thank you very much for attending I'd like to just explain the events that transpired in early April involving three taxi cab robberies that occurred on the north side of Milwaukee as well as on the south side of Milwaukee on April 3rd in the late morning hours and afternoon hours we experienced two armed robberies involving a male black suspect who possessed a knife these two offenses occurred on the north side of Milwaukee on April 6th we experienced a similar robbery on the south side of Milwaukee with a male black individual also armed with a knife in all three robberies we developed information in regards to the suspect description and phone number ultimately with the use of the surveillance camera system that was deployed in the taxi cabs we were able to retrieve a surveillance video of the suspect which was of excellent quality officers Rich Litwin and Steve ster worked hand inand with the criminal investigation Bureau and with their diligent work were able to develop a potential suspect and address ultimately on April 8th these officers along with other members of the Milwaukee Police Department responded to the suspect address and he was taken into custody on that date detective Tracy Becker who was assigned to the criminal investigation Bureau conducted an in-depth interrogation of the suspect he ultimately confessed to all three armed defenses and implicated two other co-actors which were ultimately arrested the male black suspect that um committed the offense was charged in the District Attorney's office with three counts of armed robbery at this time I'd like to uh present officers Rich Litwin and Steven ster in regards to their investigation uh the drivers are all fathers Brothers Sons out here making a living so I guess we gave it a little extra effort the video cameras installed by American United Cab are are of such high resolution it's it's almost shocking we responded at the suspect's house uh where we were met by his mother who did cooperate with us in that and we ultimately took uh Mr Jackson into custody without incident on behalf of American United and all its drivers we'd like to thank the Milwaukee Police Department in solving these rasher crimes because like he said there's been three or four of them and they always threatening the life lately so if they think they're going to get in the cab and tear the camera out of the car it's too late we have already got your video and we've already got you so thank you very much officers did a a great job we spent about a million dollars in new computers and putting this camera system in the car we purchased them in October and they first came in I want to say the end of February and uh as we're replacing the cabs they're in there so they'll be in every vehicle within the next month or so they'll all have them in there the minute that you open the car door it takes your picture it takes a picture while you're in the car it gives us voice activation of the video so anything that you happen to say or threaten the life of the cab driver is recorded So it's the it's the most advanced system that there is out there [Music] today
