hey Milwaukee boaters Chris here from your Milwaukee Police Harbor Patrol to share a safety message concerning navigation on the river this summer [Music] so we've heard there's a large-scale dredging project underway on the Milwaukee River courtesy of a few close calls now seemed like an opportune time to share with you three steps on how best to avoid a collision in this area oh step one slow down help us ensure worker safety by not creating a wake [Music] step two if you're powerboating stay away from the Boom the large moving curtain beneath it will disable Your Vessel do your best to stay in a single file line on the right side of the channel to accommodate two-way traffic if you're paddling stay close to shore to avoid impeding vessels out in the narrow channel [Music] step three stop and look for cruise boats and barges if the Broadway Bridge is up there's a construction piling ensuring there is no room for both of you beneath the bridge do not go through the bridge until you know that it's safe to do so [Music] [Applause] [Music] thanks so much for your time and we look forward to seeing you all on the water have a great season [Music] thank you [Music]
