[Music] today we're in South Alabama as a matter of fact we're as far south as you can go in Alabama today I'm in floor alwah Alabama is it's named floor outlaw because it's the Florida and Alabama line it's where they meet the first thing that I've noticed once I got here is the Ducks they hang out in the water they come right up to you without any problems I guess they want food if you watch MTV you know that they have a new show called flora Bama shore and they say you know it's right on the Alabama Florida line but it's not they took their name from a restaurant in Pensacola called flora Bama that's really popular it's the flow of flora Bama oyster and seafood boar and because of their popularity MTV used their name to I guess try to help Cilla people will say hey I've heard of that before and watch it but where where their TV show has said is that in Panama City which is nowhere close to here it's in Florida and it's quite a long ways away from the Florida Alabama line again they just picked the name to try to help sell you on the TV show right here is floor alle and all the way down here is Panama City Beach in fact my wife is kind of fond of the show but like I said it's in Panama City Beach Florida not anywhere near the Florida Alabama blonde they have this really nice pier walk out here and check it out one thing that I do notice is this water is really clear this is the bottom of the lake that we're looking at through the water [Music] yes they haven't let people pollute it yet I am NOT at the ocean at a beach this is Lake Jackson which the town the city of floral ax is based around this lake so this lake sits right in the center of floral Alabama and it has everything that you might think you know of a city park there's areas to eat with grills playgrounds here's a merry-go-round I haven't seen one of those in a long time [Music] you put in Montgomery when I was a child they got rid of all the merry-go-rounds because of so many people getting hurt or they have a jungle gym here's a pretty cool slide here so much fun and they also have the ever-popular swing set it's kind of low to the ground for a guy over 30 just on the opposite side from the lake or a mixture of fast-food restaurants and grocery stores there's a Dollar General right here next to me so people who come down to this lake to vacation can easily walk across the street get what they need and come back for a picnic they also maybe during fourth of July celebrations and those type things have an area here where they can set up a band and they have like a bleacher type area the park now is called floral a city park but it didn't always have that name he Wallace Park which was dedicated in 1965 but Governor George Wallace was a controversial figure through the civil rights movement so they changed the name there's a smaller pier here I'm guessing you can go swimming off to this one they do not want you to feed the ducks [Music] when I was researching this property what drew me to it was the fact that this was in their front yard it's not very often you get to come close to an actual fighter jet I see a placard over here to the side we'll see what it says Lake Jackson Andrew Jackson in Seminole War with an army of 1,200 camped here in May of 1818 Andrew Jackson kept man he really made his mark in the state of Alabama we've been to parks all over the state just on this channel where Andrew Jackson had been there during wartime [Music] you can't see much from inside of here but look at this you can tell that they've good at the inside of it out to put it on display here it's magnificent to be able to be so close to one of these [Music] [Music] something about the trees covered in moss that I enjoy but also enjoy palm tree so the fact that here at this park they have them all mixed together the mossy covered trees and the palm trees this makes it even more special by the way even though it's an overcast day it's a wonderful temperature outside right now it's almost 68 degrees and it's five o'clock in the evening one thing that I do notice about this lake though the water seems to come right up to the edge like there's really not a whole lot of room so it's a lot of rain where to fall here I would imagine that this lake with a overflow very easily but I can make out what appears to be two houses so I'm just assuming that somebody's homes but they put those lights on it so from this side of the lake as the Sun Goes Down it looks really cool and they have all these great areas where you can just sit and watch the sunset or right behind the Wells Fargo sign there the sky is looking pretty rough so with that being said I'm gonna pack up and head back to op Alabama where I will be for the night again and tomorrow at some point I will head home as I head back for the evening I'm gonna go ahead and in the video now I want to thank you all for watching I hope you enjoyed this episode and I will see you tomorrow [Music]
