Stolen van, a police chase, stop sticks on the roadway. Let's go. >> I'm trying. On June 30th, 2023 in Palm Coast, Florida, deputies were alerted to a stolen vehicle taken overnight with help from Flaggler County's Realtime Crime Center. The suspects, later identified as Nathan Ellison and Veronica Brady of Jacksonville, were quickly tracked down. What happened next turned a routine stolen vehicle call into a dangerous pursuit. Car was stolen >> happened last night. >> Yes. Okay. I >> just got cigarettes. >> Huh? >> When deputies attempted to stop the stolen van, Ellison refused to pull over, a pursuit began near Palm Coast Parkway, and deputies coordinated to contain the suspects. Stop sticks were deployed, shredding the van's tires and forcing the vehicle into a Dunkin Donuts parking lot. Moments later, Ellison bailed from the driver's seat and ran on foot. He didn't get far. Deputies were waiting. Hey [Applause] murder going off. Ellison was arrested on charges of grand theft of a motor vehicle, resisting without violence, and fleeing with disregard for safety. He was also wanted in Jacksonville for fraud with bond set at $43,03. Brady, the passenger, was charged with grand theft of a motor vehicle and possession of burglary tools. Her bond set at $5,000. Both were booked into the Flaggler County Jail. Sheriff Rick Staley called them a fugitive and poison pedalling couple who made the mistake of coming to Flaggler County.
