license. It's all in one. Uh it's a very uh uh unbureaucratic um uh system unlike your is in America. >> Uh it is Penal County. Yes. >> Panel County. That is correct. >> Uh the policeman bowl where you do the events and activities. >> Yes. Yes, of course. >> I'd like to make a small donation if I could. >> Uh you know in fact >> um that we can't take those. Is that you on that money? >> I'm the sultan. Yes. >> You're the >> lifetime sultan. >> You have your own money? >> Of course. Yes. >> Okay. Um >> can I go? >> Let me Can you hold on? Let me let me see if I can get someone to I'll be back. Don't go anywhere. >> Okay. >> Stay here. Find a slow [clears throat] jamist stand anywhere. Uh >> they Google. >> I don't think they Google. >> Where Google? >> I We don't They don't Google. They have OTHER WELL, Border Patrol's here, so they're going to help me out here. So, they can't seem to perfect cuz maybe he'll be able to help me. Hold on one second. So, how are you? How you doing my friend? >> What? >> Sit back in there for one second. Just sit. Just sit back. I'm going to talk to you next. >> Okay, my friend. I think you understand. This is the assertant that you have stopped. So, I'm not going to go back to my vehicle at this point. >> But I'm But you're in the United States. >> If you're in Slojaman, >> that is correct. That is Slojaman. >> I if we were there, I would go back. Then I would go back to my car. But since you're in the United States, you go back to your car. >> I understand. >> Let's do that. >> But right now, just make it fun. >> We'll hang out. Let me hang out with him first. I can only talk to one >> slow jamistani at a time. >> I I want to become I want to become I just want to say that you have stopped the slow the sultan of slow jamistan. This is a royalty here my friend. I do not know that you know who you have stopped. I understand. >> I understand that. >> Okay. >> But this is the sultan. >> Thank you. Thank you. >> Okay. Just sit back in there. I know. Just sit back in there just for a second. >> Okay. My friend just >> I just want to have a calm conversation. That is all. Thanks for the backup. Of course not. I apologize about this. >> Who is that? >> Uh chief uh my chief of immigration border patrol um from also on the mission today. >> We may have to find out what is going on and get this police officer's name from the country of the USA. >> Deputy Snoops. Deputy Paul Schnops is his name. He's respectful so far. >> Saw my name wrong. Deputy Sloop. Okay. Step on out. Just come out here for a second. Just if you could just just step out. No, just run up all of all of this stuff. Hop on out here. Do you have any weapons on you? Uh, >> Super Soaker in the back in the >> No, Super Soaker. Sir, what is your last name? That's a slope. Slope. You know you're going down a a slippery slope right now. >> It's like a welloiled Frank. I understand that. Come on over here. All right, let's u That's a That's my Thank you. So, this this whole thing seems a little weird. So, this is what we're going to do. We're just going to I can't quite figure out who you are. So, do me a favor. Put your hands right behind your back. Just put your hands behind your back. It's okay. It's okay. Here we go. Just like that. What we're going to do is I'm just going to detain you. You've been detained for failing to produce evidence of identity. Okay? Because I I can't figure out who you are. And his excellency is your first name isn't coming back. So, I just want you to hang tight. We're going to figure this out. Okay. >> I can take what? >> Uh, you know what? Would I see your driver's license, please? All right. Well, I'm Deputy Slope. I work for the Pan County Sheriff's Office traffic unit. Reason I stopped you is your registration expired in March and we're now in November. >> The moment the breath test exposes everything. The driver confidently denied having anything to drink, but the breath test told a completely different story, turning a simple stop into a clear-cut DUI case. >> All right. So, whose car is this? >> So, this is uh uh he's basically my roommate. Um and actually, we're so going to the mall right here along the corner. Uh-huh. Yeah. What's with you, Holly? >> Um, so just going to swap out uh vehicles. Um I apologize. The uh the Yeah, I should have noticed that, but um so had anything to drink today? Any alcohol? No. >> Nothing at all? No. Okay. Um so >> I thought I smelled it coming out of your car. >> Uh no. But if you need anything from me, any uh pictures? >> Yeah. Registration. Yeah. See that little red light right there? I just want you to watch that with your eyes and your eyes only. Don't move your head at all. Nope. Don't move your head at all. Right there. Just look right there. Just don't move your head. Just your eyes. >> No, don't move. So, you're Don't move your head like head like this. Like my head's not moving. Your head's not moving. I want you to follow it with your eyes like this. Keep your head straight at right there. Stop moving your head. So, super easy. Promise. Promise this is easy. There we go. Deep breath and blow. Blow. Blow. Blow. Blow. Blow. Blow. Blow. Blow. Blow. Blow. Blow. Blow. Okay. So, remember when I was like, "Hey, man. I'm smelling alcohol. I see alcohol. Do you have anything to drink?" And you were like, "No, I haven't had anything to drink." Remember when we had that conversation? >> Yes. Remember when you knowingly lied to me? Do you remember when you did that also? Okay, put your hands right back. Right now, you're under arrest for DIY. >> It's in the car. It's >> 16. I have 110 619. Oh, >> let's make you not blind. There we go. Take a hat. Put that on there. Give you a little Give you a little hatty look. There we go. Now you got something to block the sun. >> I have dinner plans. Um >> might make or might not. >> Correct. Um but um my phone there uh if I can just make a call. >> Yeah, I'll I'll I'll uh I'll bring your phone with you. Um, can I do that right now? No, we'll do it once we get there. So, what we're going to do is we'll walk right over here. >> See your driver's license? >> I don't have it on me. It's right out up here at the house. So, >> okay. You have motorcycle endorsement on it. >> When you think you're riding an ebike, but it's basically a motorcycle. The driver believed he was on a simple ebike, but state law classified it as a motorcycle requiring permits, insurance, and safety gear. >> What uh what's the rating on it? >> Like the class? >> Mhm. >> I'm actually not sure. >> Not sure. Well, it's it's got to be on there somewhere on >> the street. I was just >> Oh, I just changed the >> You did today. And the first time I saw you, you were 25 in the 15 mph school zone. You don't have any eye protection on. So that's So you were 10 over in the school zone right up over there on on Kenworthy. >> Maybe this is miscalated. I It was 15 on there. >> Oh yeah, you were absolutely not 15. >> So I mean all sorts of violations on this. These are considered motorcycles. >> They are. So, you need everything you need to operate a motorcycle, including eye protection, which was the second thing that I saw on you. First, I saw your speed and I was like, "Holy cow, that guy's 10 mph over and I was like, he doesn't even have any eye protection." And then you just kind of went. So, um, so what I did was to keep this half on the learning curve. You're going to get some citations cuz you did a whole bunch of stuff wrong. Um, so school zone speed excess 15. Like I said, I got you 25 and a 15, so you're 10 over. Um, improper helmet/ eye protection/ windshield. Um, all of those fall the verbiage in Arizona state law is all the same that you need something that protects your eyes. Um, obviously a be a fly, a mosquito flies in your eye, you're going to dump this bike. Um, and then you don't have any head protection on or anything like that. And then you don't have any sort of motorcycle permit. If you had a motorcycle permit, you would know about that. So those things, you're also required to have registration on this. You're required to have rearview mirrors on this. You're required to have insurance on this. It is a >> mirror. >> It is a motorcycle. So, you need you need all of those all of those things. Go through a motorcycle school. Um, they'll teach you all that. That's that's kind of where you learn all that in this neighborhood. Right. Right down there. Okay. So, I'm well within my right to tow this bike. Um, and if you had done something stupid like tried to outrun me or anything like that, that would be ill advised obviously here in Panal County where we chase people. Um, but if you would have done anything stupid like that, I'd be towing your bike. I'm gonna let you walk this bike home. You live here in the neighborhood. You just walk it down the roads. Obviously, it's not too hot today. So, I'm not going to tow this. And I'm going to give you that benefit of the doubt that you're just going to Yep. that you're just going to fix everything and you're going to be a good human and make all the changes. >> You want to see me on the street again? >> I sure appreciate that. On the street the one stupid time. >> I just I just happen to get you walk this thing home. I appreciate you being cool.
