The first ever City [music] of Milwaukee Battle of the Badges Blood Drive brought together two incredible departments, the Milwaukee Police Department and the Milwaukee Fire Department in a friendly rivalry, sometimes not so friendly, with one shared mission to save lives. It was a competition [music] worth celebrating. We had a neck-and-neck battle from the start to finish, many lead changes throughout the day, momentum building as the drive went on, and a final push that kept everyone on the edge of their seats. And it wasn't just a competition, it was a reflection of commitment, teamwork, and heart that led to 32 >> [music] >> life-saving units collected, saving up to 96 lives right here in our community. Because this is a competition, there can only be one trophy winner, and I want to congratulate the Milwaukee Fire Department, edging out the Milwaukee Police Department by only one unit. >> [applause] >> Uh no, we're Uh I I I just want to say that the work that Versiti is doing, we are actually delivering the blood that you collect out in the field for every victim, [music] gunshot victims. This unbelievably impressive save results. We're in the history of emergency medical services, we were delivering normal saline, IV IV products that were good for filling volume. They don't move oxygen and other nutrients around. And whole blood products that you're providing our system right now, we it is magic in the field. It doesn't work 100% of the time, but it is dramatically increasing our save rate for trauma. And so, to be able to partner with our friends at the Milwaukee Police Department and to see it so close, leaves us on the [music] edge of our seats for next year. Uh we're going to win again. But, uh I'm just happy to, you know, be able to compete against folks that we respect so [music] much. And so, thank you. Yes, thank you. >> [music] [music] [music]
