Most people play racing games to blow off steam, but Tyler decided to bring the game to the real world with deadly consequences. From a 100 mph chase to smashing through a 10- ft concrete wall, this is one of the most chaotic pursuits we've ever covered. But before we dive in, guys, please help me reach 1,000 subscribers. It would mean the world to me and helps me keep bringing you these deep dives. You're watching Body Cam Pulse. Let's break it down. October 15th, 2023, Marian County deputies spotted a vehicle flying out of a gas station. The driver, later identified as Tyler, wasn't just speeding. He was reckless, crossing into oncoming traffic and ignoring every signal in his path. The canine unit was lead on the chase with canine jet ready for action. Officers were hitting speeds of 100 mph just to keep him in sight. Tyler was driving like he had a reset button, but in the real world, the stakes are much higher. 12 standby. Please, sir. >> I got you. >> I know. I know it's bad how it looks. I'm not running my leg. I I face the car so I don't pass the car. I don't want you facing me. >> The chase came to a violent end when Tyler lost control and plowed directly through a massive 10- ft concrete wall. The car was totaled, but Tyler managed to scramble out of the wreckage and bolt into a nearby neighborhood. That's when K9 Jet was released. Despite multiple warnings that the dog would bite, Tyler kept running. Within seconds, Jet had him pinned. The suspect's bravado vanished instantly, replaced by screens for help as the reality of a K-9 takedown set in. >> Always facing me. Whenever you get a chance, I either need my car or somebody grab me a lead. >> I'm so proud of you, buddy. >> You're doing so good, buddy. So proud of you. You got that, man. And then I didn't I was like, "What the is going on, dude? I thought they were trying to chase me or something." Y'all can check my car on me. >> I got you. We just got to make sure. I have a medical condition. Sorry. You bit me on my ass. >> Okay. You can stand here or you can sit down in the car. Those are your only two options right now. >> I I can't sit. I'm going to pass out. Well, I don't want you to pass out and hit the ground, man. >> Listen, y'all. I just want to say I'm sorry. That was And and and the last move was uncalled for. >> Okay. >> I'm sorry, dude. >> No, you're good. >> Good. No. Good dog, too, >> cuz he did his job. >> I'm [ __ ] up, man. I'm soed up right now. Oh, I don't even know what the is. I'm just holding on. >> Going as fast as I can, Esel. Good boy. Good job. >> Good morning. >> Hate to wake you up this way. I guess we had someone go through your backyard. So, I need to get your information if that's okay. >> I heard a crash that was laying there. >> Your fence right back there is all messed up. So, we're going to get your information. We'll try to get that taken care of. Okay. >> Like the >> whole your side. >> What happened? >> I'm sorry. I'm only cuz we have a baby. I'm asking for medical assistance. >> They're coming. Get in the car. I'll drag you in. >> Can Can somebody pull me in from the other side? >> Absolutely. >> Thank you. >> Once in handcuffs, the excuses started pouring out. Tyler claimed he was scared for his life and that he was being robbed at the gas station. He tried to play the victim, crying about his leg and claiming he didn't know it was the police behind him. It's a common tactic when suspects realize the legal walls are closing in, they try to rewrite the story. But a 100m hour chase and a destroyed concrete wall tell a very different story than I was just scared. >> Thank you. >> Hey, hey, hey. >> Hey, sir. Gentle, please. >> Yeah. Yeah. >> Okay. Don't jerk them. >> No. I'm just trying to pull him up. >> You good? >> Yeah. Just a little bit. >> All right. Hey, give me give >> I can't I can't sit on this thing. >> But you need to wiggle with me. Okay. >> I can't put pressure on it. It hurts too much. Please >> put pressure on what? What do you say? >> My leg. >> Got stop. >> Huh? >> I got sticks. >> Oh, you're the one here. >> Yeah. >> I got stops. >> Nice. I heard someone got good stops. I didn't know who was. I've been trying to get some for a while now. >> Sit up, my man. >> Wait, sir. When's the paramedics coming? >> They'll be here as soon as they get here. >> I just got ripped open. Please. I understand. I just [ __ ] up. Please, I feel like I'm going to die. I can't breathe. >> Why can't you breathe? >> I need fresh air. Can I just stay like this? I'll just stay like this. I won't say about >> uh But you're not understanding. It's pressure on my >> What's your name? >> I'm seeing pulses. >> What's your name? >> Stop. Don't do that. >> You got to sit up. >> Don't do that. >> I'm not doing [ __ ] I'm trying. >> Sit up. We're going to let them take over as soon as we get over here. All right. >> Not not for like criminal purposes, but for your health purposes. Did you take any drugs or anything? >> Like prior to this happening, >> go to the other side. He's in this car right here. Yeah. >> Was that Yes or no? >> How are you, sir? >> I'm good. Whose car is back there? >> That's my car. >> Can you do me a huge favor? >> Yes, I can go to the store and buy me two cans of Longhorn Wintergreen Longhai. >> I'm not 21. Okay, >> so 5429 and valid. Just don't get it. >> Search that car. >> You guys grab his legs. >> Ready? >> Yep. >> Is it okay? He ran from us and got him first. I got him. >> Wait a minute. >> What's happening? >> What am I shaking like? 29 >> because you're faking it. >> Call the ambulance. Go with them. >> Yes, sir. >> Were you involved >> with a pursuit? >> Yes, sir. >> You were in the pursuit? >> I I was behind a sergeant, but I wasn't directly involved. No. >> Bro, >> were you in the pursuit? >> No. >> Okay. >> No. >> Follow that to the ambulance, please. >> It's not a hard question. Were you in the pursuit? >> Yes, sir. >> Oh my god. You got one? >> You just totaled the car. >> God, >> what the heck is this? I guess it's has a leaf on it. >> Yes, sir. >> Good morning. >> Good morning. >> How are you? >> I guess it I bring you a gift. >> I guess it could be worse. >> Hi. >> Did he live? >> Yeah, he lived. >> Got him. >> Yeah. >> Is he around here? >> No. Good thing probably. Do you know who he is? >> What happened? Uh deputy tried to stop him and he led us on a high-speed trace over 100 milesPH. >> Let me talk to my wife. The car is totaled, I'm guessing. >> Uh yeah, I would say so. >> Done. Airbags, everything. >> Oh yeah, >> everything. Yeah, he he drove through a 10ft wall, concrete wall. Who are you? >> Uh my name is >> We are the owners of the car. >> How'd you find out about this? >> Because he called himself. He had our car. He was like, I took the car. He was at our house. We all went to sleep. He said, "I took the car and I need help." And we were like, "What?" And then the phone just shut off freaking morning. >> Did he have Did he have permission? I did not give him permission to take him. >> Has he ever used your vehicle before? >> He has. He has. >> Okay. >> Does he live with you? >> No. >> Is it just your friend? >> My fault. >> You want to know? Is he your brother? >> He's like my brother. >> Okay. >> It's my fault. You know the game? No. Hezi? >> No. >> It's a game that you It's a set of Corser. You got to download it, hack it, you got to play it online. It's a computer game. It's a racing car game. It takes mad work to do. >> Okay. The whole theme behind it is like it puts you on a real highway >> and it's like you just drive fast. You could cut in and out of traffic. You get what I'm saying? But I figure like I already know he got a speeding problem. Hey, come on, play at it. This is a good way to do it. I mean, I got the steering wheel set up. I got the stick shift. I got the pedal to three shifts cuz like that's what I like, you know? how you drive. >> The most shocking part of this case came from the car's owners. They revealed that Tyler had taken the car without permission while they were asleep. Even crazier, they explained that Tyler was obsessed with a racing simulator called Aetto Corsa, where players drive recklessly through traffic. He was trying to replicate a video game on public roads. His friends were devastated. Their $30,000 car was now a pile of scrap metal because Tyler couldn't tell the difference between a screen and reality. >> How was he? He's He's fine. He got dog bit. >> He got He got dog bit. He crashed through a wall >> and he jumped out of the car and ran. >> He's stupid. Here's where the car is being for a piece of >> How much is How much is the car worth? >> 10 12,000. You guys want to press charges on Tyler? Stop. >> I mean, what just what able to do? We won't fix my $30,000 car. >> Well, can I look >> at the damage? >> Yeah. >> Yeah, absolutely. Your husband's saying 30,000. You're saying 122,000? >> When we bought the car, it was 30,000. >> Okay. >> Don't even ask him about his Mercedes cuz that thing's probably worth $5,000 and he'll tell you it's still worth 160. >> He's a man. Of course he's going to tell me. >> He will still tell you. Dude, do you still need this deal? >> Thank you. Huh? >> Five bucks. >> Five. I got a Snickers. >> You talking my language. >> Tyler's game earned him a very real sentence. two years in county jail followed by 10 years in state prison. He traded a steering wheel for a prison cell. If you enjoyed this breakdown, don't forget to subscribe and help us hit that 1K goal. Let me know in the comments. Do you think 12 years is a fair sentence for this level of recklessness? Thanks for watching Body Cam Pulse. Stay safe.
