Welcome everybody as you join us live on abc7.com and our 247 streaming channels. Chris Christie up in air 7 over a hot pursuit in the Santa Clarita Valley. LAPD hot on the trail of those armed robbery suspects in that sedan right there. Southbound five freeway about to go through the new hall pass weaving across all lanes just getting back on the freeway a couple of minutes ago after taking the five all the way up to the north end of Santa Clarita. This all started in the West San Fernando Valley CHP. West Valley units uh pursuing these suspects onto the freeway, eventually onto the 405 freeway. LAPD Devure Division taking over the pursuit a little while ago. And you can see the extreme speeds here as the driver behind the wheel, pushes the pedal to the metal, trying to evade LAPD at very dangerous speeds. Continuing southbound towards the 514 split coming up on the 14 freeway here. Well, this will merge uh into the San Francisco Pass as we speak. LAPD doing their level best to keep up with these believed to be more than one person inside the vehicle. They are wanted for armed robbery. Got a lot of pavement to play with here at this hour, top of the nine o'clock hour and uh very little traffic to speak of. It starts to jam up a little bit further south as he gets closer to the 405 freeway. But for right now, he's got all six lanes of the five freeway uh as we transition into the San Fernando Valley. LAPD with air assets overhead, ground units not too far behind him, but he has created a little bit of distance between him and those primary units. They are again uh really trying to follow a full pursuit, chasing the suspect down the five freeway his way through Silar. Now he will have pass the 210 freeway. He could either stick with the Five. Uh, bike check. 1 2 3 4 5 5 4 3 2 1. Test test test. Copy. Welcome back. as we uh continue chasing the suspect down the 405 freeway. Now he is now moving over to the right lanes here. Got off the five freeway. Chose to take the 405, but he is weaving across all lanes of the 405 just to dodge the few cars in front of him here trying to create distance and he's doing a decent job. LAPD though still in pursuit. the airship right overhead with the night sun squarely on those armed robbery suspects allegedly uh wanted out of the West Valley. CHP initiating that this pursuit. LAPD taking it over. Uh but they are committed to this pursuit because they believe these are possible gang members inside this vehicle and this uh vehicle apparently associated with uh other crimes. So, we're going to continue as they pursue these suspects down the 405 freeway, further in to the San Fernando Valley, now making their way through Van Eyes as we start to get closer to the 101 freeway. Again, southbound side of the 405 freeway at tripledigit speeds. He is booking Yep. 104. We'll see what happens here. If he continues south into the pulp and a pass, that's going to pose a real issue for us as well as LAPD. Uh the fog is now built into the LA basin. How long has my mic been off? That's crazy. Can you hear me? Female suspect now under arrest. Some smoke coming from under the hood here. and uh additional suspects believed to be inside of that car again. And now you can see smoke emanating from under the hood as they try and extract additional suspects from the vehicle. Uh looks like more smoke coming from inside the vehicle there. Now another suspect coming out of the passenger side. This is the second suspect to step out of the vehicle. Uh the first was a female suspect. Now a man coming out with his hands up behind his and an additional arrest about to take place here appears to be it is unclear if there's anybody else inside right now. A total of two suspects out of the vehicle. Again, California Highway Patrol with suspect proned out there next to the vehicle. This has all come to an end in Sherman Oaks. 405 freeway just south of Ventura Boulevard. Mic check. 1 2 3 4 5 5 4 3 2 1. Test test test. No, >> it was off and then I looked when you said you lost my audio. I looked at it and it was on but I didn't touch it. An arrest team now approaching the vehicle with their guns drawn. Two suspects under arrest now looking for any additional as they call the fire department to come out here and start spraying down this car. You can see smoke coming from the engine compartment there. And it looks like the vehicle may be cleared here in just a second. looking to pop over, open that trunk and make sure there's nobody else inside this car. Again, a wild end as that suspect ramp way too fast, jumped the curb, hit the light pole, and finally came to rest underneath the 405 freeway. Code four, two suspects in custody. And you can see CHP with a large presence at the end of this pursuit.
