I'm in downtown Montgomery found this really neat statue here of a soldier carrying a wounded person and it says rainbow division underneath it which during World War one lost over 600 men just in this regiment [Music] have you ever been awake at night and you hear noises in your home and you don't really know where it's coming from so you get up to take a look well that happened to me last night so I decided I wanted to go on an adventure to find the haunted places here in my city I'm here on the campus of Huntington College and Huntington College may just be Montgomery's most famous haunted place if you watched my big fish filming locations video you will recognize this building here Sandra was hanging out of that window right there and you and McGregor was saying I love you Sandra and I will marry you and also right above this building was the skywriting that said I love Sandra but that's not why we're here today students encounter a woman in a victorian-era dress out here on the greens usually late in the evening but the big story is this building right here behind me Pratt handsome dorms where people sleep a long time ago not long after this university was founded there was a student here she was bullied she was made fun of and she always wore red always she stayed in this room right here all the time on this upper floor students would hear doors slamming footsteps doors would not open they would slam behind people they would see shadows going in and out passing through the walls it scared to death out of the people up there once a year in August on the day that she died you can come out here and see a red light in that window no one knows where it's coming from if you go into that room from the inside you can't see it then you come out here on the outside and you can see it almost like it's a candle in the window they have since closed that floor off you can get up there people don't live up there anymore because of the haunting this is wind Creek Casino it was built on top of an old Confederate cemetery now it's open 24 hours and at nighttime it's said to become alive machines play by themselves chairs move by those theirselves objects pick up and move clear across the room without any human interaction I wonder what it sounds like if a ghost hits a jackpot another haunted building from the early 19th century is this building here it's called Lucas tavern it's part of a collection of old buildings from that time period called old Alabama town here in Montgomery when you think of a tavern you think of a place that goes sit down and drink but back in those days the tavern was a hotel now people they would come stable their horses get a hot meal and have a bed to lay on during the Civil War Lucas tavern played host to soldiers fighting in the war today employees or even patrons who are here late at night say they hear footsteps they can hear what sounds like horses walking the sheets on the beds become unmade by themselves the placings they have staged in the dining area will move by themselves a lot of neat things go on inside this house when the Sun go [Music] this behind me where the fence is and everything on the other side of it that's Maxwell Air Force Base here in Montgomery Alabama this building right here is building 1433 it's probably the most haunted building in Montgomery but for many many many years and here he presents was filmed lieutenants would be awakened in their beds their beds would be soaked in river water they say shadows moved through the halls and they get a burnt electrical smell all the time on the second floor all kind of electrical phenomena as far as lights flickering those kind of things have been reported as well they say that the ghosts are Confederate soldiers there's no way to really know there's the military's finally closed off building 14 33 this stretch of road right here is said to be the most haunted in Montgomery said that a couple hundred yards back this way many years ago a satanic cult had an area they use for rituals they murdered quite a few human beings out there now of course the area where the the cult sacrificed the people has grown over now it's been a long time since it happened but at all times of the night it said people were driving down the road will see a male or a female walking they look like they're in torn clothing and as they get past them they have no face there's nothing there at other times it said that people can see lights coming from this swampy area over here or what looks like a fire in the background a lot of strange things happen right here on this stretch of road [Music] the most famous of all the haunted buildings here in Montgomery is the state of Alabama capital the capital is said to be haunted by one spirit a woman who is dressed and Civil War era closing I have actually had a family member who has had an experience with this moment my aunt was going up an elevator and felt like sub rushing up beside her in the elevator yet no one was there she was an elevator by herself a lot of people forget that Montgomery Alabama was was the capital of the Confederacy in fact the first White House of the Confederacy is here in Montgomery we will take a look at it another day Jefferson Davis was inaugurated right there on the Capitol Steps one of the less known places on this list is this building right here behind me this is the Steiner lob man building it was developed in 1891 but what makes it so unique is right here on the top of it is a casket a statue of the goddess Athena and there's an endpoint and as if this casket right here wasn't strange enough people report feeling like someone's brushed up against them and items moving across the room all by themselves no one knows what's in the casket and Lewis Steiner and Nathan lawmen die without ever telling anyone who was inside the casket on top of the building [Music] [Music] [Music] that's it we made it to the end of our most famous hauntings here in Montgomery now you have to ask yourself do you believe in ghosts I've made it over to the quads house and we're gonna go in and see them for a few minutes but I'm gonna go ahead and end this video now thank you all for watching I'll see you tomorrow [Music] [Music]
