Victim is down. >> The man with a gun wearing the high visibility shirt reportedly fired a warning shot when he noticed the stabbing taking place from the McDonald's drive-thru in attempt to get the suspect to stop. This suspect, 27-year-old Apheni Muhammad, recorded videos of herself ranting about her manager just 2 days before the stabbing and posted them publicly on her Instagram. >> I'm telling you, she's a bully. This isn't funny. She has no respect. And [music] she keeps sending me home early. It's It's not funny. She keeps on like putting negative energy in the air, talking about people, gossiping about people. That going to have to stop. And I caught her a few times making a mistake and she tried to hurry up and play it off. You know, nobody's perfect. It's McDonald's. It happens. I don't snap on people. I don't go in there doing that. I tell her, "No, I make peace. That's what I'm doing. I've been creating peace." So, all that negative energy that she's bringing in there and trying to manipulate it, no, that's going to stop. But to get sent home two days in a row, man, and I came in on my off day to make up my time and she still sends me home early, somebody will have to do something about that. It's [music] not funny. That is going to catch up to her. >> Her manager that she's ranting about was 39-year-old Jennifer Harris, who tragically passed away after being stabbed at least 23 times, according to CBS News. In the moments leading up to the stabbing, McDonald's surveillance footage catches a figure walk in the back of the restaurant with their face covered. The sweatshirt they're wearing bears a striking resemblance to the one Muhammad was wearing when police arrived on scene to take her into custody. In addition, another post on her Instagram shows a hood zipped [music] up to reveal a hockey mask that looks nearly identical to the one in the surveillance footage. According to court records, Muhammad has since been charged with felony first-degree premeditated murder and felony carrying a dangerous weapon with unlawful intent. She's currently being held at the Mcome County Jail on a $25 million bond. While her trial was originally scheduled to begin on September 15th, 2026, it has been rescheduled to November 10th, [music] 2026. She is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law. The victim, Jennifer Harris, leaves behind six children in the wake of her passing. A week after the incident, hundreds of members of the community, including Jennifer's family, gathered at the McDonald's to release balloons in honor and remembrance of Jennifer. The McDonald's franchise owner also appeared and announced the Jennifer Harris Legacy Fund, which will support her children as they grow older.
