hello I'm Sergeant Ephraim corneo as part of the Milwaukee Police Department's continuous commitment to transparency we are providing you with this community briefing Community briefings provide relevant information which may include video footage audio recordings photographs and other evidence it is our priority to release this information to you as soon as possible unless releasing the information will compromise the Integrity of the investigation when watching this video keep in mind that this may still be an ongoing investigation for privacy purposes we have concealed audio and images of community members captured in this video the video you are about to see may contain officers using Force explicit language and disturbing images viewer discretion is strongly advised hello I'm inspector David felm with the Milwaukee Police Department in this community briefing I'm going to share with you information regarding circumstances surrounding the non-fatal officer involved shooting that occurred on Friday August 25th 2023 at approximately 11:55 a.m. in the 7,000 block of Northport Washington Road in Glendale Wisconsin on this day members of the Milwaukee area Safe Streets task force to include officers from the Milwaukee Police Department hadn knowledged that a Suspect with multiple outstanding violent felony warrants was in the vicinity of a business in Glendale upon arrival officers observed The Wanted Suspect with two other individuals leaving a business the suspect and one of the other individuals entered a vehicle parked in the lot officers in an unmarked police truck pulled in front of the vehicle occupied by the suspect and one other individual and attempted to make contact the two subjects attempted to flee in their vehicle driving their car into a Milwaukee Police Officer striking him and pinning him against the unmarked police truck the Milwaukee Police Officer discharged his firearm striking the fleeing vehicle and two suspects the vehicle was ultimately stopped by other members of the task force and the driver and passenger were taken into custody officers immediately rendered Medical Aid to the two suspects no other law enforcement officers discharged their firearms the following videos show the described events and from the officer's perspective [Music] got fck [ __ ] you good you good you good shots fired shots fired shots fired you good [ __ ] yeah yeah I'm good what do you need what you need I'm good I'm good I'm good you hit yeah he [ __ ] ran right into me where a search of the suspect vehicle revealed a Glock model 17 9 mm located in the vehicle under the driver's seat the suspect driver a 20-year-old male and the suspect passenger an 18-year-old male were transported to a local hospital for treatment of non-fatal gunshot wounds and were placed under arrest the officer that discharged his firearm is a 31-year-old male with over 5 years of service he was taken to a local hospital for treatment of non-fatal injuries he was placed on administ of Duty as his routine and officer involved incidents the driver was criminally charged with first-degree recklessly endangering safety and two counts of felony bail jumping the passenger was arrested on his outstanding felony warrants this investigation is ongoing and is being conducted by the Milwaukee Police Department's homicide division at the conclusion of their investigation they will present this case to the Milwaukee County District Attorney's office for review
