WHAT DO YOU DO? >> WE DID THAT FOR 10:37 NORTH OF THE FIELD. THAT'S ALL RIGHT. Just off of highway 37 towards Texarkana. We took a field road off to the right. Yeah, they >> What began as a simple traffic stop on Interstate 57 would soon turn into a dangerous pursuit across rural Arkansas. A black pickup truck with a fictitious license plate catches the attention of an Arkansas State Trooper. But instead of facing a traffic citation, the driver makes a decision that will end in destruction. Over the next several minutes, speeds increase, dirt roads become racetracks, and a desperate attempt to escape law enforcement spirals completely out of control. On the morning of June 1st, 2026, Trooper Russell was conducting traffic enforcement near the 95-mile marker on Interstate 57. While monitoring traffic, he noticed a black pickup truck failing to maintain its lane. As the vehicle passed, the Trooper also observed that the driver wasn't wearing a seatbelt. A traffic stop was initiated, and the truck pulled over near State Highway 37. Initially, everything appeared routine. The driver was identified as Troy Garrett Alexander. A records check quickly revealed additional concerns. Investigators discovered the displayed license plate was fictitious. As Trooper Russell prepared to reapproach the truck, the situation changed instantly. Without warning, the driver put the truck into gear and accelerated away. The pursuit had begun. >> 40 DUDE. WE'RE DOING A 10-34 10-37. DON'T GO DOWN FIELD. That's fine. Just off of highway 37 towards Talking Rock. They took a field road off to the right. Talking Rock. We're going to be on a field road. We're just going to be back north on a field road off of 37. We're going to be east of Talking Rock. We just off the interstate at the 95. We're Looks like we're heading back towards probably 226 224. >> The fleeing pickup leaves the highway and heads onto a network of narrow farm roads. Dust and gravel fill the air as the driver attempts to create distance from the pursuing trooper. Despite the challenging terrain, Trooper Russell remains close behind. The suspect appears familiar with the rural road system and begins making rapid turns through the countryside. The truck continues weaving through multiple county roads. Loose gravel is being thrown into the air, creating hazardous conditions for the pursuing patrol unit. At some point during the chase, debris and rocks strike the state police vehicle. One impact is severe enough to crack the patrol car's windshield, yet the pursuit continues. The suspect continues pushing deeper into the rural road network. Trooper Russell carefully follows while attempting to anticipate the driver's next move. Each turn increases the likelihood of a mistake. The truck is being driven aggressively, and control appears increasingly difficult to maintain. As the pursuit approaches Jackson Road 82, events begin unfolding rapidly. The pickup enters another section of roadway at high speed. The driver appears committed to escaping no matter the risk. Officers remain focused on bringing the situation to a safe conclusion. >> Got it. >> So, I'm going to go to 224 or 482 and see if they come out on the highway. Sounds like a plan. I'm about 41 out. >> Okay, 482 382. >> He's on 80 81 Jackson 81. >> Okay, you're looking at 201 226. Jackson 581 out of work. Okay, I'm about 4 miles from the 95. Let me see if I can go on 95. I think I'm going to take the you know 37 or go on 226 and try to come back down. >> Turning right on the Jackson 82. >> Um, whatever this county road is, it's a hop, skip, and >> Did he go left or right? >> He went right. We're going on the interstate going on asphalt now. Jackson 74, Jackson 74. He's making a left. Turned left just on the other side of the overpass. I believe we're heading back down toward the to the interstate going northbound. Well, I'm almost there on 380. Seems like he's trying to get back on the interstate. Negative, we're on the service road. We're back on dirt now. I don't know what road we're on, probably >> The suspect vehicle suddenly leaves the roadway. What happens next unfolds in seconds. The truck strikes a driveway culvert with tremendous force. The impact launches the vehicle into the air. For a brief moment, the pickup becomes completely airborne. >> Show me YOUR [ __ ] HANDS! DOWN THE GROUND! DOWN THE [ __ ] GROUND! DOWN THE GROUND! DOWN THE [ __ ] GROUND! GET DOWN! GET DOWN! GET DOWN! GET DOWN ON THE GROUND! GET DOWN ON THE GROUND! RIGHT NOW ON YOUR STOMACH! RIGHT DOWN! RIGHT DOWN! >> AFTER TRAVELING several hundred feet, the truck slams into a parked semi-tractor. The collision scatters debris across a wide area. Trooper Russell is unable to avoid all of the wreckage and his patrol vehicle sustains damage while navigating through the crash scene. The pursuit has come to a violent end. With the vehicle disabled, Trooper Russell exits his patrol unit and immediately begins issuing commands. The driver emerges from the wrecked truck and starts walking toward the trooper. Multiple commands are given for him to show his hands and get on the ground. Initially, the suspect complies only partially. Officers continue working to gain full control of the situation. Even after reaching the ground, the suspect repeatedly turns toward the trooper and refuses to follow instructions. Concerned about the suspect's movements and unwillingness to comply, Trooper Russell moves in to secure him. A drive stun deployment from the Taser is used to gain compliance. The tactic works immediately. The suspect places his hands behind his back and is taken into custody. Emergency medical personnel arrive to evaluate the driver following the collision. Considering the violent nature of the collision, injuries are a major concern. The suspect is transported to a local hospital for treatment and further evaluation. Fortunately, the injuries appear less severe than many would expect after such a dramatic wreck. Doctors later determine that the driver suffered only a broken nose during the crash. Investigators also confirm there were no injuries resulting from the taser deployment. Meanwhile, damage assessments reveal thousands of dollars in losses involving state police equipment and private property. What began as a simple traffic stop over lane violations and a seatbelt infraction ended with a destroyed pickup truck, criminal charges, and a trip to the hospital.
