Today we are diving deep into a tragic and highly controversial case from Findlay, Ohio. On a quiet afternoon in November 2025, police received an emergency call reporting an accidental shooting inside a home. A 35-year-old woman named Sierra Eady claimed she had accidentally shot her 31-year-old girlfriend, Briana Gonzalez, in the head while they were cleaning the bedroom. What began as a reported accident quickly turned into a complex investigation. Police. Please help me. Please help me. Please help. Please help me. Please help ME. PLEASE HELP. I DON'T KNOW. I CAN'T ROLL HER OVER. I NEED TO BEND WHERE IS THE gun at? Police respond to the call. It was just after 2:00 p.m. when officers from the Findlay Police Department arrived at the house on Queenswood Drive. They entered the residence and immediately encountered a chaotic scene. Sierra Eady was standing there, visibly shaken, next to her girlfriend, Briana Gonzalez, who had suffered a single gunshot wound to the head. Officers called for EMS right away and worked quickly to secure the area. You got a gun? POLICE. BRIANA. POLICE. PLEASE HELP ME. PLEASE HELP. PLEASE help me. Please help me. Please First moments with Briana. Briana was rushed to the hospital with life-threatening injuries, but she was later pronounced dead. The officers on scene had to manage a very emotional and unstable situation. Sierra kept repeating that it was an accident. At this point, the priority was to get medical help and make sure the scene was safe. Okay. Magazine is stored in the closet where it was. I didn't Gun is not up here. Get out of here. Get the EMS in here. Go sit over here. Just sit right here, okay? So Okay, here, go first, okay? Moving Sierra to the kitchen. Officers gently guided Sierra away from the bedroom and into the kitchen so they could speak with her. She was crying heavily and appeared to be in shock. They asked her to sit down and take deep breaths. Sierra repeatedly said, "My baby, my baby, oh my god." The officers tried their best to calm her while gathering basic information. Let's go over here, okay? Let's go over here. Let's just go in the kitchen, okay? So, is there anybody else in the house? Okay. Here, go first, okay? Let's have a seat, okay? I understand. Let's Let's go have a seat, okay? I don't want you getting hurt. My baby, my baby, oh my god. Have a seat. Have a seat. Have a seat. Have a seat. Okay. Okay. Take a couple of breaths for me, okay? So, only you two in this house, correct? Okay. Confirming who was in the house. Once Sierra was seated, officers asked if anyone else was inside the house. She confirmed that only she and Breanna were home at the time. They also learned that Sierra had two young children who were due to arrive from school soon. Officers immediately coordinated with a neighbor to keep the children away from the disturbing scene. I'm going on right now, but we got another situation we need to resolve real quick. Your neighbor just told me that you have two small children that are about to show up, is that right? They were going to be home around just before 3:00. Just before 3:00? Okay. Yeah, they will be home around Okay. I told him if he saw them to grab them and just keep them over there for right now so they don't see what the heck's going on over here, okay? Is that all right with you that they stay with him? Okay. Sierra's first explanation of the shooting. Sierra began telling her version of events. She said they were cleaning the bedroom when the accident happened. Her .380 caliber handgun was usually kept unloaded on the top shelf of the closet with the magazine stored separately. She claimed she moved the gun to the bed to make space and it suddenly went off. She kept repeating, "It went off. It went the f off." She insisted the gun should never have fired. Questions about the gun. Officers pressed for more details about the gun. Sierra said she hadn't fired it since she cleaned it in May. She was very careful with it because children lived in the house. She emphasized that the magazine was still on the shelf and that there shouldn't have been a round in the chamber. She appeared genuinely surprised and confused about how the gun discharged. So Briana, how many firearms were in the house? I'm Sierra. I'm Sierra. Sorry. Sorry. Just the one gun. >> Just the one gun? What is that? Is it a 9 mm or a .22 caliber? It's a .380. It's a .380. It's a .380. Okay. I don't get it. What did you do with the thing? I unloaded it this They were in the bedroom cleaning. Uh the She had She said she had it unloaded. Nothing in there. No magazine No magazine in it. Uh she moved it from the top of the dresser down to the bed, right? >> Yeah. Well, it was in the closet on the shelf. In the closet on the shelf and she brought it down and then it went off. And it's It had to have one in the chamber, but it never has I never leave it in there. I'm very careful with that. I don't know if Bri had touched it. >> no No magazine in the No, it's still on the shelf where I keep the gun. So at one point time somehow it sounds like a round got put into the mag in the chamber. >> it when I'm gone or So you're you're moving it down from the bed or from the shelf to the bed? >> Yeah, we're just going to rearrange the stuff. The couple's relationship. During the conversation, Sierra shared that she and Breonna had been together for nearly 3 years. They had talked about getting married and were raising Sierra's two biological children together. She described their relationship as having ups and downs, especially because Breonna had recently dealt with mental health challenges that she referred to as intense spirituality. She usually has to be She's never been one to just I take it to the range. Uh-huh. I'm having a stroke. Oh, my god. Do you have a history of strokes or you just >> I wish I had one cuz it'd be a lot better than this situation. My baby. My baby. And you guys have two kids together or >> No children together. We just raise them together. They're mine. Okay. They're They're yours. Okay. I am so careful with that thing. I can't believe this [ __ ] How the day started. Later, when detectives arrived, they asked Sierra to walk them through the entire day. She said it had started as a good day. She took a shower while Breonna was singing happily in the kitchen. After the shower, they kissed, hugged, and then began cleaning the bedroom together. They even pulled out old handwritten love letters and notes from the closet, memories of their best times together. You What kind of day were you having? >> A good day. Okay. Tell me about the start of the day. What was going on? Got in shower. Okay. I don't know. We started cleaning the room. She was singing while I was in the shower. And then did you immediately get in the shower or did you I did. My hair was disgusting. Okay. I was going to shower yesterday but I had the worst migraine of my life. So you get up first around 10:30, you get in the shower, while you're in the shower she wakes up cuz you can hear her singing out outside. >> was singing. She was in the kitchen. Okay. So she sounds like she was in a good mood? Yeah. Okay. You get out of the shower. What time do you think it is? I don't know. I wasn't in there long. My water heater needs to be replaced. Okay. So let's say less than half an hour you're probably out by 11:00. Yeah, I didn't do anything in there besides shower. Okay. And you know girl showers take longer. Okay. The love letters on the bed. Detectives noticed a large number of handwritten notes and letters spread across the bed. Sierra explained they had taken them out while cleaning. Some were torn from past arguments, but she said they were pulling them out that day as part of organizing. She insisted there was no fight that afternoon and that everything felt peaceful before the shooting. They are a couple, girlfriend and girlfriend. All right. What's what's the story she's giving? Uh they both were in the bedroom cleaning. She's on the one side folding laundry. She took the gun from the shelf in the closet and as she was putting it down it fired. Detective interview begins. Two detectives from the Findlay Police Department introduce themselves and made it clear that Sierra was not under arrest at that moment. They told her she didn't have to speak if she didn't want to. Sierra agreed to talk and once again repeated her story. She was moving the gun, went to set it down, and it accidentally fired while she was holding it. I'm Sierra. I'm Detective Robinson. I'm Detective Speaker. We're both obviously with the Finley Police Department. Um I just want you to know, for one, uh you're not obligated to talk to us if you don't want to. Right now, you're not under arrest. Um but we would like to get an idea of what's going on, what happened. Okay. Are you willing to talk to us about it? Okay. I guess what happened? We were cleaning our room. Okay. We were putting stuff on the shelf up there. Okay. The gun sits up there. So, I keep my gun not ever loaded. The magazine sits next to it. My gun is usually right there. The shoe is in front of it. Okay. I moved the gun. I was going to clear the whole shelf. Sierra's emotional moments. Throughout the interview, Sierra became very emotional. She kept saying, "I should have checked it. I shouldn't have had anything in the chamber." She described the gun as having a hard trigger pull and said she hadn't taken it to the range or fired it since May. She repeatedly expressed disbelief and grief over what had happened to Breonna. The gun sits up there. So, I keep my gun not ever loaded. The magazine sits next to it. My gun is usually right there. The shoe is in front of it. Okay. I moved the gun. I was going to clear the whole shelf. She was amazing. Who's holding her? It was me. I was going to set the gun down. She should have checked it. I should have checked it. I shouldn't have had anything in the chamber because I haven't used it. I didn't shoot it. I haven't shot it. I haven't had to load it for any reason because I haven't I haven't fired it. I cleaned it in May at my last house and I brought it here. Well, to my mom's and then here. Okay. And I I checked it at my mom's cuz my magazine did sit in it, but I didn't load it. Okay. I could have put it on that shelf the first thing. I don't It wouldn't open. I don't know what to It's that. Oh my Questions about possible triggers. Detectives gently asked whether there had been any tension that day or if Breanna might have handled the gun earlier. Sierra maintained that they were in a good mood, kissing and cleaning together. She wondered aloud if Breanna could have loaded the gun at some point when she wasn't home, but she wasn't sure. She also mentioned her own responsibility in not having a proper gun safe. Okay. So, she sounds like she was in a good mood? >> Yeah. Okay. You get out of the shower. What time do you think it is? I wasn't alone. My water heater made your place. Okay. So, let's say less than half an hour. You're probably out by 11:00. >> Yeah, I didn't do anything in there besides shower. Okay. And she girls showers take longer. Okay. My hair is pretty long, so that took a minute. So, what did you do afterwards? You get yourself all prepped up. Put my face cream on my face in my bathroom in my room. Okay. She was in the living room, I think. I don't know if she was in the living room, I think. Somewhere that way here. And then I got dressed. I'm moving things around the room. Okay. I was kissing her. And that was nice. Sierra invokes her right to a lawyer. As the questioning continued, Sierra decided she no longer wanted to answer questions without legal counsel. She politely invoked her right to an attorney and the interview came to an end. Officers respected her decision and continued processing the scene. You do have a choice. But would you be willing to come with us to the police department for an actual proper sit-down interview? What do you need from me? I just want to go over the events of the day. >> reported it. I know it is. I know it is. I can't compel you to. I'm asking if you're willing to. Conclusion and case update.
