I started with the Milwaukee Police Department in 1996 as a patrol officer at District seven I come from a very strong cultural background I'm Muslim my parents are immigrants and women had their place in our society and men had theirs and honestly this was my form of rebellion against my my parents was joining law enforcement I was a very young detective promoted in 2002 and I was very fortunate to work on a special assignment and intelligent telchines division which included working on public corruption that was always my goal if I'm gonna go after someone he's going to do an expensive period of time because that's the kind of damage that he he or she had done this job is not about about muscle it's not about being loud it is about talking to the community and understanding them and empathizing with those people that are out there that's one thing girls need to understand you have a lot more power than you think everyone thinks if you cry and you have emotion its weak and I think no that's the actually the best quality you can have doing this job because that's how people know you you're real and if you think that you need to have muscles in order to this job absolutely not [Music]
