hello I'm Alfonso Morales chief of the Milwaukee Police Department I'm here to address the informants enforcement measures that the Milwaukee Police Department will take to work together to reduce the spread of coal by 19 in our community since the outbreak of this virus we all have had to readjust our lives readjust ik way we communicate and readjust the way we interact with one another many of us have lost a loved one or a friend to this pandemic and it's heartbreaking this is a very challenging time for all of us - those of you who take this pandemic seriously and who are abiding by the governor's safer at home order thank you as we continue to fight this pandemic it angers me that some individuals are not taking the spread of kovin 19 as seriously as they should some individuals are choosing to go out and commit crimes and some are choosing to go out and partake in activities that lead up to their own victimization or the victimization of others since Governor ubers safer home owner we have investigated far too many crimes and have made far too many arrests that could have been prevented if those individuals would have abided by the order violations of the safer at home order is a criminal offense the Milwaukee Police Department will continue to protect and serve however we will not gamble with the lives of our residents or with the lives of our officers who selflessly go out to assist our community and making Milwaukee a safer place to live work and raise a family if you're out committed crime you will be arrested for violating the governor's order along with what you were initially arrested for if you are out for non-essential reasons and involve yourself in activity that leads to your victimization or the victimization of another you'll be arrested for violating the governor's order we are all impacted by koba 19 and to reduce its spread I'm asking everyone to abide by the order and only go out for essential purposes remember we are all in this together and may God bless you
