Pleasantville police responded to a Dollar General in Absacon, New Jersey after reports of an armed man inside the store. When officers arrived, they found 37year-old Jal Witted with a handgun protruding from his pocket. As he exited the store, officers repeatedly commanded him to drop the weapon. Instead, he said two chilling words, "Shoot me." When Witt reached for his gun, five officers opened fire to protect themselves and nearby civilians.
